Becoming her Salvation (Zanetti Famiglia Book 7)

by Hayley Faiman

We don’t go straight home. It seems like Salvatore has other plans. “Walk with me?” he asks.

Frowning, I nod, slipping my hand in his and together we walk down the city sidewalk. We walk past a few office buildings and I glance at myself and almost have to do a double take. I’ve forgotten about my outfit and how silly I felt earlier this morning in it.

I no longer feel silly. I feel like me. Maybe there is something to it when people say that you either wear the clothes or the clothes wear you. This morning I felt like the clothes were no doubt wearing me, but I don’t feel like that any longer. I feel comfortable.

“This is it,” Salvatore calls out as he reaches for the handle of a door.

Frowning, I look up, but I don’t see a sign with the store’s name anywhere. I have no clue where we are at all. Slipping inside, I stop in the entryway and just stare—everywhere.

It’s a baby store. It’s not just any baby store either. It’s the baby store. There is furniture and bedding everywhere. It’s at least triple the size of the first store he took me to what feels like a lifetime ago but was only a few weeks ago.

“Pick whatever you want, bambola,” Salvatore whispers.

Turning to him, my eyes widen. “We don’t even know what we’re having,” I breathe.

His lips twitch into a smile and he shrugs a shoulder. “Neutral crib, you can pick the bedding later?”

He’s right. I could do just that, and I should. “Maybe we can just look around?” I ask.

  He chuckles. “Yes, let’s.”

That’s what we do. Salvatore is so patient while I look at everything. As I oohh and aahh over every single piece of bedding and every luxurious crib. Then about an hour into the shop, in the back corner, away from everything else, I see it.

The crib isn’t as over the top and fancy as some of the others in the store. It’s simple and classic. It is made from deep rich brown stained birchwood and has slats all the way around.

There aren’t any carvings in it or anything like that, it is just modern, simple, and classy. It looks exactly like the rest of Salvatore’s house.

Lifting my hand, I place my fingers against the edge and slide my hand across the smooth wood. Salvatore wraps one of his hands around my waist then places his other next to mine on the crib.

Looking over at him, I blink and he’s smiling. “Is this the one?”

  “It’s gorgeous,” I breathe.

He nods his head once. “Perfect for a boy or a girl. I really like it. Simplistic and sturdy. Nice,” he says.

Licking my lips, I tilt my head back a bit farther. He is smiling down at me and chuckles. “The rest of the furniture too?” he asks.

My body jerks and I look around at the setup of the furniture. It’s all just as beautiful as the crib and I can’t help but want it all. I know that it’s probably selfish. I doubt that I need it all, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting it.

  “Rosana,” Salvatore calls out.

Looking up at him through my lashes, I try to hide my smile, which causes him to chuckle. “You want it all,” he rasps.

  “I really do.”

He lowers his head, touching his lips to mine, and he kisses me. It’s long and hard, not overly wet, but it doesn’t make me want him any less. In fact, if I could take him right here, right now, I would.

I can’t wait to get home and celebrate this day. Everything bad that’s happened recently has long since been forgotten. The only things that matter are us, this baby, and our future—together.

  SALVATORE

After picking out the nursery furniture, I start to take Rosana home, but Kimberly calls me and tells me that she needs to see me. That she needs to speak with me.

I know that I’ve neglected my clients and I’ve put a lot of strain on her to do more than she usually would, but I should be back in the office now without any more hiccups—hopefully.

“I need to go to the office,” I announce as I head in that direction.

Rosana looks out of the side of the window, then shifts her gaze back to me. “Okay,” she says, but the disappointment is clearly laced in her voice.

I don’t ask her why she’s disappointed, I can practically taste her need. I’ll make sure she’s satisfied, but adult responsibilities always come first, unfortunately. Clearing my throat, I speed up a bit and get to the office in record time.

Helping Rosana into the building, I guide her to the small break room and get her a bottle of sparkling water before I leave her and head toward Kimberly’s desk. She’s sitting with her back to me, but I watch her spine straighten when I call her name.

Slowly, she turns around and looks up at me. I can’t read her facial expression, and I can’t help but be confused.

  “My office?” I ask.

She nods her head woodenly, then slowly stands to her feet and follows behind me into my office. I make my way over to the chair behind my desk and sink down. I have a feeling Kimberly has something major to tell me, and that I won’t like it much.

“I just want to say that working for you has been a pleasure, Salvatore,” she begins. She doesn’t even need to continue. I know exactly what the fuck she’s going to say. She’s quitting. She’s fucking quitting on me.

“I was offered a position that I can’t turn down,” she blurts out.

I could be angry with her, but why? If she was offered an amazing position, I can’t hold her back, I never would. Nodding my head, I close my eyes and exhale before I speak.

“It’s been a pleasure, Kimberly. I wish that I could offer you something to make you stay,” I begin.

Kimberly clears her throat and I press my lips together, waiting for her to say whatever it is that’s on her mind. “Nothing could make me stay, Salvatore. I’m sorry.”

“Then I won’t offer you anything but my best wishes.”

She stands, her body swaying when she does. “Salvatore,” she calls out. Lifting my head, I watch her and wait for whatever it is she’s about to say. “It’s no secret I wanted you. I did too, so badly, but I see how happy you are now. You’re so at peace and so in love in just a few weeks. I’m happy for you and I want that.”

“You’ll find it,” I murmur, uncomfortable and unsure of what to say. She turns and takes a couple steps, then clears her throat as she reaches the door.

Looking back at her again, I wait for whatever it is she’s going to say. I know that it’s going to be something she deems important.

Arching a brow, I smile at her, and she gives me a small smile as well. “Be happy, Salvatore. I can’t deny I’m a bit jealous that it wasn’t me, but even though it wasn’t—be happy,” she whispers, then she leaves.

I stare at the closed office door, wondering what the fuck I’m going to do now. Kimberly signed an NDA, though I’ll have to monitor her for several years, essentially, she’s free. I don’t know what I’m going to do or how I’m going to find another paralegal. The hunt is on, and I let out a heavy sigh at the idea of holding interviews.

“Salvatore?” a woman’s voice calls out and I don’t even have to tell her to come in before she’s barging through the door.

Maci stands in front of me, her hip popped out and her fist resting on it. “Kimberly quit,” she announces.

I hum, nodding my head. “She did,” I agree.

“You need a paralegal,” she announces.

Laughing softly, I smirk. “I do.”

We stare at one another for a long moment, then she finally lets out a breath. “I want to be your paralegal,” she announces.

“And the baby?” I ask, dipping my chin to her belly.

Maci shakes her head. “I’m not like other wives. I want this. I’ve never done anything for myself, I’ve never had control. I have that now. Tiziano supports me, fully.”

“He knows you want this?” I ask.

She nods her head. “He does.”

Licking my lips, I watch her for a long moment, then I nod my head. “Okay, Maci. You enrol
l in the classes, you take them and pass, you can be my paralegal.”

Her lips curve up into a huge smile and she nods her head several times. “Thank you so much,” she squeals before she turns around and hurries out of the office.

I watch her go, laughing at her excitement and at the same time feeling relieved. She won’t be a paralegal overnight, there will be more work for me to do for a little while, but in the end, it will be nice to have famiglia helping me in here. Someone that I can be a bit more open with when it comes to legal documents that involve the Made Men.

  Chapter Thirty-Nine

  SALVATORE

Sitting in my office, I decide to turn on my computer and do a little work. Well, not so much work as I need to check my messages. I also need to restrict Kimberly’s access, considering she’s already walked out of the office.

I know that Rosana is in the kitchen, but I need to handle these few things first, then I can take her home and take care of both of our needs.

“Salvatore?” a soft voice calls out.

This voice, I know the owner of it well, and I grin as I look up at her standing across the room in the doorway.

Without saying anything, I stand from my desk and make my way over to my wife. Dipping my chin, I touch my lips to hers, wrapping my arms around her and tugging her into the room. Slamming the door behind her, I back her up until she’s pressed against the closed door.

Reaching for the waist of her pants, I tug them down, grinning against her lips when I realize they don’t even have a button or zipper. They slide down like goddamn butter. She steps out of them, kicking off her high heels, her lips never leaving mine.

Gripping her hips, I grind my pant-covered cock against her belly with a groan. My body aches for relief. Sliding my hands up her sides, I feel fabric and frown.

Taking a step back, I look down and realize she’s wearing some kind of bodysuit.

She looks up at me, her lips curved up into a smile as she laughs. “It’s ridiculous, but it won’t come untucked,” she says as she starts to remove the fabric and then throws it across the room, leaving her in only her panties.

Licking my lips, my eyes take in her whole body and I can’t just look at her for long. I need to be inside of her immediately.

Gathering her in my arms, I pick her up and carry her over to the couch against the wall. I want to bend her over the desk and take her. But now that the baby is clearly showing, there’s no way that I could do that. I would be too afraid that I’d hurt both of them.

Setting her down in front of the couch, I touch my lips to hers, sliding my tongue along the seam of her lips as I taste her before I back up slightly.

“Turn around, knees in the couch, tip your ass,” I instruct.

  “Salvi,” she breathes.

Dipping my chin, I raise a brow and wait for her to do as I’ve demanded. She sinks her teeth into her bottom lip with a small grin. Then I watch as she strips out of her panties and does exactly what I’ve asked.

I watch as she climbs onto the couch, reaching out as she grabs ahold of the back and pushes her gorgeous ass out.

  Fuck me.

It’s my turn to take everything off and I do, happily. Wrapping my hand around my cock, I stroke myself a couple of times trying to relieve the building pressure, but I know the only way to do that is to be inside of her.

Sliding my palms up the backs of her thighs, I grip her ass tightly and spread her apart. “Salvatore,” she moans.

Shaking my head, I slide my fingers through the crack of her ass, then dip my fingers inside of her before I swirl her clit. She pushes back against my fingers with a purr. It’s the sexiest fucking sound I’ve ever heard in my whole goddamn life.

When she feels wet enough, I glide her wetness on my length then slowly sink inside of her from behind to the root with one slow move. Wrapping my fingers around her hips, they dig into her skin as I try to keep from pounding the fuck out of her right now.

  Control.

I have a loose hold on my control right now and I close my eyes, inhaling a deep breath, then let it out with a sigh.

  Fuck.

  My wife.

She’s so damn perfect for me.

Rosana pushes back as far as she can, rocking with a moan. My control is slipping with each little noise that she makes. I want to fuck her so hard, but I won’t do that. Gripping her hips tightly, I pull out of her, then sink back inside.

I continue the motion, slowly, over and over, the rhythm never breaking. Sliding one of my hands from her hip, I slip it between her legs and start to rub circles against her clit.

“Yes,” she cries, throwing her head back as she sits up a little higher.

I groan at the different angle, my fingers never stopping their movements against her clit. She pushes back hard with each thrust as I shift upward.

Rosana lets her head fall backward, landing on my shoulder before she turns her face to my neck. I can feel her warm breaths against my skin, the sensation sliding all over my skin.

My other hand leaves her hip and I slide it up her side, cupping her breast as I continue to move inside of her.

“So good, Salvi. I’m so close,” she breathes.

I hum, unable to speak a coherent word. She’s taken them all from me completely. My fingers move faster, my back tingles, and I know that I’m close. Plucking her nipple, I fuck her as hard as I can in this position, fuck control, fuck it completely.

  I take my wife.

  I make her come.

When she does, anyone that’s still left in the office has no doubt heard her, but I don’t care. My roar follows shortly after, and if they were mistaken by her cry of ecstasy, they cannot mistake mine.

  ROSANA

My thighs tremble the whole way home. That’s what I wanted, what I needed. I didn’t think I’d want it in Salvatore’s office, but it was perfect. He holds my hand the entire way home and I press my lips together, unsure that this is real life still.

“The store said that the nursery furniture should arrive in six weeks, that should give us enough time to find out the sex and paint it, right?”

“Are you going to paint the room?” I ask, turning to look at him in surprise.

Salvatore doesn’t look at me, he keeps his gaze forward, but he does say something that surprises me even more. In fact, it makes my heart skip a beat.

“Fresh paint for a fresh start. Maybe we’ll paint the whole fucking place, or better yet—?”

I hold my breath, waiting for what he’s going to say because I can’t even guess. “Maybe we’ll just move.”

“Move?” I exhale, my eyes wide and my lips parted in awe.

He laughs as he takes the exit toward his condo. “A condo is no place to raise a baby or the rest of the children we’re going to have, bambola. They need a yard, maybe a pool, but definitely a yard.”

  “Are you serious?”

He hums, then pulls the car into his parking garage, shifts it into park, then turns to face me. “I’m serious. I had the realtor looking for houses before I fucked everything up. I haven’t stopped looking. I don’t know why, maybe because I knew that I couldn’t leave you, that I didn’t want to leave you, not really.”

  “What happens now?”

“Now, we go and look at houses and you pick one, then we really start our family.”

  “It’s too much, Salvatore.”

  “Too much what?” he asks.

  “Money, everything.”

What I’ve said causes him to throw his head back in laughter, a true belly laugh and he doesn’t stop until he’s caught his breath, and only then does he turn to me, a smile playing on his lips.

“Rosana, it’s not. Trust me, yeah?”

Licking my lips, I think about how much houses cost in our area. There is just no way. I know that he makes good money, but he’s not Gavino. He doesn’t make nearly as much as he does. If I’m not working, we need to be frugal.

  “We don’t, bambola.”

>   Lifting my hand, I cover my lips, embarrassed that I’ve just said aloud what I was thinking. Salvatore lifts his hand and cups my cheek. He looks directly into my eyes, all joking and laughing aside. He is being completely serious as he takes me in. Then he speaks.

“Money is never a concern for you, not ever. It’s my concern, but it isn’t a concern because I have plenty.”

“I’m not working and kids are expensive,” I stress.

My words cause his lips to twitch, and he shakes his head a couple of times. “Kids are expensive, but trust me when I tell you, money is not and will never be an issue, but if it ever is, I will tell you.”

  “Promise me,” I demand.

His eyes light up and he nods his head once. “I promise you, Rosana.”

“I’m your wife, you have to tell me,” I snap.

He hums, leaning forward, and touches his lips to mine. “I promise, wife,” he murmurs against my mouth. “Now let’s go inside. I’m hungry.”

He nips my bottom lip, then opens his door and unfolds from the front seat. I watch him jog around the front of the car to my door and open it with a grin, holding his palm out for me. Slipping mine inside, he helps me up from the seat, and again, hand in hand, we walk into the building.

I don’t know how or when it happened. I like to believe that it was always meant to be. That I was put into his life to give him what he needed and at the same time, he was brought into my life to do the same.

I’m just not sure, but I’m also not sure that I overly care too much, because it’s not like I’ll ever let him go, not at this point.

  He’s mine.

  I’m his.

  We are ours.

This life that we have, it looks nothing like what either of us probably imagined for ourselves, mainly because it’s better.

I never wanted to be with a Made Man, and yet that was exactly who I ran to when I needed help.
