Beware of Me
Page 28
Bobby waved his hand at me to come closer. “Sterling this is my son, Mason.”
My mom let Mason go and it felt like I took a punch to the gut. The picture I had stolen of Mason didn't do him enough justice. This man before me must've been cut from stone or something. His body was lean but muscular, his face perfect in almost every way. The stubble around his jaw gave him a rugged sexy look that made my legs weak.
He took a step forward and I didn't know what to do. My fight-or-flight sense kicked in. I wanted to run away from this gorgeous man that I had no business being in the same room with. My feet were frozen in place so I wasn't going anywhere.
“I've heard a lot about you, Sterling,” Mason said. His voice was deep and mysterious. I wanted him to say my name again and again. I would never get sick of it.
“Nice to meet you,” I barely choked out. I put out my trembling hand to shake his. He ignored it and came in for a hug. I wasn't ready for this.
His strong arms wrapped around me and pulled me in close. My chest pressed against his and I could feel his heart beat against mine. His cologne filled my nose and made me swoon. What I wouldn't give to smell him all day.
Is this what love at first sight was? Or was this lust at first sight?
It didn't matter because I wanted him to be mine in every way.
Mason let me go and I wished that the hug was longer. Why couldn't he hug like my mom?
Bobby put Mason in a headlock and rubbed his head. “I haven't seen you in forever. How the hell are you doing?”
Bobby released him and Mason fiddled with his messed up hair. He gave me a smile and I almost fell over. He could get someone killed with those dark blue eyes and perfect teeth.
Mason fixed his black button-up shirt and I wondered if he was always so dressed up. Didn't matter because it looked damn good on him. “Doing great. Job is going well,” he said.
Bobby slapped him on the back. “Good to hear. You've eaten yet? Dorothy might have some leftovers?”
My mom shook her head. “I'm sorry but Sterling ate them all.”
I cringed. Being seen as a big fatty was not the kind of introduction I was hoping for with Mason.
Mason shook his head. “Don't worry, I ate plenty before I came over.”
“Grab your suitcase then and I'll show you your room,” Bobby said. They made their way up the stairs and I couldn't help but watch Mason go. It was like everything moved in slow motion. I stared at him for what seemed like days.
When they were almost out of view I heard Bobby say, “We're going to put you in the room next to Sterling.”
The blood drained from my face. My room had a door that led to a bathroom and that connected to the room next to mine. They called it a jack-and-jill bathroom. I would have special access to Mason's room. I'd be able to enter it without even going into the hallway.
Or Mason could enter my room secretly. The thought of him coming into my room late at night thrilled me in ways I never imagined. The things I could do to him...
“Sterling, would you like to help with the cookies? My mom asked.
I wanted to go upstairs and talk to Mason some more but I knew that was a bad idea. I had to play it cool. If I looked too desperate, it would scare him away.
“Sure, Mom,” I replied.
I couldn't remember the last time I actually baked anything. There was nowhere to do it at the dorms. It's not like I really knew how to bake anyways. My mom always did the heavy lifting when I would help her.
And that's how this time went. I took orders from my mom and we put the globs of cookie dough on baking sheets. It didn't take long for them to cook.
Bobby was attracted to the smell and floated into the kitchen. “Are the cookies almost done? They smell amazing.”
My mom shooed him away. “Get away, vulture. They're ready when they're ready.”
I left them to go upstairs and find Mason. I assumed he was unpacking or something. A dreadful thought entered my mind. What if he wasn't interested in men? What if he had a girlfriend?
He could be talking to her right now!
Bobby never mentioned Mason dating anyone. The topic never came up though because I never asked.
Get a hold of yourself, Sterling.
Chapter Four
I passed my room and peeked into Mason's. He stood before a bed with flannel sheets and was unpacking his suitcase. I stood in the doorway but didn't know how to announce myself.
I knocked on the door and coughed in my hand. I didn't need to do both and felt like an idiot.
Mason flipped his head around. “What's up, Sterling?”
“I was just wondering if you needed any help unpacking?”
“I think I can handle it,” Mason replied. He returned to his black suitcase, taking out a stack of neatly-folded shirts and placing them on the bed.
“Cool. Have a good night then.”
“Goodnight,” he said without looking back at me.
I stood there in the door not knowing what to do. I felt so dumb. I inched my way out into the hallway and ran to my room. I closed the door behind me and rested against it, my chest heaving up and down.
“You're so stupid, Sterling.”
“Did you say something?” a voice said.
The hairs on the back of my neck raised when I realized that my door to the bathroom was open and Mason could hear me.
I went to the bathroom and Mason had a clear view into my room. “Nope I didn't hear anything.”
Mason shrugged. “Goodnight.”
My face turned red and I closed my bathroom door. I collapsed onto my bed and stuffed my head in my pillow. I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs but I thought that Mason would be able to hear that too.
I forced myself to get up and start unpacking. The best thing to do was to move on. Mason was way out of my league and after my bumbling performance, there was no way he'd be interested in me.
I placed all my clothes in the dresser, or more accurately stuffed them in there. I grabbed my bathroom bag and went for the door when I realized that if Mason left his door open, he'd be able to watch me get ready.
I couldn't even open my door to see if his was closed. I'd look like a fool if I opened it and he saw me again.
I resigned myself to not washing my face or brushing my teeth. It wasn't like I was going to be kissing anyone tonight.
I stripped down to my red boxer briefs and jumped under the covers. The plush sheets felt luxurious against my naked skin. I rolled over onto my side and realized that I wasn't the least bit tired even though it was pretty late.
All this business with Mason was too exciting for an untouched man like me.
The pressing need between my thighs was too hard to ignore. My fingers slipped down and under my boxers. I found my erect shaft and my body swelled with pleasure. Just the thought of Mason being so close was overpowering.
I imagined him sneaking into my room late at night and getting under the covers with me. He'd kiss me gently to wake me up and I'd let him do whatever he wanted.
I closed my eyes and bit my bottom lip. My fingers worked my cock deftly, rubbing from the base to the head. Mason's mouth against mine, our tongues dancing together.
I was so close. The finish line was within sight.
My legs stretched out and my muscles flexed.
Then a knock at the bathroom door.
I completely froze in place, my fingers still wrapped around my hard cock. I lifted my head up and saw that the light under the bathroom door was on. Mason was in there right now.
Holy fuck! Could he hear me touching myself?
I composed myself and made sure the covers were past my stomach. “Yes?”
The door opened and Mason peeked his head into my room. “I was wondering if you had any toothpaste? I guess I forgot to pack mine.”
“Yeah of course. You can use mine.” I realized that my bathroom bag was on top of the dresser across the room. I cursed myself for taking off all my clothes off earl
ier.
Mason stood in the doorway, waiting for me to get up.
“This is embarrassing. I'm naked under here.”
A flash of delight crossed Mason's eyes. He stared at me with more intensity before closing the door between us.
Did I sense a little bit of desire? Was he thinking about me being naked right now? Maybe he was interested in men.
I bolted out of bed and put my jeans and shirt back on. I grabbed the bathroom bag and knocked on the door.
Mason opened it up and I walked in. “Sorry about that,” I said. I handed him the tube of toothpaste and took out my own toothbrush. I might as well brush my teeth while I had the chance. Plus anymore time with Mason was a bonus.
“No problem. Thanks for letting me borrow your toothpaste.”
I turned to the mirror and saw that my cheeks were bright red. There was no hiding my level of embarrassment.
I quickly brushed my teeth, trying not to focus on Mason who was right next to me.
I saw that the outline of my hard shaft was visible through my jeans. I casually put one arm across my pants and looked over. Mason's eyes darted upwards.
He was checking me out!
We said goodnight again and went to our separate rooms. I lay in bed for hours thinking about the two of us.
What would it be like with him? What would my first time be like?
The amount of questions tired me out and I was soon fast asleep.
Chapter Five
I woke up early the next morning to get into the bathroom before Mason could wake up. Lucky for me his door was closed. I peed and washed my face in a flash. I thought about taking a shower but it'd be too noisy and Mason would probably hear me.
I went downstairs to find Bobby in the kitchen. Eggs were being scrambled in a pan and bacon was cooking in another.
“Smells delicious,” I said, sitting down on a stool at the island.
“Sleep okay?” Bobby asked.
I thought about the interruption during my masturbation session. That pressing hard-on between my thighs still hadn't been touched to completion yet. I would have to find some time later today to take care of it. Better to do it when nobody was home.
“I slept pretty good. How about you?”
“As good as it gets. I hope you like your eggs scrambled.” He flipped them over with a spatula and broke them up.
“It's the only way I like them,” I replied.
Bobby took a plate and plopped a mound of yellow eggs on top. He neatly placed four strips of bacon next to it.
“Enjoy,” Bobby said with a smile.
“Thank you. This looks amazing.” I took a bite of greasy bacon first and my stomach begged for more.
“Is Mason up yet?”
I shook my head. “I don't think so. Is my mom up?”
“Are you kidding me? You're mom's been up for two hours now.”
I looked at the clock and it read: 7:15 AM. “I didn't know she woke up so early.”
“Every day,” my mom said as she entered from the hallway. She came over and kissed me on the forehead. “It's so good to have you back home.”
“Dorothy, you want some eggs and bacon?” Bobby asked.
“That would be great. Thank you for cooking!”
Bobby made her a plate and put it in front of her. “I'm going to go wake Mason's ass up.”
After he left, my mom leaned over. “Isn't he the best?”
“You did good, Mom. He's really something,” I replied with a mouthful of food. I needed to finish eating before Mason came down. I didn't want him to see me stuffing myself and reinforce the image that was placed upon me last night.
“Do you have any plans for the day?” my mom asked.
I shook my head. “Just going to lay around the house and relax.” I couldn't tell her that I was going to touch myself all day long to the thought of my stepbrother.
“You don't want to visit some of your friends?”
“I haven't seen any of them since high school.”
My mom snapped a piece of bacon in half and chewed on it. “What about taking Mason out and showing him the town?”
I almost choked on a bite of eggs. I covered my mouth and coughed to clear my throat. “I don't think he'd be into that. This place isn't very exciting.”
My mom shoved my shoulder. “Oh come on. I think it would be fun. There are plenty of neat things to see. The library is nice and big. The great park would be a good one too. Plus it would give the two of you a chance to get to know one another. Why don't you go ask him?”
I had to turn away to hide my flushed face. “I don't think I could do that.”
“Oh hogwash. I'll go ask him.” My mom left before I could stop her. I wanted to sink down into the ground and disappear.
But the thought of spending all day with Mason was very appetizing. I just had to act like it wasn't my idea. Which it wasn't but I couldn't let him think otherwise.
I finished eating and joined the rest of the family upstairs. They were all huddled around Mason's bed. Bobby and my mom blocked my view of Mason.
I stood in the doorway while my mom asked him the question. She stepped out of the way and I finally saw Mason. He was sitting halfway up in bed and against the backboard. The first thing I noticed was he was shirtless. The second thing I noticed was how god damn good he looked.
My mouth watered at the sight of this perfect specimen. I wanted to run my hands all over his chiseled chest. That pressing need was calling again.
Mason's baby blues caught sight of mine and he smiled. “Yeah going out, sounds like a lot of fun.”
He agreed to my mom's proposal. We were going to spend the day together.
I went back to my room in a daze. Where was I supposed to take him? What was I going to wear? Was this a date?
I shook my head. I couldn't think of it that way because I knew for sure that Mason wasn't.
I opened my closet and sighed. It might take all day just to find something to wear.
Chapter Six
The entire family stood at the bottom of the stairs and watched me walk down. I felt like this was prom night or something. It definitely wasn't.
For starters, I wasn't wearing a suit. I was very dressed up though. A white button-up shirt and nice dark gray jeans.
“You look great, Sterling,” my mom said. I was surprised she didn't have a camera.
The whole situation was very awkward. It was like my mom and Bobby were trying to get us together. But didn't they know it was forbidden?
Either way I wasn't going to question it. I wanted this to happen. And I was going to make it happen.
Mason stood by the front door wearing a tight gray shirt that was about two sizes too small. Every muscle was perfectly defined. His blue jeans hugged his waist and I wanted him to turn around so I could get a look at his ass.
Mason's eyes traveled down my body and I knew in that moment that I picked the right shirt.
Until we walked outside I and realized that it was fucking winter.
What the fuck was I thinking? The cold air breezed between my legs and I had to rub my arms to keep myself warm.
“Want me to drive? Mason asked.
It only took me one look at my 94' Toyota Corolla to realize that Mason's car would most certainly be better. “My car's pretty messy,” I replied.
Mason pulled out his car keys and we walked over to his black Ford Mustang. I could see my reflection in the shiny paint. There wasn't a scratch on it.
“Is this new?” I asked.
The car beeped and the doors unlocked. “Got it last year as a graduation gift from my dad.” Mason disappeared into the driver's seat.
I hoped I would be that lucky when I graduated. Maybe Bobby would feel pity on me for the clunker I'd been driving around for years and convince my mom to get me a new car.
I joined Mason in the car and he started the ignition. Heat came out of the vents and instantly warmed me up. I'd be all right if we stayed in the car the ent
ire time.
Mason put his hand on the steering wheel and looked over at me. “So where are we headed?”
I couldn't help but laugh. “I have no idea. My mom thinks this city is exciting. She suggested we go to the library.”
“Shall we just drive around then? You can point out different things?”
