Chapter 1
Stephanie needed this break. She was so burnt out on her career as a teacher and she only been in the classroom 2 years. A long weekend getaway by herself in Savannah, Georgia was the cure.
She loved teaching children. She loved the age group she had. 3rd graders were still eager to please their teachers but independent enough to not need her every time she turned around. Stephanie was frustrated with all the meetings, paperwork, testing, and changes that were taking place with the curriculum (most she didn’t agree with). Being a new teacher, she didn’t feel it was her place to voice her opinion just yet on how much she disagreed with the decisions being made. So Stephanie kept her mouth shut and trudged along. And now the school year was over. Finally!
Stephanie thought over her 2nd year of teaching as she basked in the sun on Tybee Beach. She didn’t want to dwell on it so she put her ear buds in and tuned in to her favorite music station on her iphone. She loved R&B music. It was sexy and made her feel things she rarely, if ever, experienced in real life.
Looking up and down the beach, she was the only person that was a “single”. Every group was either a family enjoying vacation, a couple having a day in the sun, or a group of friends hanging out.
“Well all my friends are married and don’t need a 3rd wheel,” she mumbled under her breath. Not that she was upset about being alone. Stephanie made a choice to come here alone. She needed the serenity of being at peace with her thoughts and dreams. After her break up with her longtime boyfriend, she needed this time by herself.
Where to start with Jeffery? He was arrogant, spoiled, and just plain mean. Not in a physical way. He never hurt her with his hand. It was always with his mouth. Jeffery was always cutting her with his words and it felt just like a knife. Most people looking at him thought he was a great catch. Stephanie knew otherwise.
She and Jeffery began dating just before her graduation from college and their relationship had been off and on for two years. Jeff was always compensating for what he was lacking in: a dick. Jeffery was small and not in height. Not that Stephanie slept around to know the average size of men but she knew from her newly married friends that he was not well endowed in the least bit. And their relationship wasn’t based on bad sex. It was his bad attitude as well. Stephanie finally had enough of the criticisms, rude remarks about everything, and him in general that she broke things off for good and headed down south for some hot sun.
Tired of lying on the beach, Stephanie decided to cool off in the blue Atlantic Ocean. She took her ear buds out and tucked her iPhone in her bag. Walking to the crashing waves, she caught a glimpse of a group of men throwing a football. One man stood out from the rest. He had dark brown hair, trimmed stubble on his chiseled chin and squared jaw, and icy blue eyes that caught hers as she was walking to the water. He radiated Alfa male and had a body to die for. Stephanie quickly looked away from his sexy stare. She was not here for a man. She was here for herself. Or so she thought.
Swimming out in the ocean was such a relief. Stephanie felt that she was washing all her worries, cares, and stressors away as the waves crashed over her body. She swan until she was out far enough that the waves weren’t breaking. Bobbing in the blue water was like bobbing though life. So she let her body drift with the current of the ocean. She wished life was this easy. Instead, it was like fighting the waves all the time lately. Her stress was already melting away in the sea. Stephanie was beginning to feel like a new woman. Coming to Savannah alone was the best decision she had made for herself.
Chapter 2
Brian enjoyed throwing a football on the beach with his buddies. It was a great way to forget about things he sometimes had to witness being a firefighter. He loved his job but there were some aspects that were not for the weak. The night before there was a house fire and he and his partner went in to save a toddler. The 2 year old turned out to be fine but the scene was anything but. So a day in the sun throwing some pigskin was the cure.
He loved living near Tybee Island. The smell of the ocean, the friendly people, and the tourism kept this small island alive. There were always beautiful women on the beach. Most of the time, they were either with another man or a group of friends. Today was no different as he tossed the ball to his partner. No different until he spotted a beautiful brunette with blonde highlights and long legs walking alone to take a dip in the ocean. Brian noted that she got up from a spot with only one chair and one bag. Could this beautiful woman be alone on the beach? It could happen but he came to the beach at least twice a week and hardly ever saw a woman alone on the beach. Especially a beautiful woman.
“Hey Brian, what’s on your mind,” yelled his buddy Noah. “You’re not focusing man!”
“Sorry dude,” replied Brian as he picked up the football that he missed. “Something caught my eye.”
“Don’t you mean someone?” laughed his partner, Aaron. Aaron knew that Brain was scoping out a female. Being the only single guy in their group, Brian was always looking. Sometimes it led to a few dates but never anything further than that. Aaron often worried about his partner. He wished Brain would find a good woman and settle down once and for all.
“I can’t help it if I spotted a beautiful woman alone, walking across the beach,” said Brian. As he was talking, he kept his eye on the beautiful brunette in the water. When she came back in from the water, he might go over and find a reason to strike up a conversation.
The three friends continued to throw the ball and Brian was trying to keep a lookout on the woman that caught his eye 30 minutes earlier but he had lost her. She never came in from the water and her things were still on the white sand.
A twinge of worry twisted his gut. What was that? Why was he worried about a woman he didn’t even know?
“Hey, let’s take a dip in the water and cool off,” suggested Noah. They all were hot from the sun and throwing the football that cooling off in the blue water sounded wonderful.
Chapter 3
Stephanie let the ocean’s current take her all the way down to the pier of Tybee Island. As she walked to the shore from the water, she couldn’t believe how far she had drifted down. The walk back to her things was nice and she stopped often to pick up seashells that washed up on shore. When Stephanie made it back to her bag, the sun was beginning to set and she gathered her items and headed to her compact car. From there, she would drive back to her one room that she rented out from a romantic and quaint bed and breakfast in Downtown Savannah.
It was a short drive and within 30 minutes she was on the one way street that lead to the bed and breakfast. Stephanie needed to take a shower and think about where she was going to eat dinner. Maybe she needed a cold shower because she couldn’t get those icy blue eyes out of her mind. She didn’t come here to meet a man. She came here to release some stress.
The West Bay Bed and Breakfast was perfect for her mood and reason for coming to Savannah. It had everything she wanted in a solo weekend stay. Although the other guests she passed were couples, Stephanie felt at home as soon as she walked through the door. That was in part because the innkeeper and owner, Mary Alice, was so kind and went out of her way to make sure Stephanie had everything she needed.
The other reason she loved the little B&B was the décor. There were antique furnishings everywhere and her favorite spot already wasn’t in her room, it was nestled in a corner cove. Two short walls were bookcases, floor to ceiling. There were three cozy chairs and two end tables tucked into the cove. As soon as Stephanie checked in, she made her way to the bookshelves to discover what genres Mary Alice stocked. The innkeeper had everything: classic novels, mystery, comedy, science fiction, biographies, travel, and Stephanie’s favorite, romance.
She began reading romance novels when things began going south with her and Jeffery. She would try to tell Jeffery what she liked and didn’t like but nothing seemed to get through. After a while of really bad sex, she just read about hot steamy sex stories and fantasized that it was her. On several occasions this led to touching herself and sliding her own fingers into her wet folds. She knew there was a man out there that could pleasure her in ways she only read about. It sure wasn’t Jeffery. Then after two years of trying to make it work she caught him cheating!
“Enough about Jeffery,” she said to herself as she made her way to her 3rd floor room. “I’m not thinking about him anymore. It’s been 6 months and time to move own past the hurt” she said out loud once she was in her room.
The room was nicely furnished with antiques. A large cabinet was in the corner and there was a small seating area by a widow with two chairs angled towards each other. But what dominated the room was the bed. It was a king size four poster bed with a very plush, thick mattress. When Stephanie sat down on the white comforter, the mattress conformed to her rounded bottom like a cloud. The bathroom had a standup shower with clear glass doors and an oversized claw foot tub.
Stephanie opted for a bath and turned the water on luke warm, added the Lavender scented bubble bath cream and walked back into the bedroom to undress. Pulling out a white eyelet cotton sundress from her suitcase, Stephanie realized she didn’t have any white thongs or bra to wear underneath. The colorful thongs and bras she brought would show through so she decided to go commando. She was just going to dinner alone and possibly a stroll through the streets of downtown Savannah.
Going back into the bathroom she set her ipod to play, lit some candles and finished undressing. She easily slipped into the warm water when it was full almost to the rim. The water felt so nice. She laid back against the tub and listened to the rhythm of the R&B music playing in the background. Closing her eyes and taking in the sweet smell of lavender she began thinking about those bright blue eyes she saw on the beach today. How can a man have eyes that color? They seemed to pierce straight through her soul. He also had a body to die for. Powerful upper arms flexed as he threw the football and a wonderful washboard stomach.
Lathering up a sponge loofah with scented body cream soap she began to clean her arms and neck. As she moved the soapy sponge down to her breasts, she began to rub over her harden nipples with her fingers as she thought about the blue eyed man on the beach. Washing her taunt stomach and long legs with the sponge and rubbing her aching pussy at the same time felt sinful. She slipped one finger into her folds and then another. Stephanie knew it was useless but she began thinking about the man she saw and imagined him between her thighs instead of her own hand and his mouth pinching her nipple instead of her own fingers. That sent her over the edge. She sloshed water onto the floor as she recovered from her climax. Listening to the beat of the music, Stephanie felt only slight sexual relief. She had to stop doing this to herself. Even though she could make herself climax, it often left her wanting much more. The ‘more’ was what a man could provide. She wanted to be kissed and have a hard shaft fill her void.
Snapping out of her wet daydream, Stephanie washed her hair and shaved her legs and trimmed her girl hair into an upside down V. Rinsing off, she carefully stepped out of the tub and let the chilled water drain. Wrapping a plush towel around her chest, she applied lotion on her arms and legs then began to dress. The white sundress hugged all her curves especially her rounded ass. Not wearing anything underneath was very sensual and only she would know. Slipping on some strappy sandals, applying a little makeup, and letting her hair go naturally wavy, Stephanie made her way downstairs.
Mary Alice was in the lobby and greeted her with a warm smile.
“Hello dear”, she said. “Are you heading out to dinner?’
“Yes I am. Do you have any recommendations?” asked Stephanie.
Chapter 4
After taking a shower at the station, Brian decided to head to the kitchen area and make some dinner. He was only working a few hours tonight but after the day at the beach, he was starving.
“Hey, what’s cooking?” asked Aaron, coming around the corner.
“Not sure yet”, Brian said as he poked his head in the frig to see what the options were.
“Beef, pork, or chicken?” asked Brian.
“Something with pork sounds good. I thought you were leaving at 10:00?” his partner inquired.
“I am. Just needed some food. And I know you never turn down a meal” laughed Brian.
Aaron and Brian had been firefighters for ten years. They had seen a lot, pulled each other out of trouble, and celebrated good times. The good times were mostly Aaron’s. Married, 2 kids, and one on the way. Brain loved his own carefree single life but sometimes he had a pang of jealousy at Aaron’s family life.
Placing the pack of pork chops on the counter, Brian began rummaging in the cabinets for some sides to go with the meat.
“No I don’t turn a meal down and you usually don’t let a beautiful woman walk within your radar and not turn on that charm of yours. Someone’s losing their touch” Aaron said with one eye on Brian just in case he tried to put him in a head lock for that smart ass comment.
“What can I say?” Brian said as he tore open the pack of meat and rinsed each pork chop off in the cool water. “She disappeared on me.”
Knowing his partner didn’t like anyone questioning his woman skills, Aaron decided to change the subject.
“Kara found out yesterday that we’re having another boy” Aaron said with a grin.
“You’re kidding me” laughed Brain. “How in the hell are you going to feed three boys?”
“I guess I need to move to a farm and grow our own crops and raise cattle and chickens.” Aaron’s brow creased down as he worried about how he was going to keep three little mouths full for the hundredth time.
“Well you and Kara would do great on a farm or anywhere for that matter. Somehow you guys always make it work.” Brain smiled broadly at his partner and began basting the pork chops for the oven.
Chapter 5
Stephanie walked down River Street to the address that was on her iphone. She had gotten a recommendation from Mary Alice for the best restaurant in Downtown, Poogan’s Place.
When she finally was seated in the outdoor area, Stephanie ordered a margarita on the rocks with a cobb salad and spinach dip with chips. She was sitting under a table umbrella that provided some shade from the sun. Southern summers were hot and Savannah was no different. She had grown up her entire life in South Carolina so she was used to the humid summer air.
She watched the people walk up and down the sidewalk as she ate. For the first time in months, maybe years, Stephanie relaxed and felt comfortable sitting alone, drinking her chilled and salt rimmed margarita.
After paying her bill and leaving a tip, Stephanie decided to Google the best places to shop on her iPhone and browse in a few stores. Shopping really wasn’t her favorite thing to do but she wanted to buy some clothes from the famous Downtown Savannah Designer shops. After three shops, Stephanie ended up buying a mint green blouse and cream color shorts that would accent her long tanned legs.
Carrying her bag, and making her way down Broughton Street, Stephanie noticed that she was approaching a fire station. She could tell that the front bay doors were open by the way the lights pooled into the street. There was something about TV fire fighters that was sexy. Of course they only playe
d the role of a fire fighter. The kind men that volunteered at her local fire station were in their mid to late forties and most had a spare tire around the waist. They often came to her school and did fire safety programs for the students.
Just before she reached the first bay of the station, the heel of her sandal got caught in the metal slats that were put down for water drainage. She had really done it this time.
“Damn,” mumbled Stephanie as she tried to free her heel without breaking it.
“Let me help you with that,” a very masculine voice from the first bay sliced through the silence.
When Stephanie looked up, she immediately recognized the blue eyed Alfa male from the beach. He was wearing a very tight white tee shirt and those low rise sexy fire fighter pants with the suspenders over his broad shoulders.
She froze like a deer in head lights as he walked closer to her. He was walking closer to the dim lit street where she was stuck and out of range of the station’s lights pooling onto the sidewalk.
Chapter 6
Tourists did this all the time walking on this street. The medal slats on the pavement were wide enough in the center to not get women’s high heels caught but the edges around the pavement were narrow and sometimes an unsuspecting female would place her high heeled foot down and the pointy spike would wedge itself between the slats.
It was only funny if it was a group of females celebrating a special event or occasion and they had been to many bars before crossing this path. Most of the time it was somewhat annoying because it happened so often.
He couldn’t make out the face of this particular female but her white dress stood out against the bright moon. He could see she had a great body with very nice curves. And a slight potty mouth with those curves.
“Shit, I can’t believe this” came a sexy feminine voice from the dark.
