She lifted up and pressed her lips to his. He smelled so good, and tasted even better. Paulo wrapped his arm around her waist and hoisted her closer. He ran his other hand up under her hair to her head and neck and kissed her deeper. She moaned into his mouth and then he slowly began to pull back, taking time to kiss along her jaw, her chin and neck as he pulled her against his chest.

  “Fina,” he whispered.

When he pulled back she licked her lower lip and he watched her.

“You need looking after in this dress,” he said and looked her body over in it.

She looked at her dress and then back at him. “What? You don’t like it?” she asked. Wondering where the hell this bravado came from. She was always so shy, but Paulo brought out a teasing side in her. A flirtiness she could get used to. He pulled her back against his chest.

“I would like it more if I could be right next to you at all times. Not like this with men wanting you.”

“No one wants me,” she said. He squeezed her snuggly.

“My brothers and I do,” he said and then stroked her jaw. She smiled.

“Tomorrow, Paulo. We’ll spend the day together tomorrow,” she said and he nodded.

“You behave. I’m watching and if one of those men touch what is mine, they will suffer.”

She raised one of her eyebrows up at him.

“It will be fine,” she said, and then he kissed her softly again.

  “I need to get back.”

“Go, I’ll be okay,” she told him and the look in his eyes definitely displayed uncertainty and displeasure in leaving her. As he walked away she felt the loss of his touch, his presence and that protected feeling she instantly had when they were close. His attitude earlier on the phone didn’t matter. She focused on tomorrow’s date, and then looked at her watch wondering when Misty would be ready to leave.

“Which one is the one he wants?” Jerry asked Toolin over the radio. They were in two separate vans waiting to pick up another few women who were special ordered by the bosses.

“He said the blonde,” Toolin replied.

“They’re both fucking blonde,” one of the drivers said.

“I don’t know. Where’s the fucking picture?” Jerry asked the driver, Frank.

“I don’t fucking have it. I drive. That’s what I do,” Frank replied.

  “Fuck.” Jerry stated.

Jerry looked at the two women waiting for a taxi. Both were gorgeous and blonde. They got the text to grab one woman, but the two were together.

“Shit, is that a security guard?” Toolin asked and Jerry looked.

“He’s just watching them walk down the block right toward us,” Frank stated.

“What do we do?” Toolin asked over the radio.

“Each grab one and figure the shit out afterward. Either way, it will work out. They’re both hot,” Jerry said and Toolin agreed.

“We need to move now. A double space just opened up by curbside,” Frank said and put the van into drive.

As they approached, they made the snag and grab as quickly as possible. What they hadn’t expected was the gunfire.

“We should walk down there a ways and get a taxi. The lines here are ridiculous,” Misty said and seemed so happy.

“What was with that guy at the table taking your number and your picture with his cell phone?” Fina asked her.

“Wasn’t that cool? He was so good looking and loaded, too. I think I impressed him. I should know tomorrow,” she said to Fina and Fina started to ask her what she meant when she heard her name. Fina turned to look, and sure enough Andriy and Paulo were coming toward them, but then they heard the tires squeal, two vans stopped on the sidewalk and the doors swung open. Fina screamed and so did Misty. The guy threw her over his shoulder and Misty was hitting him but the guy shoved her into the van.

Fina struck the guy who went to grab her and she hadn’t expected the backhand to her cheek, or how hard the impact was that it sent her body to the left and right against the van. They shoved her inside, the door closed and shots were fired at the van. It screeched and skidded down the road, taking a right. She struggled with the man as he attempted to restrain her.

“Quit fighting, bitch. You’re going to be sorry. They only want beautiful women, not damaged ones,” he yelled at her.

“Get away from me. Get off of me!” she screamed and struck him in the face, stunning him. The van swayed left and right, then took a turn. She lifted up and he hit her again in the mouth and then slammed her shoulder onto the floor of the van and sat on her when suddenly the van slammed into something. She tumbled forward and the guy griped her hair as he yelled at the driver.

“What the fuck, Harry?” he yelled. She screamed as the glass shattered and the bullets hit the window killing the driver.

“What the fuck?” the guy who had her yelled out. She scrambled for the door and he backhanded her. She screamed and her dress ripped on something sharp on the floor as the door pulled open and a crazed looking Andriy and Paulo pointed their guns at the guy. The guy went for a weapon and to grab her but she screamed and jerked to the right. She heard the gunshot. Turned and saw the guy slam back against the inside of the van, his shoulder bleeding, the gun on the floor. Andriy took it and then grabbed the guy by his throat.

“Keep him alive, Andriy. We need to know who these fuckers are. The others got away,” Paulo said, and then looked at her.

“Motherfucker. Are you okay?” he asked, climbing into the back of the van and taking her hand, pulling her into his arms.

She cried hysterically as the sound of tires squealing and more cars arriving got here.

“What the hell is going on? Where’s Misty? Did you stop them from taking Misty?” Fina asked.

“Net,” Andriy stated with a phone to his ear. The guy who took her was taken out of the van and Paulo carried her from the vehicle. They spoke in Russian and she cried, not knowing what had happened and what they were saying. It was chaos around her and there were men she didn’t recognize.

Then she heard the man who had taken her cry out in pain. Paulo pressed her head against his chest stopping her from looking.

“You keep your eyes closed and do not listen, lyubimaya,” he said so harshly yet with that endearment she was getting used to and liking. She couldn’t not listen, even though she didn’t know what they were saying.

As he got her into an SUV her whole body began to shake and everything started to hurt.

“Are you calling the police? We need help to find Misty,” she said to him and sniffled.

“No police, Fina. We’ll find her, and we’ll find out who these men work for.” She closed her eyes and clung to Paulo. She would never forget their faces as they opened up the door to rescue her. One of them killed a man, the driver to stop him from getting away. Andriy was going to kill the man in the back if she wasn’t right there to witness it. Those looks into their eyes, the seriousness like some lethal killers, would be embedded in her head forever. Instantly, she feared their capabilities, and never wanted to be one of their prey or enemies.

  Chapter 6

“We’ll take care of this, Hadeon. Mateus and Major have men on it now. Dmitri sent Grisha along with Andriy to question the guy from the van that took Fina,” Royce said. “Be grateful that your brothers got to her in time and did what they had to stop them. You know as well as I do that if this is what it looks like, Misty may not be found.”

Hadeon glanced back at Fina, who sat on the couch with Paulo, Sunny, and Major. She was saying something about the men at the table and maybe looking into the guy who took Misty’s picture.

Fina’s lip was swollen, her cheek black and blue already, and she wouldn’t let them look over her other injuries including the bruising to her shoulder.

“She has a good idea. We don’t know where else to start so why not with the men that were at the table with her and Misty tonight,” Major said, and then Sunny said he w
ould look into it with surveillance.

“Was it the French guy, Pierre?” Paulo asked her.

“No, not him. The guy that sat next to him. Misty was talking to him all night. He took her picture and smiled as he eyed over her body. What if he was like a spotter or something? You know the guys or women they send in to find prospects to abduct and then sell off or—”

She covered her mouth and the tears fell.

“Don’t, Fina. We’ll take care of this,” Sunny said.

“Want to come back to our place and stay there with Bella?” Major added.

“She stays here with us,” Hadeon stated firmly, and then Major looked at Fina then back to Hadeon and nodded.

“We’ll talk in the morning. There’s nothing else you can do. We’ll look into the men at the table. Let Hadeon, Paulo, and Andriy, when he returns, take care of you tonight,” Major said, and then kissed her cheek before he headed out. Slowly, the others dispersed leaving Hadeon and Paulo to finally be alone with Fina.

Hadeon thought about what could have happened to Fina tonight. That she could have been taken by men that sell women on the black market or to buyers anywhere around the world. Time was of the essence if they were going to find Misty.

Andriy was good at interrogations. His brother would get to the bottom of this shit fast. Hadeon looked at Fina. She had a large blanket around her body and still shivered in fear. She looked at him as he stood there with his hands on his hips and he knew he looked angry. He was furious and if she wasn’t here right now he would be hunting like Andriy.

Paulo caressed her thigh over the blanket and she looked at him. Both men were concerned about her injuries, the extent of which were unknown, but her worry was over Misty and finding her.

  She looked at Paulo.

“I’m sorry I got mad at you on the phone earlier today.” A tear fell. His brother squinted at her. Hadeon heard about the conversation and Paulo’s annoyance at her words. He initially had been thrilled to hear from her and to get the text with her informing them of her plans. It gave them each hope that trust was building between them. Then got offended.

Paulo reached out and stroked her jaw.

“We were happy to get the text. Surprised, but happy,” he told her.

  “Surprised?” she asked.

“That you thought to let us know,” Hadeon chimed in and then walked closer and sat on the coffee table in front of where she sat. His knees touched her thighs and she looked at him, her dark blue eyes glossy and emotional.

“If Paulo and Andriy hadn’t come out looking for me…”

“Don’t, Fina. Things happen. You’re safe and you’re here with us where you belong,” Paulo said.

  “But Misty,” she whispered.

“Will be found. Andriy is good at interrogations. That is all I’m going to say about that. While we’re talking, you need to know that you cannot discuss what happened tonight with anyone. Not friends, not anyone.”

“Can’t the police help?” she asked.

“Fina, Andriy killed a man to get to you, and shot another. If that man doesn’t tell us what we need to know to find Misty, then he will die, too,” Paulo said, straight-faced. Hadeon saw her eyes widen. She swallowed and then she nodded.

“They’re evil men? Sick men who took her, aren’t they?” she asked, voice cracking.

“If it’s what we think, then yes, they are of the worse kind. Men who profit off of abducting and selling beautiful, young women for various reasons,” Hadeon said.

  “Sex, you mean?” she asked.

“Sometimes, but for other things we won’t discuss,” Hadeon said.

“You should ice that lip and cheek more,” Paulo said and reached for the bag.

“No,” she snapped and then cringed as she moved. Tears stung her eyes.

  Hadeon moved closer.

“You are hurting elsewhere. Come. We need to look you over and get you out of these clothes,” Hadeon said firmly.

“What do you mean out of these clothes?” she asked.

“We could have lost you tonight. You could have disappeared forever and gone through a hell I can’t and won’t think about or I will get angrier than I already am, Fina. I need this. Paulo, too, and you need this. To know we will protect you with our lives, and take care of you. You come now,” he said firmly. His emotions were so strong and crazy that he could hardly express what he was feeling. Fina looked at him with not just fear and hesitation but weakness, and a need.

“We won’t hurt you,” Paulo added, standing up. She went to move, took a deep breath and when she stood she gripped the blanket. As they started to walk, she looked like she was in pain.

“Come on.” Hadeon bent down, lifted her up into his arms and carried her to the bedroom. She was light, feminine, and smelled so good. He hated seeing her face battered and bruised, but knew things could have been worse the longer she was in the hands of those men. He hoped that Andriy found out who they worked for and where to find Misty.

  * * * *

“No more. Please, no more,” Toolin cried out in pain.

“An address where they take the woman before they send her off? Where did they take the blonde? Where?” Andriy demanded and struck Toolin in the stomach again. Andriy had his sleeves rolled up, his tattoos showing and his gun on his hip.

  “I don’t know.”

Grisha yelled out in Russian and placed the sharp knife against the man’s throat.

“You give address or I cut you slowly and let you bleed out.”

  The man was crying.

“Okay, okay. You guys are crazy. I’m just a picker. I scoop them up and then we drop them to a warehouse in Brooklyn.”

  “Where? Address, now,” Grisha demanded.

  He didn’t talk.

“Cut his fucking throat,” Andriy said and Grisha pinched the skin.

“Okay,” Topolin said and rambled off an address. Andriy pulled out his cell phone and gave the men the address.

Grisha released the man’s head and the chair rocked back and forth. He stepped back.

“Now we wait, and if you lied, you die,” Andriy stated and stared at the man. He pissed his pants, was crying and shaking with fear. Andriy would have loved to kill him for taking his woman, but he couldn’t. Not yet. They had to find Misty and then find the ones responsible for this operation. The only thing calming Andriy right now was knowing that Paulo and Hadeon were with Fina at the penthouse under security. Andriy couldn’t be with her now even if he wanted to, he was too high strung. Too angry and disgusted. He killed the man in the van, and would have killed this guy as well if he hadn’t had his brother there to remind him that they needed answers. He hated men like this. Men who could prey on the innocent, and the weak. It was men like this that had these businesses and had no respect for life, for the flesh. Evil men, like the ones who abused him and his brothers in prison. Men so evil that their actions still haunted many who survived, to this day. Including Andriy, Paulo, and Hadeon.

He scratched his chest, the spot where the long thin scar sat somewhat hidden beneath the many tattoos. A reminder of the prison and the abuse he sustained and how he almost died there. He glanced at Grisha.

“If we need to kill him, we leave body by dumpster or ship out on next barge to Russia?” Grisha asked, fucking with Toolin.

Andriy eyed over the man in the seat looking white as a ghost, battered and bleeding.

“He’s not worth the free cruise. I say he’s into helping men find women to force into slavery and abuse, why not sell him to men who do the same to other men. Like a prison he never knew before,” Andriy stated and Grisha smirked.

“Ahhh, you are in big trouble, pissing off my friend here. I think his idea, a good one,” Grisha said, playing up the Russian accent.

“No. Please, I’ll do anything. The woman will be at that warehouse. You don’t need to kill me. I can help you.”

“How can you help us? Besides, she better be there or you die. Tonight,” Andriy sa
id.

“I can help. She’ll be there unless they moved her fast because of you guys shooting up the van. I can get more information for you.”

  “Like what?” Grisha asked.

“Like where they bring the women and train them, break them down. I can get the location. It’s secret, but I know a guy who helps train,” Toolin stated.

“One step at a time. First we get the woman back,” Andriy said and glanced at Grisha. Knowing where this location was and who was in charge could be beneficial in the future or could even save the women. He waited for the call that Misty was found and alive. Then he would need to head home and face Fina.

  * * * *

Fina stared up into Hadeon’s eyes as he carried her to the bedroom. Strong, fierce, she could hear his heart pounding almost as loudly as her own. He set her feet down on the floor, and her bare feet absorbed the feel of plush, soft carpeting. She glanced at the bed. It was huge. Bigger than anything she had ever seen before, even King sized. It made her wonder why they had such a big bed, and then made her think negative thoughts. Like multiple women and them in here.

Hadeon cupped her cheek and stared down into her eyes. “Let go of the blanket, lyubimaya,” he said in that strong tone of his.

She let go of the blanket and it fell to the floor. Paulo stepped closer.

  “Trust us, Fina.”

  “I do,” she replied.

“Good,” Hadeon said, and then slid his hand to her waist and pulled her closer. He titled her head back and gently kissed her lips, as if testing if it would hurt because of the swollen upper lip.

She moaned. He pulled back and she popped her eyes open.

  “Too sore?” he asked.

“No, Hadeon,” she said and he pressed his lips to hers again.

“Fuck,” Paulo said, and Hadeon released her lips and looked at his brother. Fina felt Paulo’s hand on her hip behind her and then his lips touch her shoulder and back on the right side.
