But I can’t help it, I just feel so happy, I’m not going to let anything spoil it. And I’m going to be the best half-sister any baby ever had and I’m not going to let anything bad or complicated happen to himher, herhim. Babies aren’t complicated, they’re simple, it’s just grown-ups that make things complicated for them.
AND if I see my dad, and see the baby, I bet I’ll see Gene too, she won’t be able to help seeing me because we’ll both be her grandchildren. And she won’t need to try to be my dad any more.
She will be our grandma. Just that.
