I was just so damn happy.
Chapter 68
Sade
I said my goodbyes to Khloe and Holly and went in search of Trent. I checked the back patio where I had seen him last. He wasn’t there. I drifted down the hall and spotted him in his office, sitting at his desk. He looked a little tired, but I hoped he wasn’t too tired. I had plans for him and his body.
“Hey, husband of mine,” I said, startling him.
He looked up from the laptop and smiled. “Hey, wife of mine.”
“So, the house is empty. We’re alone, like really alone, for the first time in our new house with that big ol’ bed. Why aren’t we naked?”
He grinned and closed the laptop. He got up from his chair and made his way toward me. His limp was noticeable as he moved. I imagined the strain of the day was catching up to him. I didn’t dare offer to wait until he was feeling better or comment on the knee at all. He didn’t need me reminding him of his injury.
He reached for me, yanking my hips against his lower body, and kissed me soundly. I kissed him back, giving him all I had. My tongue plunged into his mouth as my hips ground against him. I reached my hands up to hold his head steady while I plundered his mouth, taking everything he had to offer.
He growled low in his throat and began to walk. I took a step backward, letting him guide the way, trusting him completely. When he pulled his mouth away from mine, I was left breathless and panting. He grabbed my hand and practically dragged me across the living room where Leia was happily snoring away on the new couch. He kept going until we were in our bedroom, the huge bed looming before us.
“I want you naked,” he said. “You promised me naked.”
“I did. I want you naked too.”
We each stripped out of our clothes, our eyes on each other while we did. I stared at his magnificent body, enthralled with every inch of him. I was the first to reach out and touch him, running my hand over his chest. I stepped closer, my breasts brushing across his skin as I trailed the same hand around his ribs, moving to stand behind him.
My husband stood perfectly still, letting me explore his body in the soft light from the bedside table. I kissed his shoulder blade and ran my hand down his back and over his firm ass. I felt and saw a few scars marring his perfectly tanned flesh. They were scars I had seen before, but this time, I took the time to kiss each one.
I brushed over his thigh before sliding my hand back up and moving it across his lower back as I rounded his body. He looked down at me. I offered him a small smile, my hand completing the circle around him and resting on his chest once again.
“You’re beautiful. Hard and scarred and perfect in every way.”
His eyes flashed with heat. “My turn.”
Desire poured through my body. I dropped my arms to my sides and stood perfectly still, allowing him to explore my body as I had explored his. He started with my breasts. His hands, slightly callused and perfectly rough over my sensitive skin, moved from one to the other. He dropped a hand to my hip, the area I was usually very self-conscious of because of the extra thickness that clung to my bones no matter how hard I tried to get rid of it.
He gently squeezed and kneaded my hip before moving around behind me to what he had proclaimed to be his favorite part of me. He used both hands to massage my ass, squeezing and rubbing. I heard him groan and knew he was enjoying himself. Heat was pooling between my legs under his very intense perusal of my body.
By the time he was standing in front of me again, I was ready to explode. My legs quivered, and I could feel the need burning low in my belly. I wanted him something fierce. His hands reached for my face, turning my chin up a bit, and he kissed me. It was a slow, leisurely kiss that matched what he had just done to my body. He explored my mouth with his tongue, taking his sweet time.
I felt as if I would melt on the spot. My breathing was shallow when he pulled away from me. I stood in the same spot, panting and staring at him.
“Come,” he whispered.
I stepped forward, expecting to climb onto the massive bed.
He stopped me. “No, not yet.”
He reached his hand out, going directly between my legs and cupping me. I was already hot, but the heat of his skin against mine made it even hotter.
I whimpered, the sound escaping my lips as I struggled to remain standing. My legs were shaking. He had done nothing more than caress my body, and I was on the verge of a climax. The power he wielded over my body was undeniable.
He rubbed the heel of his hand against me. The sensations of pure ecstasy raced through my veins. I gasped, dropping my head back. His mouth moved to my breast, sucking a nipple between his teeth as he held his hand over me, rubbing but never penetrating. It was enough. He could make me orgasm with very little effort. My body was always attuned to him when he was near.
Being around him, seeing him, smelling him, it triggered a primal response somewhere in my brain, and I always found myself on the edge. All it took was a heated kiss, a well-placed touch, or in some cases, some softly spoken words in my ear.
“Come,” he repeated the word next to my ear.
I didn’t have to ask where he wanted me to go. My body responded just as he demanded. I moaned, loud and low in my throat as the orgasm flooded my body. I jerked and spasmed against him, my hips grinding against his hand as he held me close.
He stepped back and gently turned me to face the bed. The damn thing was so high, it hit me about mid-thigh. I moved to lift my leg to climb on the bed when he stopped me.
“Lie across the bed,” he ordered, his voice thick with desire.
I did as he said, lying face down on the bed, my feet on the floor, my ass exposed. His hands caressed over both cheeks before he slid one hand between my thighs. I felt the finger part my swollen folds and held my breath, waiting for that first penetration.
When his finger slid inside me, I moaned with pleasure. He pulled the finger out and replaced it with his swollen cock. He slid in slowly, one hand on my back and the other holding my hip. I didn’t want to move. Everything felt so good.
I could feel the hair on his thighs tickling against the back of my own. I could feel everything much more intensely than usual. All of my senses felt heightened. The feel of the down comforter under me and his hard shaft throbbing inside my body were glorious.
He moved slowly and purposefully with long strokes deep inside my body. I reached back to touch him, gripping the flesh of his thigh in my hand and squeezing. He growled low in his throat. His leisurely pace changed, becoming much faster and harder.
I released his thigh. Both hands moved to grip the blanket as I held on for dear life. He rocked hard against me, sending shards of pure pleasure spiraling through my body. He was a man on a mission. I cried out when a thrust sent me several inches higher on the bed.
“Oh god,” I moaned, my body no longer mine to control.
“Hold on,” he groaned, his hands gripping the flesh on my thighs.
“Trent!” I screamed when I felt myself tumbling into the blissful ravine of ecstasy.
He shouted my name and pounded into me at such a rapid rate, I briefly wondered how he could move that fast. He stopped moving, still buried inside me. I felt him jerk a few times, his breathing ragged.
“I think I really like having our own house,” he whispered.
I giggled and turned my head to look back at him. He stepped away and helped me off the bed. I threw back the blankets and climbed between the sheets. He followed behind me and pulled me close. My entire body was humming. It felt like I had run a marathon and now had a million tingly little sensations popping up all over me.
My heart was still beating fast as I held him close. I could feel his heart beating fast as well. I kissed his chest, stroking my hand over his skin before leaning up and dropping a kiss on his jaw. I felt completely boneless and settled against him.
We lay in total silence. Every once in a while, an aftershock would tear through my body. “You oka
y?” he asked with a small laugh.
“Yes. Good. I feel like I have an electric charge hooked up between my legs. I keep getting these lovely little sensations through me.”
He laughed. “That sounds painful.”
I moaned, licking my lips. “Definitely not painful. I might just orgasm all over again.”
“I would love to see that,” he said. “Really, I want to watch.”
I laughed. “You’ll be the first to know.”
I let out a long, loud sigh, my finger tracing little circles on his chest.
“Everything okay?” he asked.
“Perfect. Everything is perfect. I was just thinking about how lucky I am. I know we talk about it a lot, but after something like that, I can’t help but think about it again.”
“Think about what?”
“How we met. It was so totally random. I feel like I should send someone a thank you card.”
He laughed. “I’m not sure who you would address that to or how you would send it.”
“I think the only thing I can do is be thankful every day that you are in my life. I promise not to take anything for granted. I promise that even when you make me crazy frustrated, I will think about what my life would be without you in it. I will think about moments like this, and my anger will evaporate.”
“That’s a big promise, but I agree,” he said. “We’ll both promise to look back on this moment and remind the other of what we have. I promise to love you always, even if I may not like you in the moment.”
“I dread our first real fight,” I mumbled. “Can we promise to never fight?”
He chuckled. “I would like to say yes, but we’re both stubborn, headstrong people. It’s bound to happen. In fact, I’m already looking forward to the making up part of the fight.”
I laughed and squeezed him tightly. “You make me so happy. I hope we never fight, but if we have to, I too will look forward to the making up.”
“I love you,” he said, kissing the top of my head.
“I love you, too.”
I felt myself drifting off to sleep in his arms. He provided me with so much comfort and a feeling of being wrapped inside a warm cocoon that I never wanted to leave our bed. I knew I was a lucky woman. I had never imagined I would ever find a man that would love me unconditionally. He accepted me for who I was and didn’t try to change me. I never felt less than beautiful and always felt treasured. When I walked into the room, he looked at me as if I were the only one in it.
He looked at me like I was his everything. He was my everything. I hoped he got the same feeling when I looked at him. I wanted him to feel that same sense of being loved and always knowing there was someone in his corner, even on the roughest days.
Chapter 69
Trent
I wasn’t the least bit nervous. I chalked it up to being an experienced groom. If other couples knew how much easier and how less stressful it was to have the wedding a couple of months after being married, everyone would do it. I didn’t have any wedding day jitters, and I wasn’t worried the family would hate me or the bride would be a wreck.
It was easy-peasy. Sade and I had opted to stay apart last night just to make the day a little more special. Her mother had insisted on it, and I was happy to go along with the plan.
I had yet to see Sade’s dress. She refused to give me any details about it and often teased it was a red dress. I told her to wear whatever she wanted, but I was secretly hoping for something traditional.
I walked into position in front of the archway, which was actually a pergola covered in lush green ferns at the English Garden in Wolf Lakes Park. Sade and I had searched for the perfect place to hold the ceremony. It had taken Khloe’s very impressive negotiating skills to secure us the date on such short notice.
I smiled out at the small crowd of people we had invited. There were a lot of unfamiliar faces, as well as a few I recognized very well. My old Army buddies that lived close had made the journey. That pleased me more than I could say. Bentley and Mira had also made the trip.
I stood up front, and when the music started to play, announcing the beginning of the procession, I smiled, anxious to see my bride. Richie and Khloe came down the aisle first, followed by Bentley and Julia. We opted to keep the wedding party small. Truthfully, the only reason we had a wedding party at all was because Julia put up a fuss.
Then everyone stood, and I felt butterflies in my stomach. I waited, watching with anticipation for my bride to make her way down the cement aisle surrounded by grass on either side. Then, she was there with Justin by her side. I had to close my eyes for a brief second before looking at her again.
She was stunning. She’d chosen a white sleeveless dress that highlighted her curves while giving her a perfect hourglass figure. I was so in love.
“Careful, big boy,” Richie whispered from beside me. “Daddy would not be happy if you pounced on his daughter in front of God and everybody.”
I only smiled in return.
We repeated our vows for our friends and family to hear before I finally got to kiss her and make her mine all over again. We rode in a stretch limo, along with her parents and the wedding party, back to the hotel I had acquired.
Khloe had been in charge of getting the newly renovated ballroom ready for our reception. It was essentially the grand reopening of the space. I couldn’t wait to see what she had done. She had proven to be very good at anything I asked her to do. She had become invaluable to me, and as far as I knew, she was no longer looking for what she called a real job.
She was perfectly happy working for me, and I was perfectly happy to pay her well enough to keep her around. The limo pulled to a stop in front of the hotel, and we all piled out. I kept Sade back, wanting a brief moment alone with her.
“You look absolutely gorgeous,” I told her.
“Thank you. You look quite dashing in that tux.”
“Thank you for marrying me—again.”
She giggled. “Ditto. I think we have appeased my parents. They will no longer be mad at us. Julia as well.”
“Whatever makes them happy,” I said dryly. “I aim to please.”
“We better get in there. I know Khloe has worked very hard on this.”
I nodded, anxious to see the ballroom myself. I had been banned from entering it about two weeks ago. I had to trust Khloe. She assured me she knew my style and would make sure the ballroom was the talk of the city.
We waited at the closed doors, waiting for the announcement we had arrived. I took Sade’s hand in mine when I heard the DJ say our names. The doors opened wide. Sade and I stood unmoving. I could feel my jaw hanging and quickly snapped it closed.
“Holy shit,” I whispered under my breath.
“She did all of this?” Sade asked breathlessly.
“I sure as hell had no part in this.”
We walked into the room that looked like something that one would find at Buckingham Palace or some other equally royal event. There were hundreds of twinkle lights neatly strung and hanging from the ceiling. Circular tables were perfectly spaced around the area, draped with pristine white tablecloths. In the center of each were elegant arrangements of white flowers.
“I don’t even know what to say,” Sade breathed. “I feel like an idiot standing here.”
I laughed. “Your friend outdid herself.”
“Look!” Sade pointed to the center of the room with a gold monogram on the floor.
It was our initials intertwined in gold writing. I shook my head. She had truly outdone herself. There was a massive chandelier hanging directly over the area. It looked very high end. I was positive the ballroom would be booked up for the next two years with all of the little extra details she had added to my initial plans.
Khloe approached us. “Too much?” she asked.
Sade wiped a tear from her eye. “I love you. You are amazing. Thank you.”
I nodded. “Yes, thank you. This is absolutely stunning. I could have never imagined it
could look like this. Truly, thank you.”
“The photographer was in earlier,” she said. “The one for the brochure.”
“Perfect, thanks,” I said still in disbelief.
“I think you two are supposed to be heading to the front for your little introduction,” she said, shooing us away.
We spent the next two hours dancing and mingling with our guests. Justin approached me at one point and asked to talk with me in private. I was immediately on guard.
“What’s going on?” I asked him in the hall outside the ballroom.
“I wasn’t thrilled that the two of you ran off and got married without a word to anyone,” he started.
“I’m really sorry about that.”
“I know you are. I want to thank you for taking such good care of my little girl. I couldn’t have asked for a better son-in-law. Welcome to the family.”
I smiled, my spine going a little straighter as my heart filled with pride. “Thank you for welcoming me into the family. I promise I will make sure she is always taken care of. She will be happy.”
“I don’t doubt that for a minute,” he said.
We rejoined the party. I immediately found Sade and dragged her onto the dance floor. I kissed her as if we were all alone. I was so damn happy she married me. The wedding had been perfect. It made it all feel more real, and I knew it pleased her father. That was important to me. He was like a father to me before, but he was absolutely my father now.
“Are you ready to get out of here?” I asked, my mouth close to her ear.
“I am. Are you going to tell me where we’re going?”
I laughed. “Nope. It’s a surprise. You’ll find out in about ten hours.”
She giggled. “That narrows it down to the other side of the world, I suppose.”
