Chapter 8

  Ford~

It was Saturday night and my birthday party at Samson and Duke’s was just what we’d expect from Eastwood. Everyone was here and everyone was having a good time. The house had been closed off, but there was a pool house that we were using for everything that we needed.

There was also the fact that my parents had gotten me a car for my birthday, revealing it at dinner on Tuesday. Duke had been over, and I think he’d been more excited about the black Nissan 370Z than I had been. When I had insisted it was too much, my mom and stepdad and insisted it wasn’t. They had joked that all the money I saved them on daycare for the twins was what had bought the car. Later that evening, they had told me they’d been saving all the child support checks my dad had been forced to pay because Roy hadn’t felt right using them to support me. He had told me that I was his son, DNA be damned, and he took supporting me every bit as seriously as he supported Rachel and Tally.

The moment had choked me up.

And from there, the week had just kept getting better. With Amelia no longer fighting me and Steele on board with our relationship, I had pressured Amelia into inviting me over for dinner Thursday evening where I had announced I was dating Amelia and I had every intention of continuing to date her until I could wear her down enough to marry me.

  Her mother had stuttered.

Her father had told me it sounded like I had a firm plan in place.

  Steele had just laughed.

I knew, sooner or later, we were going to have to have to talk about our future and college, but I was certain we could work something out. We had months to figure it out, and if I had to, I’d follow her. Watching my mom and dad trying to make it work, only to end up miserable and divorced, I knew I didn’t want to settle. I knew it when my mom had met Roy, and they showed me what real love was supposed to be like. I wanted what my mom and Roy had, so I’d sacrifice what I needed to because, even at only the age of eighteen, I knew Amelia was it for me. I felt it whenever she’d roll her eyes at me and treated me like a person who was fallible and not some football god.

And now, we were in one of the guest rooms while everyone else was outside probably looking for me to wish me a happy birthday. Even though the house was closed off to the party, Samson and Duke considered us family. We weren’t held to the same set of rules as everyone else. When I had confessed that I’d rather be sitting alone on the couch with Amelia instead of entertaining all of Eastwood High, Samson had told me to go inside and pick a room. I laughed when he said as long as it wasn’t his, Duke’s, or his parents.

I was also pleasantly surprised when Amelia had no objections to coming inside with me. All week had been hand holding and chaste kisses because I had wanted to prove to this girl that she wasn’t just another castoff. The night we spent together was never far from my mind, but I’d bet my left nut that Amelia probably didn’t see that night as anything special. Given my reputation, she probably thought she had been given the Abrams-Special and hasn’t really put much more thought into it. And if that’s what she thought, she was wrong.

Amelia smiled up at me from where she was perched on the bed. “You don’t consider it rude to skip out on your own party?”

I glanced out the second-story window at the crowd in the backyard and shrugged my shoulder. “I don’t even speak to half those people out there,” I replied before looking back over at her.

She laughed. “Oh, the perils of popularity,” she mocked dramatically.

“Football in a football town,” I remarked.

Amelia cocked her head. “I hate to break it to you, Abrams, but I think you’d get attention even if you didn’t play football.”

  “You think?”

Her dark brown eyes ran down the length of my body and back up again. “You’re kind of hard to miss,” she replied softly. “Even if you weren’t as good-looking as you are, you’re a big guy.”

“Come here,” I commanded. I didn’t want to talk about my looks or size. I didn’t want to talk about all those kids down there, or how popular I was.

  I just wanted my girl.

Amelia stood and made her way over to me. When she was standing in front of me, she tilted her head back and said, “Are you finally ready to quit holding my hand?”

My arms snaked out and wrapped around her body, pulling her close. “I’m never going to get tired of holding your hand.”

She smirked. “Okay. Are you finally ready to quit just holding my hand?”

My grin was cocky as I asked, “Are you ready to admit that the night we were together was the best night of your life?” Amelia let out a laugh that sounded like music. Or it could be that I was just whooped stupid; that was a possibility.

She escaped from my arms and I watched my girlfriend as she took slow, measured steps backwards. “Maybe,” she teased.

I arched a brow. “Is that a challenge?”

“Maybe.” This time her voice was low and raspy, and that told me she knew damn well that night we were together was the best night of both our fucking lives.

The best way I could describe it was stalking. I stalked towards her, my predator to her prey. When the bed hit the back of her legs, she watched in rapt fascination as I descended upon her.

With her chest hitting my stomach, I took her face in my hands. “I’m going to ruin you for everyone else, Amelia,” I promised. “There will never be anyone else.”

Her breathing became pants and her eyes were wide with want. I already knew what it was like to have her, but tonight would be different. Tonight, she was here with me because she actually liked me. She was here as my girlfriend, and not some confused girl hellbent on revenge. Whatever had led her to Sloan’s party that night was no longer a factor. Her emotions were all mine now.

  She was all mine now.

“I’ve imagined this a million times over since that night,” she confessed. “I just never thought we’d be here again.”

I shook my head. “We’re not here again,” I corrected. “We’re here for the first time, Amelia. This isn’t one night of sex where we pretend we hadn’t been rocked to our cores. This is way more than one night of sex.”

She gave me a small, tentative nod. “Do…do you have a condom?”

The corner of my lip tilted. “What do you think?”

Her soft laugh was followed by, “I should have known. Of course, Ford Abrams would have a condom on him.” She shook her head. “A girl can always count on you to be ready for sex.”

  My heart dropped.

She laughed and there was a grin on her face, but her words had hit something inside somewhere. Maybe it was the reminder that I’ve been with a lot of girls when we were about to become intimate for the first time as a serious couple. Or maybe it was how she used the words ‘a girl’ as if she were just another interchangeable female in my life. But her words struck a dark chord somewhere inside me.

I stepped back and looked down at her. “See, that confuses me a bit,” I said, my voice even. “I used to always view it as a girl could always count on me to protect her.”

Amelia immediately sensed the change in the room. “Ford, I-”

I could feel myself getting irritated, and I didn’t know how to pull back the feeling. “I don’t chase pussy, Amelia,” I continued, my voice still even, if a bit cold. “I never have-I never had to.” It wasn’t bragging. Just simply stating facts. “Girls come after me. They chase me, Amelia. They’ve been throwing themselves at me since the first time we won a championship our freshman year. So, I did what I thought I was supposed to. I protected them when, otherwise, they’d been more careless with themselves or their health all for the sake of popularity.” I took another step back. “I don’t carry around condoms because I’m always looking for sex or am always ready for it. I carry them around, so that when a girl shows up at a party, determined to sleep with a random stranger for revenge or a dare or whatever, she’s protected against her poor judgement. And, trust me, when I tell you that every gir
l who has ever slept with me for the sake of popularity has exercised poor judgement. You think I used girls for sex, but what do you think they did, Amelia? Most of them were using me too. And that was fine until you stood there, minutes away from giving yourself to me, and judged me for carrying condoms.”

Her beautiful chocolate orbs were glassy with unshed tears by the time I was done with my little speech. I hadn’t meant to make her feel bad, but I was struggling to make her see that she meant something to me, and it wasn’t working out.

  “Ford…I-”

I shook off whatever she was about to say. “Why don’t we just go back to the party?”

The first tear dropped, and I knew I was fucked.

  Chapter 9

  Amelia~

His words had hit the center of my chest like well-aimed daggers. I had been teasing, and it never occurred to me that Ford would take exception to my choice of words. But when he mentioned how I had been reckless that night of Sloan Jackson’s party, and it had been him who had taken on the responsibility of keeping me protected, my heart had felt like it had been kicked in

  I had to fix this.

“Ford, I swear, I didn’t mean it like that,” I rushed out, swiping at the tears that had escaped during his withdrawal. “I was…I was just teasing. I…I…” He let out a deep sigh and I knew I was losing this moment with him. “Ford, I don’t care what you did before me,” I told him honestly. “It’s not my business and I’m not judging you for it.” I thought back to that apology I never got around to giving. “That night I overstepped and told you guys off, it was…I didn’t like seeing Wendy Allen all over you. I had gotten jealous and then…Raiden dismissing Charlie the way he did…” I shook my head. “Your past really isn’t an issue for me, Ford. I promise.”

His cool blue eyes narrowed down at me. “Tell me why it doesn’t matter to you?”

“Because I don’t want to be a hypocrite,” I replied. “How fair would it be for me to wish that you’d never been with those girls while I was giving my everything to Earnest and my relationship with him?” I sighed. “One could even argue that Earnest being around would be more of a threat to our relationship than all those girls you’ve been with. One guy who had my affection, loyalty, and virginity is more dangerous than a hundred girls who’ve never had yours.” I stepped towards him and held his blue gaze. “But I have yours,” I continued. “I have all the important things you’ve never given anybody else and that’s why I don’t care about any of the other girls you’ve been with.”

Ford’s hands were in my hair, and he was looming over me as he said, “I’m pretty sure I’m going to be in love with you by the time the sun comes up tomorrow, Amelia. That being said, I won’t settle for comfortable affection and loyalty from you.” His hands tightened in my hair. “I won’t settle for anything less than everything, Amelia.”

  He already had it.

However, before I could get the words out, his lips were on mine, and we were attacking each other in a desperate bid to prove our words true. Clothes were being torn off and I knew tonight was going to be a million times better than that first night together.

  I could feel it.

I could feel it in the way Ford wanted me. I could feel it in his touch. I could feel it in his kiss. I could just feel it all.

Breaking off the kiss, he panted, “You’re going to have to cut me some slack here, Amelia.”

My ears were barely registering what he was saying. All I wanted was his body over mine, consuming me, claiming me. “What?”

Ford grabbed my hips, picked me up, and dropped me on the bed. His body slid over mine, and we were completely naked, desperation overriding romance. “I’ve never done this before,” he said, confusing the hell out of me. “I’m probably going to shoot off like a rocket as soon as I get inside you.”

“Wh…what?” I searched his eyes as he peered down at me. “What do you mean?”

“Baby, I’ve never had sex with a girl I cared about before,” he clarified. “I don’t know if my heart can take this…intensity.”

Tears leaked out like a busted faucet. My hand wrapped around his neck and I pulled him down for a kiss. We were all lips and tongue as I kissed this boy like my life depended on it.

He broke off the kiss and his lips started their journey down my neck to my chest. I let out a deep moan when Ford’s large, rough, warm hands gathered my flesh and started kneading and playing. His lips found my right nipple, and the wet, warm suckle had my back arching. “Oh, God…”

Ford took his time paying extra attention to the hardened peaks of my breasts and his devotion to the act took me back to that first night. I remembered how he had paid attention to every little detail about my body and its responses. And I knew we were going to always be explosive like this because Ford was never going to give me only half.

My hands tangled in his hair as he left my breasts and kissed his way further south. I spread my legs without shame because there was no reason for it. That first night together, we hadn’t set any limits, so there weren’t going to be any tonight either. Nor would there ever be. And I couldn’t wait to experience it all over again with him.

The first swipe of his tongue down my center had me calling out his name. “Ford…”

“You like that, baby?” It was a rhetorical question. He knew I did.

  “Yes,” I moaned. “Don’t stop.”

I felt his fingers spread me open, his tongue dancing on my clit. “Never. I’ll never stop eating your delicious, sweet smelling pussy.” I groaned like a porn star.

My eyes closed, my head thrown back against the pillow, I laid there as Ford’s tongue and fingers explored every fold and left nothing untouched. When he finally stuck two fingers inside my desperate channel, my moans became positively shameless. “Yes, please…”

Ford slid another finger deep inside me and it felt decadent. “Tell me how many fingers you need, Amelia,” he naughtily asked. “How many do you need to get your pussy ready for my cock?”

  What a fucking question.

Ford’s dick was every bit as impressive as his massive size and I didn’t think he had enough fingers on one hand to prepare me for his invasion.

“Please, Ford…” I didn’t have to say anything more. I begged and he delivered.

His face between my legs, his tongue working my clit as his fingers stretched me wide, my hips rose to meet his demands, and we didn’t stop until I was crying out and cumming all over his face and fingers. “Oh, God…oh, oh…”

“Fuck, yeah,” he rasped against my center. “Make a mess for me, baby.”

That should have embarrassed me since we were in Samson’s guest room, but it didn’t. Nothing mattered but being with Ford and basking in what he was doing to my body. To my mind and heart, too, if I was being honest.

My eyes were drifting, and I could vaguely make out the sounds of foil ripping and Ford’s grumbles, but the next thing I knew, he had one knee hooked over his right arm, and he was slamming home.

My back bowed and my scream could probably be heard down at the party. “Ford!”

“Christ, your pussy’s so fucking tight,” he bit out. “You feel so fucking good. So good.”

  “Oh, God…Ford…”

It was a struggle to get words out because I felt like he was possessing more than just my body. He was possessing my mind and robbing me of any coherent thoughts. His large body was covering me, and he was pushing his entire length and width into me like he might never leave. It was painful and unbelievably fulfilling at the same time.

“Look at me,” Ford demanded. “Look at me, Amelia.”

I opened my eyes, and bright, intense blue ones locked onto mine. “Mine,” he grunted. “You’re mine, Amelia.”

I felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest with as much emotion as this moment was capturing. I felt like I was his. I felt it everywhere. “Yours,” I whispered back.

His jaw was clenched, and he looked violent.
And I’m yours,” he said as his body crashed into mine. His thrusts were…angry. Insistent. “Say it, Amelia. Tell me I’m yours, too.”

My nails broke open his flesh as every inch of his hardness bottomed out in my womb. “Oh, God…” I screamed.

“Say it!” he thundered, his body taking me to the edge with its loss of control.

“Mine,” I choked out between each assault on my body. “Mine, Ford. You’re mine.”

  “Baby…”

“Oh, God…don’t stop, Ford,” I begged, matching his thrusts, reaching for that feeling I’ve only felt with him. “Please…”

“Cum on my cock, Amelia,” his demand a rumble from his chest. “Cum for me.”

Wetness coated my fingertips as my nails raked down his back in an explosion so intense, spots danced behind my eyes and my voice broke on my screams. My body was a kaleidoscope of unmatched sensations as Ford rode me through the blast of pleasure to take me up and over another peak. Only then, did he finally slam into me with a final stamp of ownership, releasing himself inside my protected body. Something I was extremely grateful for.

But, also, something we were going to have to talk about.

  Chapter 10

  Ford~

The party was still in full-swing, and I knew I’d have to make another appearance at some point, if only, because my real friends were still down there having a good time. But everything in me really just wanted to fall asleep in this bed with Amelia curled up next to me. She let me take her twice, and now I just wanted to spend the rest of the night alternating between sleeping and having sex with her.

Shit really was different when you were with someone you cared about. I wasn’t as lost to reality as Samson was, but now I knew why he insisted on Mackenzie spending every weekend with him at his place. I felt like I had all the time in the world to be with Amelia, but it still wouldn’t be enough. I was going to yearn for this girl whenever she wasn’t around and that was enough to drive a guy fucking nuts.
