Chasing Clark (Maple Hart)

Page 6

by Fel Fern

I wanted to feel Clark touching me and fucking me as if he owned me—in some way he did. That night Clark finally claimed my body, he started his conquest.

My heart was his to take.

I was always worried about giving too much of myself to someone else but with Clark, I wasn’t scared. I knew he’d never hurt me or break my heart.

“What do you say we head back to your place after this?” He asked, lifting my cool fingers to his lips and blowing on them gently.

“I like that idea a lot,” I said, grinning.

“Steel yourself,” Clark warned as he stopped the car in front of his family home.

I looked out the windows. The big blue house had an enormous wrap-around porch and gigantic windows. A couple of folks I presumed were members of his family were lingering outside.

I was suddenly nervous. After our dates, we usually went back to my place.

Clark used to have his own apartment but he moved back home after he lost his job.

A pair of teenagers ran past Clark’s car, pointing water guns at each other. Not teenagers, I realized. They were adults just like us.

I blinked at them, thinking I seeing double. A pair of grinning and mischievous twins. One of them squirted water at Clark’s window. Clark let out a growl next to me.

“Why can’t these assholes behave? I told them I was bringing someone,” Clark grumbled under his breath.

Seeing him anxious, made me feel a little better. That was an unkind thought but I took solace in the fact we were in this together.

Today, I was finally going to meet Clark’s mom. Honestly, I was scared shitless. Marissa Bright sounded formidable and Clark was close to her.

  “Come on,” Clark said.

He got out first and to my surprise, opened the door for me. I exited the car. I had a box of chocolate cake with me. I ordered it from a specialized store the night before.

The cake was my little offering for the gathering. I’ve never been to anything like this before. It was just mostly me and my mom growing up because she wasn’t close with my grandparents.

  “Got ya!” A voice said.

  “Duck,” Clark yelled at me.

I froze, unsure what was happening. Clark used his big body as a shield as one of the twins appeared and sprayed water all over Clark’s shirt.

“Aaron,” Clark said in a warning voice. “That shirt was new.”

  “Sorry, Mr. Grumpy.”

I peered from over his shoulder. Aaron didn’t look sorry at all.

“Oh, who’s this? Hey, Todd, look. Clark brought someone!” Aaron yelled.

Clark crossed his big arms over his chest, looking imposing but the two Omegas didn’t seem impressed. Aaron’s twin stood next to him. Both of them squinted at me.

“Er, hi. I’m Dusty,” I finally said.

I held out my hand, unsure who to shake. One of them grasped my fingers and looked at me seriously.

“So, you’re the Omega Clark’s been obsessed with.”

  “Obsessed?” I asked.

“Interested in. Don’t make me sound weird, Todd,” Clark said. Clark let out what sounded like a long-suffering sigh. “Dusty, the guy wearing the red shirt is my cousin Todd. The one in green is Aaron.”

“What’s that? Did you bring us something?” Todd asked.

“You look familiar,” I observed out loud.

“Oh, are you a secret fan of mine, Dusty?” Todd asked, smiling at me.

I look at Clark, who rolled his eyes. “Just because you’re some B-rate soap opera star, doesn’t mean everyone will recognize you, Todd.”

“Oh. I’ve seen your face on a poster before. Days of our Omegas, right?” I asked.

Todd nodded. “So, what’s in the box?”

I opened the box flap and Todd’s eyes went wide.

“I love chocolate cake,” Todd said, licking his lips. “Okay, Dusty you pass.”

  “Um, thanks?”

“That cake’s for my mom,” Clark said.

  “Aw, Clark. Come on.”

Clark gently grabbed my elbow and led me towards the house.

“Let’s not linger outside.” Clark suggested.

We were cornered by more of Clark’s cousins and his brothers. I was getting a little apprehensive.

Most of the time, people didn’t see me. Back in school, I was that kid who never stood out, who lingered in the background.

Today, I was put on the spotlight, but thankfully I didn’t lose my cool.

“Clark, Dusty, over here!” A voice called. Seeing Gideon waving us, I was relieved to see a familiar face. “I’m so glad you could come, Dusty.”

“I’m happy to be here,” I said.

It wasn’t exactly a lie. I might not be completely comfortable being around strangers but this was Clark’s family. I wanted to make an effort to get to know them all better.

“I need to change my shirt,” Clark muttered, tugging at the wet fabric.

“Oh jeez. Let me guess, Aaron and Todd?” Gideon made a face. “They got Garth and me, too.”

“I’ll head upstairs to change.” Clark must be a mindreader, or he must’ve seen the look of panic in eyes, because he asked, “What to see my room?”

“Sure.” It was a cowardly thing to admit, but I was a little daunted by his big family.

They’ve been nothing but nice and polite to me, but I’ve never been around so many people who were curious about me before.

“Guys heads up. Mom’s making her way here,” Gideon said unhelpfully.

  Dusty

I froze in my tracks and spun slowly, seeing a tiny blonde woman striding purposely towards us.

Despite her five-foot-nothing height, Clark’s family members who got in her way stepped aside. The aura surrounding her was nothing I’ve ever felt before.

“Hi, mom, this is Dusty,” Clark said sheepishly next to me.

I was grateful he slid his arm over my shoulders and brought me close. The press of his body, his warmth against mine steadied me.

Clark gave me the confidence I needed to introduce myself to the woman who raised him.

“Hello, ma'am,” I said, offering her my hand.

She surprised me by pulling me away from Clark and giving me a tight hug. Clark snatched my box of chocolate cake before it could be flattened.

“Dusty, it’s so good to finally meet you. Your mom has only told me good things about you. Clark’s been doing the same.”

I gulped. “I hope I live up to your expectations, ma'am.”

“Please, call me Marissa or if you prefer, mom.”

I widened my eyes and snuck a look at Clark.

“Mom, stop trying to scare him off,” Clark said with a huff.

“Enjoy the barbecue.” She patted my flat stomach and then winked at me. She turned to Clark, “I understand that cake is for me?”

Clark surrendered the cake. We watched her walk away. Someone nudged me in the shoulder. Gideon.

“Dude, that was the fastest approval she ever gave,” Gideon told me in a solemn voice. “She must really like you.”

“Or my mom talked me up. They’re good friends,” I explained.

“Nah,” Clark said beside me with a smile. “She just sees what I do.”

  “What’s that?”

  “My mate.”

Clark stole my breath for a few moments at those words. Gideon clapped his hands.

“What’s going on?” Asked Everett. Clark introduced us earlier on.

“Mom just approved of Dusty,” Gideon explained.

Clark grasped my hand and tugged me towards the stairs. “Come on. Let’s go somewhere quiet.”

“Ooh. Clark’s bringing his date to his room,” someone remarked as we climbed the stairs.

I blushed, unsure why I was embarrassed so much. I mean, Clark and I were both adults, and yet I felt like we were teenagers sneaking up to Clark’s room.

  Then I reme
mbered Clark’s cousins and brothers only liked to tease him and by extension, me. They only harbored good intentions.

I could certainly tell they were protective of Clark. It was only natural they were curious about me, the Omega Clark picked.

Clark’s room was located directly in front of the stairs. He gave me a gentle nudge inside and shut the door behind us, sealing off all the noise from downstairs.

“Wow. You were right. Your family is um,” I paused, fumbling for the right word to say.

  “Noisy? Obnoxious? Annoying?” Clark suggested.

I couldn’t answer him right away. Clark peeled off his wet shirt and I simply stared.

I know. I’ve probably seen him naked more times than I could count, but I couldn’t help but admire the hard lines of his body.

Clark knew it as well. “What are you looking at, Omega?”

  “What’s mine,” I whispered.

I was feeling bold and wild, so unlike me at all. Maybe Clark’s brothers and cousins rubbed a little bit of their daring on me.

“I like that. Maybe I shouldn’t bother with changing after all.” Clark walked up to me, his gaze intense.

He reminded me of a predator, zeroing on his prize but I didn’t mind being his prey.

He cornered me against the wall, placing his arms on either side of my head. I touched his left pectoral and imagined his heart, beating erratically just like mine did.

  “Kiss me?”

Clark took my mouth and the kiss was all heat and bite. He pinned my arms over my head, subjected me to more ardent kisses that left me weak in the knees.

When he stopped, I panted. I wanted nothing more than to be tossed over his shoulder, carried to his bed, and be ravaged by him. Then I remembered there was a party going on downstairs.

  “Clark we can’t,” I whispered.

  “I don’t like that word.”

“What about the barbecue? What if some family member walks in on us.”

“They won’t. None of them would dare,” Clark said with such confidence that it blew me away.

  “Okay then.”

Clark released my hands and ran his big and callused fingers down the length of my body. I raised my hands so he could peel off my shirt. Once that was done, I placed a hand over his chest. He raised an eyebrow.

“Sit on the bed,” I said.

Clark smirked, but he did as I asked anyway. I knelt between his legs and reached for the button of his jeans. I unzipped him and pulled his cock out, licking my lips all that while.

“I must’ve done something right for you to give me a blow job,” he said.

“I’ve wanted to do this for ages,” I said.

  “Then get to work, Omega.”

Clark slid his fingers into my hair and tugged my face close until my lips touched the crown of his dick.

I licked away the pre-cum from his tip and began sucking softly on his cock. I took his shaft into my mouth, gagging on my first try. My Alpha was huge.

Hallowing out my cheeks, I tried again and succeeded. I bobbed my head up and down, savoring the salty taste of him in my mouth.

Clark tightened his grip on my hair.

  “Hold still,” he ordered.

I did as he asked, letting him fuck my mouth. With a groan, Clark came. He emptied his jizz down my throat. Clark offered me his hand and helped me to my feet.

“Lie with me,” he said, making space for me on his bed.

Smiling shyly at him, I joined him, loving the feel of our bodies together. We were like two pieces of the same whole.

I wanted to stay like this forever—except I promised to get to know the rest of his family members better.

  “Clark,” I murmured.

He began to pull my pants and boxers down, exposing my ass. Maybe, I thought with a smile, his family could wait a little longer.

I helped my Alpha along, giving him access to what he wanted. What we both wanted.

I moaned when Clark pushed a finger inside my slick asshole. Clark planted a kiss on the side of my neck.

“I like how you’re always ready for me,” he murmured against my ear.

  “Less talking and more fucking.”

I pushed my ass against his fingers only for Clark to slap me on the left buttock. I moaned, needy for him.

Clark added a second finger. He brushed against my prostate, making me squirm in pleasure.

At this rate, I was going to climax and Clark hadn’t even fucked me yet.

He lifted my leg and guided his dick into my asshole. Clark entered me in one push, making me gasp.

I clawed at his sheets, panting as he started to ride me. He started with slow strokes at first, before picking up speed. In moments, he had us both groaning and gasping.

“You close?” He asked against the shell of my ear.

  “Yes.”

“Then come for me, Dusty.” Clark closed his teeth on the side of my neck and bit.

That slight kiss of pain was enough to push me off the edge. I shuddered and came, emptying my balls.

Clark knotted me again. My breath caught. Clark held me close and tender. Linked like this, I felt so intimately joined with him, body, heart, and soul.

I lived for these profound moments. When he finally released me from the knot, I let out a contented sigh. Clark filled my ass with his seed.

Afterward, he pulled his softening prick out and simply held me close to him. I entertained visions of us living in a house just like this one. Okay, maybe a smaller and more manageable house.

I pictured my big and protective Alpha, chasing after our kids. Kids. Plural.

“Penny for your thoughts?” Clark asked behind me.

I told him about my dream without fear this time around. Clark didn’t pull away. He simply left another kiss on the nape of my neck and squeezed my arm.

“We’ll make that a reality soon,” Clark said.

Clark tightened his embrace and I could feel his dick resting against the curve of my ass.

I was a little sore but I wanted him to fuck me again soon.

I turned in his arms to look him in the face. “I love you so much.”

I sucked in a breath. I didn’t even think. Those three damning words just came out.

I put my hand over my mouth, horrified. We haven’t even been dating that long and yet deep down, I knew Clark was the one man I wanted to be with the rest of my life.

Clark was my present and my future. Clark felt the same way, but I had a habit of getting carried with myself.

What if moving at breakneck speed eventually scared my sexy Alpha off?

It turned out I was overthinking things because Clark only flashed me that achingly handsome smile.

  “Love you too, Dusty.”

“Then we’ll see you next Monday, Mr. Bright,” said Gina Smith, the head of HR at Colton and Company.

I shook her hand, smiling. I couldn’t believe I managed to breeze through the first and second rounds of interviews at the small accounting firm.

They just recently set up shop in Maple Hart but I’ve asked around and the CEO seemed to have a good reputation. I left the building, unable to believe my luck.

I couldn’t wait to tell Dusty the amazing news. We’ve been going out for three months now. Twelve wonderful weeks.

With a stable job and a good starting pay, we could finally get a bigger apartment. A month ago, I’ve moved in with him at his place. We figured it was only natural since I spent way more time at his place than my mom’s.

I plucked my phone from the pocket of my trousers and rang him up. It automatically went to voicemail.

  Huh. Odd.

Dusty usually answered my calls instantly. Maybe he was busy with a project. If so, I shouldn’t disturb him. I debating calling one of my brothers but I phoned my mom instead.

“Clark, that’s great news. I’m so happy for you. Does Dusty know?” She asked.

  “Not yet. I think I’m going t
o surprise him with lunch,” I said, feeling frivolous.

Dusty once remarked he wanted to try the food at that fancy Italian place that just opened. It was near our apartment.

I could pick up some pasta and we could have lunch together while I told him the news.

“Clark, when are you going to propose? Also, I’m a little insulted you didn’t ask me for advice. I’m great at picking rings.”

I groaned. I’d asked Everett and Gideon last week to accompany me on a secret mission to get Dusty and I rings.

I should’ve known better than to keep secrets from my mom. I’ve put off presenting the rings to Dusty because I had hoped I’d do it with better news.

After Dusty and I moved in together, I stopped pulling more bartending shifts and focused on getting a better job.

Dusty deserved a reliable and dependable partner, an Alpha who could take care of him.

Sure, Dusty was independent and self-reliant like my cousins and brothers but he needed someone who loved him unconditionally, someone who could stand by his side on equal footing.

My mom asking me about my proposal was the wake-up call I needed. I should stop dilly-dallying and simply ask Dusty to be my husband.

There was no one else I wanted to spend the rest of my life with but him. We were made for each other.

“Mom, I made up my mind. I’m doing it today,” I said.

She let out a squeal and I could hear someone, probably her assistant at the office, asking her what happened.

“Good luck, son,” she said. “I can’t wait to have another grandkid.”

I rolled my eyes. She always kept mentioning grandkids whenever Dusty and I swung by for the weekly family barbecue. It was too much.

Of course Dusty was too good-natured and nice to do anything else but smile back at her. I knew my Omega wanted kids badly and so did I.

It was best to let nature take its course.

I swung by Marco’s, the Italian restaurant Dusty wanted to try, on my way back home.

I ordered two prawn pesto pasta and plenty of garlic bread because I knew Dusty liked those.

I figured some dessert wouldn’t hurt, so I stopped by his favorite bakery and ordered two slices of chocolate cake.
