Whhoooosh! The sound of something heavy descending from the heavens sounded, as the pressures from the wind pushing towards the distant ground. A massive hammerhead could now be seen falling at full force as it glowed mysteriously causing its runes to lit up, at the end of this hammer’s handle was a muscular dwarfin who swung it with all his might.

“Bright Hammer’s Descent!” Zyne shouted as his voice was rumbling throughout the void, the hammer falling seems to have become filled with a will of its own as it knew its task that should be done.

“Another meaningless attempt! Great Illi---” Andronamus was about to use a powerful technique, but sadly, he was disrupted by another individual, or better yet, being...

“Thorns of Nature...” A cool voice said...

  Swish! Swish! Swish!

Instantly, a series of thick vines, as well as thorns, formed from the void as they wrapped around Andronamus’s body. They wounded around him countless times creating a dense cluster which seemed as if it could bind all things, a poisonous mist forming around their edges as it seeped into his minor wounds filling him with a slight dizziness.

“Damn! You dare to injure me! Die!!!!” Andronamus who had gotten tired of the Gia Brambles last-minute meddling finally decided to finish her once and for all.

Bang! Instantly, the bindings broke to pieces as his fiendish energies once more shrouded his figure, his eyes glowing threateningly as he pointed his fork towards the Gia Bramble from a distance, “Great Illusion Trident!!!”

Phewww! Instantly, his fiendish energies created a massive black trident which quickly bolted through the void arriving before the now vulnerable Gia Bramble who had suffered a backlash from her technique's failure.

She quickly placed her palms before her and yelled, “Gia’s Protection!”

Rustle! Rustle! Rustle! The plants surrounding her body quickly expanding as they formed a barrier of vines that wrapped around her slender finger protecting her from every angle.

The moment this shield of vines and thorns formed around her body, the attack from Andronamus had finally arrived.

Bangggg! The trident pierced through the vines and thorn’s quickly arriving before the chest of the Gia Bramble, but before it could penetrate her flesh, Zyne’s attack had finally arrived.

Smash! The Bright Hammer violently smashing into Andronamus instantly hurling him towards the ground, as this happened, the energy trident which was about to pierce through the direct center of the Gia Bramble's chest became unsteady as instead of stabbing through her heart, it pierced through her shoulder pushing her away towards the distant ground.

Ka-Bang! The Bright Hammer that smashed Andronamus into the earth created a massive crater in this battlefield, clouds of dust rising to the air as the rumbling rocks falling into the pit sounded.

Swish! The figure of Zyne soon after appeared as the head of the hammer quickly shrunk at a rapid pace along with its elongated handle. After shrinking to a fairly decent size, Zyne once more positioned himself on top of the hammerhead as he looked towards the crater below him with a smile.

“Ha! Serves you right, letting your guard down against me...” As he said this, the figure of Demetria soon after appeared as she flew to his side with a slightly pale look on her face.

Swish! Not long after, the Gia Bramble who had only received a deep shoulder injury also appeared as she floated in the air like a leaf that is guided with the wind. Demetria seeing this injury quickly spoke in a soft voice, “Let me heal it...”

The usually silent Gai Bramble hearing this nodded her head as she kept her eyes focused on the crater below her, seeing her consent Demetria flew towards her and cast a water spell causing a stream of water to wrap around her injured shoulder.

If one looked closely, they would notice that although the injury was healing slowly, it was doing so at a visible pace.

Zyne finally wiped the sweat off his forehead as he saw these two appear by his side, his eyes still locked on the crater as he spoke, “Such a tough little bastard if we weren’t under this seal, I’d have given him a profound lesson. Hopefully, this will certainly teach him...”

“He’s not defeated; after all, he’s still at the level of a top-class fiend (Transcended Battle Power) ...” Demetria said with a serious look on her face, Zyne hearing this also frowned as he knew full well his current state was not enough to battle such a being.

Suddenly, the ground shook as a massive boom was heard.

Bang! The clusters of rocks that covered the crater blew to pieces as the now angry Andronamus floated from the ground, his forehead filled with veins due to his current anger as trickles of blood flowed down his sides. His eyes glowed fiendishly as he looked towards the trio from above with a ruthless gaze.

“I want you all to die!!!!!!” Andronamus yelled with a voice that seemed to have traveled from Hell, his energies instantly breaking past its limits causing the surroundings to fall in the disarray.

As this energy spread out far and wide, the space began to compress as if something was trying to crush all things within the region. Zyne, Demetria, and the Gia Bramble couldn’t help but clutch their fists as they struggled to withstand this pressure.

“Cough! Such talent, he certainly no ordinary junior, to momentarily arrive at the levels of an elite-level top-class fiend even while being so young...” Zyne muttered while wiping the blood from his mouth. He gripped the handle of his bright hammer ready to battle once more.

“Um. But in the end, he’s no more than a standard top-class. If he were an 'elder-level' or the 'arch-level,' our current selves would have been in trouble as it would have taken only the dragonized form of the Heiress to beat him...” Demetria said she couldn't help but look towards the distant form of Jing Mingyun who still gathering an endless stream of dragon force towards her fist. Her eyes flickering with countless lights as if calculating all things.

Zyne nodded as he heard these words, his eyes locked on the figure of Andronamus who was slowly approaching with boundless rage.

However, as Andronamus was about to use his neck attack, the eyes of Jing Mingyun finally had a change. The countless runes of information strung together before her, forming into an image of Andronamus who held his head while screaming in pain.

As she saw this scene, the corners of Jing Mingyun’s lips finally blossomed into a smile, her voice resounding throughout the void as she spoke, “You’ve lost...”

The angry Andronamus who heard her sudden words couldn’t help but feel at a loss, the fury in his eyes growing even more intense as he yelled, “You still try to mock me! You shall---”

He was about to attack with his entire power once more but soon discovered that he couldn’t move his limbs. As he realized this, his anger instantly faded as his eyes shrank to the size of needles with beads of sweat falling down his forehead as he asked in shock, “This is impossible! Who broke my dream realm?!!”

“Dream realm! Dream realm! Dream realm!” His voice echoing across this vast sky, pushing away the relentless rain for a few kilometers. However, before he could even grasp his bearings, a severe pain erupted from the core of his entire being, his soul seems to have received a significant injury.

Unable to bear the pain, Andronamus lifted his head and screamed, “Ahhhhhhhh!!!!”

“Now!!!” Jing Mingyun said as she flashed transforming into a beam of light which instantly crossed the void. The moment she arrived in front of Andronamus, she arched her body to the side pulling her fist even further back as terrifying energies began to spread out from her body.

Bang! This energy was the zenith of true power, filled with ancient prestige that implied pure dominance, as her energies were now at its peak Jing Mingyun struck her fist towards the body of Andronamus while yelling, “Dragonic Arts: Raging Dragon Fists!!”

“Roaaoorrrrrrrr!” Within moments, a shocking roar could be heard one that seeped into the very soul of all beings, following this roar was a semi-transparent shade of a gigantic white cre
ature’s claws, with scales that seemed to be harder than all forms of steel, as its nails gleamed with a sharpness no inferior to any divine swords.

Swoooosh! The claw struck towards the defenseless Andronamus with full power instantly smashing into his form with multiple consecutive strikes, each strike stronger than the last by double the strength.

Boooooom! After striking out for a few dozen of strikes, the landscape had changed entirely, as the scene behind the dragon’s attacks transformed into a view of endless ditches and gorges spreading outwards for far as one’s eyes could see.

The dragonic claw soon faded after as the body of Andronamus could be seen, falling from the air like a piece of paper, weightless and without substance...

He looked towards Jing Mingyun whose fist was still before her body with strands of white fogs flowing from its surface. As his eyes grew blurry, he coughed up a few mouthfuls of blood before he spoke in a defeated tone of voice, “It seems... that I’ve underestimated that boy... this battle is his... no, both of your... victories...”

His voice soon after fading away as his consciousness vanished; Zyne, Demetria, Jing Mingyun as well as the Gia Bramble seeing this couldn’t help but feel relieved, but before they could react a stream of red flames appeared around Andronamus body.

This flame was strange as it burnt his body out of existence leaving behind a dark voice which lingered in the air, “You’ve won this battle, but the forces of Hell’s 3rd ring will be sure to remember this defeat...”

As they heard this, they chose to remain silent as they knew that this would be the beginning of a new war in the future one with a prominent fiend race at the depths of hell. However, no one knew that the instant this voice vanished, a shadowy figure standing at a very far edge of this battlefield left in silence, his robust looking silhouette fading into darkness as only the lingering traces of words were left behind.

“How useless, as one would expect from spawn’s, chet! The shadow lord will not be pleased as the obstacles still remain. Still, there are gains after losses; maybe the conflict with one of Hell’s outer rings will lead to the desired results. As of now, I should focus on the destruction of that other threat...”

  Chapter 143

A Gloomy Day for the Dark Palace!

It has been a week since the dreadful war against the Dark Palace’s army, and the alliance members had spent the entirety of the time reorganizing their strengths as well as count their losses. This battle though victorious had not come cheaply, as the number of natives whose lives had been taken was in large digits, other than repairing of weapons and reorganizing, a significant portion of the time had also been used to soothe the souls of the fallen victims as well as planning out new battle strategies.

Within the Fairy Palace, inside of the palace grounds, the sound of metal hitting iron sounded throughout the palace as the members of the dwarfin race were busy with repairs and realignment of weapons and armors, a few fairies who wore magical equipment were even engraving strange runes on top of newly repaired gears.

The natives who were scattered around the palace grounds were discussing the proceedings of their previous battle, a few of them were even battling and resting within the wide-open courtyards filling the palace with a unique kind of atmosphere.

However, while this scene seemed as if it was a generally relaxing atmosphere, it was the complete opposite, for every single native was wearing newly repaired armors with their weapons in their hands as if they were ready to battle at a moment’s notice.

Within a familiar looking tower, standing on the edges of its balcony were two forms, a handsome red-haired young man along with a beautiful white-haired young female. They stood together side by side as they watched the scene below them with different expressions on their faces.

After a moment of silence, Feng Yu finally spoke, “Are you sure about this?” He asked in a tone filled with concern.

“Yes, it is so...” Jing Mingyun replied, a deep look in her eyes as she looked towards the horizon.

“There will be war in the future... one with those of your realm against those of another. The lord of Hell’s 3rd ring will not take the death of his disciple lightly, but like the heavens, Hell’s beings cannot truly descend into the lesser realms. Therefore, they can only use two means, the first being that of contractual summoning and the second being proxies. Summoned entities are capable of using a limited amount of strength based on the amount of offered sacrifices while proxies are capable of wielding the borrowed strength of superior beings making them nearly invisible existences to common warriors in each cultivation stages. Upon leaving this mystic realm, you will need to prepare for these being’s future movements...” the voice of Jing Mingyun said.

After saying this, the voice of Feng Yu could then be heard, “Me, then what about you?"

"......." Jing Mingyun hearing this paused for a moment before her eyes flickered as she replied, "I may not leave this realm... at least not for a little while..."

"Huh?" Feng Yu hearing this, became stunned as she was sent into a daze for a short while, he looked at her beautiful face and clenched his fists before speaking, "Is there a reason?"

"Um. It is my duty..." Jing Mingyun said in a profound voice as if it was an untold story. Feng Yu hearing this became silent as it wasn't the first time, he heard her say the words - her duty.

He shook his head and pushed that matter behind him before asking about in another manner, "You speak of heaven, and hell... are you referring to places with those actual names or those realms spoken of in legends...”

After hearing this, Jing Mingyun remained silent for a moment before opening her mouth to speak, “Yes, the heavens and hell of which I speak are the realms that exist beyond this space. My father had spoken of its complete details in the past saying that only lifeforms that have transcended the limits of a lesser space can ascend to those realms...”

Feng Yu hearing this became enlightened, he couldn’t help but reveal a slight look of yearning on his face as he thought to himself, “If that is the case, how strong would one have to be to escape a space’s limit...”

He thought about the topic for a reasonably short while before clearing it from his mind and focusing on the current issues, “These things are too far away... right now, I need to focus on the possible threat targeting us once we have left this realm as well as the successful competition of this Chosen’s One Mission...”

As he thought to hear, only now did he realize that Jing Mingyun had been staring at him in his dazed state with a smile on her face. The moment she saw him recover his state of mind she teased, “It seems you’re not worried about this danger...”

Feng Yu hearing this asked in surprise, “Why does Yun’er think that?”

“Well, I was expecting a more shocked reaction from your face, but the only thing I got was a calm expression...” Jing Mingyun replied with a curious look.

Feng Yu hearing this smiled and replied, “There’s really no point for one to fret over things that can't be controlled. I think the best thing to do is focus on the current affairs, as for the possible danger from Hell’s 3rd ring. I still have time to prepare; by the time they act I along with those around me would have most likely grown to a level where we wouldn't need to be too worried...”

As Jing Mingyun heard this, she nodded slightly as a smile formed on her face as she spoke, “Good! Confidence is a man’s best trait, keep this up and you may change my mind about eating early...”

Feng Yu hearing this again felt stunned, his face starting to sweat as he swallowed his spit, he removed his eyes from her face as it wandered across her body.

Jing Mingyun seeing this expression became a little red-faced, as even though she acted fully mature and knowledgeable in this field, she was still at the end of the day a maiden in both heart and body. Luckily for them, there was something to break this untimely mood.

“All members of the alliance gather at the central grounds! We will begin or march
against the Dark Palace!” The voice of Queen Demetria said as it resounded across the entire palace.

The patrolling and idling members of the alliance upon hearing these words started to make their way to the central grounds as crowds upon crowds of natives quickly began to move together.

As Feng Yu and Jing Mingyun both saw this scene, they both gave each other an awkward stare for a moment before moving towards the central grounds. Soon, their figures vanished behind doors as they walked towards the palace stairways.

After a bit of traveling, both Feng Yu and Jing Mingyun arrived at the very core of the central grounds, there were the already gathered figures of Zyne, Demetria, Myria, Leon, and the other leaders.

Oddly enough the figure of the previously humanoid Gia Brambles was no where to be seen amongst them. Feng Yu asked in puzzlement, “Where is the Gia Bramble?”

Myria hearing him replied, “She went back to the palace’s core as she had exhausted a large deal of her natural essences in her previous battles, now she can only rest to slowly recover…”

Feng Yu hearing this nodded his head in understanding before looking at the scene around him, quickly everyone was settled, and Queen Demetria finally made her way towards the podium to speak.

“Today marks a new day for our kin’s struggles in this ancient battlefield. We will march to put an end to each of our enemies finally bringing an end to those who have suppressed us for so many eons! Allies and Kinsmen alike! Are you ready to reclaim our glory?!!!” Demetria yelled with a mood filled with fighting spirit, appearance looking no different from a war goddess from the heavens.

“Uwaaaaaaa!” The alliance members roared as their morale instantly rose to their peak, their eyes glowing in a bloody light as if they were ready to unleash their many years of struggles in the coming battle.

Zyne seeing this smiled as he gripped his fists tightly, he thought to himself, “If only you were here...”
