Impulsive Destiny

“Where is she?” Zane asked.
“Quinn managed to track her down, but Winter said she’s not going to talk to you,” Cam explained. “She said she’s stayed here too long already, and it’s time to move on. Then she said something about not being a cat person.”
Zane let out a frustrated sigh. “It’s probably for the best.”
“What did you want to talk to her about?” Cam asked.
“Nothing,” Lexi responded for Zane. She figured it was best not to divulge too much about their brief encounter with the Mage. They would run into Winter again when the time was right.
“Was that all you wanted to talk about?” Zane asked impatiently with Lexi still over his shoulder.
“Nah, I’ve got lots to talk to you about,” Cam drawled. “Ow! Why are you beating on me, sweetheart?”
“Don’t be a pain in the ass,” Claire warned. “We can tell them about the babies later.”
“Wait!” Lexi called out, when Zane started to walk away. “Babies? Zane, stop! They said babies.”
That must have gotten through to Zane because he stopped and turned toward his brother. “Fucking show off,” he grumbled, and Lexi laughed.
“Yep, I made two babies,” Cam gloated. “Our surrogate threatened to castrate me when she found out, but other than her nasty temper, she seems fine.”
“This makes me even more thankful someone else is handling the pre-birth babysitting,” Claire added.
“Well, now we have to try for twins,” Zane told her. “Otherwise, Cam will forever be telling me he’s better at making babies than I am.”
“He won’t do that,” Lexi said with a snort.
“Yes, I will,” Cam told her.
“We’re off to practice,” Zane chirped as he carried her in the direction of their home.
Lexi wasn’t sure about the twin idea, but she was definitely willing to keep practicing.
“Zane! You can’t just toss me over your shoulder like some caveman.” It was hard trying to sound stern when she didn’t really mind him taking her home to do naughty things to her body.
Setting her on her feet just outside the door, Zane leaned forward and rubbed his cheek against hers. “Have I told you how much I love you recently?”
“Oh no, you are not getting out of trouble that easily. You are a very naughty kitty, Zane,” Lexi scolded.
He flashed a playful grin. “I can behave.”
Lexi laughed. “I seriously doubt that, but I’m not sure I’d really want you to anyway.” There was no denying she loved Zane most when he wasn’t behaving.
Author’s Note
Dear Reader,
Thank you for taking the time to read Impulsive Destiny. I hope you enjoyed Lexi and Zane’s story as well as finally getting to see Cam and Claire work things out. I knew when the shifter brothers made their first appearance in Embrace the Heat, that they would each need to find their happily ever after. Two of the three brothers have found the right woman, and I have big plans for Jase in the future. You’ll get to meet his mate soon, but don’t expect her to make things easy for him.
When I wrote the first book in the Moon Virus series, I only had three story ideas, and I wasn’t sure if this series would continue beyond those first three books. With each book, I come up with new directions to take with the characters in this world. The sixth book will be available in January 2017, and I promise you’ll learn why Winter is still hanging around.
Reviews are hard to come by, but invaluable to an author. If you enjoyed Impulsive Destiny, please take a moment to write a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads.
