Moth to a Flame

I still wonder that about all three characters—if I did them justice. I really tried hard to connect with them and bring their personalities to life. I wanted Zoey to be vulnerable and closed off but also strong and willing to persevere. Sometimes I found it hard to balance the PTSD she experienced with her strength. I’ve also never written about an amputee, so I did a lot of research online about prosthetics. I sincerely hope I wrote about that part of her with truth. If I made any errors, I meant no offense or disrespect.
For Nick, I wanted to portray that he was more than the sexiest man alive and that he wanted more out of life than just the perks of being a celebrity. I wanted to show how his life was also impacted by The Moth and how Zoey and Nick were connected by the past. I liked his confidence and how he accepted the strong feelings he had for Zoey almost right away. I think someone like her needed someone like him, because if it was anyone with less strength, they might have given up on her.
Though this was a challenging book to write, I’m proud of how it came out. Even when it was tough, I kept going (like Zoey!) and tried to bring out the best story I could. So while this book was two years in the making, I hope you all will find the wait was worth it and get wrapped up in the story of Zoey and Nick.
Thank you all for reading and for all the support you’ve shown me. It keeps me going even in seasons when writing is discouraging and I’d rather be a barista (lol).
Until next book!
XOXO,
Cambria
