"Seth?"
"Yeah, I didn't make it. She was already gone, but her clothes were still in the bathroom." Seth sounded a little lost to Caislyn, "there was blood on her clothes."
"I know, she told me she killed a man last night."
"Damn, I was hoping... she's going to kill again if I don't find her soon. I'm not sure she will ever be able to come back from this if she keeps this up, Cais." The despair in his voice was beyond evident. "I can't lose her, not like this."
"I know. We'll find her. I will keep trying till I get through to her again." An idea occurred to Caislyn in that moment. "Talk to you soon, Seth." She hung up the phone and looked at Ash. "You were a butterfly in Jaxon's dream."
"Yes, I thought it would be better if she didn't see me."
"Can I do that too? How did you do it? Is that something I can learn now?"
"Slow down, love." Gregore jumped at Ash's use of the endearment. Caislyn just gave him a look. "Sorry, force of habit."
"Break it," Gregore seethed through clenched teeth.
"Not now, listen to me. If I can learn how to be something else inside Jaxon's dream, maybe I can get an idea of where she is or where she's headed before she realizes I'm there. It might give Seth a chance of finding her. Once he does, I am sure he can bring her back."
"What makes you so sure?" Gregore asked, his tone giving away the annoyance he still felt.
"She loves him." Caislyn said simply. "That kind of a bond can break through just about anything." Ash nodded his agreement to Caislyn.
"It's called projection, and I can teach you."
"Good, because the sooner we get Jaxon back here the better. If there's a chance that we can destroy that prophecy and be done with all this, then I want to be ready for it."

Christine M. Butler was born into the life of a military brat in Dec. 1975. She has been a soldier, a prison guard, wife, mother, store manager, and an editorial assistant for a local newspaper. All of it has been fodder for her creative mind.
