When she told me that she didn’t want our relationship public until after the tour, I thought there was no way it was possible. I can’t keep my hands off of her long enough to even order a drink and I don’t give a shit who’s around. But she’s done an amazing job at keeping it all out of the tabloids. Not once has anyone even suggested that we were together and believe me they could’ve. After each concert, I kiss her as she jumps into my arms. I am constantly touching her, looking for her, smiling at her. It’s obvious as hell. However, she’s so damn good at her job and nothing has come to light. She keeps all of our private lives private.
“Right, Kegan?” Lane asks. I look over at him and he laughs. “Damn, can’t even listen without her around.”
“Fuck you,” I say, smiling.
“Anyway, I was saying that you’ll probably leave early with the boss lady tonight.”
I shrug as I finish off my beer. “No idea, why?”
“Looking forward to bringing some fun back to the bus and I know she likes for you guys to be away for that kind of shit,” Everett says.
I nod as I look at them. They care for her too. They’ve all gotten closer, and each formed their own bond. She pretty much owns us all.
“I’ll talk to her about it,” I say.
“Cool, thanks,” Lane says.
My phone alerts me and I grab it out of my pocket. It’s an email from Jennifer so I read through it real fast.
“Holy shit,” I whisper.
“What?” Remi asks.
I look up at them and smile. “We are the number one band in the country, and we’ve been nominated for a Grammy for best rock album.”
“Holy fuck.”
“Hell yes.”
“Damn.”
Lane jumps up and yells. We all laugh but get up and hug each other. This is a huge moment for us. To be acknowledged like this is more than a dream come true. We are now officially the largest money-making band for the label. We bring in more money than anyone else.
“Holy shit!” Lorelei yells, running out.
We look over at her as she holds her phone. “Did you hear?”
I move to her and sink my fingers into her wet hair, searching her eyes. “We heard, baby. Now kiss me.”
She presses her full lips to mine, and we share a slow, sweet kiss. I tighten my hold in her hair and deepen the kiss, causing her to moan.
“Damn, a free show,” Everett says.
We pull away laughing and I look back at them. “Jennifer said that all of the work that Lorelei has been doing for us is what pushed us to number one. She said all the good press has made fans love us even more.”
“What?” Lorelei asks.
The guys smile and I nod. It’s me. I’ve changed because of her and the world sees it. So yeah, it all has to do with Lorelei.
“Boss lady has us all by the balls,” Lane says.
“Shut up,” she says, laughing.
“We are definitely celebrating tonight,” Everett says, lifting an eyebrow.
I laugh as I look back to Lorelei. “They want to bring girls back to the bus, so they are wondering if we are going to leave the club early.” I smack her ass as I smirk. “You know since you still want to keep us hidden.”
She tilts her head and sighs. She searches my eyes before looking over to them. “Let’s see how it goes. Either way, you can obviously bring the skunks back.”
“Hey,” Lane says, crossing his arms. “They’re not skanks.”
She laughs and grabs my hand. “Okay, Lane. They aren’t skunks.” She looks up at me and motions with her head. “Can I talk to you?”
She leads me to the bedroom and closes the door behind us. I hear Lane laugh as he gets to the bathroom first and the other two curses. I lean against the door and cross my arms.
“What’s up?”
She sits on the bed and rests her hands on her knees. “Are you pissed that we aren’t going public with this?”
I push off the wall and kneel in front of her, holding onto her hips as I look up at her clear blue eyes. “I could never be pissed at you. I will do anything to make you happy. I would sell my fucking soul if it protected you from any sadness or disappointment.” I smile as she touches her fingers to my cheek. “But I won’t lie. I want to shout it on stage. I want the world to know that you are mine. I want to sing about it. I don’t like feeling like this is a dirty secret.” She goes to interrupt and I press my finger to her lips. “But I promised I wouldn’t say anything until after the tour and I won’t.” I pull her hand to my mouth and kiss her palm. “You own me, baby.”
She wraps her arms around my neck and rests her head on my shoulder. “You own me, too,” she whispers. “You’re not a dirty secret, I hate that you feel that way. You make me happier than I’ve ever been in my life. You make me feel things I’ve never felt before. You aren’t a dirty secret, Kegan. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
I kiss her gently and search her eyes. “You are by far the best thing to ever happen to me.”
I know in my heart I love this woman. Remi said I would know, and I did. I stepped off stage the other night and when I saw her, I knew. I knew I was completely in love. I’ve wanted to say it so many times, but we keep getting interrupted. And tonight, is no different, because as my heart pounds out of my chest, there is banging on the door.
I close my eyes as she laughs and stands up. She opens the door and I stand up, looking at Lane. He laughs as he comes in and falls onto the bed.
“Lane, what the fuck?”
He turns his head and looks between us. “Am I interrupting?”
“Yes.”
“No.”
I look back to Lorelei and she smiles. “He’s not,” she says, laughing.
“Boss lady, hook me up with Haven,” he says.
“Fucking hell, Lane. Shut the fuck up,” I say.
He rolls to his side and ignores me. “Come on. I’m a good catch. I’m way better looking than this asshole,” he says, pointing to me.
She laughs as she walks toward me, wrapping her arms around my waist. “You’re hot, Lane.” I snap my head to her, and she smiles. “But Kegan is sexy perfection.”
I kiss her head and grin at Lane. “Perfection, mother fucker.”
He rolls his eyes and sits up. “Come on,” he begs.
“You don’t even know her that well,” Lorelei says.
“Blair had phone sex with Remi last night. They don’t know each other that well,” he says.
“What?” she yells, pulling away from me. “Oh, this bitch.” She pulls her phone out of her pocket and presses it to her ear walking out of the room.
“Way to go you fucking gossip,” I say.
He laughs as he jumps up. “She’s not the boss of everyone. She thinks it’s funny.”
He goes to walk out of the room, and I grab his arm. “Hey.” He looks back and I sigh. “Mom’s doctor left me a voicemail. He said that she lied to us about there being only one new lesion. There’s a couple of them and he said she’s having trouble walking, even with the cane. He’s trying some new meds, but he felt like we should know.”
His smile drops and his eyes fill with sadness. “Did you call for someone to stay with her?”
“I’m gonna do that now. I have the at-home nurse’s number. I’ll make sure she’s there tonight and stays until we get home,” I say.
“What about money?”
“I already transferred more into her account. I’ll tell the nurse to hire a personal shopper to get everything she needs.” I grab his shoulder and squeeze. “It’s gonna be good, brother. I will make sure of it.”
He nods and looks down the hallway. “Yeah.” He glances back toward me and hits my arm. “Can we get drunk now?”
I nod and he walks away. I call the nurse, and thankfully, she agrees to stay with my mom until we are home. She told me she’ll take care of hiring a personal shopper. She promises that she will take care of my mom like her own. Just as I’m ha
nging up, Lorelei walks back in.
I smile and pocket my phone. “All good with Blair?”
She laughs and nods. “Yeah, I was just giving her shit.” She looks at my pocket and back to me. “Who was that?”
If anyone else asked me I would lie, but she deserves to know. “I had to call in a nurse for my mom.”
I explain everything and she holds me when I need it most. I need to feel her close to me and she knows that without even being told. She knows me.
“More shots,” Lane yells.
“No more for me,” Lorelei says.
I stand up and grab her hand. “Dance with me.”
We’ve been at the club for a few hours now. We’re all feeling the effects of the alcohol and having more fun than we have since the Santa Monica Pier. I haven’t been able to keep my hands off Lorelei and she’s been more than happy to allow it. The guys have all been dancing and drinking with different women and I keep laughing. That was me and now it seems like a lifetime ago. All the nameless faceless women were a distraction. It was fun, but it never meant a damn thing. Now, with Lorelei, it’s everything. I ache for her even in my dreams.
“You alright,” she whispers, moving her hands to my hair.
I grin and kiss her plump lips. “I’m great, baby. I’ve got the most beautiful woman in the world in my arms.”
She laughs and my dick hardens. I pull her closer and my hands roam her body. Her laugh disappears as I squeeze her ass and push my cock against her. Her hands move from my hair and down my arms and across my chest.
“You’re so damn perfect, big guy,” she says.
“Big guy?” I question, raising my eyebrow as I grin.
“I call you that in my head,” she says, laughing. “I might be a little drunk.”
“You wanna get out of here? I’ll fuck the drunk right out of you,” I say, winking.
She laughs as she pulls away. “Fuck yes.”
We walk to the table and she grabs her purse.
“We’re gonna head back. You guys good?” I ask them.
“We’re fucking great,” Everett says, kissing some chick’s neck.
I look to Remi and he nods. “It’s cool. I switched to water.”
“I’m gonna bring both these girls back tonight,” Lane says, kissing one and then the other.
I shake my head as I look to Remi one more time. I know Lane is just drinking his feelings away because of our mom. I know it because I’ve done it most of my life. I can’t get on his ass for it, but I can watch to make sure he doesn’t fuck up like I did.
I feel Lorelei’s hand touch my back and I turn toward her. I was an asshole before. I didn’t give a shit about anyone’s feelings because I wanted to forget my own. I used women and tossed them aside like they didn’t matter. The tabloids made me out to be a prick and they weren’t wrong. I was. I deserved all that bad press.
But staring down at the women who changed it all, my heart squeezes in my chest. I sink my fingers into her hair and kiss her, trying to thank her for everything. For charging into my life and never giving up on me, even when I treated her like every other woman.
I rest my forehead on hers and run my thumb across her lips. “Let’s go, baby.”
When we get back to the bus, we hardly make it in before we’re pulling each other’s clothes off. I get her down to her bra and panties, leaving the clothes where they drop. I lift her and she wraps her legs around me as I carry her to the bedroom. I kick the door closed and lay her on the bed. I stare down at her, astounded by her unmatched beauty. How I ended up being the luckiest bastard in the world, I will never know. I’ll never let her go. I don’t want to go one day without her by my side.
I climb on top of her and cup her face in my hands. I place a soft kiss to her lips, and she groans when I pull away. I chuckle and do it again. “I love you, Lorelei,” I whisper.
Her eyes widen and begin to swim with tears. She runs her hands through my hair and smiles up at me. “I love you, too, Kegan.”
I close my eyes, soaking in her words. She loves me. I open my eyes and wipe her tears before kissing her. She moans when my tongue slides into her mouth and pulls my hair. She deepens the kiss, making it harder and faster.
You want it rough, angel. You got it.
I break the kiss and stare down at her. Her eyes are wild, and I grin. I remove her bra and panties, leaving her exposed to me. It’s hard not to spread her legs and feast on her, but she needs more tonight and so do I.
I pull off my boxers and roll on the condom while she bites her lips watching. “Get on your hands and knees,” I demand.
Her eyes widen for a second until they darken with desire. She does as I said, and I run my hand up her spine and grab her hair, yanking her head back. She moans and I pull harder.
I tease her entrance and she tries to push her hips back. “Do you want it rough, baby?”
“Yes,” she hisses.
I push against her just enough to almost enter and pull back. She groans in frustration and I drag my other hand down her spine and grab her ass. “Beg me,” I demand, lifting my hand and smacking her ass.
“Fuck,” she shouts.
I do it again, this time pulling her head back with her hair. “Beg for it, Lorelei.”
“Fuck, please, Kegan. Please fuck me hard and rough. I need it,” she moans.
I slap her ass as I slam into her, causing her to scream. I pound into her fast and hard, pulling her hair as I do. I slap her ass a few more times before I grab onto her hip and dig my fingers in. It’s hard and will probably leave her bruised, but she’s getting off on it. She’s giving herself to me completely. Her body, her heart, and her soul.
I let go of her hair and grab her other hip, digging my fingers in just as hard. It gives me enough resistance to fuck her deeper and faster.
“Fuck, Kegan,” she shouts.
“You’re mine, Lorelei. You gave me your body and your love. I will never fucking let you go,” I growl.
“Oh god, don’t. Don’t ever let me go,” she yells, tossing her head back.
I look down at where we are connected and watch my cock impaling her. I moan at the sight and smack her ass again.
“Rub your clit. Show me how you like it, baby,” I growl.
She sucks on her fingers before reaching down and slowly rubbing her bundle of nerves. “Oh god,” she shouts.
“Good girl, keep touching yourself so I can watch,” I order.
She continues to moan the faster she rubs herself and I slam into her so hard, that with each thrust her body jolts. I can feel her getting tighter and I know she’s close. I reach up and grab her hair again, pulling her head back.
“Look at me,” I hiss.
She turns her head the best she can and when my eyes lock with her I lose all sense of control. I pull her hair harder and fuck her faster. Her body moving fast with the force. Her mouth is slightly open as she begins to feel her orgasm building.
“Kegan,” she whispers.
“Fuck, baby,” I whisper, emotions crashing over me.
She explodes around me and I let go of her hair to grab both hips. I ram into her over and over, dragging out her orgasm as I chase mine. I feel it building and dig my fingers in harder. I groan when it tears through me and pump into her until I have nothing else left.
She crashes to the bed and I pull her into my arms. I kiss her sweaty chest and neck before I kiss her. It’s the complete opposite of how I just fucked her. It’s slow, soft, and full of love. When I pull away breathless, a tear escapes her eye.
“I love you, baby,” I whisper.
“I love you, too.”
I roll over and reach out for Lorelei and I snap my eyes open when I don’t feel her. I sit up and look around, noticing I’m alone. I grab my phone to check the time, surprised it’s already after ten in the morning. I stand up and grab my boxers off the floor.
The door opens and she walks in with two cups of coffee and the paper. I smile and grab mine from he
r. Her presence immediately calming me.
“Morning, angel,” I say, kissing her. “Thanks for the coffee.”
She smiles as she sips hers. “I thought we’d spend a little longer alone,” she says.
“You never need to bribe me with coffee for sex,” I say, laughing.
She laughs as she puts her coffee down. “I’m well aware.”
She opens the paper, and her smile vanishes. “Oh my god.” The paper falls to the floor and she follows.
Chapter Seventeen
Lorelei
It’s over. Everything I’ve worked so hard for is crashing down around me. I got sloppy and that’s my fault. This is my fault.
“Baby, it’s not that big of a deal,” Kegan says, stopping me from pacing.
I snap my head to his and give a humorless laugh. “My career being over isn’t that big of a deal? Good to know how you feel,” I yell.
He shakes his head and squeezes my shoulder. “Your career is far from over.”
I pull away from him and continue to pace the small room. “You don’t understand. You could never possibly understand.”
“You act like it’s a picture of us fucking in a dirty bathroom. We’re kissing. You knew there was a chance it would come out and I told you I would handle it if it did. It’s going to be fine,” he says.
“You don’t understand!” I yell, stopping to look at him.
“You’re right, I don’t. You’re making a big fucking deal out of nothing. I fucking love you and I don’t give a shit who knows,” he shouts.
The door opens and the other three stand there looking in.
“Everything okay?” Lane asks, looking between the two of us.
“Yes.”
“No!”
Lane looks at Kegan and I step in front of him. “Stop looking to your brother. No, Lane, it’s not okay. There’s a picture of us kissing that made fucking front page news. My career will be destroyed! I’m gonna have to leave you guys.”
Kegan grabs my arm and spins me to look at him. The anger I see on his face is like nothing I’ve seen before. His jaw ticks as his eyes narrow. “You’re not fucking leaving. I told you I’ll never let you go.” He gets closer to my face and I feel his breath blowing across it. “I love you, baby.”
