Seaside Whispers: Matt Lacroux (Love in Bloom: Seaside Summers)

He gathered her close and gently lowered her to her back. He lifted her head and slid a pillow beneath it. Then he took one of the extra blankets and tucked it beside her for warmth. She reached for it, and he placed his hand over hers.
“I’ll warm you up, baby. Trust me.”
Her hand fell beside her. He reached for the other pillow. “Raise your hips for me.” She did, and he centered the pillow beneath them. “Perfect.”
Chapter Fifteen
MIRA WAS SHAKING all over, from the breeze, from nerves, from the fact that she was lying naked on a beach while Matt visually devoured her, like he was deciding where to start. She’d never been spoken to so dirty before, and she freaking loved it.
Matt stretched out beside her, his erection resting temptingly against her hip as he ran a single finger slowly from her neck to her belly button, over her pubic hair, to the cleft of her sex. Her body shuddered beneath the intimate touch, and when he followed that path back up, she thought she might combust. Her nipples tightened, her sex clenched, and her mouth went bone dry. He followed the same trail south again, only this time he covered her sex with his hand. His long fingers rested over her wetness as he took her in a rough, intrusive kiss that went on and on, every second stealing more of her ability to think. When his thumb began circling her clit in slow, precise movements, she couldn’t contain the greedy pleas that escaped her lungs. His long fingers slid up and down the center of her sex, teasing and taunting as he devoured her mouth, shattering any and all thoughts.
His mouth moved to her jaw, then the base of her neck. She loved when he kissed her there. Sparks ignited under her skin, in the air around them, beneath his mouth as he grazed his teeth over her nipple, sending exquisite pain straight to her core. Her sex clenched against his fingers, and he groaned.
“My girl likes it a little rough.” His voice was sinfully deep.
While she was reveling in my girl, he dipped a single thick finger inside her.
“Oh God, yes.” She arched off the pillow, and he continued teasing her, pushing his finger in and out with lethal accuracy while his thumb applied the perfect amount of pressure to all those sensitive nerves at the tip of her sex.
He sucked her nipple so hard she cried out, and he stopped.
“Too much?” Regret laced his words.
“No, I just…I never…No. It’s good.” Holy crap, it was so good.
He lowered his mouth to her breast again, and she felt him close his smile around it. He sucked and teased and bit—Oh God, yes! He sucked again, laving the tender spots with his tongue, then bit down at the same time he thrust his fingers into her.
“Oh God. Yes. So good.” She had no hopes of quelling the stream of praise coming from her lips. “Incredible. There. There. Oh God. Bite. Yes. Ohgodohgod.”
Her eyes slammed shut as he withdrew his fingers and stroked between her wet lips. Her sex throbbed. She arched and rocked her hips, but he wouldn’t delve inside her body.
“Tell me what you need, baby.” His eyes burned through her, begging for her words.
She couldn’t do it. She couldn’t say what she wanted. His mouth crashed down over hers in a kiss so demanding it took her right up to the edge of release. She could barely breathe. Her toes curled under, and her fingers dug into the blankets. She was so close she could feel it, see it in the periphery of her being. He slowed the kiss, meeting her tongue with long, slow strokes. She panted into his mouth, the orgasm ebbing, and it was then she realized he knew exactly what he was doing.
“Please, Matt. I need you inside me,” she begged.
He thrust his fingers between her legs. Her senses reeled, her thoughts shattered, and she cried out his name. He took her in another possessive kiss as her body quaked and quivered. Her hips bucked off the pillow, and he eased the kiss while moving his fingers quicker, taking her back up to the peak again. When she finally came down from the peak, her limbs were weak, her breathing shallow. He moved his mouth to her breast again, and in seconds she was on the verge of another explosive orgasm—and then he was gone. Moving lower, between her legs, replacing his fingers with his mouth, and—oh God—she lost it again, coming so hard her whole body felt like one taut muscle.
He moved up her body in one swift effort, his balls brushing against her sex. Her nerves were so raw she knew she’d come again if he applied any amount of friction.
Matt kissed her tenderly. The taste and scent of her arousal was everywhere.
“Taste that, baby?” He smiled down at her. “So good. From now on, when you kiss me, I want you to think about my mouth between your legs. I want you to remember how good it felt to come on my tongue.”
Hearing him use that language turned her on even more. How would she ever kiss him again and not think of those very things?
He reared up on his knees, dragged his fingers along her sex, making her entire body thrum, and wrapped his glistening fingers around his cock. He stroked himself with one hand and moved beside her, stretching his long, hard body out on his side, and placed her hand between her legs.
“Make yourself come for me,” he coaxed.
She froze. She’d never done that with anyone watching before.
“Come on, baby,” he urged, still fisting his cock. “We’re going to do a lot more than this. There’s no room for embarrassment.”
Oh, how she liked that promise, but she still wasn’t sure she could touch herself in front of him. “But I want to make love to you,” she said shyly.
“Don’t worry. We’re nowhere near done.” He took her hand in his and together they brought her to the edge of another orgasm.
He released her hand. “Keep going. I want you to feel free with me.”
She closed her eyes and continued touching herself.
“Eyes open, baby.”
She groaned, too deep into the next orgasm to resist, and her eyes dropped to his big hand around his shaft, sliding up to the head, over the top, and back down again in a quick, repetitive rhythm. A bead formed at the tip, mesmerizing her as it glistened in the light of the moon.
“Faster, baby,” he said urgently.
She hadn’t realized she’d slowed her efforts. She closed her eyes again.
“Eyes on me,” he said in a heated tone.
“It makes me want you more.” The confession burst from her lips.
“Good.” He lowered his mouth to hers, taking her in a fierce, demanding kiss.
Then his hand was on hers, moving with her, pushing her fingers inside her body alongside his. It was so taboo, so erotic, that she didn’t want to stop—not when she came so hard she could barely breathe. Not when he continued the pressure, the probing. She clutched his hair with her free hand, holding his mouth to hers as together they gave a repeat performance. She’d never come so many times, so hard, in her life. It was addicting, and as she came down from another orgasm, he turned on the blanket, bringing his mouth to her sex.
“Oh, Matt,” she cried as he sucked her clit to the point of titillating pain and pleasure. She rocked against his mouth, and when she opened her eyes, his cock was right there beside her, that alluring, glistening bead weeping for her. She wrapped her fingers around him and he groaned against her sex. It vibrated through her core, and when she finally got her mouth on him, she moaned loudly, hoping to create the same enticing vibration for him. She took him to the back of her throat, humming aggressively around his cock.
“Holy hell, baby,” he said, sliding his fingers in and out of her sex, giving her unrelenting pleasure. “You’re going to make me come if you keep doing that.”
She hummed louder, rocking her hips to the same beat as she sucked him off. She clawed at his side as her orgasm consumed her, moaning continuously, trying to bring him the same explosive pleasure. He tried to pull out of her mouth, but she had a tight hold, and she wanted all of him. The first hot jet slid down her throat, the next clogged it, but she didn’t back off. She forced herself to take everything he had, just as he was doing
for her. And the gratification of knowing she gave him as much pleasure as he gave her was so immense, it brought tears to her eyes.
Matt moved beside her and gathered her in his arms, kissing her so thoroughly, the taste of him mixed with the taste of her and literally became one.
When their mouths parted, his hand slid down her belly to her oversensitive sex again. She didn’t know if she could keep up. He was like a sex machine, and her body felt limp and sated. His fingers teased over her flesh, and her senses reeled.
Oh yeah, she could do this.
“Now, my sweet girl,” he whispered into her ear, sending a shiver down her spine. “Turn over and let me love you into tomorrow.”
He reached for his pants and retrieved a condom, quickly rolling it on.
Turn over? She worried as she turned onto her stomach.
“God you’re gorgeous. Don’t worry, baby. I’m not going to do anything you don’t want to.”
Don’t want to? She had no idea if there was anything she didn’t want to do with him.
His strong hands moved over her skin, rubbing her arms, her shoulders, her upper back and then following the line of her spine south. She closed her eyes as he moved between her legs, his hands running up and down her hips, his mouth leaving a trail of hot kisses at the base of her spine. The pillow remained beneath her hips, angling her ass up, and when he spread her cheeks and ran his tongue along the crease, she fisted her hands in the blanket. Never had she felt anything so exquisite. His tongue slid lower, to her sex. She pressed her hips back, wanting that talented tongue deep inside her. He pushed a hand beneath her and found the other elicit spot as he loved her with his mouth, sending her body into the throes of another orgasm.
As she came down from the peak, he aligned the head of his cock with her entrance and gathered her hair over one shoulder, placing tender kisses along her skin. “I told you I wouldn’t do anything you didn’t want.”
“I know you wouldn’t.” He felt incredible, all those hard muscles pressing down on her back, his hips planted firm against her ass.
“When you want to do more, we will.”
She knew they would, and now she understood what Serena meant when she said with the right guy she’d go there.
Matt laced his fingers with hers and said, “I want to make love to you face-to-face, but this will feel good for you. Let’s just play for a minute.”
That made her wonder what she’d been missing out on for all these years. She’d never been very creative when it came to sex. Missionary position was all she’d done. He entered her, moving over that magical spot with renewed pressure. The angle was perfect, the friction intense. Holy mother of all things orgasmic. It felt out of this world. Who would have thought a pillow and lying on her stomach could make this much of a difference? He sealed his mouth over the back of her neck and pushed his hands beneath her, squeezing her nipples. A rush of sensations engulfed her, and when he began moving at a slow, sensual pace, it was all she could do to remember to breathe.
“That’s it, baby. Feel it? That’s us.” One of his hands moved south, taking up residence between her legs, while the other continued teasing her nipple.
“Are you”—she tried to get her brain to focus—“really a professor of sex?”
He laughed and kissed her cheek. “Only with you, baby. Christ, sunshine, I need to see you.”
She turned over, and as their bodies came back together, he kissed her again, deeply, thoroughly. The kind of kiss she wanted to keep her warm on cold winter nights.
“I’ve never felt anything like this,” he confessed. “I can’t get enough of you. I need to see your face when we make love. I need this connection.”
As their bodies came together, the passion swimming in his eyes and the feel of him loving her coalesced, and she knew in that moment it didn’t matter if they’d been together a week, a month, a year, or ten. She was falling in love with Matt Lacroux, and she had been for a very long time.
Chapter Sixteen
AFTER MAKING LOVE on the beach last night, Mira had fallen asleep nestled safely in Matt’s arms on his king-sized bed. Matt lay awake for a long time, thinking about how quickly he’d become accustomed to a life outside of the classroom. A life where his top priorities were governed by what he wanted and not red tape and boxes that needed to be checked off. It was midafternoon, the sun was shining, and Matt felt happier than he had been in years. He looked down at his shorts and flip-flops.
I might never wear socks again.
It was a silly thought, but a thought he never would have had before taking this sabbatical. He glanced at Mira, leafing through a book a few feet from him in an eclectic bookstore in town. She looked beautiful in a sexy green tank top that set off her hazel eyes and a pair of white shorts. How was it possible that she looked more radiant every day?
She glanced up, and a shy smile curved her lips. When he’d woken up with Mira in his arms, it had taken all of his willpower to let her sleep in rather than waking her up to satisfy his own ravenous desires. Luckily, she’d woken up shortly after with the same insatiable appetite for him. Making love with her was heavenly, made even better by her willingness to trust him and explore her naughty side, which he loved as much as her sweet and her maternal sides. They made love before breakfast and again before showering and throwing on bathing suits beneath their clothes, and taking off on bikes to explore the island. They checked out an art gallery, a handmade clothing store, and a jewelry store, where Mira practically drooled over a canary diamond ring. They had lunch by the water, and for the last hour they’d been perusing this cozy bookstore, which smelled like apples and cinnamon. He’d known how well he and Mira would get along, but he hadn’t realized how effortlessly their lives would come together.
“What’s that look?” she asked quietly.
He closed the distance between them, aware of her quickening breaths and the darkening of her gorgeous eyes. Sliding a hand around her waist, he whispered directly in her ear—because he loved the way she held her breath every time he did.
“Thinking about how hard I’m falling for you.”
She nibbled on the corner of her mouth and gazed up at him with a sultry, slightly shy gaze that made his insides soften and his outside harden.
“Matt,” she said dreamily, and went up on her toes to kiss him. “This is all wonderful, but it scares me a little.”
“I know it does. I told you I’m considering my options. With the dean position out of the picture, and the research and writing fulfilling that academic craving I know I’ll always have, I don’t miss teaching.”
Worry lines crept across her forehead. “I’m not asking you to stop teaching.”
He pressed a kiss to those lines, hoping to ease them. “I know you aren’t. You never would. I’ve been growing tired of teaching for quite some time. It’s the research and writing that holds my interest, and even that is hampered by administration. Sunshine, so much has changed for me these last few years. Watching my siblings fall in love and manage to be happy both professionally and personally has opened my eyes to the things I always wanted but put off to ‘one day.’ I’m in my thirties. One day has come, and I’m still churning the academic wheel. When my father began talking about retiring, I realized that I haven’t been around in a meaningful way since I was eighteen. I don’t want to miss out on being part of his life anymore. Or part of my brothers’ or Sky’s life. Or Bea’s. And then I met you and Hagen…”
He slid a hand to the nape of her neck, gazing into her hopeful and worried eyes. “And I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you ever since. I know you’re scared to let yourself fall for me, or to let Hagen become reliant on me, because my future is up in the air, but I’m going to prove to you that I’m worth the risk. You can’t deny what’s between us, sunshine. It’s too strong.”
“But how will we…?”
“Figure it out? We have to trust that we’ll both know what the right thing to do is when we get to tha
t point.” When she smiled, he pressed his lips to hers. “Let’s pay for these books and go parasailing.”
Her eyes nearly bugged out of her head. “Parasailing?”
He carried the books to the register and paid while they discussed the idea.
“I might be afraid of heights,” Mira said nervously.
“Might be?”
“I’ve never tested the theory, but there’s a possibility.”
He hugged her to him as they left the bookstore. “You’ll have me by your side. Come on, sunshine. I’ve only got a few weeks to convince you that you can trust me. What better way than from high above shark-filled waters?”
“I CAN’T DO this.” Mira clung to the grips of the parasail for dear life. “The scariest thing I’ve ever done was give birth, and that was in the safety of a hospital bed!”
Matt patted her thigh. “NASA came up with this idea as part of their survival training for pilots who had to eject from their aircraft over the water. It’s safe.”
The instructor, a burly guy who looked like he ate sharks for breakfast and had spent the trip out telling them about his GoPro videos, explained that they’d take off and land on the special parasailing boat. He said they could take a dip in the water if they’d like. Swimming near shore was one thing, but now that Matt had planted the idea of sharks in her mind, there was no way she was dipping even a single toe in it.
She gazed into the dark sea surrounding the boat. “Unless you fall and get eaten in these shark-filled waters.”
“I was kidding. There are probably only a couple in there.”
“Matt!” She swatted him, and he leaned over and planted a loud kiss on her lips.
