Cain (Deathstalkers 2nd Generation Book 1)
Page 8
What is he asking me? He sits down in the chair next to the bed and he rests his head on me. After an audible breath he looks up, “I want to put my last name on her papers. I want to give that little girl a home, a normal life, and a family. This is a big thing and if you aren’t—“
“Yes,” I say it but my voice breaks toward the end.
“Are you sure? You don’t have to say yes. Our relationship is new and I know that this is something that can really change things. I don’t want—“
I motion for the water and he helps me take another drink. I move my finger toward him motioning him to get closer to me so I can whisper. “I love you Cain Russell. I love your heart, and the kindness you have inside of you. I love how from the moment we met that night you have protected me like you’ve known me your whole life. I love that you want to protect this little girl from being hurt and that you’re willing to love her like your own.”
“I don’t want to just love her like she’s my own. I want you and Amy to be my family too. I want to find a house and have some place I could look forward to coming home to. A place where we could all grow together.” He takes my hand, “will you move in with me?”
I nod my head as a tear slips down my cheek.
The door to the room opens and a doctor walks in.
“I am going to go over to Lily’s room then I’ll be back okay?” I nod and he places a kiss on my lips.
“You got yourself a good one there.” The doctor comments and I look over at him.
“I do.”
Chapter Eighteen
Emma
Three months later
Amy and Lily run across the yard just as the moving truck pulls in followed by at least ten motorcycles. Cain hops out of the truck with a huge smile on his face. “You know seeing you here like this is something I could really get used to.”
“Oh really?” I say as I wrap my arms around his neck. “Guess that’s it’s a good thing that we are moving in then huh?”
“Oh you have no idea baby.” He picks me up and spins me around.
“Ewe!” Amy yells as the girls come running up. “Can you guys stop doing that all the time?”
“Yea, dad. It’s gross.” Lily says, her blond hair blowing in the wind.
Cain bends down picking Lily up. “You remember that kissing boys is gross until you’re at least thirty. Got it?”
She laughs as he tickles her. The two of them have really formed a bond and its amazing to see. Cain was there when Lily woke up and asked her what she thought if he made her a part of her family. He said she seemed confused at first but said it sounded like fun. Within a couple days you would have never known that she went through the tragedy she did.
“You know babe,” I look up at him as he puts Lily down. “I think these girls might need a boy to keep them on their toes and threaten any boyfriends that might try and come around.”
“Oh really?” I say in shock at what he’s talking about.
“Yea I think it’s inevitable.” He shrugs before smiling at me.
“You drive me crazy Cain Russell.”
He pulls me close pressing a kiss to my lips.
“And you make me happier than I ever thought possible Emma Sanders.”

About The Author:
I love reading romance books! I feel like being able to lose yourself in a book in one of the more exciting aspects. The books I love to read and write will be ones that make you feel for the characters. You should have an opinion on every character in a book. Whether you love them, hate them, or think they are up to something.
I live in Philadelphia Pennsylvania with my husband, and three kids. On top of starting a writing career I am a full time student, and a full time mom. I love spending time with my kids, although I have to hide the computer from them when I am writing! I love being active and being able to do any activity outdoors.
I have always thought as an author the most important critic is your reader, so I would love to hear from you. If you read the book and loved it or hated it, tell me. As long as it is in a constructive way I will always answer and interact with you. I want fans to feel free to tell me what they want for the characters in the story and what they want to see happen.
