My Ex's Son

“He just said you went out a couple of years back and that uh…”
“What?” I could feel my heart pounding.
“That you were frostier than Elsa from Disney’s Frozen.” He replied.
“Great, so, you went for an interview for a job and the pair of you were claiming territory over me.” I sighed.
“No, it wasn’t like that. I never said anything about us because I know there isn’t an us to tell anyone about.” He retorted.
“That’s right.” I snapped again. I was furious at them both.
“And that’s why I took Kate’s number. When I have been paid, we’re going on a date.”
“Good for you.” I sighed. So, in one day I had helped get him a job and he had decided that it was time to move out and start dating my assistant. “Maybe you could take her fiancé out with you, I am sure he will like that.” I added smartly.
“She’s engaged?”
“Yes, he is away working on an oil rig, but they are meant to be getting married next year.” Silence hovered uncomfortably in the car as we continued to head home. I thought I was clear with him, to give me some time, I thought that maybe he would wait considering he was meant to be in love with me. Once again, I had got it wrong, I was such a jerk.
We arrived back at the house and the atmosphere between us continued well into the evening, in fact, it was so heavy, I could hardly breathe in his presence. I tried to eat his meal, but felt I would vomit from the tension knots in my stomach, so I pushed away my plate and said I had a migraine, went up to my room and that’s where I stayed.
Shortly after ten that night, a rattle on my door woke me, I must have been more tired than I first realized because even though I was annoyed and frustrated, it didn’t stop me falling asleep.
“Come in.” I said and sat up in bed.
The door opened slowly and the room filled with light from the hall, followed by Cain peeping around the corner of the door, “How are you feeling?” he asked cautiously.
“I’m alright.” I shrugged.
“I uh, I made you some soup, I thought it might help.”
“I’m not hungry.” I frowned.
“Can we please talk?” he asked.
“Talk about what?”
“Well, whatever is going on between us.” He replied.
“I thought things were fine, I thought after we talked on Saturday, we were okay. Obviously, I was wrong.” I retorted. “I went with Lander to an office party one Christmas and regretted it the moment I agreed to go. We’re friends now and that has taken a lot of work to get to. Lander is very stubborn and used to getting his own way. He didn’t like it that he didn’t get me.”
“I am sorry I brought it up. I didn’t like to hear that he got to take you out, he didn’t go in to details, so I wasn’t aware it was only once.” He explained. “As for Kate, she told me the best way to see if you cared about me was to make you jealous and she volunteered to be the one to make you jealous with, for that I am also sorry.” He sat on the edge of my bed. “I don’t know what you want me to do. I am afraid to bring up what happened. I want to hold your hand and show you affection, but I don’t want to frighten you off again.” He gave a small, wry smile. “Tell me what you want.” He pleaded.
I placed my hand on top of his, I hated the strain the tension between us had on him, on us both. So, for the first time since he kissed me, I spoke from my heart,
“I want you, Cain.” I said. His blue eyes flashed up to meet mine, checking if he had heard right, I smiled slightly and squeezed his hand.
I was about to add that I wanted to go slowly, that I think we should take it one day at a time. I didn’t have a chance though, he took me into his arms and kissed me, his soft lips smothered my mouth, his warm tongue pushed inside and swept around. I melted in his arms, the tension that had grown between us had done one thing, it had caused a fire to burn in my core and I wanted him like I had never wanted anyone before.
As his body pressed against me, I pulled him down on top of me, his hands moved down my side, caressing my breast, down to my hip, travelling lower to my leg, his hand swept up under my night shirt where he found me, smouldering for him. As his long fingers moved inside of me, I allowed a moan to escape my lips. He lifted my night shirt off over my head and stood from the bed, gazing at me as he smiled, he said,
“My God, you are so beautiful, more beautiful than I ever imagined.” He pulled his t-shirt over his head and I knelt up on the bed, rubbing my hands over his firm chest. I un-buckled his belt and opened his jeans as we began to kiss again and then he pulled back.
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
“I don’t have a condom.” He frowned. I pulled open my nightstand drawer, there, sat on top of a book was a full pack of Trojan.
“I do.” I smiled mischievously. I pulled at the waistband of his jeans again. He pushed them down his muscular legs revealing his jockeys, snuggly holding his erection against his hip. Until he pushed them down too. I swallowed a gulp, as in full glory, I got to see the real Cain for the first time. His eyes, alight with desire and hunger, his lips moist and his erection, waving in front of my face.
He joined me on the bed as I fell back, he moved his fingers in tiny circles on my tummy as he kissed me deeply.
“I want to tease you,” he said between kisses, moving his hand over my breasts.
I rolled my eyes and grinned, “It has been over a year since I last had sex, I am so ready for this.” I scoffed playfully.
“Yes, but the journey is always as good, if not better, than the destination.” He stated and smiled before he kissed me again moving his fingers teasingly over my body.
His hand found me again, oozing with heat, I opened my legs and allowed his fingers to move inside of me once more. As he did this, though my mind began to fog over, I took hold of him, feeling him throb between my fingers, he groaned in my ear as my body began to pulsate at his touch, moving my hand up and down, I felt his warmth intensifying.
Yes, it had been a year, but I wasn’t dormant, as each of my nerves began to ache, he pulled his fingers away and laid on his back, I watched intensely as he slipped a condom over him and smiled greedily before he climbed on top of me again and firmly moved inside of me. As soon as he began to thrust, my body moved with his, my core burned and pulse throbbed throughout my body as I pressed against him. The subtle taste of salt mixed with his gorgeous cologne on his skin, filled my mouth as I kissed his neck, tingling on my tongue.
I moved my hands down the side of his body, feeling the silky skin of his hips as he moved, sliding my hands over his backside and grabbing it as his thrusting began to speed up. As my ache began to throb, I squeezed, digging my nails into his firm cheeks, making him push deeper into me.
The more I squeezed, the deeper he plunged as far as my body would allow. His dry lips found my mouth and he kissed me deeply, but I couldn’t concentrate, my mind was focused on the ache in my body, the need I felt for him, the more he moved, the more I wanted him to.
My forehead moistened, his breathing felt cool on my damp skin as my head filled with amazing lights while thrashing it from side to side. Crying out as my ache raced through my body, bursting through my nerves and igniting them, the heat engulfed my body as moments later, as I began to relax against the bed, he groaned in my ear, slowing until he finally stopped. He smiled before kissing me again.
“Are you okay?” he asked breathlessly.
“Yes.” I grinned. “Are you?”
“Oh yes,” he smiled and kissed my chin. “That was so much better than when I used to fantasize over you as a kid.”
“You used to fantasize over me?”
“Yes, I did.” He nodded. “Every morning since I was about thirteen.” He added.
“Oh, my God.” I cringed. “You mean, even recently?”
“Every morning.” He affirmed.
“Wow.” I smiled, feeling my already flushed cheeks, warm.
“I don’t want t
o move.” He wriggled.
“Then don’t.” I replied raising an eyebrow.
“I love you, Jenna.” He declared. I just smiled at his words, I couldn’t say it back, I kissed him as disappointment graced his face momentarily. I didn’t want anything to ruin this moment. As our lips parted he stared at me, gazing into my eyes.
“I need to go to the bathroom.” I said, breaking the silence.
“I’ll uh, I’ll let you get some sleep.” He said and began to climb off my body.
“What do you mean?” I asked feeling the cool air brush against my damp body.
“I’ll go to my room…” he explained.
“No.” I insisted. “You, well, if you want to, are welcome to stay in here with me.”
“Are you sure?” he asked lying beside me.
“Yes.” I answered.
“Maybe I could use the bathroom first.”
“Of course.” I smiled. He sat up and pushed the covers off.
“Cain, I do care about you and I am falling for you.” I said. He turned his head, “I don’t want you to think this is one sided.”
“Okay, Jenna.” He nodded and lifted his jockeys from my floor. He pulled them up his legs and stood. I couldn’t take my eyes off him, his tanned skin, his muscles and then he turned, showing me the tattoo he had mentioned on his pelvis as he pulled them up to his waist. He smiled slightly before he left my room. I laid back on my pillow and smiled, I felt sublime, no other word would describe it, I felt sublime and it was wonderful.
Ten
I woke entwined with Cain and my covers after the best sleep I’d had in years. Trying not to disturb him as he slept soundly, I cautiously moved my arm to lift my phone. Shocked that it was almost six. I rested my head back on the pillow and smiled. I thought I would feel guilty, bad even, but I didn’t. I felt amazing, Cain was Jake’s son and he was seven years younger than me, but did it matter? As much as it should have, it didn’t make one bit of difference. I didn’t care. He was a wonderful man, sometimes moody, stubborn and hot headed. Still, he made me smile and had awakened my dormant soul. He loved me, without conditions or empty promises, he loved me. Cain had brought me back to life and I was not letting him go anywhere.
His tight grip on my body loosened slightly, I gazed at his face. His eyelashes, long and dark, pressing against his cheek. His cherub shaped lips, pressed together and the spatter of stubble across his chin. He smiled warmly,
“I can feel you looking at me.” He said without opening his eyes.
“I am just drinking you in, you truly are gorgeous.” I grinned. His eyes opened and he gazed into mine. “Has no one ever said that before?”
“No, actually, they haven’t,” he admitted and pressed his hand against the side of my face. “Did you sleep okay?”
“I had a wonderful night’s sleep and it’s all thanks to you.” Then I remembered, as much as I could have stayed there all day, I had to get up and showered for work. “I had better get up.”
“Yes, it’s my first day today.” He smiled. “I should too.”
“Cain, you’re not really going to look for somewhere else to live, are you?”
“Are you asking me to stay?” he queried.
“Yes.” I affirmed. “Now that I have you, I don’t want to let you go.”
“In that case,” he grinned warmly, “I won’t go until you tell me to.” He then kissed me tenderly. I pulled back from his mouth, “What is it?”
“I need to brush my teeth.”
“Me too.” He agreed. “I’ll go and start the shower, wanna help the environment?” he asked.
“How?”
“We shower together.” He replied proudly.
“Oh, I bet you have used that line a few times.” I smiled and sat up from the warmth of my bed.
“I have as it happens, and it works like a charm.” He pushed off the covers and stood, looking glorious in the golden light of my room as the sun peeped through the gap in my curtains. He pushed open my door and left my room. I fell back against my pillow and sighed loudly, life had taken an expected turn and for the first time in years, I was excited by what this new adventure could bring.
I pushed open the bathroom door, the steam blew in my face as a hand reached towards me, I took hold of it and was pulled into the bathroom. Cain, still naked, smiled as he pulled me towards his body. Smelling of tooth paste he kissed me while tracing his finger-tips down my back. Pulling my robe off my shoulders, it fell at my feet as he took my hand and led me to the shower.
Stepping into the shower, as warm water rained over my body, my skin covered in goose-bumps. He stepped in behind me and closed the glass door. The shower filled with steam as I turned to face him, he smiled as he reached behind me, lifting his shower gel. He squeezed it into his hand and placed it back on the shelf. He then rubbed his hands together before smearing my body with foamy soap suds. As his palms rubbed over my erect nipples, I smiled at the sensation. He moved his hand over my tummy and lower, and as he pushed his fingers into me, I leaned into him and kissed him deeply.
He turned me around, so I faced away from him, then pulling me back against his wet body, I felt him slip between my legs, warm and slick from the soap covering him. His hand moved around my waist, as his lips pecked at my shoulders, pushing his tongue into my ear and his nose into my hair. As I pushed back against him, he began to gyrate against my body, still held firmly between my legs, his fingers moved around me and within me as my body began to warm. I pressed harder against him, placing my hands against the tiled wall, his thrusting sped up, my body burst with an ache, ricocheting through me, causing me to quiver at his touch until I relaxed. He groaned from behind as his warmth slipped down my legs and onto the shower floor, washing away down the drain.
“Oh, my God,” he sighed into my hair. I turned around to face him and kissed him again. He took me into his arms and held me. Hot water rained over us as I rested my head against his shoulder, my body still thudded as it slowly calmed from the intensity of the most earth-shattering orgasm, I’d ever had.
“Are you okay?” I asked.
“That was incredible, you are incredible.” He said as I pulled my head from his shoulder.
“I have never had sex in a shower before.” I admitted.
“And?”
“It was sensational.” I beamed. “How can we go to work after that?”
“Well,” he smiled unfolding his arms from around me. “If you think that was good, wait ‘til tonight.”
“I am already looking forward to it.”
We showered and as he shaved, I dried my hair. I didn’t have time to straighten it, so I tied it up into a ponytail and dressed in my grey skirt suit with a white blouse under the jacket. I was touching up my make-up when he knocked on my door.
“You look beautiful.” He said sincerely.
“Thank you.” I smiled smearing red lipstick over my lips.
“I am making coffee; would you like some?”
“I would love some.” I turned to face him. He looked as hot as he did the day before in his suit and tie. “You look very swish.”
“Swish?” he smiled bemused.
I nodded, “Handsome, debonair, swish.”
“Well, thank you.” He said. “I’ll make the coffee.”
By the time I got down the stairs, he had made coffee and toast, not that I could eat. My insides were too jittery to eat food, I had no regrets, don’t get me wrong, I knew what I wanted as much as he claimed to, it was just because I felt so much for him already, I was afraid of it going wrong and losing him.
“Where did you get the bread?” I asked nibbling a slice.
“I found a loaf in your cabinet.” He replied.
“I thought we were out.” I shrugged and took another bite.
“It was hidden behind some cereal.” He explained. “So, are you ready?”
“Yes.” I smiled and sipped my coffee before standing. “Let’s do this.”
We left the h
ouse and headed for the station. We were taking the train together and although he never implied anything, I could sense he wasn’t happy about me buying the tickets. He sat beside me on the train and took my hand in his.
“You know, I have savings…” I began.
“I am not taking money from you.” He muttered.
“Well, it could be a loan until you get your first pay check.” I suggested.
“I can’t…”
I turned in my seat, “Cain, I know you will pay it back. I just hate that look you get when I have to pay for something. Please. Let me take some out of the bank and then when you have it, you can give it back. I don’t mind.”
“I’d rather not.” He said firmly.
“Okay, so what will you do for lunch today?”
“I have made a sandwich,” he answered.
“Fine, it’s just an offer and there if you need it.”
“Thank you.” He frowned.
I could understand how he felt and I suppose he would feel even worse if he had to take money from me. I know I wouldn’t take money from him if it were the other way around. Just before we stopped in the city, he got a text. He pulled his phone from his pocket and stared at the screen.
“Is everything alright?” I asked.
“Yes,” he swallowed, I could clearly see it wasn’t. The train stopped.
“Ready?” I checked.
“Yes.” He smiled slightly. “Let’s go.”
Taking my hand in his, we walked through the city towards the office. It was about a fifteen minute walk and as the warm, spring sun shone down on us, I began to feel more and more uncomfortable as we got closer to the office. What if Kate saw us or Lander? I would hate for anything to happen to make it difficult for Cain. I knew Lander was now married and I got on quite well with his wife, Annie, but I didn’t want to rub Cain in his face.
We climbed into the elevator together and as the doors closed he turned to face me,
