“So how come we’re both still single?” Jessica asked picking up her glass of beer.
“Circumstances,” Taylor answered.
“Circumstances?” Jessica asked raising an eyebrow.
“Yes, us for instance. We met and it could have been so much more, but then circumstances kept us from anything further. I never thought our involvement would have forced you to change jobs,” Taylor admitted.
“I told you I wasn’t happy at Levi & Jensen any longer. It had nothing to do with us knowing each other. I am very happy with my new job. Yes, the money might not be the same, but it can take me where I never dreamed possible. I have an opportunity someday of being a partner. That never would have happened with Brooke.” She smiled at Taylor. “So, no guilt and I wouldn’t change that night for anything.” Her face blushed admitting that to her. “Well, maybe I would have asked for your phone number.”
The food came to the table which paused their conversation. Taylor watched as plate after plate was delivered to the table. “Would anyone like a bib?” the waiter asked, dropping packaged wash cloths on the table.
“I would, please,” Taylor spoke up quickly. Her cashmere sweater wouldn’t hold up to the barbecue sauce.
“Me too,” Jessica asked with a grin at Taylor.
The conversation was now about the food the two women were sharing and didn’t stray to what they had talked about before the food was delivered.
“I had a good time tonight,” Taylor said as they drove back to her apartment.
“I did too and I hope we can do it again,” Jessica said as she pulled to the curb in front of Taylor’s apartment building. “Maybe we could go see a movie or something next weekend?”
“I’d like that, J.” Taylor looked at Jess and leaned over and kissed her cheek. “Thanks again,” she added as the car door opened.
“Good night, Taylor.”
“Good night, Jess,” Taylor said using her formal name before closing the car door. Jessica didn’t pull away until Taylor was safely inside the building.
CHAPTER 12
Kay walked into Taylor’s office late Monday morning. “Morning, Taylor.”
Taylor looked up from her computer wearing a wide smile. “Good morning.”
Kay took a seat and looked at her friend again. “You’re happy,” she said and watched Taylor’s jaw open. “Really happy. Did you get laid this weekend?”
“Kay,” Taylor said emphatically. “No, I didn’t get laid.” Her head shook back and forth.
“Well, something happened.” Kay rested her elbows on the desk and dropped her head in her hands staring at Taylor. “So?”
A grumble left Taylor’s mouth. “I had dinner with Jessica Saturday night.”
Kay sat up surprised. “Really?” she asked and Taylor nodded. “I think that’s great, but what about her job?”
“She isn’t working for Brooke any longer.” It was Kay’s turn to drop her jaw. “We met at the mall on Saturday morning.”
“There isn’t any conflict any longer?”
“Nope,” Taylor answered.
“So, are you two dating?”
Taylor wondered how she was going to answer her friend’s question. “I don’t know.”
“What do you mean you don’t know? Either you are or you aren’t.”
“We had dinner, but there was no hand holding or kiss good night.” Taylor frowned. “I think we are friends.”
“Friends? Is that what you want?” Kay asked leaning toward Taylor.
“I’d like us to be friends, but I’d like it to be more.” The truth is she wanted them to be everything to each other. Friends and lovers and everything that went with that title.
“Did you tell her that?” Taylor shook her head firmly. “Why not?”
“I don’t know if that is what Jessica wants.” Taylor paused thinking back on their conversation at dinner. “She did tell me that she would have asked for my phone number the night in the club.”
“Are you going to see her again?”
“We’re supposed to go to the movies next weekend together.” Taylor felt that was too far away. She wanted to see Jessica tonight or tomorrow. “I wish it was sooner,” Taylor admitted to Kay.
“Then tell her that.” Kay laughed at the shocked expression on Taylor’s face. “Don’t look at me like that. She is no longer going to lose her job and there is nothing stopping you from telling her how you feel.”
“If I told her that, she’d run away from me,” she said chuckling.
“You’re in love with her?” Kay asked grinning.
“Not yet, but it wouldn’t take much to put my heart there. Right now, I am in lust with her. Big time,” she admitted, nervously laughing.
“So, she was that good, huh?” Kay asked also laughing.
Taylor’s face turned red. “It felt like more than sex that night.” She looked at Kay. “Do you know what I mean?”
“Yes, and I say again, you are in love with her.” Kay stood up. “Call her.”
Before Taylor could decide what to do, her phone buzzed with a text.
Thanks again for having dinner with me.
The text was from Jessica and her face opened with a wide smile. She began to type, ‘It was my pleasure. Would you like to share a pizza with me tonight?’ Taylor sat with the phone in her hand awaiting an answer.
Yes
Taylor couldn’t type fast enough as she wrote, ‘Come to my apartment at six.’
I’ll be there
Taylor dropped her phone on her desk and went back to work.
*
Taylor left work earlier then she normally would, but tonight she had a good reason to do so. After a stop at the local pizza joint she hurried home to shower and change out of her business attire. She had just finished dressing when the doorbell rang. Still barefoot, she glanced at the mirror near the front door. Her casual t-shirt and washed out jeans made her look younger and casual as she opened the door. “Hi, Jess. Come on in.”
“Hi,” Jess said as she entered the apartment.
“Let me take your jacket,” she said, holding out her hand. Now she got to admire Jessica’s slim form. They were dressed similarly to each other except Jessica was wearing a pair of sneakers. “Are you hungry?”
“Yes,” Jessica answered feeling a little shy. She wondered if she should have hugged Taylor when she came into the apartment or kissed her cheek. Her thoughts became unnecessary as Taylor wrapped an arm around Jessica’s waist leading her to the kitchen.
“I’m so glad you could make it tonight.” Her hand came off Jessica’s waist. “I didn’t want to wait until Saturday to see you again,” she said with her back to Jessica as she removed the pizza from the oven.
“I’m glad you asked me,” she answered sitting at the snack bar. “I wasn’t sure you would be open to seeing me sooner.”
Taylor turned around and placed the pizza down on the counter. A grin began to form. “We’re both walking on eggshells around each other, but I don’t know why.”
“I think I know why.” Her hand went to her chest. “This is very important to me. I want to see if there is something between us besides mind blowing sex,” Jessica finished with a bright red face.
“Mind blowing, huh?” Taylor asked smirking.
“Yeah. You didn’t think so?” Jessica returned her smirking.
“Oh, yeah. I did.” Taylor looked at Jessica before speaking again. “So where do we go from here?”
“I think you should feed me dinner,” she said with a grin.
They finished the pizza and put away the leftovers. “Do you want to go watch a movie or something?” Taylor asked drying her hands on a towel and hoping she sounded casual.
“Sure.”
They sat on the couch near one another, but not close enough that their bodies touched. “I feel like I’m a teenager on my first date,” Taylor admitted with a laugh when all she wanted to do was kiss the woman who was sitting next to her.
Jessica couldn’t help but chuckle at Taylor’s comment. “Me too. I think we should try and relax and enjoy each other’s company.”
Taylor lifted her leg onto the sofa and rested it against Jessica’s thigh. “Tell me more about your job?” she asked smiling.
“I like it. My boss is great and a few people who were with Brooke found out I left and looked me up.” Jessica laughed. “I don’t know how they found out where I went, but they tracked me down.”
“So, if I wanted to use your firm when my new software is ready, would that cause you a problem if we’re dating?” Taylor asked softly.
“I know it won’t be a problem. Steve in my office met his wife who was a client of the firm and Tom did not threaten his job.” Jessica watched as the smile on Taylor’s face spread wide. “Feel better now?”
“Yes.” Taylor moved closer. “Does this mean that I can get a kiss?”
“Always,” Jessica answered reaching behind Taylor’s neck and pulled her until their lips finally met. The kiss began softly, but quickly escalated into something they had shared once before. It was if their bodies remembered their night together and pressed close. When they finally came up for air, their eyes were filled with passion. Jessica now pressed her finger to her lips. “I’ve been wanting to do that since you walked into Brooke’s office and I knew it was you.”
“It may have taken me longer to know it was you, but I felt something for you that I didn’t understand at the time.” She leaned in close and kissed Jessica again. “I was drawn to you as if there was a bond between us.”
Jessica grinned and leaned in for another kiss. “I’m glad we agree that we’re going to see if we can grow this relationship.”
“Yes. I like the sound of that.”
The women continued to kiss, but holding back so neither one lost control. Breaking away breathless, Jessica moved away from Taylor. “As much as I would like to continue this, we both have work in the morning.”
“Can we have dinner Friday night?” Taylor asked straightening her clothes.
Jessica stood up. “I’d like that. Let me know what time.”
“Don’t you want to talk to me during the week?” Taylor pouted until she saw Jessica’s face break into a smile. “Okay. I’ll talk to you tomorrow night.”
“Yes,” she said stealing another kiss as she walked toward the door. They kissed for another five minutes before Jessica finally left the apartment.
Taylor felt her heart spring open with possibilities as she shut off the lights and walked toward her bedroom.
CHAPTER 13
Kay stopped Taylor before she could reach her office the following morning. “Somebody looks happy,” she said following Taylor.
“I am. Jessica and I are dating.” Taylor removed her jacket and hung it up.
“I’m happy for you, Taylor. You deserve to find happiness.”
“Thanks, Kay. I think so too,” she said giggling like a school girl.
Before the morning ended, Taylor’s cellphone rang. Glancing at the screen, she smiled. “I guess good news travels fast,” she said answering the phone.
“Ann just called me. She said Jess is so happy.”
“I am too, April.” Her voice showed her friend just how much.
“We should double date this weekend,” she said quickly.
“Maybe not this weekend. I want a date with just the two of us.”
“I understand. The date might not end that evening,” she said chuckling at her friend’s groan on the other end of the phone.
“I have no intention of jumping into bed with her.” But Taylor didn’t really believe that. They had already had sex and there was nothing holding them back. Her face flushed at some of the things the two women had done that night. Now she wondered if she wanted a repeat of that night or would they make slow and sensuous love.
“Are you there, Taylor?” April asked after her question went unanswered.
“Sorry. What did you say?”
“I asked when you are going to see Jess again.”
“Friday night. We’re going to go out to dinner together.”
“Then call me when you have a chance and let me know how it went.”
“I will. Thanks, April, for all your support.”
“I’ll always support you, honey.”
*
The conversations the two women had during the week started feeling like foreplay by Thursday night. Both women laid in bed talking softly into the phones in their hands. “Where do you want to go to dinner tomorrow night?” Jessica finally asked with a shuddering breath.
Nowhere, everywhere. As long as we end up in bed together. “I don’t really care. We can grab a burger somewhere.”
“Do you want to see a movie afterwards?” Jessica asked still feeling her speech was filled with want for the woman on the other end of the phone.
“No,” Taylor answered quickly. Did she have the nerve to tell Jessica that she didn’t really care if they ate dinner? All she cared about was what would happen afterwards. Her lower half felt inflamed with passion and knew she was dripping with want for her.
“Okay,” Jessica said with a chuckle. “How about I pick us up some burgers and fries and come to your apartment after work?”
That’s more like it, Taylor thought. “Sure,” she said trying to sound casual. “Six o’clock?”
“I’ll be there.” A shaky breath escaped her mouth. “Good night.”
“Good night, Jess.” Taylor rested the phone on her chest and just stared at the ceiling. A smile crept across her face. “You’re falling hard, woman.” Her voice filled the empty room.
CHAPTER 14
Taylor wrung her hands before opening the door to Jessica. Should she kiss her when the door opened or just invite her into the apartment with just a hug? Her body was on fire and she didn’t know if she could control herself for long before she pounced on Jessica. “Hi,” she said awkwardly as the door opened.
“Dinner as requested,” Jessica said holding up the bag. Before the door closed, she leaned over and kissed Taylor’s mouth softly.
Taylor was happy that one of them had the nerve to do as they wanted. Now she felt her little bit of resolve falling away. She reached for Jessica and kissed her passionately. The fire was burning and Taylor knew of only one way to put out the flame. She took the bag from Jessica’s hand and placed it on the coffee table. Then she grabbed her wrist and pulled Jessica toward her bedroom.
Jessica almost stumbled with the force of Taylor’s determination. “Okay,” she said with a chuckle.
Inside the bedroom, Taylor began to undress Jessica quickly. Once Jessica was standing there naked, her own clothes joined the pile on the floor. “Lay down. Please,” she added. The moment Jessica’s body hit the mattress, Taylor was straddling her body. “I can’t wait any longer.”
“Fine by me,” Jessica answered and pulled Taylor’s body down in a kiss that made their breath halt. Her hands captured Taylor’s back and she gently ran her fingers down until they reached her ass. Pulling her tightly to her body, a moan left Taylor’s mouth. The kiss stopped as Jessica flipped Taylor onto the mattress. Her lips now assaulted her skin as if she couldn’t get enough of her taste. Lower and lower her mouth went as her hands took possession of the breasts that called to her.
“Yes,” Taylor said as a strangled moan left her throat.
Lower and lower Jessica moved until her tongue made a swipe against her lower lips. Taylor’s hips automatically rose to meet her mouth. “J, please,” she begged wanting more.
“What do you need?” Jessica asked meeting the passion-filled eyes.
“Fuck me, please. Please, Jess.”
Jessica felt a shiver down her spine as Taylor begged. Her fingers played at her opening and Taylor lifted her hips waiting. Jessica teased slipping in just her fingertip and each time Taylor let out a groan.
“Now, J. Now,” she screamed.
Jessica wanted to give Taylor what she was begging for,
but something held her back and she rose over her and kissed Taylor’s mouth again. Their tongues swayed circling each other’s mouth before her fingers entered her. She would never forget the sound that left Taylor’s lips. She pumped her roughly, not worried if she was hurting Taylor. Her only thought was to overpower her until she screamed with ecstasy. Jessica didn’t have to wait long before Taylor’s body shuddered and rose off the bed in pure bliss. Her thumb pressed hard against her clit causing another quake in Taylor’s body. They both collapsed onto the bed breathing as if they had been running.
“Geez, J. That was amazing,” she said in between a rattled breath. “I was afraid we couldn’t duplicate our first time, but you silenced those fears.” Taylor now laughed. “It was more than mind blowing.” She lifted Jessica’s face until their eyes met. “I need you.”
“I’m right here,” Jessica said with a grin. “I’m here, Taylor.” Then her body was roughly thrown onto her back. “Are you in a hurry?”
“You bet I am.” Taylor pushed her shoulders back onto the mattress. “Now let me have some fun.” Her hands were all over Jessica’s body, but she still couldn’t get enough of her skin. She wanted to use more than her hands and mouth. Taylor felt Jessica deserved more than that. She climbed up Jessica’s body until she could reach the drawer in her night table. Her hand clutched the phallus that laid in the drawer already in the harness. Pulling it out, she quickly slipped into it.
“Oh shit,” Jessica groaned with wide open eyes.
She heard Jessica, but that didn’t stop her from dipping the tip of the dildo into her moisture before she began gliding it into her body.
“Oh fuck,” Jessica panted as Taylor pushed in slowly until it filled her up. “Geez, Taylor.”
“Am I hurting you?” Taylor asked concerned.
“No. It’s just…” she let out a breath and gasped, “fuck me, Taylor. Fuck me hard.”
Taylor didn’t need any more encouragement. Her hands went to Jessica’s knees and pulled her legs into a sitting position. Then she pulled her hips toward her so she could reach down and hold her. Taylor began to pump Jessica slowly before she increased her pace. Her breasts were bouncing and rubbing against Jessica’s knees. The feeling was causing her own body to respond, but she wanted Jessica to have her pleasure first. Jessica reached up taking her breasts in her hands and kneaded her before she tweaked her nipple. A moan escaped both their mouths as their movements increased. Back and forth Taylor went into her. Glistening skin added to the friction and pleasure until Jessica screamed out. Taylor could feel her own orgasm begin as she watched the pure joy on Jessica’s face. Jessica looked into Taylor’s eyes and could see her need. She reached up and unhooked the harness and pulled Taylor onto her body. Their bodies ground hard until Jessica opened Taylor’s lower lips so her clit rubbed her own. Taylor’s head rolled back and her eyes closed as her climax began. Her legs trembled as the orgasm went through her and she finally let out a strangled moan. “J,” she said over and over again until her body collapsed onto the other woman under her. Jessica was now covering Taylor’s face with little kisses as she whispered Taylor’s name in her ear. It was almost enough to get Taylor to climax again.
