The Dom Ignites Her Passion
Panther Dom Galen Driscoll tells part-panther David Rees that their Alpha is looking for two men to teach Peyton about BDSM and ménage sex. David is ready to be Galen’s sub, and likes the idea of sharing a woman with Galen, but is attracted to Diane Hagen, a human accountant. Galen is open to sharing Diane instead of Peyton, so they visit her and suggest some getting-to-know-you sex and BDSM in the dungeon at Carnal Connections. Diane has been looking for a new Dom for a while and is more than willing to try ménage sex with these two men, so she agrees.
The relationship is going well, but then David’s world collapses. There are graffiti attacks on the movie studio, and for some reason the police seem to think he’s involved. Is he going to end up in jail for something he didn’t do? Will Galen and Diane no longer accept him?

Chapter One
“Dad. Dad! Please don’t yell at Mom. It’s not her fault she’s only a half-panther. We’re family, you, and Mom, and Ben, Bethany, and me. Together we can work everything out. All we need to do is stick together.”
“Don’t call me that! I’m not your father. I’ve never been your father. That bitch had already given birth to you when we first met. Get out of my house. Get out of this pack. I never want to see any of you again. You’re all destroying my chances of becoming the new Alpha’s second-in-command. You’re all dirty half-bloods. Get out! Get out! Get out!”
Tears gathered behind his eyes as David remembered the day when his world had collapsed around him. His father had forcibly thrown them out of their home, and their pack, their community. His mother and brother and sister—the baby sister he’d adored, the family he’d loved—had gone in one direction looking for a pack to join. He’d gone east alone. Alone. Alone.
David shook his head and blinked. But he wasn’t alone now. He wasn’t rejected because of his mixed parentage. He wasn’t an outcast, with no skills to support himself anymore, either. He had a pack once again. A real pack, not a collection of misfits like himself that he’d had in the forest. These were people who’d cared enough about him to teach him a trade so he could earn a living honorably.
Although his real father had tried to kill him and—No. No. He wasn’t going to think about that, either. His real father had a daughter and now he had a sister again. A woman who accepted him. His life had been turned around and it was good.
David Rees had Galen Driscoll’s photographs of the tiny river on Carnal Connections land spread out all around him on a table in the barn. Well, on the outside it was a barn. Inside it was a just a large multipurpose room with mirrors on one wall, long windows looking out over the parking lot on another wall, and a small central stage for when they held BDSM events here.
Jubilee, a human woman here in the community, had shown him how to overlay Google Earth on Google Maps so he could check the slope of the land, and he was busy sketching his idea of how much the tiny river might flood now it’d been blocked by the bank collapsing during winter, creating a small lake.
He hadn’t been here last summer, but plenty of people had told him the river had only been a few inches deep in places and no more than a foot deep anywhere. But the snow would start melting soon, and since the land sloped down to the river, the melt would run in there and become part of the lake.
A lot of people in the community here liked the idea of a lake. Many of them thought it might be fun to go swimming come summer. Others wanted to move the new portable sauna the men had made to the riverside so they could swim immediately after using the sauna.
It all sounded good to him, but was it possible? Would there be too much water? Would they end up with half their land inches deep in mud and slush with no usable lake at all? And how would they protect the environment? One hundred people marching through the property to the river all the time would ruin the plant life for a start.
Well, first things first. Would there be a lake or a muddy mess? Then, if the snowmelt would form a lake, he needed to work out how to keep the land from being spoiled.
“Hey, my friend. What’re you doing?”
“Oh, hi, Galen. I’m trying to figure out when the snow melts how much the river will flood.”
“What does it mat
ter? Why not just wait and see?”
“You want to wake up one morning and discover your bed floating gently downstream?”
Galen laughed. “Okay, maybe you have a point there.”
“It won’t flood on the far side of the land. That land rises steadily up to the north ridge eventually. Actually, the whole back of the property is higher than the front. But here, it’s much more gradual. We might get quite a floodplain. I was wondering about perhaps making a flood barrier of some sort along here.” David sketched a short line joining two lower sections of land.
“Could you have, like, an overflow valve there? Or a weir even?” asked Galen.
David tapped his pencil against his front teeth, thinking hard. “Just a storage tank would do. An overflow drain into a storage basin or tank. Then that tank water could be used for the vegetable garden in summer instead of using our drinking water. Our own mini-recycling system, like the gray-water disposal we use already for washing out the maintenance sheds and the machinery.”
David grabbed the photographs, shuffling them around and laying four in a line. “This is the lowest section of the land. We could put pipes along here, to a storage tank here, and a much smaller pipe into Leticia’s garden here,” he said triumphantly.
Galen ran his fingers along the drainage line. “If these pipes were a decent size, the kind of size a panther or a wolf could fit inside, you could get a two-for-one deal here. The shape-shifters could go down to the lake inside the pipes in dry weather instead of making a track over the land, damaging the undergrowth.”
David looked at Galen and smiled. “That may even work.”
“Of course it’ll work.”
David felt happy and energized. He liked Galen. The big blond man never tried to boss him around or rule over him because he was a full-blood shape-shifter and David was only a three-quarter blood. Instead they seemed to spark ideas off each other and help each other whenever they talked. They both lived in the apartment shared by all the unmated shape-shifters, but with so many men coming and going at all different times of the day and night, they hadn’t spent a lot of time just talking to each other. But when they had talked, David had been impressed with the panther.
Galen was a wonderful photographer. His pictures were not usually pretty flowers or scenes. Rather, they were stark and confronting, but he’d won a bunch of awards recently and now worked for a website, World Photography, as well as taking promotional and still pictures for the small boutique movie studio run by Nicholas and Curtis, people from Carnal Connections.
“Actually, I came over here to ask you…” Galen looked a bit embarrassed.
Suddenly David wondered if he’d said or done something wrong. He’d never realized how dysfunctional his family and community had been where he’d grown up until he’d come to live here. Calling the people at Carnal Connections “normal” was a bit of a strange term, since they were a mixture of humans, panthers, and wolves, and a lot of them lived a BDSM lifestyle as well. However, their behavior was a whole lot more civilized than that of the panther pack he’d grown up in. But sometimes, like now, he wondered if he was missing something that other people would have known, due to his pathetic, inadequate upbringing.
“Galen, um, have I upset you in some way?” he asked, hoping he hadn’t hurt this man. He liked Galen a lot. In fact, he liked everyone here. There wasn’t a single person who hadn’t been kind to and considerate of him—even though some of them had been wary about letting him live among them—except his own fucking father, who’d tried to murder him, of course.
“No, no, I was just thinking about something Omar said the other day.”
“Something Omar said?” David was confused. Surely he hadn’t disobeyed the Alpha of his pack? Omar wasn’t at all like the Alpha of David’s previous pack. That man had been totally focused on himself and his own importance. Doing anything to annoy him would result in a violent physical attack as a bare minimum of punishment. Omar, on the other hand, was always completely fair in his rulings, and his punishment, if any was ever needed, usually involved redressing the wrongdoing. For example, if someone took something that belonged to another person, they worked for them to pay them back.
“Yes. You know Peyton?”
“Peyton?” David really wasn’t following this conversation at all. For a moment he felt like he had when he’d first come into the community. It’d been like Alice stepping into the rabbit hole. Everything he’d thought he’d known, everything he’d believed to be the truth, was turned on its head.
“Yes, Peyton. She’s five seven or so tall, likely twenty-three or twenty-four, has pale skin and wavy light-brown hair. Her eyes are the most amazing green. She’s the main makeup artist at the movie studio.”
Ah, her. David could picture the woman. He didn’t think he’d ever spoken to her. She was very quiet. Now that he thought about it, he was pretty sure he’d never seen her talk to anyone other than the two women who worked at the movie studio, Gaynor and Ramona, and Autumn, who was mated to Nicholas and Curtis. “She doesn’t live here, but I know who you mean now.”
“Good. Omar said she wants to try BDSM ménage sex in a safe environment, so he was talking to a few of the single men. How do you feel about teaching her?”
“Who, me?”
“Well, ménage sex means two of us, you know.” Galen grinned at David.
David couldn’t say he hadn’t thought about ménage sex. Quite a few of the panthers here, and some of the wolves and humans as well, had mated into a triad. But he’d certainly never thought of Peyton in that way. Hell, he’d never thought about Peyton at all.
“You mean you and me and Peyton?” he asked.
“Yes.”
“I’m sorry, but I don’t think so. I don’t feel anything at all for her. I’m more than happy to share a woman with you, but I think it’d need to be someone I felt something for, you know.”
“Is there anyone who you’re attracted to?” Galen asked.
David blushed. Yes, there was, but he’d never even hinted to her that he’d like to get to know her better. After all, he was still very new to the community. “It’s not long since I was an outcast. Even my own father—both my fathers, the one who reared me and the one who created me—didn’t want me. I haven’t really thought of foisting myself on a woman.”
“You wouldn’t be foisting yourself. We’d have her willing participation. Besides, do I hear a ‘but’ there in your voice?”
“I think Diane’s sexy. Her breasts and her ass really turn me on. And she’s always patient and kind,” said David, blushing furiously, feeling like he was twelve years old again and had been caught looking at girly magazines.
“Diane Hagen, the accountant? Five eight, thirty years old, strawberry-blonde hair, blue eyes?” asked Galen.
David looked down at the table and nodded. He hoped Galen wasn’t going to laugh at him. But it was Galen who’d started this highly embarrassing conversation.
“I like Diane, too, and I wouldn’t want her to be hurt. You know she’s fully human? You were always set on marrying a pure-blood panther woman.”
“Yes, I know she’s human, and when I wanted a panther woman I didn’t understand that not all packs are run like the pack I used to live in. There, it was all about the Alpha. He was in full and complete control of everyone and everything. Back then, I thought any female would want to mate me once I was Alpha. Now I understand that since it’s a lifetime commitment with no divorce allowed, the only way for a mating to be successful is if everyone makes a free choice to join together. But mating’s way ahead of where I’m at. I was thinking more of some getting-to-know-each-other type activities.”
Galen grinned at David. “Getting to know each other as in getting to know each other in a dungeon, naked?”
“Fuck, yes.”
“You would accept me as your Dom? And you’d be happy to get to know Diane with me as your Dom? The three of us together?”
“Absolutely,” agreed D
avid. His heart was beating so fast he wondered if Galen could hear it. He could never have dared to suggest anything to Diane himself. After all, he still had no status. The people here had accepted him, but he was still learning the building trade as JB’s assistant. He was so lucky to have found a job he liked doing. He’d never been trained to do anything, but making things pleased him and he loved the everyday challenges of getting construction just right.
He and Galen had been drawn to each other and David trusted Galen implicitly. He knew the big blond man would never make him do anything he didn’t want to do. That even in a dungeon Galen would look after him and see to his needs. Besides, if Diane, with her luscious, perky tits and even more luscious, round ass was naked in the dungeon with them, so much the better. But would she let him touch her? He was nobody and she was the community’s accountant. Perhaps if Galen asked her she’d agree, though.
“Okay then. Let’s tidy up this mess, and we’ll go and ask her.”
“What?”
“You heard me. Come on. Pick up all these pictures and put them back in their folder.”
David’s fingers were shaking as he drew all the photographs and pieces of paper together and slid them into the file folder. Somewhat stunned, he walked behind Galen out of the barn and into the main building. Diane had a tiny office at the rear of the building, overlooking Leticia’s vegetable and herb garden. Leticia, the half sister he’d only found he had after he came here. Of course, since it was still winter, the garden was hidden under a layer of snow, but David knew the plants were just biding their time. Leticia had spent weeks in the fall weeding and mulching, laying out the garden beds ready to be planted as soon as the snow melted. He wondered if Diane was like the plants, just waiting for some men to awaken her sensually.
