Cage

Cage smiled at Bobby and Bobby turned to Ryke, “Ryke came to us after losing his parents as well. He was angry with the world, with himself and had a chip on his shoulder the size of the Rocky Mountains. But as the years went on, Ryke turned from this angry young man to one of infinite patience and love. He has the biggest heart and while he made some mistakes with his love, he fixed them in the way that only Ryke could. I’m grateful that I get to see how Ryke loves Ever. She has a beautiful soul and is the perfect fit to be at Ryke’s side. I can’t wait to see what their future brings. They have asked to recite their own vows.”
“Cage, will you start.”
Cage nodded, signing as Bobby interpreted, “Wren, you are my light. My life and my love. I have been lucky enough to love you my whole life through and until the day I die. I get to grow into the man I’m supposed to become while you grow into the woman you are meant to be. I get to be your support, your champion, your protector and the man who will give you the world if you want it. I love you. I can’t wait for this chapter and the next ones in our story.”
She smiled, her eyes shining, “Cage. You have been the boy I loved from kindergarten. I have seen you grow, change and adapt to the world around you and you did it without complaint or anger. You are the man I have always dreamed of, the only man I want at my side and in my life for the rest of it. I love you now, then and forever more.”
Bobby asked them if they took each other, and they said “I do.”
And then he moved on to Ever and Ryke. Their vows were sweet, kind and loving and when Bobby pronounced them all man and wife, Cage took Wren’s face in his hands and kissed his mate, and his wife.
He knew he would never take that title for granted and he loved the woman in his arms.
As the crowd cheered for them, they turned, smiling and laughing and spent the night dancing, eating and spending time with their families and friends.
If this was how their life was to start? It was going to be pretty damn perfect.
Epilogue
Wren
Twelve Years Later.
“For the love, Cage? Can you come get the baby so I can make dinner? She changed into her wolf again.”
Cage walked into the kitchen and laughed as he saw their youngest girl running around as a tiny wolf.
She was only two, and had been changing since her second birthday, but it was really inconvenient and she had ruined way too many sets of clothes.
Wren sighed as she picked up the pieces of the outfit June had just ruined and then threw them away and went back to making dinner.
She and Cage had had three kids and knew that they wanted just one more. Their first, a boy named Kai was tough and strong, but also had the sweetest heart of anyone. He was also a hybrid. Like Cage.
Cage had been so surprised when Kai had changed to his animal for the first time and while it was shocking, it also fit Kai to a T.
Kol had been thrilled that Kai was a hybrid and had been flattered that they named their child after his brother.
Cage had laughed and told Kol that he was Kai’s godfather and that of course they would name him something that meant something.
Kol had been wrapped around Kai’s finger. And Wren thought it was bad. So did Kol’s mate. The woman was a freaking saint and helped Wren all the time with kids, though they had kids of their own.
And then Wren had their first little girl.
Madelyn was born with a full head of hair dark hair and was the best baby. Kol and his mate had been there for it all and Wren was as close to her as she was the other girls.
And to her everlasting love, she thought it was the cutest that the men in the crew were smitten with the babies.
They doted on all the kids, but anytime one of them had a girl? Oh lord. It was another story.
She loved it and when Madelyn changed the first time into a wolf, Wren had never seen one cuter.
She loved that tiny wolf. She was full of spunk and sass. And yet, she was also kind and caring. June came next. And she had a little spitfire personality.
Wren knew that she would keep them on their toes and hadn’t been wrong.
Cage could often tell if June would change into her wolf before it happened and could save many outfits that way, but she didn’t have that ability and had almost cried when she had to buy new clothes all the time.
She had found out a few weeks ago that she was pregnant again and she loved it.
She knew this baby was a boy. She felt it in her soul and couldn’t wait to meet him.
Cage came back in, June was back in human form and chewing on his fist and pointing at the things in the kitchen, babbling in her tiny voice and patting Cage on the face, wanting him to see what she wanted him to see.
He chuckled softly and leaned down and kissed her.
*Go sit down. I got this.*
He was slowly starting to be able to make sounds again, but it hurt his vocal cords and she didn’t like the idea of him hurting, so she had him use his ability instead.
He strapped June to his chest and she sat down on the couch and watched him as he finished up dinner.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to help?” She asked and Cage shook his head, *You need a break babe. I know you are tired and that the new baby isn’t making it easy on you.*
She smiled and then sat back, enjoying the view.
Kai came in, “Mom? Can I get you anything?”
She shook her head, “Just a hug.”
Kai smiled and walked to her, sitting down next to her and hugging her.
He was getting so big and grown up now. He was eleven and looked exactly like Cage had at that age.
She loved it.
She kissed his head and when Madelyn walked in the room, she sat down next to them on the couch on the other side and Wren snuggled with her babies on the couch while her mate cooked them dinner.
Life was freaking perfect and no one could tell her otherwise.
The End.
Cage Langston had a problem. One that he couldn’t fix until he got the answers he needed. Ones that would help him figure out if the monster inside him would be passed onto his mate. Until he knew for sure that she was safe from that, he kept his distance. Loving her from afar and wishing that she was in his arms, his bed and his life. When the twists and turns of life are thrown his way, will he finally be able to claim her? Or are there too many obstacles in his path?
Wren Anders has loved Cage since she was old enough to know what love is. The only problem with that? The man didn’t want anything to do with her. Ignored her at every turn and though she believed they were meant to be, she didn’t want to thrust herself on him. Feeling unloved and unwanted could only be okay for so long. Wren is ready to give up on her dreams, but Cage finally tells her his secrets and shows her him. Will she leave when his secrets are revealed? Or will she stay and fight for the man she loves?
