Knowing there was nothing he could say to further help his friend, he simply said, “Yes, sir, I’m on it,” and he left the room.

The die was cast; this would be a war offering no quarter to any combatant. There would be no peace until Islam was only a rumor.

  The end…

  Chapter 1

  Genocide?

  20 May 1600 hours

  1600 Penn. Ave.

  DC

General Levi Levins, Commanding General of the Armed Forces of The Republic of America (ROA) sat in the Oval Office of the old United States White House. Sitting there, at the desk of the U.S. President he pondered the fate of any new nation that found itself confronted by an Islamic Caliphate’s Army; an Army that could conceivably field a total of possibly up to two-hundred thousand fighters. The total forces of the ROA consisted of slightly more than one thousand.

Levi’s adopted daughter, Katie lay sleeping on the office couch. Seeing her lost in dreams drew his thought to her future. Right now it certainly didn’t look like her adult life would consist of a cottage with a picket fence and family. No, it looked like her life would continue to revolve around what Levi thought could be a long, long war.

Levi would send her back to Defiance, only he knew she would not go, and if he forced her, she would come right back at her first opportunity. Katie had sworn not to leave Levi’s side until she was married; she was still six weeks from her fourteenth birthday and was already the best Sniper Levi had ever seen.

Earlier, Levi had sent his best friend and XO, Colonel Gus Murtaugh on a mission to capture the Supreme Leader of the DC Caliphate Forces. He, and an unknown number of his staff had escaped in the final moments of the battle for DC. The soldiers of the Caliphate now lay dead; to the last man.

While inspecting the White House grounds, an underground parking garage was discovered to hold the bones of several thousand beheaded Christians. Clothing scraps showed Priests, Nuns, Pastors, and Clergy, all appearing to be Christians and Jews. The severed heads were in a separate pile on the northern side of the garage.

Initially, Levi had decided to allow this Ruhullah Majid to escape to tell his superiors of the huge army that had destroyed the eight-hundred Soldier’s of Islam in DC. Levi had hoped this might instill fear into the ranks of the Caliphate fighters, but after finding the crucified remains of Pastors outside of the burned down remains of their Churches, coupled with the bones of so many thousands of Christians and Jews, he had ordered Gus to find and capture this Majid. This Majid, who would dig his own grave.

  Oval Office, WH

  DC

Ruhullah Abdul Majid was ushered into the Oval Office in chains binding his hands and feet. The Oval Office, where Levi sat and prayed that this Majid character would not escape justice.

Majid was terrified, but tried to look dignified and terribly put upon. “How dare you treat the Messenger of Allah, may his name be praised, in such a manner. Release me at once and then bow down and accept the faith and love of Islam, Allahu Akbar.

Levi slowly raised his head and looked Majid in the eye and said, “Majid, you are an animal, and at the very least a mass murderer. You are not here to preach to me or anyone else. You are on trial for the murder of thousands of Christians and Jews. How do you plead?”

“How do I plead?” shouted Majid, “You have no authority over me or any member of the Caliphate. We are subject only to Sharia Law; now release me, immediately.”

Levi’s eyes caused sweat to trickle down Majid’s spine when he said, “Since you have no defense to put forth for the consideration of this Military Tribunal, I, General Levi Levins, Colonel Augustus Murtaugh, Captain Neal Page, and Sgt. Major Bradley Cobb will indicate their vote.”

Levi asked each member of the Tribunal to declare their finding of guilt or innocence. Each member reported a guilty verdict upon the defendant Abdul Majid.

General Levins then said to the defendant, “Majid, this court has recommended that I pronounce a judgment of guilty in this case. I add my finding of guilty to the other members of this Tribunal and sentence you to death for the crime of the murder of thousands of fellow human beings.

Majid, you will be taken to an overpass of I-395 north of DC, and there be hanged by the neck until you are dead. My only regret is that I cannot have you hanged once for each of the persons you murdered.”

Majid began to beg, “But, but, I did not murder anyone. I was completely unaware of any such crime.”

Majid, will you become a convert to the Jewish Faith if it would save you miserable life, and will you renounce Islam by destroying your Quran?”

Majid began frantically nodding his head and dropping to his knees, he said, “I have never believed in Islam or the Quran. I was forced by my family to become a Cleric. I spit on the Quran and eagerly will become a Zionist. Please, I humbly beg you to spare my life, I do not deserve to die.”

Well, Majid, I would guess Allah is none too happy with you right now, but you will be able to make your case to him for forgiveness very soon.

“SSgt. Simms, gag the prisoner and place him, under guard in the center of the skulls piled in the parking garage. He is to remain there, under guard to consider his sins, until dawn. At that time, the sentence is to be carried out.”

As Majid was now gagged, he could only offer muffled pleas for mercy; pleas that would go unheard.

“General, we have two more prisoners for the Tribunal’s consideration; a General Al-Rahman, and a Private Sayed. Would you like to reconvene for their trials or wait until tomorrow?” said Colonel Murtaugh.

Levi received nods from the other members of the Court. He said, “Bring them both in and let’s get this over with.”

“Yes sir; Sergeant Grant, bring in the prisoners.”

The finding for Al-Rahman was a duplicate of Majid’s, guilty with a sentence of death. He was placed in the center of the bones of the bodies of murdered Christians and Jews.

The young Private, however, could not be tied to any specific crime, causing the Court to refrain from prosecuting him. The young man said he was eighteen years of age and had been drafted into the Army of the Caliphate.

Levi asked him of his allegiance to Islam, and the man told them that he and his friends had secretly asked, “If Allah was God, why did his Islamic Armies keep losing wars to everybody?” He also said that there were many thousands of draftees who, like himself, had only followed Islam because of their father’s insistence.

“Sayed,” asked Gus, “where were you born?”

“I was born in Cleveland, sir.”

  “What is your first name?”

  “Ali.”

“Tell me, Ali, how do we know that you are not lying to us to save your life?”

Ali had already accepted the fact that he would also be executed said, “You don’t; the Quran even tells us that these lies are acceptable to Allah.”

“Tell me, Ali,” asked Levi, what you think will happen to you now?”

Ali looked at the ground and said, “Sir, I expect to be executed, and if I may, I would prefer taking a bullet to the back of the head instead of being hung.

Sir, I have seen the horrors committed upon the Christians and Jews but did nothing to try to prevent it, though I don’t have a clue what I could have done beyond being murdered myself.

Please, I beg you to get it over with. I am getting very scared and nervous.”

Sergeant Grant was ordered to take the prisoner to the corridor and wait there.

Levi looked around to each face and finally said, “I know I may be a fool, but I believe him, and if he is telling the truth he could provide us with invaluable information about this Caliphate. Opinions, please?”

Gus agreed with Levi, as did everyone in the room, including the Sgt. Major. The consensus was to gather what information he
had, and either let him go or enlist him as an interpreter.

Gus opened the door and directed the prisoner be brought back.

When the guard had returned to his post, Levi looked at Sayed and said, “Son, are you willing to share what you know about the Caliphate in return for your life?”

“Yes, of course; I have no love for those religious fanatics. Sir, I must also remind you that I have confessed my crime of not trying to help all those people who were murdered. I would like to make a deal, not for my life, but I will agree to assist you in any way I can, and I will accept your judgment when I have told you all I know. I make no demands for continued existence.”

Gus said, “Son, that’s pretty fatalistic for someone who is only eighteen; are you trying to con us?”

Ali continued in the same monotonic voice saying, “Of course I am afraid, but I really no longer care about my life. You don’t have to ask me to denounce Islam; I did that in my heart long ago. So, what do you want to know?”

“Ali, I thank you for your openness and your willingness to help defeat the Caliphate, but you should know that it is our goal to eradicate this religious cult from the American continent. Are you still willing to help?”

“Yes,” said Ali in a flat and simple voice.

Levi said, “All right, then we will provide quarters for you tonight, and Colonel Murtaugh will begin your debriefing tomorrow.”

Sergeant Grant, who had heard all of the exchange offered to provide space for Ali in his tent, and together they were dismissed, only after Sergeant Grant was ordered to see that Ali was secured by a chain from stretching from a tent pole to his cot.

“Whoa,” said Levi, “either we have found a golden nugget of one of the best liars I have ever heard. For now, I’m going with the golden nugget. If we find him to be truthful, we may have found our way around killing them all, and that pleases me. I know earlier I was willing to commit genocide, but that was my raw emotion talking. If we can rescue, liberate, and convert non-combatants, we may accomplish our goals and avoid going down in history for conducting a holocaust.”

Let’s hold our opinion for discussion until the morning; good night, gentlemen, we’ll adjourn until 0900.

Majid became more frantic as the night progressed and he sat among those he had ordered beheaded. By the time SFC Carter and a squad of troopers came to take him to his reward, Majid was close to insanity as he felt the ghosts of the tormented haunt his mind.

Al-Rahman spent the night sobbing. The sentence of hanging was carried out at 0545 hours on 21 May 01.

  Conference Room, WH

  DC

The Command Staff gathered in one of the West Wing Conference Rooms to discuss the fate of Ali Sayed. Levi opened the meeting by saying, “Well, we’ve had a few hours to contemplate Sayed’s fate. Colonel Murtaugh, we’ll start with you and go around the table.”

Gus began by saying that he felt the ROA had little to lose by giving Sayed an opportunity to prove his worth but remained somewhat skeptical of any Caliphate combatant’s compliance in support of the ROA. He cast his lot with Levi’s comments of the night before in that this young man could prove to be a golden nugget in the war against Islam and the Caliphate.

Each member of the group, save one, felt the same and it was decided to debrief Ali Sayed in the hope of finding a way to end the existence of Islam in North America, without committing genocidal mass extinction.

Only the Sgt. Major warned the group to be very cautious. He reported that he had gone to his tent the night before, and read the Book of Joshua. He related that our God, Yahveh, ordered the Israelites to kill every Canaanite, and their livestock, as if even one escaped, future generations would build a new nation and Army to defeat Israel.

In finishing his remarks, he said, “I cannot agree with the extermination of a people, and we must remember that there must still be many hundreds of thousands, perhaps even millions of Muslims across the world that will want revenge against us if we kill all Muslims here in North America.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that we must be very careful not to create a holocaust while still ending the stain of Islam.”

Levi and company agreed with the sentiments of the Sgt. Major and ordered Gus to begin the interrogation. The meeting was concluded at 1015 hours.

  Chapter 1

Day One – A Bad Day Gets Worse

They were driving along Algonquin Parkway in Louisville when Walt saw the sign for the Dixie Highway up ahead.

“Let’s stop at Al’s and get a couple of burgers Doll.”

“I could go for a burger,” his partner replied.

“Okay, I’ll call into the station and tell them.”

“Tell Sarge to have you stop calling me Doll.”

They had been assigned to patrol the west side of Louisville for six months now and had only run into general domestic disturbances, bicycle thefts, and a few drug busts. They didn’t encounter anything that ended up being dangerous or too exciting for that matter. The west end of Louisville was the low-income area of the town and was populated with lower middle class and poor blacks and whites. It had a bad reputation that was much worse than reality.

“Walt, move your hand, or I will break your fingers. I can’t drive with you trying to play grab ass all the time.”

“I love it when you talk tough like that Jo. It really turns me on.”

She slid to a stop in front of Al’s, grabbed his hand from her knee, and bent the palm backward until he yelled, “Damn, please let go! That hurts.”

“Keep your hands to yourself, or I will report you to the Captain.”

“Now wait a minute Jo; you used to love me. We have been partners for three years, and you used to let me touch you.”

“Walt that was one time when you got me drunk, and Bill and I were fighting. I didn’t know what I was doing, and you act like we were lovers. This has to stop, or I can’t be your partner.”

His face got red, he tensed up and had to calm himself down before he said anything. He had loved her from the first week he met her. She was five feet four inches tall, a buck twenty and dark brown hair. She had a figure that really turned him on, in her uniform, or wearing street clothes.

“I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself. I promise to be good from now on.”

“Seriously, Walt, if you grab me one more time I’m reporting you. I want to be your damn partner, not your lover, and if you can’t live with that, then we can’t work together.”

“I’ll be good. Now let’s get some burgers.”

They walked into Al’s and sat in the back with both of them facing the door, a habit that helps to keep Police Officers alive. Germaine, the waiter, came over, took their order, and poured two glasses of water.

“You guys are late tonight. It’s 11:00 and the chef went home.”

“Germaine, turn the TV to Fox News and tell Al to cook them himself.”

“We don’t want no stinking FOX News on in this place.”

“You give me a rationof shit every day, and you still change the channel to FOX. Why don’t you just do it and save the stress for something else in your life,” asked Jo?

“Because I like it when yo’ face turns that white girl’s red. You must have some Injun blood in your family. Now, Walt, there has some Black blood stirring around in his family tree. See that black curly hair; one of my homeboys got in there somehow back in the day.”

“Screw you, Germaine. If I wanted my ancestry checked out I’d go to that damn place on TV all of the ti…”<
br />
“Walt, shut up. The announcer just said that China has done something wrong to the USA. Shut up and listen.”

The FOX anchor said, “We have just received news that the International Money Fund, the United Nations, and the Common market have dropped the US Dollar as the World Currency and switched to the Chinese Yuan. Reports indicate that China has bribed many of the influential leaders of those organizations to force the change. The DOW Jones has plummeted all day due to the speculation and closed over 5,000 points down. Unnamed sources in the Whitehouse tell us that the President will close US trading until further notice to help stabilize the market.”

“Bill’s Dad has been warning us to buy silver and gold for years. Bill, thought it was stupid. I’m glad I bought over ten thousand Dollars’ worth of silver coins five years ago. Silver has tripled in value while gold has only doubled.”

“You know me, I’m a prepper. I have silver and gold coins plus enough food, ammo, and guns to start a small country.”

“We have a six month’s supply of food, but I wish we had bought some ARs and more semi-auto pistols. We only have three shotguns, two lever action 30 30s, and my 9mm Ruger and Keltek. I should have purchased a couple of Glocks and two AR15s.”

The TV got much louder just as Germaine brought their burgers, fries, and drinks to them.

“Breaking news! Russia just invaded Belarus, The Ukraine, and the three Balkan countries. They have also placed their ICBMs on alert to launch if any country interferes with their invasion. Jack Terry, the Secretary of State, has logged a complaint with the UN and the President has called President Putin to register a personal complaint on behalf of the countries being invaded.”
