Alien Attraction (The Shadow Zone Brotherhood Book 5)

His lips find my jaw, my cheek.
I’m so glad I understand their language and the beautiful things he murmurs.
High as I was before, drowning in this delight, I reach that peak in a luxurious haze and he follows right after.
Fingers dragging over his back, I draw lazy circles on his skin letting the warmth of him seep into me and keep me warm against him.
It takes a few minutes for him to stir, but I like the weight of him on me and I’ll never complain about being this close to him.
But all good things. He distracts me as he slides from me, by dipping his fingers into the neckline of my sweater and pinching the fabric. “I like this sweater.”
“It is the perfect length.”
“I’ll have to buy you more.” He kisses me, his lip sweet with promises.
“Oh shit.”
I freeze at the sound of the other man’s voice and a moment later, Fault is gone. I grab the blanket from the couch to cover my legs and when I look to the door, Fault has Drift by the neck, slammed up against the wall.
“I didn’t know. I thought—”
“I don’t care what you thought.” Fault drops him and the man—wide eyed and honestly, looking close to terrified—gets to the door so quickly….
I watch Fault as he stands in the entry way, completely naked, still semi-hard, and so angry the overflow of the feeling has honestly triggered my anxiety. His skin holds a faint glow and it’s so sexy.
I hold my hand out to him. “We need to change the door locks. But that can wait.”
“You’re mine. No one else gets to see you.”
“So you’re not going to let me go work at Margot’s?
Remember… I can feel when you’re joking. “But… if you wanted to do that, we would talk about it.”
He hates the idea.
I do too. “I don’t think I could handle having you and then servicing someone else.”
“Even though you’re always horny?” He asks as he sits on the couch.
“That’s only for you.” I throw my leg over him, straddling him and sliding down onto his cock once more. “When I walked into Margot’s I saw three dozen men, but I didn’t want any of them. I only wanted you. And now that I’ve had you… I don’t think anyone else will be able to tempt me.
“When I thought I’d lost you… I love you, Fault. But I think you already knew that.”
“I did. But it’s nice to hear out loud.”
I hum, rocking on him. “It’s nice to feel too.”
“You are everything I thought I’d never have, Wren. I love you. I’ve loved you from the moment I saw that glint in your eye that told me you weren’t afraid of anything.”
He slaps my ass. “We need to go clean up.”
And we will… but I have a question that needs answered first.
FAULT
Wren disappears for a minute while I start the shower. I have no idea how she’s got the energy to do anything.
She comes back when I think it’s the right temperature and lets me help her under the water.
She shivers, but not because the water is cold, my touch is too light. And she steps into me.
She drops her forehead to my chest and chuckles against my skin, kissing the illusion of those scales the Maker’s final curse has left me with.
“Let’s go back to Margot’s.”
I look at her askance. “I was stared at before this. Do you really want to be seen with a freak now that I look like this?”
“The opposite, actually. I want everyone to see me. I want them to know that I’ve snatched you up. That you’re mine. And that I’m the luckiest woman in the universe.”
“Do you need anyone to know that?”
“I need them to know they were wrong when they thought you weren’t worth being with, when they thought you were a freak and only one woman would spend time with you. I need them to know you’re perfect.
“And that you’re loved.”
I already know that. “Do they need to know?”
“I’m not suggesting we partake of the public room.” She leans against me, knowing that we’re not getting any further than the bed tonight. “But I wouldn’t mind leaving the intercom on. Maybe I want them to know just how much I love the way you screw me.”
“I’ll think about it.”
“You do that.” Her fingers lace in mine and she pulls my hand down her side.
“Something you said yesterday made me go check.”
“Check for what?”
A sly smile touches her lips and she moves my hand over her stomach. “I’m pregnant.”
My lungs seize in my chest. “Are you sure?” She nods, jerkily, and I realize she’s getting mixed feelings across the bond.
“You’re going to be a dad. And I know you’re going to be the best father this baby could ever have.”
“I never thought I’d have you. I never thought I’d have any of this.”
I never realized how much I wanted it.
“So, that one hundred score wasn’t lying.” I smooth her hair back from her face. It takes me a second to clear my thoughts. “When?”
“Nope. And your come is… aggressive.” She drags my face down to kiss her. “According to the med unit, you knocked me up even with the stopper in place… on that first night.”
“How is that possible?”
“Like I thought from the moment I saw you…. There’s more to you than anyone expects.”
