Then the energy exploded and familiar smells surrounded them, familiar sounds, orbs of light rushing toward her ... the rustle of leaves, and a burst of light … and they were back in the forest.

Calypso lay on the ground that was so achingly familiar to her and tried to catch her breath. She reached out for Taran and lay a hand on him. He moved … and moaned a bit. It was not a soft landing, but it was one helluva ride.

Taran opened his eyes and smiled at her. “That was great, but I was thinking perhaps Greece on our next trip.”

He drew her onto his chest. She could hear his heart pumping, the adrenaline still high. They looked at each other, aware of what they’d just experienced.

Taran broke the silence. “That was a close call.” He began to laugh. “Hard to top that for an interesting night out.”

“We can certainly try.” Calypso laughed too, as absolute relief flooded her.

“Dinner and a movie won’t cut it after that. Not very exciting.”

  “Sounds just perfect to me.”

“Cal, baby, next time you need to release the past, how about you just do what other chicks do … you know, talk about it over coffee with friends, or take a workshop, or something.”

Calypso began to laugh. “I will, Taran. I promise I will.”

Their clothes were scattered around the glen floor. Taran scrambled for his and tossed hers at her. “C’mon, the others are back at the cottage.”

  Calypso looked confused. “What others?”

“Nell, Simon, Megan.” He buttoned up his jeans and pulled Calypso to standing. “Simon flew us down here. Cool little plane.”

“Oh Taran, I ruined your opening night.”

“You have the rest of your life to make up for it.” Taran smiled at her. “So let’s get on with it.”

Calypso hesitated for a moment, but Taran gave her hand a yank and they moved forward, one step at a time, the forest orbs lighting their way.

  Acknowledgements

This book has been a long time coming, and there are a lot of people to thank. Unfortunately the ones below are the only ones I have remembered.

To Chicky Linzbichler: This book started with you. I appreciate your years of unwavering support. I am lucky to have you in my life.

I thank Joel Naoum and the crew at Momentum for helping me dust this one off. It means a lot to me.

Thanks to Rosemary Serluca, Ken Atchity, and Chi-Li Wong. Also to Mike Kuciak, not only for the years of support, but the recipe for the Mike Tai.

A heartfelt hug to Samantha Beeston, who came up with the name, Trouble Brewing, and Tony Beeston, who was plying us with wine when it happened.

Thanks to Warren Gibson who must surely be over the mileage. To Ulrike Sturm and Markham Lane. Also to Alison Nancye, who shares International Release of Fabulous Books Day with me.

Many thanks to my gorgeous stepsons, Oscar and Tadhg for putting up with a stepmum who would rather write than cook, and for both embracing dunno pasta, dunno pizza and dunno pie. You rock!

And to my darling boys, my world, Indy and Raffy: I regularly drift off mid-sentence (because I’ve just thought of a new storyline) and I often forget to feed you (because I’m writing), but somehow you’ve turned out to be wonderful young men anyway. I love you both.

Finally, my guy, Dominique Sweeney. Thank you for the love and support, the way you threw yourself into critiquing this book, and the enthusiasm you had for the characters. Now that’s romance.

  About Forecast

The Shakespeare women were what the locals of Greenwich Village called “gifted.”

They did tarot readings and cast spells from their infamous shop Second Site. And each morning, Rowie would perform her popular weather prediction on the pavement outside.

Sure, Rowie’s predictions were helpful for forecasting the weather, but when it came to love, her abilities were more like a curse. Why bother dating a guy if you knew at the first kiss he was destined for someone else? And how would she ever meet anyone while she was stuck working at the family shop?

Rowie was resigned to never finding love. Until Drew Henderson, New York’s hottest weatherman is injured and the network decides to replace him with a gimmick—the Psychic Weatherwoman.

The very scientific Drew is furious. The witch might light up the TV screen. But how dare the network make a mockery of meteorology.

Now Rowie’s overbearing grandmother Gwendolyn won’t talk to her. Sixteen generations of Shakespeare women have worked in the family business. How dare she make a mockery of her gift.

But Rowie loves her new job, and won’t let anyone ruin it. Until the day Drew Henderson kisses her, and she can’t predict his future. In fact she can’t predict anything.

Forecast is the first book in the Shakespeare Sisters series. For more information please visit momentumbooks.com.au/books/trouble-brewing/.

  About Hamlet’s Ghost

Rhiannon Dee, a gorgeous witch, moves to a country town to reopen a theater and finds herself torn between the man who owns it, and his father who haunts it.

Kip Daniels has been haunting the Hamlet Majestic for thirty dull years, ever since the stage roof collapsed on him during what was meant to be his piece de resistance: his performance of Hamlet. All he really wants is to get to the end of the play, but that won't happen while the theater stands abandoned and boarded up. He’s resigned himself to an endless limbo ... until Rhiannon Dee moves to town to bring the theater back to life.

Rhi has fled a failed life in New York. She can’t find work as an actress. She’s overshadowed by her mother who has a hit TV show about witchcraft. Rhi is sick of being seen as a witch and intends to turn her back on the craft. But she quickly discovers she can’t escape her gifts, especially when she needs to use them to help one very sexy but sad ghost cross over. Surrounded by new friends and supportive townsfolk, Rhi breathes new life into the Hamlet Majestic, and helps Kip accept his death.

Hamlet’s Ghost is a story about those moments in life that define us, and how to truly move forward we must find peace with the past.
