Get Rocked? (The Next Generation #2)

“Caleb!” she calls out as she smacks me on the back. I let go of her ear and move in taking her mouth forcefully and lowering my body to hers. All playfulness quickly evaporates as our bodies meld together and we kiss passionately. My cock hardens against her abdomen, and I feel her smirk against my lips.
“Ready to go again, rock star?” she asks and I look down at her and raise my eyebrows insinuatingly.
“Always ready for you, my sweet little pixie,” I reply and then lean back down kissing her avidly.
Indi and I stayed in bed till mid-afternoon until our stomachs growled so forcefully that neither of us could stand the hunger pangs anymore. We had a quick shower together and then I decided to take her out somewhere special. She deserves to see how I will treat her when she’s with me, so I’m taking her for a late lunch to one of London’s top restaurants. I rang ahead ensure it was okay to come in with such late notice, and for a special price they’ve reserved the restaurant especially for us. They close the doors at two-thirty and we should get there around then so it will be just us. No one will see us together which is exactly what Indi wants and needs. I’d love nothing more than to show her off to the world, but I understand her hesitation. I would too with her past, but I’m not famous yet, people don’t know me. They know me as the son of the hugely famous Huxley Slade, but I’ve only had two live performances as the lead singer of Staked, so I doubt I’ll have fan girls chasing after me and or any paparazzi showing up just yet.
Indi walks out of the bedroom into the lounge room where I’m waiting on the lounge suite. I love her, but she takes forever to get ready. I guess I did only have one set of clothes to wear, whereas she had to choose an outfit. I turn around and stare at her, she looks stunning in her little yellow halter dress with a white cardigan. She looks like such the innocent good girl, and here’s me in my black vest, leather jacket and dark jeans, with long hair looking like the epitome of a bad boy. I chuckle and stand up walking across to her.
“You look beautiful,” I say and run my hand through her shoulder length blonde hair and then back to her cheek to caress it.
“You look…well, the same as you always do. Do you actually wear anything other than jeans, a black vest and a leather jacket?”
“Would you like to see me in something different?” I ask and she smiles and shakes her head biting her lip.
“No, you look perfect.”
“That’s what I thought,” I joke and she rolls her eyes and I pull her in for a quick kiss.
“You ready to go?”
She nods and grabs her keys off the buffet next to the hundred roses that even I admit are stunning.
“Yeah, I hope we’re not going anywhere too crowded,” she asks and I smile.
“Nope, just somewhere nice and cosy.” I take her hand and walk toward the front door. We walk out of her home and proceed down the street to my car, which is thankfully still in one piece. I unlock and open the passenger door for her and she smiles at me as she slides into the car. I close her door and walk around to my side and slide in closing my door and starting the engine. I can feel her eyes on me so I turn to watch her smirking.
“What?” I ask and she giggles.
“It’s just you,” she says and I furrow my brows.
“What do you mean?”
She smiles and looks around the car. “You, this car, your band. You’re pretty spectacular, you know?”
“I think you’re thinking of yourself there, sweet Indi,” I say and lean over grabbing her seatbelt. “Buckle up.” She grabs the belt from me and clips it in. I smile, lean in and kiss her and then look back to the road and drive toward the restaurant.
On the drive, we talk about how we’re going to work this. How when she’s on night shift she will come to my place after work and stay at my house which is closer to the hospital than hers. Except for when I’m in Oxfordshire rehearsing with the band, which could be more often now. But I want to spend as much time as I can with Indi before anything big happens with the band. I know something is going to happen. A tour or a new album or something is planned, so I need to get as much time in as possible before I have to spend time away from her. We pull up at the restaurant in the heart of London and Indi goes quiet.
“We’re eating here? Won’t they be closed now? Or at least have a heap of people in there?” she asks and I take her hand in mine.
“I rang ahead. It’s going to be just us in there, no one else. A romantic party for two,” I say and she bites her bottom lip and smiles which makes my cock ache.
God damn she is sexy.
I park the car and we get out. Walking around I wrap my arm around her shoulders and pull her into my side. She giggles and wraps her arm around my waist as we walk together toward the restaurant.
“So you basically hired this whole place out just for me?” she asks and I nod. “That must’ve been expensive?” she asks furrowing her brows and I smile at her and lean in kissing her temple.
“Nothing is too expensive to make my girl happy, Indi.”
She smiles bashfully and snuggles into my side tighter as we walk through the massive double glass doors.
Our late lunch slash early dinner was delicious and they even had a string quartet playing in the background. They set the table up for me just like I’d asked. A lone table in the centre of the room under the chandelier, with candles and flowers. I made them take out all the other tables so they could place a sea of rose petals and tea candles on the floor to give the place a real romantic feel. I wanted to spoil her. I know we’ve only been together officially for a few hours, but I needed to show Indi how much I’ve adored and loved her and how she is going to be treated for the rest of her life with me. I’m a closet romantic, and it shines through in my songs. All my songs are about her, so it only goes to say that I would show her the romance that I so proudly sing about. She means everything to me, I want her to know that I would stop at nothing to make her feel special every second of every day.
“Caleb, you spoil me,” she whispers and then licks some melted chocolate from her pinky finger that dripped from her spoon.
“I will spoil you every day if you’ll let me,” I say honestly.
She giggles and places her spoon into her empty bowl. “This was unbelievable and perfect and completely unexpected. But you don’t have to flash your money around to show how much you care about me you know?”
I slump back in my chair. “You don’t like it?” I ask and she opens her eyes wide shocked that I seem offended.
“Oh no, not at all. I love this, Caleb. It’s just I’m a simple girl, I’m not used to such extravagance. But don’t get me wrong, I love all…this, it’s utterly amazing,” she says, so I sit up further in my chair and lean my hands over the table and take hers in mine.
“Indi, I know you want to take things slow, but I want to be honest with you right from the start,” I say finding some courage I never knew I had.
“Okay,” she says sounding unsure.
“I want to marry you.”
Her eyes bulge open and she swallows hard. I chuckle and shake my head.
“Not now, don’t panic. But that’s where I see us heading. I’ve wanted to be with you, my entire life. And being official with you for the last twelve hours has been the best twelve hours of my life. Every moment I wasn’t with you, I felt empty, a void of nothingness where I was going nowhere. I know this is rushing things, I know you don’t want that. I’m not proposing, but I just want you to know that I see that in our future. I want you, all of you. It doesn’t have to be today or tomorrow or next week or next year, hell I don’t care if it’s in ten years. When you’re ready is fine with me, as long as I know that you see that in our future too. Again, I know you want slow and what I’m saying is kind of defeating that, but like I said it can be in ten years just as long as you see it. Can you see it?” I ask. Her eyes fill with tears and she smiles so brightly it stops my heart, and then when a tear runs down her face it kicks it back into ge
ar making it pump harder and faster than ever before. “Can you see it, Indi?” I ask again hoping she says yes because if she can’t it will break me irreparably.
She smiles and sniffs as I bring a hand up and wipe her tears. She nods and bites her bottom lip. “I can see it. But not yet, Caleb. Slow okay?” she asks and I laugh with utter joy as I stand up and race around to her. She stands up to meet me and I pull her to me, our bodies crashing together and my hands moving quickly to her cheeks so I force her to look at me. Her eyes are filling with tears and so are mine as we declare our timeless love for each other.
“I love you,” she says.
“I fucking love you,” I say and lean down crashing my lips to hers, taking her mouth passionately as the string quartet continues to play. I pull her hands up around my neck, and we begin to sway to the music as we kiss and dance. My heart is filling with so much happiness, I can hardly contain it while my stomach is flipping somersaults.
Indi sees marriage for us!
I know she’s on the same page as me.
We will get our happy ever after, after all.
Life throws you curveballs, but sometime after swinging and missing a few times, on that last swing, you hit and you hit it out of the park. And that’s what’s happening right now. I’ve hit a home run. And Indi is the perfect and only place I want to call home.
I took Indi back to my place so she could see where I lived and so we could spend some more quality time together. I needed to take her home the next morning so she could prepare for work and so I could drive into Oxfordshire. Everything just feels right. My music career is starting and it’s all because of Indi. It’s fitting that she should be with me to see it through from the start. We spent the rest of our time together making love and talking about the six years of our lives that we missed. She really has been very sheltered and she surprises me with the fact that she doesn’t really have a lot of friends. She said she has one friend at her work whose name is Kenzi or something weird like that. Indi says she’s quite the opposite of her, in the fact that she’s really loud and outgoing and can be pretty embarrassing at times. But they get along well and Kenzi is the only one who knows all about Indi’s past and all about me. I was kinda chuffed that she actually mentioned me to someone during the time we’ve been apart. It was nice to know that she still thought of me just like I thought about her. And it’s great she had someone like Kenzi to lean on when I couldn’t be there for her. I hope to meet her and thank her in person.
But for now I’m on my way to Oxfordshire with a smile on my face and an ache in my chest from how full of love my heart is for Indi.
Shit that sounded so lame! I don’t care! I love her. I don’t care if it makes me into a love sick fool. Like I’ve said before, I would shout it from the rooftops that I love her if she’d let me. But I understand her reservations in that department. So I will keep this to myself, for now.
I sing loudly along with the radio in my car for the hour and a half journey to Colt’s house. I can’t wait to have a rehearsal with the kids. Well, I guess they’re not really kids anymore, they’re all teenagers. Aston’s legally an adult, but because they’re seven or more years younger than me, they’ll always seem like kids to me. I’m in such a good mood as I hit the remote on the gate at Colt and Lia’s manor. I drive through as it opens noticing Chad’s car is already parked, I’m the last to arrive as usual. I chuckle to myself and pull the car to a stop grabbing my mobile from the console, I send a quick text message.
Me: Miss you already. xoxo
I hit send and shake my head at how easy it comes being in a relationship with Indi. As I unbuckle my belt my phone beeps just a second later and I open the message.
Indi: I miss you too, I can’t wait to see you again. Have a good practice. I have to start work now, but I’ll message on my break. I love you. <3 xo
I smile at her message and quickly type in a reply.
Me: Okay have a good shift. Save lives and stuff. lol Love you more. xo
Smirking at my text, I put my phone back in my pocket as I step out of my car and close the door. I can’t wipe the smile off my face as I knock on the front door. Aston answers with Annie hanging from his arm. I raise an eyebrow.
“So Colt’s okay with your PDA’s now then?” I ask and Aston opens his eyes wide at me like he’s terrified and Annie giggles.
“Dad’s…well, dad, he hates it. But after Mum gave him a thorough talking to about letting us live our lives together, well now, he tolerates us being together. Right babe?” she answers and Aston looks at me and raises an eyebrow.
“Yeah,” he says looking down at her and smiling just to placate her. I chuckle to myself because I know Aston must be feeling torn. Poor kid. He wants to be with Annie more than anything but being affectionate with her around Colt nearby is probably something he really doesn’t feel entirely comfortable with. And now that Annie has Colt by the balls about it, she will be milking it for all it’s worth. Poor Aston. I walk inside the house and slap Aston on the back as I close the door behind me. We proceed down to the music room where everyone is waiting.
“Hey Caleb,” Chad calls out pulling his earphones from his head and waving a drumstick in the air.
“Hey, dude.”
He smiles and then puts the headphones back on and goes back into concentrating.
“Caleb, good you’re here,” Colt says as I move across to him. He stands up and I rush forward in my good mood and embrace him tightly. He chuckles and man hugs me back.
“You’re in a good mood. What’s this for?” he asks as Ella and Annie laugh.
“Just feeling grateful. This whole music thing is because of you and Indi, so without you guys this wouldn’t be happening,” I say.
“Indi hey? I haven’t heard that name or seen her for years. I wonder how she is?” he asks and then I remember she doesn’t want me saying anything to my family about us. So I lock my lips and lie.
“When I saw her at the hospital, she looked good.”
“You should try and catch up with her. You guys were really good friends. Invite her to a concert. You never know she might throw her shirt at you or something,” Colt teases. I laugh and blush slightly, thinking back to this morning when Indi did actually throw her shirt at me, but it was while we were getting naked and about to make love.
“Yeah maybe, she’s pretty busy. She has a whole other life now, I’m sure she wouldn’t care about me anymore,” I say with a smirk. Colt furrows his brows at me like he’s confused by my dismissal of her.
“Okay. Well anyway, we need to get a rehearsal in before we have another gig tomorrow night,” he says just as my mobile rings. I nod at Colt and look down at my phone to see that Sasha’s calling. I forgot to send her that thank you text, so I figure I better say thank you now. I walk out of the music room and swipe to answer the call.
“Hey Sasha.”
“Hey Caleb, you sound better than when I last spoke to you,” she says and I smile because thanks to her, I am.
“I’m doing better, much better! I took your advice and I went to see Indi. We sorted things out and we’re doing great now. I wanted to send you a text to say thanks, but I got caught up. So thank you,” I say and she’s quiet down the line. “Sasha?”
“Yeah, I’m here. So you and Indi are back on then?”
“Yeah, but we’re not telling anyone, so please don’t say anything.”
“Okay. I was wondering, can I see you again?” she asks and I furrow my brows wondering, is she stupid?
“Umm…I don’t think that’s such a great idea, me being back with Indi and all?” I hear her exhale.
“Okay, it was worth a try.”
I get an uneasy feeling, but I let it slide when Annie walks out of the music room and into the hall to find me.
“Cuz c’mon, we got jammin’ to do,” she calls out.
I nod and smile as she walks back into the room. “Look, Sasha, thank you for what you did for me, but I need to concentrate on
Indi and the band now. I’m sorry,” I say and she says nothing. “Okay, well, I have to go, I have rehearsals. It was nice talking to you. I wish you well, Sasha,” I say and wait for her to respond.
“Okay, I understand how it is. I’ll catch ya round,” she says and hangs up.
I exhale and run my hand through my hair and shake my head. I think I dodged a bullet there. Shoving my phone back into my pocket, I walk back into the music room to start rehearsals.
After rehearsals, I drove back home to London so I could be there when Indi arrives after her night shift. I’m in bed half asleep. I knew she would be here late, and she told me not to wait up, but I can’t help but wait patiently for her. I gave her a key so she could let herself in, after much debate with her about whether it was too soon to be doing that. I told her I didn’t want to get out of bed to answer the door, trying to run my reverse psychology on her and it worked. Immediately, she took the key and said I definitely shouldn’t be waiting up or having to get out of bed to answer the door, so maybe a key was the right idea. Sometimes playing on Indi’s weaknesses helps her see things my way. So, I’m half asleep listening to the sounds of the early morning television when I hear the front door creek. My eyes flutter open and I look toward my bedroom door, rubbing my eyes so I don’t look as tired as I feel when she comes in. She peeks her head through the door and she looks exhausted, so much so I want to run over and carry her to the bed. I sit up and she smiles at me while walking in and placing her bag on the drawers.
“Hey baby,” I say and pat the bed next to me.
“Hey, you should be asleep,” she says as she steps out of her shoes and starts to undress. I stand up and walk over to her because she looks like she’s about to fall over.
“You okay?”
“Yeah, just drained. Tonight was crazy busy. My feet are so sore,” she says as she pulls off her cardigan and looks around for a place to hang it. I take it from her and place it on the top of the clothes basket. She smiles at me and then starts to unbutton her blouse.
