Now isn’t the time. Ten minutes from now? Hell yeah. But not right now.

“What time is it?” Amber asked as she sat up.

“You’ve been out for an hour,” John replied as he slowly eased himself to the side of the bed and rolled out, careful not to make any jerky movements that would agitate his wound. “But we need to talk to you, so it’s time to wake up.”

She laughed nervously as she sat up, pulling the sheet with her. I moved around the bed until I found her shirt and handed it to her, watching as her eyes became even more worried.

“Uh-oh. I need clothes for this?” she asked with a forced chuckle. “Must be serious.”

  “It is,” I said solemnly.

The smile dropped off her face instantly. “Oh god, what’s wrong? Is someone hurt?”

John chuckled as he pulled on his pants and shook his head. I followed suit and reached for my jeans, not wanting my dick to ruin the moment. Because even in an oversized t-shirt, my body still reacted to her. Thankfully, one glance at John’s crotch confirmed that it wasn’t just me who had that problem.

Suddenly remembering what caused me to wake her up so abruptly in the first place, I grimaced and ran to the bathroom to quickly wash my arm. After I was clean, I came back out and pointed at John’s smiling face.

  “You’re an asshole.”

  “I love you, too, buddy.”

“Dick,” I mumbled under my breath as I crossed the room to dig out the boxes from where I had hidden them in my dresser when we first got home.

I returned to the bed and sat down on the edge next to Amber, handing John his two boxes and holding on to the other two. She looked confused as hell, but also intrigued.

“What’s going on?” she asked, her head whipping back and forth between the two of us.

John nodded and we both moved to stand in front of her.

“Our relationship is never going to be accepted as normal,” John said slowly. “We want to make damn sure that you’re aware of that before we continue.”

She frowned and nodded. “I know that.”

John looked to me and I cleared my throat before continuing.

“But normal or not, it feels right to us. We’re both in love with you, Amber, but there isn’t a way for us to both legally marry you.”

Her eyes widened for a moment, then darted down to the boxes in our hands with fear. Another man might have mistaken it as fear of being asked at all, but I instinctively knew what she was really afraid of.

“We’re not asking you to choose,” I assured her, watching as the worry immediately drained from her face only to be replaced by a confused frown.

  “Then what are you asking?”

John slowly lowered to the floor and I did the same, dropping to one knee and gazing up at her confused, but smiling face. We opened our boxes at the same time to reveal the identical, white-gold wedding bands.

“We want you to marry both of us. It won’t be legal, but it doesn’t matter.”

“The rings are only different on the inside. They each have our names inscribed in them.”

“One John and one Allen?” she asked for confirmation.

  “Exactly.”

“What’s in the other two boxes?” she asked, pointing to where I had placed my second box on the floor.

“Those are for us. If you say yes, we’ll have our own bands to wear.”

Her eyes were tearing up as she looked between our faces and the rings.

“Do your rings have my name in them?”

“Yes,” I confirmed with a nod. “Amber, baby, I love you so much and—”

  “Yes! Yes to both!”

My mouth snapped closed and I frowned, looking over to John as I said, “There goes our whole speech.”

“Dude, she said yes. Who gives a fuck about the speech?”

I watched as he removed the ring from his box and slid it onto her offered finger before she turned and lifted her hand to me.

I pouted while I slid the band on her finger and muttered, “All that speech planning right down the fucking drain.”

“I want to put yours on,” she said excitedly, ignoring my pout. “And Allen, if you really want to, you can give me the speech after.”

“Really?” I asked, handing her the box containing my ring.

“Mm-hm. We’ll see if you can recite it while I’ve got my lips wrapped around your cock.”

John’s eyebrows raised. “Sounds like a challenge.”

I groaned, but smiled as I gave her my left hand so she could slide the ring on my finger. Once in place, she whispered, “Till death to do us part.”

The action and words were repeated with John, then the two of us both grabbed for her at the same time, pulling her down to the floor and immediately removing the t-shirt.

We didn’t even make it back to the bed, the three of us just turning into a sweaty pile of limbs on the floor. I failed the challenge, unable to even remember my own fucking name as she expertly sucked my cock while John slowly pounded into her from behind.

It wasn’t normal or traditional or legal, but then again, none of those words could be used to describe John or myself or our jobs or anything in our entire fucking lives.

But it made us happy and in the end, that was all that really mattered.
