My Vampire Idol

She wrapped her legs around his waist and rocked her hips against his. It wasn’t enough. Without lifting her lips from his she reached out blindly for his hand, tugging it down between their bodies and under her skirt, showing him what she wanted.

He moaned, pressing his forehead against hers as he tugged the fragile fabric of her underwear aside and caressed her wet sex with his fingers in a way that drove her mad. “You are a tempting woman, aren’t you? You used your wiles to make me forget where we are. Who you are. Used how you can make them feel to try to seduce me.”

She bit his lower lip hard enough to get his attention. “Demon. Half-demon,” she corrected. “And you know how demons are when they want someone.”

Or did he? The way he stilled made her wonder.

“Don’t tell me you’ve never been with one of us before, vampire.”

His expression surprised her again. She breathed out a laugh. “Oh, you poor thing. You have no idea what you’ve been missing.”

His finger slipped deep inside her and she gasped in delight when he groaned, “Show me.”

Yes. Rose hadn’t been with a vampire in decades, hadn’t wanted to, but this one was different. She could already feel his passion reaching out to her, feeding her and fueling her desire.

Her blood started to burn and she knew her eyes were glowing red with arousal. She would show him. “We’re shameless, you know. Demons? Without shame. There’s no point in being ashamed of your desires. No point in denying them or fighting them. We live to give in to them. No matter how debauched. No matter how depraved. We deny ourselves nothing. Not like you.”

Her words hummed against his beard and she closed her teeth on the flesh of his neck, nipping his skin. “You deny your thirst, I hear. Deny your nature. You wouldn’t have to with me. My blood is human as well—you could have as much as you wanted without fear of hurting me. As long as you give me what I want in return, that’s a price I’d be willing to pay.”

Mac set her down and stepped away so abruptly she almost tipped over. “No.”

What was happening? She must have misunderstood him. “What?”

His cheeks were flushed, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he regained his control. “I don’t make deals with demons, Rose. Not even one as enticing as that. As you. Go back and tell your clients they will have to deal with me themselves. I won’t be as generous with the next demon who hunts me.”

“You—but you…” He wanted her. She knew he did.

His laugh was harsh. “Saint tells me I can trust you, but I believe his is wishful thinking. You are one luscious flower in a deadly garden, but there’s too much at stake. He should know that.”

She was struggling to overcome her shock and anger when a breathless, hesitant voice called from the stage. “Angus? Angus are you and your duet partner still back there?”

Mac stepped in front of Rose, as if shielding her from view when the short, round woman poked her head around the curtains.

“I’m here,” he responded stiffly. “I apologize for disrupting your competition, Jolene. And for my...partner’s interruption.”

Rose could hear the astonishment in the woman’s voice. “Disruption? Angus, you are my hero, no mistake about it. If I weren’t so in love with Hobie that I apparently can’t keep my hands off him in public, I would kiss you. Don’t you know? With you two in our corner we might have a chance to win this. Hobie says you aren’t from around here, so you might not be aware of how hard the local kids have been working. They’ve all been doing odd jobs and spending their weekends going door to door to get money to fill the library and rebuild the gym after the fire. No one cares about us out here in the middle of nowhere, and we can fend for ourselves for the most part…it’s the kids Hobie is worried about. But now that you’re here, we’ll get you to Vegas and, if you make it to the finals, they are guaranteed some funding.”

Rose’s eyes were opened so wide she had a momentary concern they might pop out of her head. She moved closer and Mac tensed when he sensed her behind him.

“Jolene, I appreciate your dilemma,” he said carefully. “And while I can’t actually enter this contest of yours, I’m delighted to say I can have the money immediately sent to the school to make the necessary repairs. It is the least I can do for your kindness and understanding.”

Rose looked around Mac in time to see Jolene frown and shake her head adamantly, stepping back in denial. “We couldn’t do that. The town entering this contest was really the children’s idea, Angus. A way for us to put our name on the map while we earned the money, you see? They don’t need a handout. They need something to root for. Something to hope for. No one else around here seems to understand, but after hearing you sing I thought you, of all people, would.”

Then Jolene noticed Rose and smiled kindly. “You two must have practiced a long time to get that good. I’ve never been so…moved by a duet in all my life, Miss…?”

Rose nudged her way passed the stiff vampire and held out her hand. “Rose is my name. And yes. Angus and I are a team. And I, for one, would not want to let those poor kids down. A school without a library?” She shook her head mournfully, fighting off a smile. “That is the biggest tragedy I can think of. We’ll be proud to represent you.”

“Will we now?” Mac spoke to her through his tight smile.

Rose went and curved her arm around Jolene’s shoulder, letting Mac see the flash of red in her eyes. “We will. Unless you want me to call my sisters instead. They’d be more than happy to fly out and convince you to agree.”

Maybe it was for the sheer enjoyment of watching Mac flounder as he searched for a plausible reason to disagree. Maybe it was out of spite because he’d rejected her and she was still in need. Or maybe it was the idea of spending a little more time with him, showing him how to have a good time in Las Vegas and getting another crack at seducing the stubborn Scot…she wasn’t sure, but with every awkward moment that passed she was more convinced it was the right move.

“Come on, Angus,” she cajoled. “Let’s take our act on the road. For the kids. For Jolene and Hobie. For fun.”

When he sighed and shook his head in resignation, Jolene jumped up and down in Rose’s embrace and then rushed to wrap her arms affectionately around the dangerous vampire. “I was right. You are our hero, Angus. I’ll get Hobie to pack our things and give the bar keys to Dickie. I can’t wait to see you two on a Las Vegas stage! You’re both made for the spotlight.”

After Jolene disappeared in a rush Mac gripped Rose’s arm. “What game are you playing at, demon?”

Rose smirked. “Humans call it chicken, buddy. And I so won that round.”

  “Only if I agree.”

She licked her lower lip and saw his icy eyes darken at the action. “You will. You’re her hero, Mac. How many times does a vampire get to hear that from a human?”

“You won’t call in the others?”

Rose shook her head. “Not until we win.”

And until she’d gotten what she wanted from the giant, sexy prude.

  It could take days.

  Chapter Three

Why does your phone’s GPS say are you in Las Vegas?

Whose stupid idea was that? Do you need our help?

My stupid ideas aren’t life threatening and usually they’re a lot more fun.

Is Rose still alive? Just curious.

  -Saint

“I don’t need another damn demon!” Mac tossed his phone onto the bed and stripped off his clothes as he strode to his shower in the penthouse suite of the Venetian.

What the hell was he doing in Las Vegas? Other than waiting on the steps of his home in Scotland to be found, he could not have chosen a worse place to remain unnoticed. His kind loved this city—everything happened at night, people went missing all the time and no one noticed. Las Vegas was an all-you-can-eat buffet of humanity flavored with desperation and served up warmed to perfection from the heat of the bright neon lights.

  Rose. He w
as here because of Rose.

She was in the other shower. He could hear the water pounding against her skin as she hummed softly under her breath. He could smell the soap she was lathering over her breasts.

Jesus, she had beautiful breasts. And her legs… Long and strong enough to squeeze around him as he powered inside her, his fangs sunk into those lush, tempting—

Mac swore, turning on the water to drown her out. She was a demon bounty hunter, a member of an elite group of she-devils that had been sent after him to ensure his retrieval. He’d expected to be trussed up and on his way to London or Louisiana by now to face judgment in whatever court they’d assigned him to.

  He hadn’t expected this.

Hobie and Jolene were in the suite one floor below, having followed them to Las Vegas, determined to support their team. Mac had forced them to accept the luxurious accommodations in the hotel instead of sleeping in their van. He’d been insistent—for the most part to assuage his own guilt for wishing he’d run out on them instead of agreeing to this ridiculous, blasted joke of a singing competition.

It was a joke, and a bad one at that. There was no way it could end well. He wanted to be able to blame Thomas or Saint, but this dangerous decision was his, just as it had been his choice to accept the movie deal.

Rose had backed him into a corner…but he’d let her.

He stepped under the spray and closed his eyes, seeing her as clearly as if she were standing in front of him. From the moment he’d caught her scent and heard her sweet, sexy voice twining around his, he’d known she was no ordinary demon. When she’d stood beside him on stage, watching him with desire in her eyes—desire he could sense everyone in the room reacting to—he wasn’t unaffected. It had pissed him off almost as much as it turned him on.

She tempted him more than a woman had been able to in more years than he cared to admit. Even now he wasn’t sure how he’d managed to resist, how he’d held back from taking what she’d offered right there, against the wall in the Belly Up Bar when his hand was up her skirt.

As hard as he’d been, if she hadn’t been a hunter, Mac knew he wouldn’t have held back. He would have taken her on stage, right in front of the human patrons of that small dive. Anywhere, as long as he could have her. It should have made him wary, how strong his attraction was to this half succubus gun-for-hire.

Human. Part of her is human.

He could reach out and touch that half of her if he wanted to. Feel what she was feeling. It would be more challenging than it was with an ordinary human—her demon blood offered protection from enchantment and illusion…but not from emotions. He’d known Saint long enough to know that. But then Saint had rejected so many aspects of what he was. He’d chosen to immerse himself in humanity and used his gifts as a technophile instead of his incubus genetics.

Rose, he sensed, didn’t put the same restrictions on herself. She made no apologies for the part of her nature that was strong enough to override her mission to capture him so that she could indulge in her sexual desires.

He’d heard things about the members of The Devil’s Garden. The erotic, carnal and often violent ways they had to insure a prisoner’s obedience and submission. How many vampires had Rose subdued with those thighs and the honey between them? She said that wasn’t her area, but Mac had a hard time believing any of her sisters could hold her unique appeal. For a man like him, her voluptuous body and playful demeanor was irresistible.

Some masochistic part of him needed to know whether or not she truly wanted him. Was she using her gifts to distract him, to get him too hot and bothered to keep his guard up? Or was it something more? In truth he didn’t care. Despite his denial, he wanted her. Ruse or folly, if he was going to do this—sing on stage at one of the most popular hotels in town—he was going to have her before he was found and taken in.

You need to get closer to her. Need to touch her to be sure.

He didn’t, but Mac gave in to the voice in his head and allowed himself to join the steam, to become nothing more than mist as he thought of her. He’d never used this ability to spy on a woman before, but he was beyond caring. He needed to see her.

When he joined her in her shower, it took every bit of restraint he had not to retake his true form and reach for her.

She was a siren. A goddess. Every inch the daughter of a succubus. Every lush curve designed to bring him to his knees. To give and receive pleasure. She ran her hands across her breasts, the soft curve of her stomach and he moved closer, hypnotized. He’d come here to get answers but…he couldn’t remember what the questions were. He couldn’t think of anything but her wet, flushed skin, the scent that was uniquely hers invading his senses.

She sat on the marble bench and leaned back with a contented sigh, arching her back in a feline move that drew his attention to her hard, bitable nipples.

Spread your legs, he begged silently and, as if she heard his request, Rose complied.

  Yes.

Mac didn’t allow himself to think about what he was doing or wonder about the ramifications—he was too consumed with lust for coherent thought. He just wanted in.

He heard her startled moan of desire as he filled her, stroking inside her like the fingers of a lover, thrusting slowly in and out of her sex, knowing how tightly she would fit around his cock. He could see himself taking her here, like this. Lifting her legs over his arms and fucking her without restraint. She could take everything he could give. She wasn’t human. She would want more.

The possibilities were driving him crazy.

Oh you poor thing. You have no idea what you’ve been missing.

He wanted to fucking find out.

She spread her legs wider as his mist enveloped her body—curling around her nipples, caressing her skin…fucking her.

“Yes,” she gasped. “Oh, fuck yes.”

Her hands pressed against the marbled tile on either side of her for balance as she lifted her hips—begging him with her body. Mac gave her what she wanted, focusing on thickening the mist, stretching her, slipping around and down until he was pressing insistently between the cheeks of her delicious, round ass.

Rose went wild. “Yes. Do it. I want you to.” She stood up and turned around spreading her legs again and placing her hands on the bench as she bent over. “Please, Mac. I’ll do anything.”

Oh God. She knew. Knew he was there and wanted him as desperately as he wanted her. Her words had taken away what was left of his control—he realized it when his strong, solid hands gripped her hips and his thumbs spread her cheeks for the erection pushing against her tight, resistant muscles. “Jesus.”

“Yes,” she moaned. “Yes, fuck my ass. Take me. Make me take you. Every—oh yes—inch. ”

What kind of power did this demon have over him? He thrust slowly inside her and growled. “Do you like that, demon? Can you take more?”

“Everything,” she whimpered, her hips pressing impatiently back against him. “It’s so big. So thick. Give me all of it now, Mac. Fuck me now.”

The dark desires inside him demanded nothing less. One hand left her hip to grip her long, dark curls. He tugged and she shivered. “Demanding, are you? Is it a fucking or a spanking you want?”

“Both,” she laughed breathlessly. “I’ve been imagining you spanking me since we sang. Oh, Mac, that feels good. Deeper… Spanking me with your strong, rough hands…hard smacks until it stings. Until I’m red. But I can’t move. You won’t untie me until I promise to be good.”

He bit his lip, as aroused by her words as he was by the tightness squeezing his cock. He curled his body over her back to whisper in her ear. “Will you? Will you promise to be a good girl for me?”

“Why don’t you try me and find out, vampire?”

A challenge. Jesus, she was without shame. Without fear. Seemingly without sexual limitations. It was liberating. So freeing he would laugh if he weren’t so close to coming.

He tugged on her hair again. “You’ll get what you’re asking
for, that I promise you.” He thrust deep and they both groaned. “Rose, you’re a witch. It feels too good…”

“Yes. I can feel it. Don’t fucking stop.”

He couldn’t if he wanted to. Couldn’t speak, could only grip her hair and her hip, his body helpless to do anything but pump against her, reveling in the wicked sensation. Hard as he wanted. All that he wanted. Everything.

He wanted her blood. God forgive him. He wanted everything. “Rose…”

“Yes, my vampire. Take what you need.”

She knew. As if she could read him, she knew. Mac felt the tremor, the hunger rising inside him when he opened his mouth over her neck. He slid the hand on her hip around and thrust two fingers in her wet sex as his fangs extended and pierced her flesh.

Madness. Her blood was a madness that instantly pervaded his senses. He could taste her desire, knew she was hungry too. Knew he would give her what she needed—his passion. She fed off it like a vampire fed off human blood. It was her chocolate. Her drug.

  She could easily become his.

There was danger in her demon blood. It burned down his throat and intensified every sensation and emotion. It made him wild. The predator he’d always resisted becoming. The hungry animal acting on instinct and lust. He thrust hard and deep until he was buried inside her, his fingers rough as they fucked her, his fangs still puncturing her skin. He saw the blood dripping down the curve of her breast and he forced himself to lift his mouth, roaring in denial as he came so hard it nearly blinded him.

She’d shattered him. Broken down hundreds of years of walls as if they were made of no more than mist. As a vampire, he had never felt so alive. A warrior’s cry of victory tightened his throat. Never had he wanted anything as fiercely as the new desire clawing inside him.

To have her again. To taste her again. Her blood. Her sweet blood. To fuck her. To keep her.

Rose was screaming his name as she found her own climax, her body bucking in his embrace—as lost to it as he had been.

He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her back against him, licking the blood from her shoulder tenderly as she shuddered. “That’s right,” he soothed. “That’s so good, Rose.”
