Too Fast

“Do you think?”

“You might want to tone it down next time,” I teased. “I think he had a stroke.”

  Sophie giggled.

The pressure of a hand on my shoulder prompted me to turn. Luke stood before me. His eyes warm and expression hopeful. His lips moved but I couldn’t make out what he was saying.

I leaned into him and he shouted into my ear, “You look amazing.”

Too close. He was way too close to me, and my nipples hardened at the spicy citrus scent.

“How are we going to talk in here?” he asked.

“I guess we can’t,” I snapped and turned back to the band.

“Come outside with me. Just for a minute.”

  I shook my head.

“I just want to show you something. Give me two minutes.”

I rolled my eyes at him. Fine. I grabbed his hand and led him out the front of the club. We walked about twenty feet away from the loud music.

I turned and crossed my arms over my chest. “What did you want to show me?” I couldn’t let myself crumble into blubbering sobs.

He stood in front of me, his hands hovering awkwardly as if he weren’t sure what to do with them. Finally they dropped to his side. “I know I hurt you when I pushed you away,” he said. “I would give anything to take back what I said and did. But I can’t.”

“No,” I agreed, choking back tears. “You can’t.”

“I know it isn’t easy for you to trust me again. I don’t deserve another chance, Savannah, but I’m selfish enough to ask for one.” He raised his hand to roll up the t-shirt’s short sleeve on the left arm to reveal his tattoo. “I told you that this tattoo was a symbol of Nat and me. Of my commitment to my sister and to fighting to take care of her.”

Why did he have to remind me that he was a good person?

“Nat and I need you, Savannah. And you need us. My mother is doing better, and I have hope for the first time in years.” He closed his eyes for a moment before opening them to continue. “If things go bad with my mother, it won’t change anything. Savannah, from now on, it’s not just me and Nat. It’s the three of us—you, me, and my sister.”

For the first time since he’d started talking, I really looked at his tattoo. It was different. Bold, straight black lines bordered the intertwined patterns on either side. In the spaces that were empty before, there were symbols.

“This is you, Savannah.” He ran a finger over the bold lines and the symbols. “You came into our lives and wrapped us up in your strength. You held us steady and filled the empty space in my heart. You gave us hope and love. I want you in my life. I will make room for us, you and me. We fell for each other so hard and too fast and it terrified me, but love…”

I was crying as he spoke, tears running down my face. He had added me to his tattoo, the permanent reminder of his commitment to his sister. He had intertwined my life with theirs.

“I will always take care of Nat. I will always fight for her… and for you. I was wrong to think there wasn’t room for you in our lives. Without you, our lives are incomplete, two-dimensional, hollow… like the off-kilter beat of a drummer with only one drum stick.”

I grinned around my tears. He’d seen that?

“I was watching you for a while before I got up my nerve to approach you tonight. I love you, Savannah.”

I threw my arms around his neck. “I love you too, Luke.”

“Can you forgive me? Can you trust me again?”

Instead of answering with words, I brought my lips to his.

He lifted me in his arms and I wrapped my legs around him. As his tongue pleasured mine, he moved us into the inset doorway of a closed storefront, away from the smoking onlookers.

I squirmed against his erection as he kissed his way down my neck and rested my back against the wall. He ground against me, mirroring my desperation.

Now that I was back in his arms, I needed him inside me. My body needed his.

He took my mouth again, and his firm tongue against my soft, wet mouth pushed me over the edge. I shuddered against him, quivering against him, separated from his erection only by my panties and his jeans.

I panted against his neck as his hands quit roaming across my body. He was trying to regain control, and I wasn’t sure if I liked it. I would have let him take me right here next to the sidewalk.

After slowly lowering my feet to the ground, he tugged my skirt back into place. “Savannah,” he said on a moan. “I need to get you to a bed before I explode. Can you leave Sophie or do we need to take her home?”

“I’ll go see.” I had no idea what she’d want to do, but I wasn’t ready to walk back in the club yet. My legs were quivering and I wasn’t getting quite enough oxygen to chase away the mind-numbing bliss of my orgasm.

He held me, knowing I wasn’t ready to stand on my own.

  I took a deep breath. “I’m ready.”

He stepped back and gave me a crooked grin. “I can’t go in yet, but if you wait…” He shoved his hands through his hair. “I may not be able to go in for a while.”

Glancing down, I saw that his penis strained against his jeans. “Yeah, I guess people would notice that bad boy.”

  Luke

I watched the woman I loved walk back to the club and go inside. The view didn’t help with my hard-on, and I hoped that her friend would decide to stay put.

After a couple of overly curious glances from the smokers outside the club, I stepped closer to the storefront out of sight. I didn’t need anybody getting the wrong idea when they noticed the obvious bulge in my pants.

Savannah finally returned. “She’s going to stay,” she said with a big smile.

Oh thank God! “Okay,” I said. “If you’re sure.”

She took my arm and said, “I hope you parked close because I can’t walk very well in these shoes.”

More blood rushed south as I looked down at the shoes. “I really like the shoes.”

“Let’s go,” she tugged at my arm.

  “I’m two blocks down.”

She didn’t move as quickly as usual, and I would have swept her into my arms and carried her if it wouldn’t guarantee that I’d flash her backside at anybody we passed.

We reached my vehicle and clicked the remote to unlock the doors. I wanted a repeat of our back seat sex so bad I could scream.

Before I could say anything, Savannah opened the back door rather than the passenger door and climbed in.

I stood staring at her as she kicked off the shoes. “Are you sure?” I asked, trying to be a gentleman after nearly ravaging her in the doorway.

Instead of replying, she pulled her t-shirt over her head and tossed it aside.

I climbed in and shut the door.

She tugged at my jeans, and I begged her to be careful. “Watch the zipper.”

With my help, she had my jeans and boxers around my ankles, and her panties on the floor.

She didn’t crawl on my lap right away. She leaned her head down and took my cock in her hot mouth.

“What are you doing?” I panted. “I want to be inside of you.”

“Just saying hi,” she said with that naughty look in her eyes. Then she lowered her head again and kissed the tip.

“Darlin’ you are making me crazy here.”

She finally climbed onto my lap and pressed down slowly taking me to heaven in her velvet depths.

“Oh God,” she cried as she started to move.

I grabbed her hips and held her tight, taking over the pace, and slamming into her core over and over until she shouted and tremors ran through her. She sank her teeth into my shoulder and I came so violently I almost dropped her.

She curled into me and I held her tight as we fought our way down from the reckless frenzy of our passion.

I’d almost lost her. “When the fog on the windows clears, I’m taking you to my place.”

After Savannah greeted Nat and my mother, I whisked her away to the garage. After we made love slow and sweet, I held her
in my arms.

“What if I’d said no?” Savannah asked after a few minutes. “You would have been stuck with the changes to your tattoo.”

“It wouldn’t have mattered, Savannah. Losing you would have hurt so bad. The tattoo would have been a reminder but only one of many. Besides, I wasn’t giving up.”

“I guess you could have moved on anyway. It’s not like my name is on the tattoo to offend your future girlfriends. Not like a rose on your ass with my name on it.”

I ran my thumb over her lips. “I could have gone with the ass tattoo if I’d known that’s what you wanted.”

She smacked at me playfully. “You know it isn’t.”

“Besides, I never said your name wasn’t in the tattoo.”

She gazed into my eyes for a moment. “Are you saying my name is in the tattoo?”

  I nodded.

She leaned up on her elbow and looked closely at my armband.

“Oh my God. I see it now.”

I had the tattoo artist incorporate every letter of her name into the design, but the effect was subtle. “I didn’t think you’d want a bunch of hearts with your name. I had him build your name into the structure of the tattoo.”

She didn’t say anything as she traced each letter. “Some of the letters are curvy and some are spikey, pointed. The curvy ones are in Nat’s band and the spikey ones in your warrior band.”

“You fit us perfectly. I knew you were perfect for me, but it took me a while to realize you completed our family.”

  “I love it.”

  “You do?”

“I’m going to get your name tattooed across my ass.”

“Just your ass? You’re mine. Every part of you.”

  “I love you.”

I pulled her on top of me and she straddled my lap, leaning down to kiss my neck as she moved against my cock.

“I love you too,” I said, my voice hoarse with my love and my desire.

Then I rolled over, pinning her underneath me and proceeded to show her exactly how much.
