Earth's Angels: The Earth's Angels Trilogy

‘Harrik must have calmed her with his power when he touched her foot,’ I thought to myself.
“I would like to see it too, please,” Joanne added.
Zanika and Harrik dipped their heads to both women, and as Harrik glided away, Zanika began to use her power to slide back the dividing veils between the other two sleeping women and us.
“Are those all the baby animals?” April asked, pointing to the glistening glass wall now that Zanika and Harrik were no longer blocking their view.
“Yes,” I replied, “the baby animals are placed into containment capsules. So once our planet is healed enough, they can be released when they’re ready,” I explained.
Just as I was explaining, Harrik returned with two more capsules, both hovering above his outstretched palms. ‘Show off,’ I thought, smiling to myself.
Zanika began to prepare the first woman, adjusting her sheet and gown as Harrik positioned the shimmering capsules at the ends of the beds. While Joanne started to share the tray of food and juice with April, Harrik joined Zanika on the other side of the bed.
“Zanika, do you know what the women are carrying?” Joanne asked politely.
Zanika looked up and smiled at Joanne, and then she took the sleeping woman’s hand and lifted it to show them the silvery mark.
“She is carrying a lynx kitten,” she replied.
“That is amazing,” April said between mouthfuls of fruit.
While April and Joanne watched transfixed as the angels birthed the new animal babies, I took the opportunity to speak with Trudy and Mimi. Touching the com at the top of my cleavage, I mentally reached out.
‘Mimi, Trudy, are you both at the cruiser?’ I asked. Within seconds they both responded.
‘Yes,’ Trudy answered.
‘I’m still here too, are you okay?’ Mimi asked.
‘I’m fine. We have two women awake, one called April who’s missing her girlfriend Ashley, who was stabbed just before the angels arrived,’ I told her, ‘The other woman, Joanne, is English and has a husband and two children who were very young. Can you see if you can find them all and bring them here, please? It’s definitely going to make things easier,’ I added.
‘Will do; we’ll tell you when we’re ready with them,’ Trudy replied.
‘See you soon Mel. Oh, and we heard about the fish and birds at the pool; it must have been so weird, but amazing at the same time,’ added Mimi, and then they were gone.
By the time we’d finished our mental conversation, Zanika and Harrik were already working on the fourth woman, and the lynx kitten was in its shimmering capsule. April and Joanne were still mesmerized, watching the angels every move.
“So, what do you think?” I asked both of the women.
“It is incredible,” Joanne said quietly.
“It’s magical isn’t it!” April added. “I didn’t think I could get pregnant because I’ve always had major problems with my ovaries,” she confessed.
“Well, your ovaries are perfect now. When the angels came, you were all healed, so you’ve never been in more perfect health. One of the women here called Tracey had cancer before all of this, and she’s healed now too,” I explained.
“That’s incredible,” April exclaimed, now smiling and appearing genuinely happier.
Before long, the other two women were both awake, and after introductions between us ladies and introducing the angels, the woman were talking and eating between themselves.
I took a moment to reach out again to Mimi and Trudy, who apparently were just about to leave with Joanne’s husband and two children. Trudy sounded quite choked when she delivered the bad news that April’s girlfriend was already dead when the angels arrived.
My heart ached in my chest at the thought of having to tell her. I was grateful that she was getting on so well with the women before me. She was going to need her new friends to help her through her grief.
I told Mimi and Trudy about the other two women, explaining who they were missing and asked them to meet us in the smaller meeting room with Hulaz. We were going to need the angel to show them what the angels had shown me.
“Ladies, I’m going to take you now to a meeting room, so that we can explain everything to you. Is that okay?” I asked.
After all agreeing, Zanika, Harrik and myself led the women to the meeting room. As the angels walked in front of the women, I walked behind them and watched them taking everything in. All four were looking this way and that, admiring and studying the corridors, archways and the hieroglyphs.
When we arrived at the meeting room, the women’s family members were there waiting for them, minus April’s girlfriend. Joanne’s husband and children rushed to her with open arms, sandwiching her between them all, with tears of relief and joy streaming down their faces.
Hulaz and I made a beeline for April, and as I looked into her eyes, I knew she was preparing herself for the worst. Hulaz reached for her, placing her hand on April’s in preparation of the heartbreak she was about to endure. The other women were so wrapped up in their sheer happiness that they were oblivious.
“April I’m so sorry, but Ashley didn’t make it,” I told her as gently as I could. “She had already passed away before the angels arrived,” I explained.
April’s eyes were wide with disbelief and shock as her body began to tremble. Hulaz started to let her power flow between her hand and April’s. April glanced at Hulaz and then back to me as if waiting for us to say that we were mistaken. We waited for her to absorb the reality.
“She lost a lot of blood, and I couldn’t stop it,” she said, with a sob.
“It wasn’t your fault April; things were so bad before the angels came, and many lives were lost through similar circumstances,” I told her softly. “We will help and support you through this, okay.”
“Thank you,” she answered as a huge sob escaped her.
She moved towards me and laid her head on my shoulder. I couldn’t fathom one so young, losing the one they loved. My heart broke for her as I wrapped my arms around her, giving her the comfort, she so desperately needed.
Chapter 19
By the time I arrived back at our rooms, I was utterly drained, and my emotions were all over the place. My heart was still so heavy with April’s grief, but the joy felt by Joanne and the other ladies helped to balance the emotions out.
Waking the women in groups was definitely working a lot better than before and was more productive in helping the women to acclimatize to their new situation and surroundings.
Zanika or Harrik had arranged food and drink, including coffee, so I grabbed a cup and made my way to the large, round window.
Looking out to the ocean, I watched the rig crafts in action. I was reminded again how amazing the angels were in all aspects of healing our planet. Our freshwater and seawater were nearly cleaned completely; our land was getting there now too. Also due to all the women, there were now thousands upon thousands of infant animals ready to put in the wild. I sighed at the accomplishments we’d already made and the wonder of it all.
Hearing voices behind me, I turned to see Harrison and Anthony walking in, and they seemed to be full of enthusiasm.
“I still can’t believe the plans that Scott’s drawn up so quickly,” Anthony said in awe.
“Well, now we know why he was such a successful builder don’t we,” Harrison replied, his eyes brows rising. “Hi, Mom.”
“Hi boys, are you hungry?” I asked, pointing at the food-laden tray on the table.
Both boys raised their eyebrows as they tilted their heads as if to say, ‘Really, Mom, that’s a silly question; we’re always hungry.’ I laughed aloud at their comical faces. They joined me at the seating area, and we began to snack on the food and talk while we waited for James and the girls to arrive back.
Harrison and Anthony had had a great day with Scott and a few of the other men and women. They’d been making action plans for the fake holding structures and had been making the architectural plans
too. They’d really enjoyed learning from the others and being a part of it.
“Turns out Scott has a daughter who’s about the same age as Anthony,” Harrison said, with a smirk on his face. “Doesn’t he Anthony,” he added while wriggling his eyebrows at his brother.
Poor Anthony was so embarrassed at his younger brother’s statement.
“Don’t tease your brother, Harrison,” I chided. “There are so few of us left that if you all find love and happiness with someone, it will be a true blessing,” I added, giving my eldest a wink. “What’s she like Anthony?” I asked curiously.
I was relieved and pleased to be able to talk about something so positive after the morning I’d had. Anthony took a deep breath trying to relax.
“She’s awesome, Mom, and she’s called Christine. She smart, funny, and she knows how to build houses like her dad,” he answered. “She’s been on building sites with her dad since she was young.”
“Wow, she sounds very impressive,” I replied, genuinely pleased for him.
“Yeah, she is, and I’m going to meet her later at the lagoon pool,” he added, obviously very keen.
I was thrilled that the kids seemed to be making connections with others, especially possible partners. Life felt even more precious now, and I desperately wanted our kids to find happiness.
About half an hour later, the girls came back and, of course, Nalik was still with Holly. I felt that I needed to have a quiet chat with Holly about Nalik to make sure he wasn’t being too full on and overcrowding her. She came across happy enough, but I wanted to check.
The girls had had a great day just like the boys, and with just as much enthusiasm, they told us all about it. Abigail explained that she loved working with Ann and the other artists. They already had ideas for camouflaging the holding structures and the angels.
Holly couldn’t wait to talk about all the things she was organizing too. As she was describing her day, Nalik sat silently looking at her with pride and adoration on his face. ‘My goodness, he’s smitten with her,’ I thought to myself.
As I listened to the kids sharing the details of their day, I began to wonder where James was, and then I remembered the com around my neck. Not wanting to disturb the kids from talking between themselves, I discreetly touched it and reached out to him.
‘James, how are you doing?’ I mentally asked.
I didn’t get a reply,
‘James are you okay!’ I asked a little more anxiously.
‘I can’t talk right now, babe; we’ve got a situation right now,’ he answered breathlessly.
Worry flowed through me instantly. It sounded like something very bad was happening just from the tone of his voice. My heart was instantly racing ten to the dozen, making it feel like it was pounding in my throat.
‘James, where are you?’ I desperately asked in my mind.
‘Outside the cruiser,’ he replied in a rush of words.
My mind was made up.
“Nalik, could you please take me to the holding structure?” I asked, trying to sound much calmer than I felt.
Nalik looked at me surprised and then concerned. However, fair play to him, he didn’t let on to my kids what he was obviously sensing from me.
“Of course, Mel,” he said, getting straight up from his seat.
Before the kids had a chance to ask what was going on, Nalik touched my arm, and we vanished from the room. When we reappeared, I suddenly felt icy cold, and we were in the small meeting room and not at the holding structure.
“What the hell Nalik? I said the holding structure; James is outside it!” I shouted, feeling so pissed and panic-stricken.
Nalik held up both of his hands, as if in surrender.
“Mel, before I place you in any danger, I need to know what’s happening,” he told me gently.
I started to tremble with anxiety and anger.
“I don’t know what’s happening Nalik, but I think James is in danger, and if you don’t take me there right now, you will be the first dead angel of your fucking race!” I shouted.
I couldn’t help myself from letting my panic spill out; I just knew that James needed me. Nalik didn’t argue; instead, he touched my hand, and we disappeared again.
When we arrived outside the cruiser, all hell was breaking loose, and I wasn’t quite believing what I was seeing before us. Nalik instantly moved in front of me protectively and was suddenly glowing brightly. I peered around the side of him with my heart racing even faster.
There were eight angels and James in a near circle, and they were surrounding a Marilian, ‘How the hell is this possible?’
The Marilian was so fast, zapping from one place to another within the circle, dodging the angels’ light beams of power. It looked to me as if he was repeatedly trying to get to James, ‘Maybe he wanted to try and change him.’
The angels were desperately trying to trap him, but he was so fast, with his razor-sharp talons slicing through the air every time he got close to James.
Panic rose sharply in my chest, and I touched my com. ‘Nalik, tell the angels they need to cross their power beams like this,’ I told him, showing him the Star of David in my mind. ‘Then tell them to bring their power in towards the center. One of the beams will trap him,’ I added.
I felt Nalik in my mind, ‘Yes Mel.’
Within mere seconds, the angels had changed their tactic, instantaneously redirecting their power beams into the shape I’d shown Nalik. Abruptly the Marilians movements changed too, his zapping from one place to the next becoming more hesitant, his eyes darting in all directions, trying to find a weak spot. When I looked at James, his eyes were wide with fear, not for himself, but for me.
Something blinded me suddenly as if a camera flash had gone off right in front of my face. Nalik moved his arm around my back, placing his hand on my wrist.
‘Don’t worry Mel, one of the power beams hit the Marilian; just keep blinking your eyes, it will pass,’ he told me calmly.
As I rapidly started to blink my eyes, hating the fact that I was momentarily blinded, I felt large, strong arms wrapping around my waist. Instantly, I knew it was James.
“Are you alright, baby?” he asked, desperately needing reassurance.
I turned around in his arms while still blinking away the flash of light. James began to come into focus before me, his furrowed brows and thinned lips showing his worry.
“I’m fine James, honestly. I thought that bastard was trying to get you,” I told him, my shaky voice taking me by surprise.
“He was trying to get me Mel, but he’s contained now, look,” he said, pointing behind me.
When I turned around, all the angels had the Marilian within their beams in the center of their circle. He was frozen on the spot, unable to move his thickly haired muscular body.
His face was full of rage. Razor sharp teeth were clearly visible as he snarled his fury, and his blood red eyes flickered as if they were wild flames. A shudder ran through my whole body as I felt the evil flowing from him.
Without warning, Christik abruptly appeared right next to us, her silvery white power emanating from every inch of her body. She was obviously very angry.
“Enough!” Her voice boomed over the sounds of rage coming from the Marilian.
All the angels turned to look at her in all her fierce glory as she lifted her arms with both palms facing the monster. I watched in awe as the Marilian began to lift off the ground. Under his feet, silvery vines started to burst through the earth, winding around his ankles, slowly moving upwards and around his thick body.
The other angels reined in their own power, three of them disappearing. I realized that the vines were metal as they wound around his body. Before long, the Marilian was encased in silvery vines, from his feet to his muscular shoulders.
The Marilians snarls and rage made my skin crawl as did his fiery eyes. James’ arms around me made me feel safe, but the hatred and murderous feelings that I felt from the monster were so strong, it was
as if they were my own.
Christik glided towards the Marilian while lowering her palms to face the earth. Her palms began to glow brighter and, like before, I felt the earth tremble beneath my feet. A strong breeze was beginning to form around us, my hair starting to whip around in the increasingly strong air currents.
The people inside the holding structure must have heard the commotion or felt the vibration in the ground as they began to come out of the main doors or out to their balconies.
All of us watched in awed silence as particles of metal came up from the ground, swirling in a circular motion beneath Christik’s hands. Even though I’d recently witnessed her doing this, I was still seriously impressed.
Before long, Christik had a lot of silver metal collected in mini tornadoes under her palms. The wind and the earth tremors gradually died down. She raised her arms before her as if offering the silver, and all eyes were on her as her outstretched hands grew even brighter.
The silver began to melt together until there were two large discs of silvery metal spinning above each of her hands. With amazing speed, she threw one of the discs, and it spun like a Frisbee through the air, sliding underneath the floating Marilian. She threw the other, and we watched it fly just as fast, stopping and hovering above the monster’s head.
Christik glided right up to the Marilian, raising her arms either side of his imprisoned form.
“You will not harm anyone on this planet,” she declared to him in a voice full of fierce authority.
A flash of light released from her hands and instantly a barrier appeared between the two spinning silver discs, encasing the terrifying Marilian.
There were many sighs of relief among us humans and the angels, once the monster was trapped completely. As I looked around at my people, many were hugging each other, shocked that they were witnessing one of our enemies literally so close to home.
I understood how they felt. Seeing the Marilian before us confirmed that the threat was real, and that they were definitely here already or on their way.
