The Descendancy of Kiron is a planned 24 novel series that will stretch over millennia in the rise of the land of Kiron and its descendants' eventual journey to our modern world.

The world took shape as a graphic novel I created when I was 17 and focused on the fallen angel Machenrauch. It started as a sort of Paradise Lost fan fiction, and the characters and storylines expanded from there. I’ve published the graphic novel, and it is available as a Kindle book. The graphic novel is a hyper-violent, self-aggrandizing fantasy from the mind of a 17-year-old boy. These novels are more appropriate for a wider audience, and hopefully the characters and story show more depth than its initial roots.

This novel started life as the back story to a modern urban fantasy book I was writing that had its roots in the world of Kiron and I realized that maybe the origins of the world themselves were detailed enough to merit their own series. So, I put that book on hold and decided to write the entire history of the world of Kiron. Hopefully, I will continue to enjoy writing the series enough that it ends up where I began and I can write the modern urban fantasy I set out to create.

I write these as a hobby, and I hope you enjoy them. Since I have a day job and making writing a career is truly a fantasy, I do not have a professional editor reading my novels. Therefore any input or criticism in the novel will be appreciated. I have read the novel a few times to try to weed out inconsistencies and plot holes. I have also run it through various software to remove grammatical errors, but it would be a fantasy as big as the world I am trying to create to think that the story couldn’t use improvements. Any feedback is much appreciated, and anyone giving me major help may get credit in a future edition!

Thank you very much for reading The Angelic Wars I - Heaven, the first novel in The Descendancy of Kiron series. Hope you enjoy the world and characters.

  CHAPTER ONE

  Age of the Colossals

Many, many lifetimes ago, The Colossals ruled the Heavenly Realm. The Twelve, born of the void, they brought forth the light and the darkness. They roamed the planes and created the twelve realms of the universe. For eons they dueled with each other for rulership of the universes and created great giants and monsters to help them battle against each other.

Over the ages, alliances formed and fell but it was the sole effort of Temerian the Great that would unite the realms. Temerian sought to ensure balance and harmony in all of existence and brought his army of giants and dragons to the realms. Temerian forced each of the Colossals to submit to him as their leader. Great battles and protracted wars left many of the realms empty shells, devoid of life, matter and energy scattered, destroyed and exploded. This brought balance and order to the realms and for eons it was so.

Sandos the God of Light, Devros the God of Wisdom, Diyu the God of Love, Aldren God of The Air Elements, Vorgaron God of Fluid Elements, Aggarak God of Order, Madrigon God of The Energies of the Realms, Acheron God of War, Thamuz God of Fluid Elements and Avernus God of Metal Elements were all united in Temerian’s grand council and ensured the balance of all things within the remaining universes. Temerian ruled over them and there was balance and peace.

The peace and order came to an end when Sandos, The God of Light learned that it was he who would bear The New One. Sandos would not create a creature or beast, but from his body an entirely new God would be born. It was then that Sandos’ chest split open and Os, The Creator, was brought forth into the realms.

Os saw that in his efforts to balance the universe, Temerian allowed darkness to flourish and he could not abide by this. Os, told his father that he would end Temerian’s reign and that he and Sandos would rule a new realm where only good and light were allowed to prosper. Sandos knew that his son was more powerful than The Twelve, he attempted to suppress his son’s ambition, but it could not be contained.

When the eleven Colossals saw the greatness of Os, they sought to destroy him. Sandos hid Os in another realm. Aggarak The God of Order came to Sandos. He sought to punish him for hiding his son from the others and created a prison from the ethereal energies and trapped him within it. While Sandos was trapped within this prison, Temerian came and killed him in an attempt to bring his son forth from the realm in which he was hidden.

Now, with his father dead, Os absorbed his godly energies and became more powerful. Devros the Colossal told the others that he would create another as great as Os, who would replace Sandos as the 12th Colossal and help them kill Os. Devros’ head split open and he brought forth Entera, the Omnipotent Sorceress of the heavens whom he sent into the realms to kill Os. Pursued by the Colossals for eons, Os ran and Entera hunted him. One day, Entera happened upon Os. She set upon him and defeated him using the empty handed fighting techniques of Qol Isikali which were taught to her by Acheron. She could have killed Os as the Colossals intended, but she realized that her only purpose to the Colossals was to kill him. Once she had done this, she would be of no use to them and they would turn on her. She instead joined with Os and together they wandered the realms. Os fell in love with Entera and he took her as his wife. Os and Entera begat Shalos, their son, the Indestructible Warrior of the Heavens.

During this time, the remaining Colossals brought forth all of their giants and terrible monsters. Avernus The God of Metal invented swords, shields and armor for the Gods and their armies. Temerian brought forth a son, to command his dragon armies and his name was Satanas which in the ancient tongue means “The Dragon God.” Then they set forth into the realms to hunt Os. However their hunts were futile and they wandered never encountering Os. Instead, their efforts were met by the son of Os, Shalos. He commanded giants created by his father. Shalos and his armies fought massive battles against the armies of the other Colossals. In these battles Shalos defeated and killed ten of the Colossals.

Devros, his maternal grandfather was the first to fall. He built a great palace with massive walls to keep his grandson and his army at bay. However, his own daughter crafted a horn for her son which shook the foundations of walls and caused them to crumble. Devros was the first to be destroyed, then Diyu, Aldren, Vorgaron, Madrigon, Acheron, Thamuz, Aggarak and Avernus.

Then the only one who stood was Temerian. He brought his Dragons to war against Shalos and his army of giants. In the final battle, Shalos’ giants were slain by the the dragons, then Shalos himself set upon them. They realized that Shalos was too powerful for them to survive against him and they disobeyed Temerian and retr
eated to the outer reaches of the realms.

Shalos then dueled Temerian, Shalos’ armor gleamed like the sun. One half of Temerian’s armor shone as brightly, and the other half was so dark that no light was reflected and it appeared completely black. Temerian told Shalos, “Even with my defeat you will never know victory, for something greater than you or I or your father will be displeased by a world of only goodness and light. She will find balance and harmony. There can be no good without evil and there can be no evil without good.”

With that, the realms shook with the thunder of their clash. In the end, only Shalos stood, Temerian’s head removed from his body it then disassembled into its primordial energy and returned to the universe.

After the battle, the entirety of the planes were quiet and empty without the Colossals or their awful monsters and Os traveled through the void with Shalos and Entera. They roamed the twelve planes. All had been shattered by war and now stood empty and desolate. It is not known what filled the planes before the wars but Os now filled his realms with stars, planets and celestial objects. Within the realm formerly controlled by Temerian, he created a sun that brightened the darkness and a world in which he created a beautiful kingdom. The skies, rivers, and oceans were pristine and without flaw. He created a shining palace upon this world, and there he lived with Shalos and Entera. It was a realm of light and good.

Os then created angels to serve him, his wife and his son. The angels were powerful servants of Os traveling throughout the planets of the heavenly realm, constructing great palaces and cities that Os had designed. They also worked distributing and caring for the many heavenly animals He had created to the heavenly worlds. All this, for the glory of Os and his family.

Os sat upon his throne with his son at his right and his wife at his left. He was well pleased with what he had created. He knew now that his powers far surpassed that of the Colossals and that he alone was stronger than all twelve combined had ever been.

He sought to create a new plane in the same vision as the spiritual plane and he opened a portal into the empty expanse of a physical plane. Here he created galaxies, stars, planets and other celestial objects in the image of that which he had created in heaven. He allowed life to flourish upon his planets. His attention turned to one solar system. The worlds contained great rivers and mountains, beauty of an astounding splendor that equalled heaven and in many ways mirrored the climate and features of the worlds of Heaven.

For eons, he cultured this new realm in secret, his work known only to Shalos and Entera. He spent millennia experimenting, creating new creatures, allowing them to fall into extinction. He spent ages evolving the planets, creating life on some, then allowing them to become barren wastelands. Eventually, he favored one particular planet he called Enuma. Here, he cultivated life. Again, he experimented; evolving, growing, cycling, waxing, and waning, ebbing and flowing the planet’s features, fauna and flora. Eventually, he proclaimed what he had crafted upon this planet as good. He and Entera walked through the splendor of this incredible world. When they had returned to Heaven, she told him that it was time to bring forth his most magnificent creation.

It was then that he returned to Enuma and breathed life into creatures that would become something much greater, these he molded and shaped across generations, until they became intelligent, skilled and impressive, even to Os himself. It was from these creatures that he derived human beings. Their final iteration was made in the image of the angels and Os himself. They were so different from his other creations and were much like Os, Shalos or Entera. Social, thinking, creative, problem solving, they were a wonder unlike anything else that had ever been created. Os was pleased.

He created seven tribes and brought them forth into the land of Enuma, a paradise of abundance and prosperity. With Shalos his son and Entera his wife, Os watched over Enuma. He had given the humans the powers of invention and creativity, and he was pleased and surprised by their abilities and talents. Their creations and ingenuity were surpassed only by Os himself. Os looked upon them and returned to heaven. It was then that he revealed his secret creation to the angels. There he celebrated with the angels, his son, and wife. They partook in great feasts of manna and ambrosia and most were in awe of the splendor of this new world and the magnificence of the human beings.

Not all reveled in the glory of the new creation, however. Many of the angels were envious of the attention and love that Os heaped upon his new followers. They hated that Os had given them the gifts of reproduction, creativity, the ability to dream up new creations and shape their own world without his explicit instructions. Many felt that men should be the servants of the angels and that the new physical plane should be theirs. Os’ favorite angel and the one to whom he had bestowed the most power, was the first to determine that he had now equaled his creator. He designed impious plots against Os and recruited the others to follow him. Thus began the Great Rebellion and the Fall of the Rebel Angels.

  CHAPTER TWO

  The Assembly

Behold, God put no trust in his servants and his angels he charged with folly - Job 4:18

Twenty-seven gleaming marble steps paved the way to the plaza that led to the entrance of Elysian Palace. The palace was a radiant, alabaster monument to Os, The Creator, who reigned over all of the heavens from within its magnificent throne room. Standing in The City of God, the capital of Heaven and largest city on the most glorious Heavenly planet of Paradisio, Elysian Palace shone so white that it appeared to glow in heaven’s golden sun. So many arrived for the historic event. They came from Heaven’s other planets, Veritas, Kalos, and Aequiss, from the major cities of these places, Antares, City of the Blessed, Honora, Virgos and The City of Kings. Those who could not attend awaited their herald’s return to hear the good news Os had promised.

Upon the mall that stretched before the palace steps were crowds of angels who had come from the far reaches of Heaven to hear the words of Os, the Almighty Creator. Rare it was that Os himself appeared before them. Few had ever seen him, and most knew of his words only from their heralds and the orders of their superiors. Now, beginning at the foot of the steps of the plaza, the throng pushed forward in anticipation of his appearance. Holding them back from rushing into the palace from sheer enthusiasm was the might of Angels from the Order of Powers. It was they who kept order and balance within the realm. One who stood there that day ensuring that the crowd did not force its way onto the steps was Abbadon, the future leader of Heaven’s enforcers in the coming infernal prisons.

Now, here upon the green grasses of the mall that stretched out into The City of God, surrounded by alabaster Halls of Heavenly dominion were also the archangels Michael, Suriel, Sarathiel, Aniel. At this time unknowns, their skills yet untapped, they awaited the emergence of their great and holy creator with anticipation and excitement. Others who would forge a more impious future were here too. In attendance were the powerful cherub Moloch, Mulciber of the Order of Virtues and Belial of the Order of Dominions. There too was Belphegor, Principality and leader of the city of Habia, here on Paradisio itself.

There atop the steps, arranged in formation according to their ranks were Os’ leaders, the aristocracy of Heaven, the power and the glory and the highest of celestial hierarchy. On the plaza atop the steps, the most senior members of the nine orders of the highest angels in Heaven stood.

The Archangels, couriers, heralds, messengers and future warriors and generals of Os’ armies stood in the back. The archangels, clad in silver armor, were represented by their highest ranking members. In this group were Gabriel who served on the Heavenly Council, a group of leaders who interpreted and passed down Os’ rulings. Also, Raphael the quiet but faithful servant of Os, the protector, his greatest stories were yet to be written. Barely visible they stood closest to the entrance of the palace and thus farthest away from the eyes of
the growing throng before them.

The Principalities, clad in white ceremonial armor with purple trim, the leaders of Heavenly nations, the rulers and governors of all the capital cities of heaven and their governments were next.

The Powers, stood proudly, their brethren working to control the crowd below, both those working and those in the ceremony were clad in their blue armor. A force of order within Heaven, The Powers maintained the balance and enforced the laws of Os. Even prior to the coming battle, impious angels sought to break the rules of The Almighty Os. Paradisio’s small prison, run by the Order of the Powers, was not well known but housed a small group of offenders, quietly and efficiently. During this era, Heaven had no armies and the only enforcement agents needed were The Powers.

The Virtues, angels of grace, heroic and courageous, this would be an announcement that would change their very purpose in heaven. Proudly wearing armor of a deep purple color that almost appeared black to the masses below they stood to await the word of their Creator.

The Dominions, worked with The Powers to regulate angels’ duties. Their green tunics over silver armor distinguished them; they stood regally at attention awaiting the Lord’s announcement.

The Thrones were those who planned and secured the movements of Os throughout his realms. In the future, they would be depicted as fiery wheels who carried the throne. Though now they worked only to secure his passage through the heavens. They would soon have extra duties as angels moved between heaven to Os’ new world. Red armor and helmets with a fiery plumage distinguished their group atop the steps for all below to see.

The Cherubim were dressed in regal, shining silver armor that gave off a blue hue in heaven’s sun. Lesser in numbers, but greater in strength, their high legions stood before the masses gathered to hear their creator speak that day.
