The Perfect Plan

That was a change that Libby was looking forward to. They’d managed to make it work while he lived in Portland, but it was getting harder and harder to say goodbye when they parted.
Evan opened the passenger door and sat down in the car. He rubbed his shaking hands against his legs and looked at Libby.
“Is something wrong?” Libby asked.
“No,” Evan croaked.
Libby frowned then turned back to look around the car some more.
That was when she saw it: a small, velvet box sitting in the cupholder. She reached for it with shaky hands.
“Evan. What’s this?”
Evan looked like he was going to pass out.
Libby flipped open the box to find a princess cut diamond ring inside.
“I didn’t want you to feel like a call girl since I bought you the car. I thought you might feel better about it if we were getting married.”
Libby raised her eyebrows at him. “Is that the only reason you’re proposing?”
Evan nodded. “That and the fact that I love you more than anyone else on this earth, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, warning you about surprises six months in advance.”
Libby smiled so big she thought her lips might be touching her ears.
“So, what do you say?”
Libby pulled the ring from the box and slipped it on her finger. The perfect fit. She clambered across the middle console and sat on his lap before she kissed him.
“I say yes.”
The End
Acknowledgments
Thank you to everyone who has laid their eyes on this book.
Beta readers, critique partners, editors, ARC readers, and YOU readers. I was a hot, blubbering mess as I prepared to publish this book. Not only because it’s something I’ve spent so much time creating and falling in love with the different characters, but it feels like I’m sending my babies (characters) into the world on their own now.
It’s scary huge for me.
So, thank you, thank you, thank you, for taking the time to read.
Love,
Carina

KYLIE
He started our war–I intend to finish it.
Buying a house in the suburbs was supposed to be low stress—my own little haven to decorate and landscape exactly how I want. Instead, I find myself locking my garbage can to keep pests out–pests that are six-foot-one, green-eyed, and far too good-looking.
My trespassing neighbor is rude and entitled. It isn't long before war is declared, and I find myself stooping to immature pranks.
When trouble lands at my door, my unlikely neighbor starts knocking on my heart. Am I ready to answer?
HAGEN
I will win no matter what it takes.
I moved to this neighborhood for a fresh start. The one thing I'm not looking for is a relationship. So, when I mistakenly assume my neighbor is hitting on me, I lash out at her.
I didn't mean to start the war, but now she taunts me from across the street. Our harmless pranks have become the highlight of my day. I should stay away–but I can't. I want to spend more time with her.
When a stalker begins sending Kylie a series of notes, I'm only too willing to help protect her.
Maybe I'm looking for a relationship, after all.
