Carrie and the Dastardly Dragons: a Paranormal Romance

My kind of girl.
We were standing under a streetlight right next to the guesthouse, completely exposed. At any time, Hunter, Easton, or any of the guards could come around. In fact, I knew at least one of the guards would be passing by soon.
And I didn’t fucking care.
In fact, I wanted them all out here, so I could show them who owned this body.
I ran my hand down, easily bypassing her thin, silk panties, to slide my finger right into her wet pussy. Oh yes. She definitely liked it. And God, it turned me on. I groaned, leaning against her, kissing and licking her neck as I rubbed my fingers through her slick juices. “Fuck, you’re so wet for me, baby.”
I kicked her legs, spreading them wider so I could have better access to that sexy cunt. She moaned as I found her clit and rubbed it relentlessly. “You like this?
“Don’t stop.” She ground her hips against my hand and I grinned, catching a guard headed towards us from across the way. He hadn’t seen us yet. But he was going to soon, and then word would quickly spread that she was mine. No one else was to touch her.
I grazed my teeth across her ear, and bit her lobe, shifting her sexy body so that we were facing him. “Yes, baby. Come on my hand. Show me how much you want me.”
Her sexy noises grew louder and I pressed harder, my finger flicking her clit relentlessly, then she was shuddering as she climaxed. The sweet smell of her arousal filled my nose, and I closed my eyes, reveling in it. My hard, thick dick pressed into her ass. I wanted to take her against the wall, make her come over and over so she would never think of screwing anyone else, ever again. Fuck her in the middle of the ring with everyone watching so every single dragon in this land would know that she was mine. Take her so hard, my dick would be imprinted on her cunt, so no one would dare fuck her again.
Carrie gasped, and I knew that’s when she’d noticed the guard. I opened my eyes; he was staring at us in shock. She swirled in my arms to face me. “Did you know he was there?”
I grinned, my smile spreading from ear to ear. Instead of answering, I rolled my tongue around my finger, sucking her juices into my mouth. Fuck, she tasted as good as she smelled.
“You asshole,” she grit out, her eyes narrowing. Then she pulled my finger out of my mouth and yanked it to her mouth. Eyes wide, I watched her in curiosity. Something told me she was going to be entertaining as fuck.
Stepping closer, she sucked it in and out, while at the same time, she rubbed her other hand up and down my cock. Shit. I needed her. Right here. Right now.
“Get on your knees,” I bit out, ready to fuck her mouth. I didn’t care that that asshole, Richard, was still watching us.
She just smiled, sucking my finger harder, then flicked her tongue across it expertly.
I didn’t know it was possible to make my dick harder but it was; it pushed against my pants, ready to burst. Fuck, I was going to explode if she didn’t suck on my dick. Right. Now.
“I said, get on your knees, Kid.”
Instead, she bit my finger, hard. I yelped, yanking it out of her mouth.
“You bitch!” I shook my hand; my finger was pulsing. She smirked at me. I growled; she had the audacity to smirk. At me. I was the one who did the smirking. The fucked up thing was I still wanted her. I stepped forward, pressing against her. “I’m going to fuck you, right here, right now. And I will demolish you. Break you into pieces at my feet until you’re begging me to stop.”
Her eyes narrowed, fire shooting from them. “You are an asshole. I would rather screw the whole of Aerwyna before ever letting you touch me again.”
“That’s disgusting. Do you know how many half breeds there are in Aerwyna?”
She shrugged. “I can only imagine, and I have a good imagination.”
“Whore.”
She just fucking smiled at me. Fucking smiled.
Then she turned around, giving the guard a friendly wave before she trotted up the walkway to the guesthouse door. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Denver. Six am sharp.” Flashing me a predatory grin, she called over her shoulder. “And don’t be late. You wouldn’t want anything to happen to the Queen’s guests, would you?” Then she disappeared behind the large, wooden door.
“Fuck!” I screamed out, kicking a bush in my way. I pivoted back to Richard, the big dick who had the arrogance to laugh at me. I pointed at him. “You tell no one, you understand? Or I will destroy you.”
He nodded quickly, his laugh disappearing in an instant. “I understand, sir.”
Growling, I swiveled around, and marched off to my red Lamborghini Aventador Coupe. It started with a roar and I sped off, wheels smoking, in complete and utter embarrassment.
Stupid slut. She had no idea who she was dealing with. I was going to tear her apart, break her down, until she was begging me to take her. And then I was going to walk away.
Fuck what my dragon wanted.

Carrie
As soon as the door shut behind me, I let the tears slide down my face. I’d put up a good front - you didn’t grow up in a pack and not know how to pretend you were okay in front of a bunch of guys. But as soon as I’d gotten inside, I let everything go. All my good feelings from spending time with Sawyer deflated, and I felt weak and useless again.
I was so stupid.
Not only had Denver treated me like a child, which I hated, but I’d opened up my legs for him like all the other women in this place. Just come all over his hand, showing him how badly I wanted him. And just after he’d treated me like utter shit.
All while he knew that guard was watching us.
Fuck, I was such a dummy. I’d seen that guard around enough to know that he’d recognized me. I would never be able to look him in the eyes again.
I was just a game to Denver, to The Elite, another stupid, clueless girl to conquer. He’d let that guard see us, I just knew it, to show me off. Carve another notch on his bedpost, for the whole world to see.
Letting my anger flare, I stomped to my room and grabbed my towel. I needed to wash off; I smelled like sex and that bar.
I fumed while waiting for the water to warm. I bet those guys had a million notches on their bedposts. Shit, none of them probably even had a bedpost anymore, they were carved down to toothpicks. I showered and dried off quickly, then put on my most comfortable pajamas, hoping it would make me feel better.
When I crawled into bed, I was still seething. The shower hadn’t helped much, which was rare.
The fact that they obviously wanted to keep the wolves out of Aerwyna was only perpetuating their problem even more. They didn’t give the wolves a chance to prove that we could be a useful part of society.
No, they were only going to stay stuck in their stupid little rich world, not opening their eyes to how awesome wolves could be. We were super tight knit, always had each other’s backs, especially when we had a good leader, like Lizzy. We had our problems, of course, least of all stupid teenage boys breaking shit all the time, but we also worked hard to solve them.
My mom gave up becoming a powerful witch for money, opting instead to devote her life to bringing new shifter babies into the world. She wouldn’t to talk to me about it, but she refused to charge for her help. She only said it brought her so much happiness to see new wolf babies born into the world. And my dad liked to work with his hands, said working in an office was for stiffs, so that meant that me and my seven siblings didn’t have much growing up.
But the pack always helped us out when we were down, giving us clothes they didn’t want anymore, or hiring us for odd jobs. But they never made us feel like we were a burden, and that’s how packs worked. You gave what you had, and didn’t laud what you did have over others.
If anyone was in danger, we all rallied to protect each other. And when we’d been taken over by evil overlords last year, as I liked to call them, everyone fought together to get us through it.
And some pack members paid for it, with their lives.
I let my thoug
hts go down that path instead of pushing them away as usual. Tears streamed down my face. I missed them. They were loyal and strong - unlike the Elite, who only cared about dragon blood and money - and had cared for me. We’d fought together to take our pack back, with Lizzy at the head.
I was stronger because of it, and I definitely knew that Lizzy was stronger because of it too.
We’d fought for our place in this world, in the dragon world.
We’d taken down one of their strongest spies, and punched a hole in their enemy’s network.
I turned onto my side, fury making fire burn through my veins and in my gut. We deserved a place in this alliance and I wasn’t going to let some stupid elitist jerks make me feel like I wasn’t worth anything.
They weren’t going to stop me from being a strong, capable wolf. And I was going to rock the shit out of tomorrow. Punch them straight in their ever-wolf-hating guts.
And I knew exactly how. By doing exactly what I did best. Just like Sawyer said.
They were probably going to hate me for it, but that was on them.
It took me several minutes of forcing myself to think of other nice, peaceful things to calm down but I finally drifted off to sleep.
Except, I dreamed, instead.
My magic swirled around me. I was caught up darkness, and my power was so strong I could hardly breathe. I was in my wolf form, feeling the tug of the moon. I followed it, howling, reaching for that part of me that was affected by my shifter. I was on a hill, with mountains rising up on both sides of it, and the sound and smell of water somewhere close by. The full moon hung in the sky like an orb, and stars stretched from one horizon to the other like a bowl of diamonds upended.
The grass under my feet was silver in the moonlight.
A short distance away, a woman stood with her back turned to me, her long blond hair blowing in the breeze, along with the robe she wore. Everything about her screamed dragon. Her magic was strong. And there was something about her, something that I felt when I was around Lizzy.
When she turned to look at me, I realized why.
She was pregnant; her belly protruded, at least seven months along. Her eyes locked on mine and she let out a scream.
Three wolves shot past me, growling as they ran towards the woman. They were like bullets from a gun, covering the ground in a blink. The first one launched at her and she screamed at the same time I did.
I woke up, screaming and thrashing. Everyone ran to my room, afraid for my safety. Lizzy and the guys searched the room while my mamá came to sit next to me in the bed. I had to force myself to calm down to reassure them that I was okay. It took a bit to convince them, but as soon as they’d left, I threw my bed covers off; my alarm was only two minutes away from going off anyway.
I got dressed, determined to find these wolves who’d betrayed us, betrayed the dragons, and killed innocent people.
Once I was ready, I grabbed my phone, pulling up a contact and glared at the picture he’d sent me. His hazel eyes stared into mine and I swallowed hard, hoping I wasn’t wrong about him. Then I tapped the call button, and took a deep breath.

For some goddamn reason, Denver called me last night to tell me we needed to pick Carrie up at six am in the fucking morning. I wasn’t in the mood for another day of time wasting, certainly not so early - what was her problem anyways - but since it was the Queen’s orders, I showed up. Denver and Tallon parked next to me, with Denver looking like he’d been up all night.
I snorted. Probably screwing a trio of women.
But that wasn’t my problem. If he was tired all day, maybe he’d learn not to pull that shit. I jumped out of the van, I was driving today, and we all walked towards the door.
She walked out the door before we got there, striding out with confident steps. She wore simple black jeans and a light blue t-shirt that contrasted against her tan skin. Gone was the made up face, including the blue eyeshadow, and in its place was a more natural look.
She couldn’t cover up the smell of her wolf; having her hair down made it permeate my nose even more, and it burned me from the inside out.
She was a wolf; the enemy.
She was also devastatingly gorgeous. A natural beauty.
And I hated that I found her so beautiful.
Aside from her stunning beauty, there was something new about her - a no-nonsense attitude that radiated from her. Somehow, her entire demeanor screamed ‘don’t fuck with me’ and it suited her.
It made my dragon sit up and take notice.
A sexy woman with spunk and attitude gave me wood like no other.
I watched her carefully as she walked toward the van. Denver ran to open the back door for her but she didn’t even look at him. Instead, she turned towards Tallon. “Ready?”
I sputtered. What the hell was going on?
When was Denver ever a gentleman? And when did women ever ignore him?
Tallon gave her a confident nod and she climbed in, sitting down. Tallon got in after her, scooting in next to her, and Denver climbed into the passenger seat up front.
Where to?” I asked over my shoulder.
“Same place as yesterday.”
Dread filled my stomach. I didn’t know if I could go back to that place again. I swallowed down the bile in my burning stomach, gritting my teeth, and put the van in gear.
Tension was thick in the van. No one spoke. I glanced at Denver who stared ahead, jaw clenched. Tallon was looking out of the window, his eyes sliding back and forth as we drove. I followed the road and eventually parked where we had been yesterday.
Denver hopped out again and opened their door.
“You don’t need to pretend that you have manners, Horns,” she snapped.
“Don’t be a brat, Kid,” Denver retorted. “I’m just doing my job.”
Denver was a big fat liar. I’d never seen him open the door for a girl, with the exception of his sister, ever.
“Just ignore him.” Tallon climbed out, holding out his hand for her and giving her one of those brilliant smiles he knew how to turn on. She took his hand and he helped her down. Still clasping her hand, he guided her towards the spot, even though she already knew where it was. Denver froze, staring after them, his face a mask of rage.
“What the hell is going on?” I stopped next to him.
“What makes you think something is going on?” Denver bit, chest heaving, then he stepped forward, trailing after them and leaving me behind. I grunted, trying not to show how much I hated his dismissal, and mentally prepared myself for the task ahead.

The closer we got to the crime scene, the stronger a sense of foreboding came over me. I didn’t usually mind crime scenes but ones with wolves were always difficult. Carrie, however, walked to the scene like she knew exactly what she was doing - with direction and intention. As soon as they reached the scene of the crime, she let go of Tallon’s hand and I saw the feelers of her magic spread out from her. It didn’t take long before I realized she was pacing like an animal, sniffing the air. The moment I realized it, I could see her wolf.
Anger thrummed inside me and I grit my teeth, trying to contain it.
She didn’t kill Hannah. The words I told myself weren’t very reassuring.
She suddenly stopped and sniffed the air, then turned to us. “I’m going to shift now.”
I just stared at her. So what?
She motioned with her hand for us to turn around. “Do you mind?”
“Aren’t you used to getting naked in front of others?” Denver folded his arms over his chest and rocked back on his heels, his arrogance in full force.
Carrie offered Denver a deadly stare.
“You’re not my pack.” The she added politely. “Please give me some privacy.”
Even Denver couldn’t argue with her request for respect. We were assholes but we weren’t about doing something against a woman’s wishes. I sighed. Denver rolled his eyes and Tallon look
ed just as reluctant. But we all turned around.
I felt it when she shifted. Her magic washed over me like a wave and my dragon woke up. It clawed its way up to the surface, sliding just under my skin, tasting this foreign magic.
And it liked what it felt.
Shit. My skin was suddenly hot, my body breaking out in sweat and I could feel my eyes change: they glowed orange.
“Control yourself,” Denver hit my arm, breaking me out of my spell. He saw it.
“I’m trying to,” I bit out. I had no idea what this was.
It wasn’t hostile the way it usually was when my dragon was yanked to the forefront like this. It was more like the dragon wanted out to see for itself what this new magic was.
When we felt her complete the shift, we turned around again. Her clothes were in a neat pile on the ground. Next to it stood a wolf with honey fur and liquid brown eyes. She was smaller than I had imagined, lithe, but her power was undeniable.
I felt an immediate contradiction of emotions. Hatred poured through me and bloody images flashed through my mind. And yet, her magic on my tongue was palpable, sweet. I could suck on it like candy. And my dragon did, relishing in the feel and taste of it.
I walked away, back towards the car, sucking in large breaths, trying to get a hold of myself. I shoved the images deep down, the dark part of me that I never showed anyone, and imagined good things; our last family trip to Italy, buying a car with my own hard earned money, my last threesome with Tallon. I grinned; that was fun.
When I turned back around, Tallon and Denver were watching me, giving me concerned looks.
“You okay, man?” Tallon asked.
I grunted. “I’m all right.” I shoved my hands in my pockets and walked back to join them. I could keep my shit. She isn’t the same wolf.
