by Shadows Finger

Suddenly, the fiercely battling Feng Yu’s eyes glowed ruthlessly as he spun his body in a full circle. While he turned, his grip on both swords grew tighter as sent larger amounts of his aura into them. Quickly, his aura formed a whirlwind of energies which trapped the surrounding fiends.

“Dual Extremity Sword Style - Thunderblaze Sword Slash!” Feng Yu shouted as he slashed both of his swords simultaneously creating two circular sword beams one made of thunder with the other made of flames. Quickly, both sword energies merged creating a long circular line of thunderblaze auras that expanded outwards from his central figure, the further this line of sword beam traveled, the more destruction a field of sharp thunderblaze energies would cause.

  Blaze! Puff! Puff! Puff!

Following the sound of flesh being sliced apart, the scent of roasted meat soon became prevalent in this battle zone, wafting through the air along with the bloody scent from the mists of blood that had formed in the surroundings.

The bodies of the low-class fiends that surrounded Feng Yu soon started to fall towards the bottomless abyss and the fairy palace.

“Huff... huff...” After finishing his attack Feng Yu panted slightly as beads of sweat started to trickle down his forehead, his eyes moved from the corpses of his enemies landing on the figures of the newly arrived 1st Tier leaders.

“I thought something was strange. It seems that these fiends are specifically targeting me, maybe the leader of the Palace Command has sent for my death or subdual, damn! Those guys certainly don’t look like pushovers either even with my earth grade Void Disk, I doubt I’ll be able to escape from the pursuit of that odd-looking flying artifact on that guy's back, not to mention that nymph...” Feng Yu thought to himself as his vision finally locked onto Kira’s wings.

Seeing his gaze, the usually indifferent Kiria smiled in a teasing fashion as she spoke, “Well, aren’t you observant, if you obediently come into my arms then I shall promise only to break half of your body’s bones and leave you with a bit of your spirit...”

Ulan hearing Kiria’s words laughed as he looked at Feng Yu to speak, “Haha! Human don’t listen to this b*tch, she says only half, but this is in reference to us belonging to fiendkin. Half for you is not different from all, now if you allow me to subdue you then I can at least guarantee you a slightly painless journey to the Palace Lord...”

The surrounding powerful fiends hearing his words quickly broke into hearty laughter, “Hahaha!”

Feng Yu hearing their words frowned, but he didn’t do anything rash he used the time of their speech to recover some of his exhausted aura from the abundant energies of the surroundings before looking both Ulan and Kira in their eyes and saying with a smile, “Well then, come and get me!”

Upon finishing his words, he pressed his foot on top of the controlling rune of the Void Disk once again causing it to shoot towards the distance as he soared towards his battling allies. Kiria, Ulan, and the other fiend leaders seeing this scene frowned, but soon their expression became that of a sneer.

“Humph! A futile attempt, human when I catch you, you will wish you’d listen to me!” Ulan said as his large figure blurred vanishing in an instant as his artifact wings glowed in a strange light pushing him closer and closer towards the now distant Feng Yu.

Kiria also flapped her water wings easily surpassing Ulan as she closed in on Feng Yu’s position with unstoppable speed, the other fiend leaders where only a small distance behind both as they also utilized their artifacts to chase.

Their figures quickly vanishing across the broad sky battlefield leaving behind only the desolate sounds of war, and brutal battle...

  Chapter 136

A Deadly Chase, A Shocking Aura!

The war was now at its peak, filling the sky with clusters of stray energies that rumbled about the regions, laying waste to any things in their paths. At the distant section of this battle zone were the figures of three individuals currently locked in a deadly battle, their bodies wrapped with balls of energies that collided back and forth repeatedly generating shockwaves that shook everything within their vicinity.

Suddenly, one of the figures reformed from this mass of energy forming into the figure of a young looking dwarfin with curly orange hair and a stubble of beard. His arms were empty but clutched into a fist which seemed filled with endless power as if he needed no weapons.

He looked towards the two beams of light that continued to clash repeatedly vaguely making out the forms of a golden-winged fairy and a well-armored fiend with a single horn on his head wielding a spear with a long pony purple ponytail.

“Tsk! This son of b*tch has somehow recovered most of his battle prestige...” Leon cursed while wiping the blood from the corner of his lips as he looked at the battle with Troop Commander Vandus and Myria. He then repositioned himself on his artifact and soared towards the fiend once again transforming into a ray of energy.

"Hmph!" Troop Commander Vandus seeing this mocked as he twirled his spear towards Myria causing a purple whirlwind to push her away as he pointed his finger towards the rapidly approaching Leon.

Phewww! Quickly, a mass of dark purple energies formed around his finger which shot towards Leon like a ray of light.

Feeling the threat behind the beam, Leon quickly twirled his body to side spinning out of the range of the rays which continued downwards crashing into the walls of the crater below.

BOOOM! The walls broke to pieces as an explosion no smaller than 1000 meters formed, the fiend seeing this remained calm as he channeled more energies into his finger shooting a continuous stream of finger beam attacks towards the still approaching figure of Leon.

Swish! Swish! With a slight turn of his body, Leon continued to narrowly avoid the assaulting rays of beam attacks quickly arriving behind Troop Commander Vandus. As this happened, he quickly lifted both of his arms above his head gripping both of his palms together as his muscles budged even further.

“TAKE THIS!!! Hammering Smash!” Leon yelled as he smashed his hand downwards at the head of Troop Commander Vandus without holding anything back. The energies from his body erupting wildly as both of their hairs went into disarray due to the forces of the wind.

Troop Commander Vandus seeing this smiled as he lifted his already outstretched finger and attempted to meet it head-on with Leon’s attack. However, before his finger could connect with Leon’s attack, there was a change.

“Aqua Gravitas!” Myria said as her voice resounded through this section of the battlefield, the water energies of the world condensing into multiple spheres of water that surrounded the body Vandus.

The moment this water sphere surrounded him, his body became sluggish as it became harder even to think much less attack, he frowned before speaking, “You and your damn fairy magic!”

He tightened his grip on his spear as he flexed his muscles causing the water spheres to shake as if they could break apart at any moment, but it was this moment Leon’s smash attack had finally managed to connect with his head.

Bang! Both arms violently smashed into the head of Vandus causing his already heavy body to fall from the sky at blinding speeds no different from a beam of light. He fell deeply into the bottomless chasm quickly reaching its end as he collided with the earth; both Leon and Myria also followed soon stopping right before the end of the ravine looking at the new crater that formed within with clumps of rocks crumbled on top of each other.

“Maybe that will teach this bastard to take us lightly...” Leon said with a smirk on his face. However, Myria remained silent as she moved her gaze around the rocks sensing the energies of the environment.

As Myria was inspecting the situation, the voice of Leon could be heard as he exclaimed, “Eh? Not good! Chosen Yu is trouble! Where did those bastards come from?”

“What?!” Myria hearing those words quickly withdrew her senses as she looked upwards, there she saw multiple rays of light beaming across the airborne battlefield with one red light before the rest. However, carefull
y looking, one would notice that the rays chasing behind where almost upon it, especially the foremost blue ray which was only moments away from catching up with it.

“Damn! We have to stop them before they catch him!” Myria said as she prepared to cast a new spell, her eyes glowing in a bright blue light as the magical forces of the world condensed around her figure once more.

“Right!” Leon responded as he channeled his energy into his flying artifact in preparation to make one full soar towards the Feng Yu. It was a pity, however, for their attempts would be hindered...

Bang! The crumble of rocks soon exploded revealing the slightly injured Vandus who only had a long trailing line of blood that fell from the corner of his lips. He looked towards Myria and Leon with a smile on his face as if he wasn’t bothered by their previous victory in their combat and spoke, “Fufufu! It seems you’ve only now taken notice. Yes, the human is also one of our main objectives, naturally we would have sent in a few specialists to ensure his successful capture. Still, I didn’t think your army would be this pathetic with no capability of hindering their movements...”

Hearing his words, Myria and Leon frowned as they both knew that the only reason their army was short on core power was because of the missing elders who were currently recovering their source energies in the healing chambers. Not bothering to explain anything to the enemy, Myria looked and Leon who then nodded his head.

  Swish!

With a flash his body shot towards the sky as he rapidly soared towards retreating Feng Yu, the Troop Commander Vandus seeing this sneered as he replied, “Where are you going? Get back here!”

He lifted his arm causing a purple net to form above their figures as if it had been set beforehand, seeing this purple net, Leon’s face grew unsightly as he realized they had fallen entirely into the enemy’s trap.

Myria who had been chanting her spell the entire time opened her mouth and yelled, “Aqua Blades!” Immediately following her voice, the water energies of the world quickly formed into multiple blades that shot towards net above with two of them shooting towards the sneering figure of the Vandus.

The clusters of water swords soon collided with the purple net creating a loud boom, while the two water swords that shot towards the troop commander were destroyed by the spear which skilfully danced in his hands.

“This troublesome fellow...” Myria cursed slightly as she noticed that not only did her attacks towards him fail, the purple net was also firm and stable. Leon’s figure slowly descended once more and arrived beside Myria as he looked towards the Vandus with a solemn gaze.

As he saw their expressions, Troop Commander Vandus commented, “Um. That’s right! You won't be able to leave here unless you can defeat me! I’ll say this now that we are about to truly begin... my strength shown before is only my normal state, allow me to show you what my new awakening is...”

Bang! Quickly, his body grew to the size of 15 meters with his spear growing to a size even more significant than himself. His eyes glowing in a darker light as he looked towards Myria and Leon before pointing his spear at them before saying, “Come!”

  Swish! Swish! Swish!

Their figures vanishing once more turning into rays of light that clashed violently at the bottom floor, shaking the world below this airborne battle zone...

  ∞ ∞ ∞

At the summits of the battle zone, the chase was still in progress as the figures of Feng Yu, Kiria, Ulan, and the others left behind a long trail of lights which beamed through the airborne battlefield, moving through the hot zones filled with shockwaves and random stray energy attacks from different natives and fiends.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! Boom! Boom! Boom!

If one payed close attention from above, they would notice that the front most beam of blazing golden light was curving through the each of the various battles, skilfully moving around the narrow edges of beam multiple beams attacks while narrowly avoiding explosions.

The pursing beams of light upon meeting these concentrated attacks paused momentarily before curving and maneuvering a reasonable distance around thus slowing down and hindering their pursuit.

“’To avoid danger, one must embrace it...’ it seems this saying may hold true...” Feng Yu muttered while crouched on top of his Void Disk, his left arm was placed on the ground with his four index fingers places on a strange glowing rune while Black Lightning was held in a reverse grip; its handle placed between his thumb while his other hand was positioned at the side with Crimson Ember facing outwards.

“But, not in all cases...” He muttered once again as he looked behind him at the ever-nearing Kiria and Ulan who both skilfully made their way through the concentrated attacks and explosions of the native army and fiends.

“Sh*t! If I’m caught this will not end well, what should I do?” Feng Yu pondered as he continued to push more of his energies into the Void Disk causing it to move faster and faster through the chaotic battle zone.

“You damn bastard! Running like a mouse won’t save you for long, cause when I catch you...” Ulan cursed in an angry tone while not finishing his words filling any who heard with it a deep level of dread.

Kiria who was ahead of him paid him no mind as she started to chant in a strange tone, “♪♫♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫!”

A strange string of blue musical notes soon after wrapping her wings as they glowed in an odd light quickly bolstering her flying speed.

Swish! Quickly, she left Ulan behind in the dust as she rapidly caught up with Feng Yu in the distance.

“Chet! I won’t lose to you this time!” Ulan cursed as he also utilized a strange method causing his flying artifact to accelerate. Soon, they were both behind Feng Yu by only a few dozens of meters distance which was nothing when experts of their level wanted to attack.

“Damn!” Feng Yu thought as his face became unsightly, he realized that they had the ability to instantly get within reach from the very beginning, as they saw his expression, they both sneered as they swiftly acted.

“Haha! You’re mine!” Ulan said as he reached his palm out towards Feng Yu causing a stream of dark energy to form a massive hand to reach out to grab him.

“Nymph’s Lullaby....” Kiria said as she started to chant in a different tone, a soothing sound filling the area putting all those who were caught inside of its range to sleep.

Suddenly, Feng Yu began to feel a suction force trying to pull him towards the dark hand that was almost about to catch up with him. He lifted his head and roared pushing all of his thunderblaze energies to the max in an attempt to ward off the force, but as this happened, the sound of Kiria’s Lullaby soon reached his ears putting him in a drowsy mood dulling his responses.

“Hrm... his strength of will is astounding to be able to resist my lullaby at such a low cultivation level... a pity, his attempt to resist is futile...” Kirira said as she chanted even louder causing the effects of chant to double.

Feng Yu having already become dull to the previous chant could only curse one last time before he fell into a deep sleep, “D...a...m...n... i...t...” His energies faded, and battleform vanished as he was about to fall from floating Void Disk. As this happened, the pull from the dark hand behind him once again reigned supreme as it pulled his body along with the Void Disk towards its reach.

Kiria seeing this frowned as she looked towards Ulan who gazed at her with sly eyes before speaking, “Haha! Kiria, thanks for your help. Now that you’ve placed him to sleep, I can properly catch him, don’t worry I’ll make sure to mention your name when I go to receive the Palace Lords credit...”

Kiria hearing his words became furious, she was about to launch an attack towards Ulan, but before she could do anything, there was a new change.

The body of Feng Yu that was now finally caught by the Dark Hands jerked as a strange energy erupted from his being, or rather, from the rusty crimson sword placed within his right hand.

A terrifying, murderous intention rose from the sword as a
power seemingly capable of destroying all things spread outwards across all directions, reaching even beyond the cracks above the sky.

Soon, a voice that seemed to carry the most sinister of all wills resounded throughout the area. “You are weak...”

  Chapter 137

The Leaders Arrive! The True Battle Begins!

The world shook as the voice that spoke caused a strange kind of rumbling to fill the area, despite fighting within the sky each of the natives and fiendkin couldn’t help but cough out a bit of blood from their mouths as they looked towards the unconscious Feng Yu with a thick expression of shock on their faces.

Currently, Feng Yu’s body was floating in the void still within the grasp of the massive dark palm technique used by Ulan. His body, or rather, his unusual rusty crimson sword on his back glowing in an ominous purple light which caused the surrounding temperatures to rise by many degrees.

Eventually, the heat within the area reached a saturated point causing the air to grow blurry as clusters of purple flames formed around Feng Yu’s entire being spreading outwards at a rapid pace.

Bang! The dark hand that surrounded Feng Yu burst into flames, as all of the nearby elders swept across by the purple flames instantly turned into dust seizing to exist in both body and spirit.

Ulan, Kiria, and the other fiend elders looked at this scene in terror as they exclaimed, “Retreat quickly!”

  Swish! Swish! Swish!

Within moments, their bodies blurred as their flying artifacts propelled them as far away as possible from the range of the purple flames which continued to spread outwards burning all things in sight. Eventually, these flames had stopped spreading once they occupied a region for no more than 500 meters.

“What on earth is this? Whose aura is this, so profound, so dark, I have never felt anything more sinister even in my prime years of the distant past...” Ulan said in a shocked tone of voice as beads of sweat trickled down his forehead due to the immense heat in the region.
