While Ori was staring outside the door, I went to help Rosie, the housekeeper, Pepper the cook, and Gerard, the butler get up.

Ori was still looking outside when Kaz and Hunter returned to the lobby.

“No one’s hiding in this house,” Hunter said.

“So, Ori’s up,” Kaz said, eyeing Ori with what looked like jealousy. “You got a chance to escort Tempest to gym class and then to your house for the entire rest of the day. Horder,” Kaz said.

“I thought we would be sharing Tempest today,” Hunter said, circling me before he kissed me on the lips and pulled me into his arms.

Kaz came over to me and stared into my eyes with his blue azure eyes, which made me melt. His eyes instantly melted when he took my face in, seeing the bruise that had formed from being punched in the face. “My poor Tempest,” his voice soften, his full plump lips so close to mine. “I hear you like chocolate cake,” he said.

Right next to the doorway where he and Hunter had entered, was a bag from the bakery in Arcadia.

  “Sweetie,” Hunter kissed my brow.

Kaz kept looking at me with such love in his eyes. “Why didn’t you tell us?”

Ori finally closed the door, bolting it and locking it.

He came over and swept me up in his arms, carrying me through the lobby and into a room I haven’t seen before.

It was decorated like the bright happy pastel colors in my Airstream trailer. The walls had photos of San Francisco. There were chrome chairs with a nostalgic vintage 1950s bar. A ping pong table was in one corner, while a 1950s style jukebox was in another.

  There were balloons.

  The Beach Boys were playing.

“Happy Birthday!” Hunter and Ori said in unison.

“Happy Birthday, Tempest,” Kaz said, his eyes sweeping my face.

“Oh my!” I cried and laughed at the same time. “How did you know it was my birthday?”

Hunter waved his hands. “I have access to every student’s birthday.”

“You guys are so sweet!” I went around the room, admiring every single touch. “I could tell you put a lot of time and effort into creating this space.”

“Since you couldn’t go home very much. We wanted to bring you a touch of home while you’re here,” Ori said.

“Is that why you showed me your place today, Ori? To hint that everyone needed their own space?”

I noticed how Kaz looked over at Ori when I said that, and then back at me.

“No, I showed you my place to distract you from going back to Kaz’s place earlier,” Ori said. “I thought they needed more time to fix up the place.”

“Nope,” Hunter said. “Place was fixed up and ready to go a couple of days ago.”

“But you needed to get chocolate cake,” Ori said.

“Yes,” Kaz said with a glint in his eyes. “Tempest’s favorite, according to Hunter.”

“That took a while to find, but we think we found a winner,” Hunter said.

“Thank God, it took a while, otherwise, you’d bump into Creepface DeVille,” I said. I reached out to Kaz and kissed him on his lips as passionately as I could before breaking off. He almost fell back when I let go. “Thank you for all this. I love it, and I love you.”

His eyes smiled happily at me. “If you love it, then all this was worth it.”

I pulled Hunter to me and kissed him passionately. “Thank you for thinking about such details, Hunter. I know you found photos of my trailer in California and recreated it here. You’ve put so much thought into it, I do feel like I’m back in Cali. I love it so much! I love you.”

Hunter broke out into a huge grin. “Anything for you Babe.”

I turned to Ori, “I just know you were part of this too, and whatever part you played, I love it!” I pulled him to me and kissed him. “Ori, I love you.”

He brought up a finger to touch my face and said, “I can’t believe I get to share your special day with you.”

The doorbell sounded, and Kaz pushed a button. Rosie, Gerard, and Pepper walked in carrying trays of hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, and pizza.

“So this is why they’re here so late,” I said. The domestic servants usually went back down the mountain to their homes in Arcadia.

“We made what you American kids like to eat,” Pepper, the cook said. “Happy Birthday, Tempest!” Rosie gave me a hug. Pepper gave me a hug, and Gerard gave me a quick kiss on the cheeks and a hug.

“Please,” I said to them. “Take some. It’s too much food.”

They looked so surprised at me offering food, they shook their heads ‘no’.

“How about your families?” I said. “Take some home for them.”

I took three boxes and filled them with food and gave each of them food to take to their families.

In the end, after they left, I turned around to find Kaz, Hunter, and Ori looking at me in disbelief.

“You just gave away all our food,” Kaz said.

“There’s plenty still,” I laughed, taking a bag of French fries and scooping some out and putting it straight in my mouth.

“Don’t you eat it with a fork?” Kaz asked.

“Not in the States, Dude,” I said, handing him the bag.

“The way Tempest is eating it, it looks obscene,” Hunter said.

“The way Tempest eats anything, it’s obscene,” Ori said, raising his eyebrow.

I took a bite from a chili dog. “Oooh chili dog! Yum. I licked the front of the hot dog first before moving the hot dog and bun deeper into my mouth. All three pairs of male eyes were on me as I deep throated my chili dog.

I opened up my mouth and chomped down, happily licking the sauce off my lips.

Their eyes were as wide as saucers.

I gave Hunter a Cheeseburger, and Ori a slice of pizza. “Here, I love the fact these are homemade. Not from some fast-food takeout drive through.”

Turning on the screen, I chose a beach movie while happily taking a bite out of everything.

“Tempest came, saw, and ate her way through to the next destination,” Hunter said, smiling.

“You have no idea how much I miss ‘normal’ food,” I said. “Sooo delicious!”

The guys were smirking at each other as they watched me.

“We’ve never seen you so happy, Tempest,” Ori said.

Kaz pulled me onto his lap. “You’re adorable.” He kissed me, licking the sauce off my lips. “And delicious.”

Hunter sat next to Kaz who lowered me to rest my head on his lap. “We’re so glad you love your birthday surprise,” Hunter said.

“I love it all. I love you all,” I said, getting sleepy. “But I miss home. I miss my sister Lily.”

  I yawned.

Before long, I was out, but not completely.

The guys let out their breaths.

“Great idea about making this room, Kaz,” Hunter said. “Told you she’ll love it.”

Kaz laughed. “See how she was so happy?”

Hunter laughed. “Her happiness is contagious, isn’t it, Kaz?”

Ori chuckled. “She was definitely surprised. Didn’t even suspect.”

“I bet you enjoyed distracting her, Ori,” Kaz said.

“You know,” Ori said, “Just like Hunter did after you made a deal with Veronica.”

Hunter said, “Truth is, we’re all in love with her. Someday, she may have to choose who she wants to be with over the others. But right now, it seems she’s happy with each of us and all of us.”

Ori said, “As much as I get jealous with her being with either one of you, I’m also glad she does have you two as well as me. We function so well together.”

“What went down tonight, Ori?” Kaz asked. Why did you take her to your place? Did you know about an intruder?”

“You’d be so proud of Temp today. She not only convinced Sabrina to leave Q2 and Veronica, but she fought off a gang of girls who attacked her with baseball bats…”

“Whoa, baseball bats?” Kaz and Hunter
asked, the steel anger in their voice.

“Yes, but they didn’t get far with Temp. She annihilated them. Made me so proud she could take care of herself. She did the right thing, too. Called Turlington to get them rightfully removed from school. But she had injuries. The girls did surprised Temp, and she got hit hard a bunch of times so I took her to my place where I had underground fight club quick medical solutions.”

“Poor Temp,” Hunter said. “She can’t help being born a non-royal. Just like we can’t help being born a royal. Only her birthright makes her vulnerable.”

“We need to protect her better,” Kaz said. “I know it isn’t your fault you couldn’t be in the girl’s locker room with her, but did you even sense their attack?”

“No,” Ori said. “Someone distracted me during Gym class, I didn’t even know.”

“Hunter, is your plan with your band meeting and getting to know the student body to weed out the bad seed working?”

“Here’s the list,” Hunter said. “We can each take one part and work on the student body. As the K3, we need to regain our student body’s trust and loyalty again. Not lose them to a lunatic like Veronica.”

“She’s still a problem,” Kaz said. “She’s returning soon. More focused on destroying us and Temp.”

“She won’t have the help of the student body, though. Nor Sabrina. Nor the DeVilles.” Ori said. “Temp destroyed Holly DeVille in the locker room attack. Turns out Holly is a He-lly.”

“I’m going to throw up,” Kaz said. “Before Temp, Holly tried to throw herself on me, but I wasn’t interested. Now after Temp, I’m not interested in anyone else.”

“Your parents. My parents,” Hunter said.

“Like I said, I wouldn’t care what my father and his new wife, my stepmother, thinks,” Ori said.

“Wow brave, Ori,” Kaz said. “Hunter and I meantime has a lot of decisions to make. Life-changing ones that may or may not include Temp.”

“Just don’t hurt her,” Ori said. “If you do, I won’t forgive you.”

  Chapter 11

The next morning, I woke up with my head on Hunter’s lap. He had fallen asleep sitting up on the long sectional sofa in my California Dreaming room the boys built and created for me.

“Rise and shine!” Ori and Kaz came into the room, rolling a pink hardside luggage. Ori was dressed in an all white tracksuit and designer sneakers. Kaz was dressed in a black suit, impeccably including a pink and black diamond tie.

“You guys look like you’ve just came out of a fashion magazine like Vogue Men,” I said.

  “Where’s our birthday girl?”

  Hunter raised my drooping hand.

“We’re going on a trip, Tempest.”

  “We are?”

  “Spring Break!”

“Won’t you go home to your countries?” I asked.

“No, we want to spend Spring Break together,” Hunter said. “With you.”

Kaz handed me an envelope. “This is a birthday gift to us.”

I opened the envelope and took out an airline ticket. “To San Francisco!”

I jumped up and grabbed each of my boys, kissing and hugging them.

“Told you, it was worth surprising her,” Hunter told Kaz.

  “Yes, so worth it…”

“Your clothes are all packed, Tempest. You just need to bring your gorgeous sexy self,” Hunter told me. “But let’s go to your room and find you something to wear on the plane. We’re going first class so dress classy.

While Hunter emerged dressed fashionably in a white pinstripe suit, I wore a comfortable navy shorts suit made of stretchy fabric and comfortable gold leather sneaker slip-ons.

We walked out to the lawn area where a helicopter awaited us. We board the helicopter and took off.

I’ve never seen a more beautiful school setting than Kingsbury Prep. Nestled amongst trees, the mountains, and the ocean on an island, it was the beautiful combination of history, resort, nature, and tranquility.

The beauty of the school itself and its idyllic setting made it an attractive locale for an internationally-minded and security-minded monarch family.

We flew over crystal blue ocean. Over an expanse of water, where we would occasionally see dolphins playing in the groups or large whales and even schools of silver fish that shined under the water like stars in an underwater sky.

Flying over smaller islands with lush green jungles, I caught a glimpse of monkeys jumping from tree to tree.

Sitting to my left, Kaz pointed out a flock of colorful birds to settling down on top of trees.

Ori was taking photos and snapped a selfie of all of us waving into the camera.

Hunter, who was sitting up front next to the pilot turned to us and pointed to a large mass of land coming up in the horizon. He gestured for me to turn on my headset.

Kaz helped with that, and soon I was tuned into a conversation with everyone.

“We’re landing in about half an hour,” Hunter said. “We can stretch out our legs, get something to eat…although our private jet is already equipped with meals.”

  “We’re taking a private jet?” I asked.

Kaz nodded like it wasn’t a huge deal. “Yes, I have it stored here instead of Kingsbury. The jet is a bit larger than the hangars at Kingsbury so they’ve got a special hangar for it here.”

Ori piped in, “Tempest, we’ve got about an hour before boarding the jet. This island has some amazing views if you want to go take a look.”

I looked at Kaz and Hunter. “Who’s going?”

“I have to handle a few things, Tempest,” Kaz said. “But the other guys can go with you.”

“Yes!” Hunter said. “I’d love to show our lady around.”

When the helicopter landed, Hunter was the first one off the helicopter. Then Kaz, Ori, and me. I turned to the pilot and said, “That was so awesome! I’d love to learn how to pilot one of these someday.”

The pilot grinned and said, “Next time you have free time from school, I can teach you.”

“Wow, that’ll be great! I’ve always wanted to learn.”

He laughed and pointed to Kaz, who was watching us with hawk eyes. “Just clear it with Kaz first. He’s my boss and the Crown Prince.”

“I will. Sorry to get you in trouble. I’ll talk to him to clear up anything. Thanks,” I said and walked away.

Kaz came to my side, took my hand in his, and said, “What were you two talking about?”

“I want to learn how to fly a helicopter, and he said he could teach me.”

“You do, do you?” Kaz asked. “Hunter, Ori, and I all have pilot licenses, airplane and helicopter. We can teach you, Tempest.”

  “Why didn’t you tell me?”

Kaz pulled me close, looked me in the eyes, and kissed me. “I didn’t want to seem like we were bragging or showing off.”

“Kaz,” I kissed him back. “I’m so touched with how you’ve changed. You care about other people’s feelings, and seem more human instead of a figure.”

“Is this how I came across?” Kaz asked, gently touching my cheeks. “Because Tempest, I want to be the kind of man who is worthy of you.”

“Hey Tempest,” Hunter called over to me, “Still want to see some sites?”

I looked at Kaz. “You really can’t join us?”

“I’d like to take you around, Tempest. After all, this island is part of my kingdom, too. So were all the ones we flew over just now. I’d like to show you everything I will one day have to rule and take care of. It’s a daunting task to think about having to make decisions and manage the lands, people, resources, politics of everything you see around you…one day. That would be my world, Tempest.” He kissed me sweetly at first and then more passionately. “But all I want to do is be with you, live life with you.”

He searched my face, seeing how I would respond.

“I know this is a lot of responsibility for you, for anyone, but Kaz, out of everyone I know, you are the most capable, most bri
lliant, and most natural leader who can handle all of this, plus be with a woman you love, in stride.”

  “You believe in me, Tempest?”

“Yes,” I said. “I do. I believe you would be a strong, smart, compassionate, fair, and benevolent king one day.”

Kaz squeezed my hand and leaned in to kiss me. “Thank you, Tempest. I so needed to hear this. Especially from the woman I love so much.”

“What’s going on, Kaz?” I asked. “Why all the doubts?”

“I wanted to hide it from you, but my status as the heir to the throne is being challenged. My older half-brother Richard has made it known he thinks I’m incapable, and that he would be the better choice as heir to the our father’s throne.”

“You can fight him,” I said. “Get back your claim. Show everyone you’re the better choice.”

“Yes, I know, Tempest, but it will come with some huge sacrifices.” He didn’t want to look me in my eyes. His huge sacrifice would be me. He would have to give me up and leave me behind.

Without him telling me, I realized what I had to do. I was noble, wasn’t I? That nobility came from my ancestry. Probably the reason why none of us ever became a royal. Noble to a fault, damn it.

“Well, Kaz, you really have to do what makes you happy. And what you think is your true purpose in life. From everything I see and know about you, you can do anything you set your heart on. And as someone who is supposedly related to a Kingmaker, I do see you as King. King Kaz.”

I gently remove his hands from mine and walked towards Hunter and Ori, who were waiting for me. They held their hands out to me, and I reached out to take both, one in each of mine. Together, we three headed out to see the beautiful sites of Kaz’s island. Without Kaz.

  Chapter 12

After the most luxurious airplane ride I have ever had, on Kaz’s private jet, we landed in San Francisco.

I couldn’t even tell how long the flight was because the guys, my guys kept me entertained and busy the entire way. Our libidos were especially high along with the sky.

Kaz, especially, spent most of the flight, showing me how much he loved me, in a separate private bedroom he had onboard.
