  “Aren’t you happy I stomped back into your life in my stilettos two and a half years ago?” she chuckles.

  A flash of her standing on that bus the first day while I verbally mowed her down fills my brain.

  “I can’t believe everything we’ve been through. We really didn’t like each other, huh?” I can’t help but laugh.

  “We had to go through it. Because now … I love you. And it all started when I wanted to see your fine naked ass in London.”

  Peyton eyes me with hungry eyes, and I try to shield her from the view of the two tour guides at the front of the open top Jeep.

  “I wouldn’t change a thing. Not even the time I tried to maul you in a tent on the beach in Miami.”

  A pack of gazelle, dozens and dozens of them, begin to run down the plane, and Peyton gasps beside me as we watch them leap and prance.

  I’d have never believed you if you’d have told me I’d be here right now. With Peyton as my wife, my child in her belly. But then again, I love her because she keeps me guessing. I never know what’s coming next.

  And I never thought I’d enjoy a life like that. But now, I crave the unknown with her. And I’m on the ride for a lifetime of it.
