“I have a feeling we will stick out like a sore thumb.”

They both had night vision goggles on, two guns fully loaded, and someone in their ear to tell them where a man was standing. As they made their way onto the property, one thing became clear; it was too quiet. There were two vehicles in the driveway and only a handful of lights on in the home.

Ricky caught a glimpse of white on the front door. As he got closer, he could tell it was a note. He ripped it off to read it, Surprise, no one is home today. We look forward to seeing you soon. Erickson is waiting.

“Fuck.” He handed the note to Miles. “I knew this was too easy.”

  Twenty-Seven

“Come on, puppy, beg,” Ella held a tray of food in front of Erickson. “It’s more fun when you beg.”

“I’m not hungry,” Erickson said, resting his head back against the wall. His legs were bound by a rope, so he couldn’t move around the room

“Not hungry? But, puppy, you haven’t eaten in two days.” She straddled his legs. “I need you to keep up your strength for our games.” She brushed her fingers down the side of his face. “Are you hungry for something else?”

  “No.”

“Oh, I bet you are.” She pushed her body up and down. “What’s that I feel? I think someone is lying to me.” Ella reached behind her to rub her hand up and down his erection. “Do you know how much I hate liars?”

  Erickson just closed his eyes.

“Open your eyes. I don’t like to be ignored when I’m speaking.” She leaned in and kissed him. He didn’t respond to her touch. “I want to be kissed,” she whined.

He sighed and kissed her back.

Ella knew he didn’t want to be there, but she didn’t care. Having a playmate was fun and more fun when the other played hard to get.

She slid off her button-down top and unhooked her bra. “I have a new game to play today.”

  “Oh, goodie.”

She slapped him across the face. “Don’t be rude.” She grabbed his hands and forced him to touch her breast. “What do you think about having your legs and arms tied up at the same time?”

  “I haven’t thought about it.”

She squeezed his balls and he cried out. “Oh, I like that sound. I said to stop being rude. Maybe you will catch on after you’re tied-up for several hours.” Ella pulled her gun out of her holster, and pointed it at Erickson’s head. “Lie down, puppy.” He put his hands up in surrender and lay down. “Good, puppy. You get a treat for that, but first let’s get you all tied up.” She patted his chest. “Hands.” Erickson stretched them above his head, and Ella tied the rope snuggly around each wrist. When she attached them to a hook and pulled, he grunted. “Oh, you like that.” She bent down and kissed him. “I promise, it gets better.”

  “I can’t wait.”

She squealed with delight. “I knew you would come around. Okay, feet next.” Then she rubbed the barrel of the gun along his chest, over his erection, and down the inside of his legs. “Should we keep your legs spread or do you want them together?”

  “I have a choice?”

“Yeah, true, you don’t deserve options.” Ella rubbed her hand over him, and he moaned. “Spread. Then I can play with all of you.”

She tightened the rope on one of his ankles, but right before she could secure his leg in place, her body fell forward. “What the fuck?” Erickson had looped his leg around her neck and brought her down. She shot off the gun, and it narrowly missed his groin. “For that, you will stay tied up for longer than a few hours. Puppies need to understand discipline.” She pointed her gun at his crotch and hooked his one foot in place. Then she quickly tied up his other foot. “Now, I need to think of a new game since you were extra naughty today.” She reached for a lighter. “Oh, I know. Let’s play with my candles.”

  Twenty-Eight

“Why are you back here?” Vikki asked, sitting down next to Ricky.

“We need to find all of Giano’s places of residence,” Ricky said, wrapping his arm around her waist. “You doing okay?”

“Yeah, I guess. We all were daydreaming about our jobs, The Flying Monkey bar, you know, normal stuff.”

“Yeah, somehow normal was taken from each one of us.”

  “Think Erickson is okay?”

“No, I really don’t.” Ricky kissed her temple and stood up. “Miles told me what happened to Zia and Cris. If we have them pissed off, which I think we do, I can only imagine the shit they’re doing to Erickson.”

Miles walked into the room. “Erickson has not been on the force long. I really don’t know if he can handle it.”

“Well, if you knew his past,” Cooper said, grabbing a chair and sitting down. “He’s stronger than you all realize.”

“Should I ask what happened in his past?” Ricky asked.

Cooper paused before continuing. “He was abused by a neighbor. She cared for him when his parents were at work.”

“How did they find out it was happening?” Miles asked, sitting down next to Preslie.

  “I’m not sure,” Cooper said.

Ricky noticed how the room was silent. They were having a conversation with everyone who had been hurt by Giano. He noticed Cris recoil at the words abused. This all should’ve been discussed in private, but they all had details that could help find Erickson and bring him back safely.

“Johnny, can you think of a place where Giano would go to hide out?” Cooper asked, turning in his chair.

“We went stateside a couple times, and we took a trip to Italy once. He let me travel with him not long after he brought me on as an associate,” Johnny said, sitting down opposite Cooper. “You think he left Canada?”

  “Yeah, I do.” Cooper nodded.

“We’ve contacted the American authorities, and they are still searching his properties there,” Ricky said, reaching for his phone. “I’m waiting to hear the word. He had four places in the states that we know of that need to be inspected.” He looked over at Cooper. “Are we heading back stateside?”

“You and Miles are,” Cooper said. “You’ll be working with an agent stationed there.”

“Sounds like fun,” Ricky said sarcastically. “Johnny, can you remember anything special about the homes in the U.S.?”

“He has hidden compartments, doors, and secret passageways. His homes are usually hidden by a twelve-foot brick wall and sit on several thousand acres of land.”

“Well, we should be able to narrow that down some.” Ricky hit reply on his phone. “Looks like two of the homes came up empty. We’ll head out and help with searching the other places now.”

Cooper stood up and headed to the door. “I would like to say, get a good night sleep before you leave. Unfortunately, I have to ask you to leave now.”

“I don’t think I will be able to sleep until Erickson is home safe,” Miles said, standing up and following behind Cooper. “You ready, Ricky?”

“Finley okay with staying back?” Ricky asked, sitting down in the plush seat. Cooper had set up for them to use the private plane. He set his duffel bag on the seat next to him.

“Yeah, he told me they moved to a new city every two days,” Miles said, sitting opposite him.

  “Shit. They must be exhausted.”

“Cristiano was starting to really struggle with that way of life.”

“I can imagine. How old is the kid?”

  “Thirteen going on thirty.”

“We need to finish this and soon. They need to get back to a normal life.”

“I don’t think any of us will ever experience normal again.”

“Do you think Letizia will go back to St. Cloud and run her bakery?”

Miles nodded to the flight attendant who set down a drink. “I wonder about that, too. I can’t see Finley ever leaving the force, though.”

“Yeah, he does feel like a lifer.”

  “Aren’t we all?”

Ricky’s eyebrows shot up. “I was or so I thought.”

  “Then
you saw the light.”

“This whole situation has made me miss the cop life.”

“Really?” Miles reached for a file in his bag.

“Yeah, I have been thinking about asking for my old job back.” Ricky shrugged. “If Cooper will have me.”

“With all you have done with this case, I bet Cooper would throw you a welcome back party.”

He burst out laughing. “I’ll pass on a party, unless they are serving chocolate cake.”

  “Would there be anything else?”

They continued to talk about the Emergency Task Force and Ricky’s future. He knew this life was not ideal, but there was something about it that gave him a rush every time. The thought of working as a cop again made him nervous and excited. He wondered how Vikki would be about his decision. She seemed comfortable with cops, but would she want to be a part of the cop world?

The young flight attendant leaned on his seat. “We’ll be landing soon, sir. Could you please fasten your seatbelt?”

“You ready to finally bring Giano home?”

“Can we choose body bag or handcuffs?”

“Body bag is preferred,” Miles teased, “but I think Cooper wants us to bring him in alive.”

“Make him suffer the way we all suffered.”

  “Exactly.”

The plane was set to land on a military airbase outside of Denver, Colorado. When the plane was starting to make the descent, it hit a large amount of turbulence. The pilot had to make the split-second decision to land at the Denver airport instead. Cooper had set it up to have a service car take them to the hotel first and drop off their stuff. Since they were not at the military base, Miles let Cooper know they would grab a cab to the hotel.

They didn’t have time to relax once they got to their room because an undercover officer was waiting to take them to Giano’s house.

Ricky thought about the homes Giano owned. Each one of the properties were at least four stories high and had at minimum, twenty rooms. The place they were heading to was the last one that had not been inspected. Cooper told the authorities Miles and Ricky would come help run through each place with them.

Before they left Toronto, Johnny mentioned the home in Denver was supposed to be top secret. After looking at an aerial view of the property, it was hard to see the home with all the trees surrounding the place. The local cops had circled around the property several times and were now just doing a drive-by about every thirty minutes.

Ricky grabbed the night-vision goggles from his bag. “We don’t split up. I think we need to help each other with how huge this place is.”

“I agree,” Miles said, placing a few magazines in his pockets, ready and loaded with bullets.

  “If Erickson is still alive.”

“He will be. I can’t think any other way.”

“Right. When we find Erickson alive, we need to be ready to possibly have him airlifted out.”

Miles nodded. “Cris was bad when we found him. Letizia later told us they had used the waterboard technique on her. With how pissed Giano is, I can only imagine Erickson’s wounds will be much deeper.”

  Twenty-Nine

“Oh, my God. Yes, yes, yes.” Ella’s head fell back as she continued to move up and down. “Puppy, I didn’t think you could possibly be better than Ricky, but you proved me wrong.”

Erickson’s eyes were closed. “Better than Ricky?”

“Oh, are you jealous?” She started to move fast again. “That thought alone makes me aroused.”

Ella left Erickson tied up on the bed with his legs spread. She spent the night riding his body and forcing him to get hard for her own sick pleasure. When he couldn’t get hard, she gave him a happy pill to take care of that problem.

“Do you ever take a break?” Erickson mumbled.

“Break? Why would I do that? This is too much fun.”

There was a knock at her door. “Ella, sweetie, you busy?”

“Daddy, you know I am,” she whined.

“I just need to talk to you for a moment, baby.”

  She huffed. “Hold on.”

Ella leaned back and rolled off the bed. She grabbed her robe and threw it over her shoulders. “Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon.”

Erickson still had an obvious erection, his body was covered in sweat, and he was breathing heavily. “I can’t wait.”

She giggled and walked into the next room to open the door. “Hi, Daddy.”

“Hey, sweetie. I know you’re busy, but we may need to leave soon.”

“Daddy.” She let out a heavy sigh.

“How much time do you need?”

“I don’t know. These things take time,” she whined and tightened her robe around her waist. She turned and walked over to the chair in the corner of the room and flopped down on the cushion. “If you need to go, we’ll be fine.”

“You know I don’t like leaving you.”

“I’m a big girl,” she teased, getting up to walk over to Giano. She placed her hands on his chest. “I need him to talk, but he is just sitting there.”

He leaned forward and kissed her forehead. “Be careful, sweetheart.”

  “I will, Daddy.”

She closed and locked the door. Then she turned, untied her robe, and walked back into the bedroom. “Okay, where were we?”

“You were about to untie me,” Erickson said, sighing.

“Oh, puppy, you’re adorable.” She climbed up onto the bed and straddled his legs.

  “Why this game?” Erickson asked.

She giggled. “Because we’re having fun.”

  “You’re having fun.”

She slapped him. “What did I say about being rude?”

“I don’t care anymore. You capture me and just have sex with me. How is this getting what you want?”

“Daddy wants Letizia. Think we can do an exchange?”

“No.” Erickson laughed. “They won’t work with you, not after all that you have done.”

She placed her hand over her chest. “I didn’t do anything.”

“You had five men attack Vikki.”

“Well, Daddy just wanted me to send a message to Letizia.”

Erickson scowled. “What kind of message? That if you don’t listen, we’ll rape one of your friends.”

“Rape. They never touched her like that. They did get a little rough, and I already reprimanded them.”

  “I’m sure they enjoyed that.”

She gave a devious grin. “Oh they did. They all did.”

Ella had tied Erickson’s wrists together and placed them on a hook. While she was in the other room, he managed to pull them off the hook and loosen the rope. When she came back in the room, he just carefully placed them over the hook.

It was the first time he was left alone. She had managed to abuse him sexually for close to twenty-four hours. When Ella needed a break, she snuggled up next to his body and fell asleep. He’d had no opportunity to try to free himself from the confines of the ropes. Until now.

He had to plan his escape.

  Which would take some time.

  Thirty

“You ready?” Ricky said, handing Miles binoculars. He had a gun slung over his shoulder and was holding his hand gun out in front of his body. There were several extra magazines full of bullets attached to his belt and a few in his pockets.

“Let’s do this.” Miles took a moment to scan the property. “There are four men to the left of me about fifty feet from where we need to go. If we stay low and close to the house, we should be able to keep out of sight.”

“Which we both know is wishful thinking.”

  “In our world, pretty much.”

They’d worked with the local law enforcement team and agreed on the best plan of action. Miles and Ricky had devised a plan to go through the service entry from what they found on the floor plans the police station was able to pull up. After entering the service entry, the chances of running into a worker was high, so they agreed to just kno
ck them out quietly.

Ricky stayed low and made his way forward. He held his arm up with his hand in a fist as the stop signal. That signal was to let them know they needed to stay out of sight because someone was approaching. A few seconds later, he opened his fist, and they all continued their path toward the house.

At the service entry door, Ricky removed his night vision goggles and placed them in the bag he had slung over his other shoulder. “There.” He pointed to a woman walking with a bouquet of flowers. They stayed back until the woman was out of sight. “The plans said there are four floors, not including this one, and a basement. Want to start making our way upstairs first?”

“Yeah, let’s start at the top and make our way down,” Miles agreed, taking the lead.

Ricky stayed close to Miles and carefully checked around each corner. He knew taking the first flight of stairs was going to put them out in the open and make them the perfect target. Before they entered the house, they’d agreed if it became heated, the rest of the agents would enter immediately. For now, they all agreed having less people trekking around the place would look less suspicious.

As they made their way up the first flight of stairs, Ricky heard a scream. He stopped and took a double-take of the area and then continued up the stairs. Then it happened again. This time it wasn’t a scream, it was a moan. His mind went to the other night with Vikki and how beautiful her cries sounded.

Miles glanced back. “I hope we don’t interrupt anyone.”

“This dangerous mission could go to awkward in a flash.”

Once they reached the top step, Ricky heard a door opening. He tapped Miles on the back, and they stepped into the shadow. The moment the man came into view, Ricky inaudibly gasped. It was Dego. Then three more men stepped out of the room and headed down the stairs. Each one of the men had a gun slung over their shoulder and seemed pissed off.

When it was safe, Ricky whispered, “Think we missed something good?”
