Never Be the Same

“If you don’t want to swallow, Bri, now is the time to pull out,” Jameson warned me, his teeth clenched before he grunted.

Hell, I wanted to taste him. If his actual cum tasted anything like his precum, I could taste him all day. I didn’t stop sucking, I didn’t pull him out of my mouth, I forged ahead waiting for him to release. A loud groan escaped from Jameson as hot streams of cream shot into my mouth continuously. I smiled as I sucked him dry, swallowing every last drop that he gave me. It was almost a salty-sweet that made me just want more all over again.

He softened in my mouth and I knew that he was finished. Releasing him, I finished swallowing what I had in my mouth as I sat back on my heels in between his legs and watched him. His chest rose and fell in quick succession as though he was trying to catch his breath. Now that, ladies and gentlemen, was a sight to behold. When Jameson finally sat up, he kissed my lips with a hunger that took my breath away. Sure, I had just given him a blowjob—the first one I had ever successfully completed—but there was something that changed in the air between us. This wasn’t just a one and done type of deal. There was something there between us now.

“Holy fuck,” Jameson sighed as he rested his forehead against mine.

“Did I do okay?” I whispered.

“Okay doesn’t even begin to cover it, Bri. I have no idea how any guy could have ever complained and critiqued about how you were doing. That was the best blowjob I have ever gotten.”

I rolled my eyes, “You’re just saying that so that I’ll do it again sometime.”

Jameson surprised me as he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me back down onto the bed, “I told you that I wasn’t going to treat you like every other girl. That would be something that I’d lie about to them…but this time I am telling you the truth.”

My lips pressed against his, “Okay. I trust you, Jay.”

He returned my kiss, “Good. Now, how about that breakfast?”

“Wake me up when it’s done,” I teased as I rolled over and brought the blankets up over my naked body.

Jameson chuckled and kissed my shoulder, “Breakfast in bed it is.”

I listened as he found his pajama pants and put them back on before he left the room. Closing my eyes, I smiled to myself. I couldn’t remember the last time that I felt this happy. Jameson was obviously the one thing I needed in my life to show me that there was happiness outside of the sad relationship that I had forced myself to stay in.

  Chapter Five

“Goodbye, Jay,” I said for what felt like the millionth time as I finally forced myself out of the passenger seat of his Lamborghini.

“What, Bri, no goodbye kiss?” Jameson teased and puckered his lips at me.

I giggled and leaned over the passenger door to kiss him again, “That’s only the hundredth kiss that I’ve given you since we pulled into the driveway.”

Jameson’s hand cupped my cheek, “At least we’re ending on an even number.”

“Call me later?” I whispered, watching his chocolate brown eyes shine back at me.

“Of course. Have fun with your friends. You’ll be sorely missed at the club, but your name will always be on the VIP list,” his thumb skimmed against my skin and I smiled.

“Thank you. I’ll talk to you later.”

I reluctantly pushed myself up off the passenger door and walked backwards. Jameson gave me a quick wink before he backed out of the driveway and disappeared from view. Heading back into the house, all of my friends were sitting in the front living room as though it was the regular living room.

“Enjoy the show, girls?” I raised an eyebrow and leaned against the entryway.

“Who the hell can say goodbye that many times?” Jasmine sighed dramatically.

“Apparently her and Jameson,” Melanie responded.

“Well she should enjoy it while it lasts,” Ashley said from her spot on the couch opposite of me.

What the fuck does that mean?

“Care to elaborate?” I found myself asking.

“According to sources back home, Gavin went off the deep end yesterday after you ended things. Rumor has it, he’s on his way to California to find you,” Jasmine looked back at me and shrugged her shoulder.

There was no way that that was true. Gavin and I were over but that didn’t necessarily mean that he would fly four hours to get here. This city was filled with people, how the hell was he supposed to find me?

Melanie and Jasmine got up and left the room, seeing how this was news to me. I shook my head and sat down on the couch that they had just vacated.

“So, how was the sex?” Ashley questioned with a wiggle of her eyebrows.

“We didn’t have full-on sex. Just some foreplay this morning,” I quietly admitted.

“Not even last night?” She sounded shocked.

“Nope. When we got back to his house, we got ready for bed and cuddled until we fell asleep. This morning we made breakfast, ended up having some foreplay, then made breakfast again because the previous one got cold. After that we spent the morning just lying around and talking. I actually feel something for him already because the connection we have is so different.”

She nodded, “I understand. Sometimes you just can’t help it when the connection forms. You two are great together. We all saw it last night and from the way you two just said goodbye what feels like a million times, it’s obvious.”

I blushed, “Yeah…well I’m going to go take a shower. Then we can all head out to the wine tasting.”

Getting up, I raced up the stairs and into my bedroom. Before even deciding to take a shower, I took my phone out of the purse that I had swung onto my bed. My phone was full of missed calls and messages from Gavin, begging for forgiveness like he always did after we had a fight. I finally hit the call back button, but the phone went straight to voicemail. It was about time that I left him a message.

“Gavin, this isn’t going to be like all the times before where we break up just to get back together. I’ve had enough of our back and forth, it’s time that we actually do end things and move on with our lives. I’m sorry that it had to be like this, but I know you will find someone who will make you happy one day. Goodbye, Gavin. I wish you all the best.”

Putting my phone back on my bed, I slipped out of my dress from the night before and started a hot shower. As I washed my body, I imagined it was Jameson’s hands touching me rather than the bar of soap. As I washed my hair, it was Jameson’s hands tangling in my hair. The man made me as giddy as a damn schoolgirl. I really did want Gavin to move on with his life and find someone who made him happy. Not only because that was what he deserved, but because I already found myself moving onto someone who made me extremely happy. I just hoped that I made Jameson as happy as he made me.

I laid on the couch next to Ashley, giggling as though I was given laughing gas the whole afternoon rather than several different kinds of wine. It was a good thing that we took an Uber to and from the wine tasting because after the first five kinds, we were on the road to being smashed. Now here we were, almost completely drunk off our asses and eating some nice greasy pizza that we had delivered. It was getting late and we were finishing off one of the many bottles we bought back at the vineyard that we had gone to. This was what made us maintain our constant buzz…or was it constant drunkenness?

The doorbell rang, and I was the first one who was actually able to get up off the couch. My friends and I laughed as I stumbled over someone’s shoes that sat in the middle of the floor. Finally, I made it to the front door and swung it open in a flourish. Jameson stood there in the doorway with his usual smirk, his hand resting on the doorframe.

“What are you doing here?” I half slurred my question.

  “You invited me,” he chuckled.

My eyebrows scrunched together as I tried to remember ever even talking to Jameson after we went to the vineyard.

When he saw that I couldn’t remember, he brought his phone from his pocket and pressed the
screen a few times before my very drunken voice flowed from his phone.

“Hey Jay-Jay! So, I’ve been thinking about you all day…yep, all day! I think you should come over tonight. And no, I haven’t had too much to drink. Maybe six or seven samples. OH, WAIT, HERE COME MORE! Come over!”

The line went dead and my now sobering mind let my mouth fall open in horror. I had no recollection of leaving that message, but it was definitely me. My friends were laughing in the background. They probably thought it was a good idea to drunk dial Jameson. Everything seemed like a good idea when you were drunk.

“I came to just make sure that you are all okay,” Jameson laughed, still standing in the doorway.

I stepped out of his way so that he could come into the house. After closing the door and locking it behind him, Jameson took my hand and brought my knuckles to his lips. My cheeks flushed as I took in his sweet gesture.

“Bri! Did we forget that we ordered more pizza or something?!” Ashley called from the living room.

I led Jameson down the small hallway and into the living room where we all sat around a mostly empty box of pizza, “No, but look who came for a visit.”

“You got our message!” Jasmine cheered from her place on one of the couches.

“Yes ma’am, I did. Wanted to make sure you all were okay. It sounded like you had a lot of fun,” Jameson smiled whereas if he were Gavin, I would have been getting the lecture of the century.

“We had a blast!” Melanie excitedly said from beside Jasmine.

“That’s good to hear. I see you all are in one piece, so maybe I should let you all continue your girls night.”

“No! Stay for Briella! She needs a man to cuddle with!” Ashley encouraged.

Now I definitely didn’t feel as drunk as before. My friends were just willingly feeding me to the sharks. At least they didn’t say I needed to get laid, then I think I would have died from embarrassment right then and there.

“I’m only too happy to oblige to a damsel in need of cuddling,” Jameson winked and wrapped his arm around my waist.

“I am getting pretty tired,” I admitted, looking up at him.

  “Party pooper!” Jasmine chastised me.

Jameson laughed, “I guess I will take this party pooper up to bed and let you all continue the fun.”

Jasmine stuck her tongue out at me before I led Jameson back out into the hallway and up the stairs to my bedroom. Once the door was closed behind us, my lips found Jameson’s. He tasted like a sweet whiskey, his signature drink from the bar. His soft lips felt so good as they pressed against mine, who knew that it was possible to miss someone’s kiss? When we parted, my hands were clutching to the lapels of his jacket as though I couldn’t get close enough.

“Thanks for coming to check on us,” I smiled.

Jameson ran his hand through my hair and I closed my eyes at the feeling, “It’s no problem at all.”

“You know, I wasn’t lying in my drunken message. I have been thinking about you all day.”

  “Oh really? What about me?”

The teasing nature of his voice made me giggle. He was prodding for information, seeing if I was still drunk enough to admit my secrets.

“Just about our night and our morning. Is it wrong that I missed you?”

Jameson shook his head and took a small step closer to me, “No, because I found myself missing you ever since I dropped you off.”

My arms laced around his neck, “Stay with me, Jay. Don’t make me sleep alone.”

His bright smile made my heart skip a beat, “That’s all we are going to do though, Bri. You are still a little drunk and I don’t want to do anything outside of laying in bed and cuddling with you.”

“Are you saying that Jameson Barnes is a true gentleman?” I teased.

“We are a rare breed, but yes I am,” he chuckled before brushing his lips back against mine.

He helped me undress then get redressed into one of my nightgowns. I tucked into the queen size bed of the room I was staying in while I watched Jameson strip down to his boxers. Now I wanted him to break the gentlemanly rules and just take me right there. But I knew that he wouldn’t do that, so I had to suck it up. Jameson walked into the attached bathroom and came back with a glass of water, slipping the cool glass into my hand and telling me to drink up. As he got settled into bed with me, I drank the water and set the empty glass on my nightstand. Snuggling under the covers, I curled up as close as I could get to Jameson, my head resting on his chest. Listening to the sound of his heart beat made me smile, being this close to him made my own heart race.

“Goodnight Briella,” Jameson whispered, kissing the top of my head like he did the night before.

“Goodnight, Jameson,” I replied quietly, closing my eyes.

I know that I will have sweet dreams.

When I woke up the next morning, Jameson was already awake but hadn’t moved. He was watching me sleep which should have creeped me out, but it actually made me very happy. I stretched out next to him, groaning quietly as my limbs began to wake up. His quiet chuckle made me smile as he rolled over on top of me.

“You are so beautiful in the morning. You know that, right?” Jameson grinned.

“I probably look like a mess but thank you for the compliment straight outta the gate,” I giggled, putting my arms around his neck.

“I’ve never seen a girl look so beautiful without even trying.”

“Okay, what do you want?” I rolled my eyes. Two compliments in just a few minutes? Something was up.

“Just a kiss.” He ran his nose along mine.

“All you have to do is ask,” I responded, bringing his lips down to mine.

Our kiss spun out of control. It was filled with so much touching and caressing that my mind didn’t even know what was happening. Jameson began to kiss down my neck, instantly finding the sensitive spot that drove me fucking crazy. My mouth fell open as panted breaths and moans escaped into the stillness of the room around us. His hand skimmed down over my nightgown until it reached the hem, his hand making its way underneath what I was wearing. Loud footsteps on the staircase told me that the girls were already up and about. If anything was going to take place, I would have to be very, very quiet.

Jameson’s teeth grazed over my skin and I gasped at the sensation. It sent shivers down my spine and an electrical current that made my body hum. The sound of my bedroom door hitting the dresser that stood just to the right of it caused me to jump. My eyes shot over to the door, only to see Gavin standing in the doorway.

“What the fuck is going on here?” His voice boomed. His voice wasn’t as deep as Jameson’s which would have sounded more menacing than anything.

“Gavin, what are you doing here?” I asked, squeezing out from underneath Jameson and hugging my blankets to my chest.

“What am I doing here? What the hell is this guy doing on top of my fiancée?”

I sighed, exasperated, “I’m not your fiancée anymore, Gavin. We ended things a few days ago. It was a mutual thing.”

His hands balled at his sides, “You know that’s just what we do, Bri. We fight, we make up, we get back together.”

“Did you not get my message? I left you a voicemail saying that I was done with all that crap. I don’t want to be with you anymore.”

“Or you just broke up with me so that you could sleep your way through the Los Angeles area.”

Jameson climbed out of bed and stood in front of Gavin. I never realized that Jameson stood almost four inches taller than Gavin until I actually saw them side by side. The one thing I did realize was Jameson was far more built and buff than Gavin was. Tension swirled around the room and I felt rather uncomfortable.

“I think you should be more respectful to the woman in the room,” Jameson said, his tone low and demanding.

“You mean that slut that you were just in bed with?” Gavin spit.

“Excuse me?” I shouted from my spot on the bed.

  Jameson pulled
his arm back and launched a punch into Gavin’s nose before Gavin cried out in pain and crumpled to the floor, “I warned you about being respectful.”

Gavin looked up at Jameson, blood beginning to run down his face, “What the hell?”

I watched in silence as Jameson easily picked up Gavin by the scruff of his shirt and held him against the wall, “Get the fuck out of here, asshole. Bri deserves someone who will treat her with respect and that someone is obviously not you. She doesn’t want you here, so I suggest you leave and never look back.”

Jameson released Gavin’s shirt before he stumbled out of the room. Gavin mumbled something on his way out of the room, but he said it so quietly and across the room that I couldn’t hear him. Jameson closed the door behind Gavin and came back over to the bed, flexing his hand as he walked.

“Jay, are you okay?” I questioned, getting up on my knees and crawling to the edge of the bed to take his hand in mine.

“I should be asking you that, Bri,” he chuckled softly.

Examining his hand once it was in mine, I could tell that there was no significant damage it. That didn’t mean that I wanted to let it go just then. Jameson stood up for me in a way that no man had ever done before. Not only did it make me feel good, but it was downright sexy as fuck. I brought his knuckles up to my lips and brushed a gentle kiss against his skin.

“I’m fine. Sometimes words hurt more than anything, but I know what he said wasn’t true about me…so I can’t let it get to me,” I admitted quietly, sitting back on my heels.

Jameson lifted my chin and our eyes connected, “He was wrong in saying those things about you. I know that you aren’t a slut and that I’m the only guy that you have been seeing while you’ve been here.”
