Kira stood from the table and collected her chips. She tossed a black chip at the dealer. The hundred dollar tip was obviously more than the dealer was used to and Kira left the table as the crowd clapped. She felt suddenly vulnerable in the deep blue evening dress that Rock had chosen for her to wear. She liked the feel of it, but compared to nearly everyone here, she was seriously overdressed.

Kira maneuvered through the crowd of people who complemented her play and then she saw him. She saw Rock. Her Rock. Solid and strong leaning against a slot machine. Pride in his eyes. Amusement as well. She smiled at him as all of her fears left and fell on his big shoulders.

“Little flower, you are full of surprises,” Rock said softy as Kira beamed at him.

“I don’t want you getting bored, Sir,” Kira huffed at him, still smiling.

“I don’t think I could ever get bored with you,” Rock said. He kissed her and wanted to take the kiss deeper but Kira had wrenched her head away and tilted her ear to listen to something.

“Carmen,” Kira whispered as she heard the scream echo through the casino floor.

“Sam’s with her,” Rock said but Kira had already pulled away from him running in her heels toward the source of the scream.

Kira pushed her way through the crowd ready to kill. Then she heard Carmen laughing. Finally she saw her friend, waving a drink in her hand as she hugged Sam and danced in front of the dinging slot machine.

“Jackpot, Kira!” Carmen yelled. “Sam hit it!” Carmen turned to Sam and kissed him full on the lips. Sam wrapped his hands around Carmen and kissed her back. The crowd cheered.

Kira leaned against a slot machine and felt her knees start to shake. Fight or flight was leaving her and she struggled to maintain control.

“I’m going to kill her,” Kira said as strong arms hugged her from behind. She knew it was Rock. “I’m going to kill her slowly, very, very, slowly.”

Rock held Kira as she melted into his embrace. He murmured in her ear about having to have a plan and a grave dug if she truly planned on killing her friend. When Kira choked on her drink and laughed, Rock felt complete. His little flower was a force to be reckoned with, even in her evening gown and high heels. Rock had no doubt that she could’ve killed with just those heels if she would’ve had to.

Rock and Kira meandered through the casino as they waited for Sam to get paid. Kira cashed out her chips and was embarrassed when she had to sign the IRS forms. She hadn’t realized that she had won so much money. It wasn’t close to the fifty thousand dollars that Sam had won but it was over five thousand.

“I’d like to donate this to your retirement fund,” Kira said to Rock as she handed him the check.

“I knew you were going to do this and I can’t accept,” Rock said firmly.

“I wouldn’t have been here tonight to win this money if it wasn’t for you.” Kira’s resolve returned even under his hard gaze. “So either the remainder of your rent is free or I give this to you right now.”

Rock calculated in his head. Free rent for the remainder of the contract meant Kira would lose more than what the check was worth, but it also afforded him interesting opportunities to still pay for things around the farm. “I’ll take the free rent,” Rock said finally. She could be so stubborn when she wanted to be. He had seen that steel look in her eyes.

Sam and Carmen joined Rock and Kira.

“I think drinks by the pool would be fun,” Rock said to Sam. “What do you think?”

“That sounds great,” Sam said. “Drinks are on me.”

“Ladies, we have adjoining suites upstairs,” Rock said and handed each woman a key card. “Change quickly and meet us at the pool.”

Kira grinned at Rock while Carmen shook her finger at Sam and kissed him again.

“Did they pack our bags?” Carmen asked as the two waited for the elevator.

“Rock picks out my clothes all the time so I’m sure that he packed my stuff.” Kira huffed but she wasn’t really upset about it.

“So Sam went through my stuff?” Carmen asked. “I have things, like, you know, substitute-boyfriend type of toys in my things. This isn’t good.”

“Especially if Rock saw them,” Kira said. “He would’ve snuck them in the bag as an option.”

Outside of the doors that led into each of their rooms, Kira looked at Carmen. “Open the adjoining doors right away. Then we can yell at them together.”

  “Gotcha,” Carmen said.

Kira struggled to open the door that connected her suite with Carmen’s suite. Carmen was banging on the door. She finally managed to release the locks and watched Carmen jump up and down.

“I got a dozen roses,” Carmen shrieked.

Kira rolled her eyes. Carmen was easily impressed.

Kira glanced around the room and saw an ornate pot sitting on the table in front of the sofa. She flipped on the lights and walked over to the pot. A cactus, sporting a sweet smelling pink flower, was in the pot. A small note beside the pot explained that she could protect herself, flower beautifully, smelled sweet, and behind all of her spikes she was still so soft and juicy on the inside. Kira nearly melted as she cradled the pot in her hands and read the note again. So I am a cactus flower. Rock’s little cactus flower.

Kira managed to set the pot down and find her bag. She changed into the dark green two-piece that Rock had packed. It had boy shorts and a rather conservative top as far as two-pieces went. Kira saw Carmen in a nearly matching suit but hers was a deep orange that accented her dark skin perfectly.

“This has been the best Christmas and New Year’s ever,” Carmen said as she hugged Kira.

  * * * *

“That’s a pretty sight,” Rock said to Sam as he watched the women come toward the table. His eyes focused on Kira. Her small smile widened as she listened to something that Carmen was saying. Carmen had her arm around Kira but Kira wasn’t returning the embrace. Carmen obviously knew her friend well enough not to be offended.

“Carmen’s hot,” Sam managed to say. “I like the orange. I mean Kira is cute but she’s not as open as Carmen.”

“Kira is more reserved,” Rock said aloud. More willing to serve her Master. Rock pulled his eyes away from the two women and shook his head. It was moving quick. The further Kira submitted, the more he wanted her. All of her. He knew he needed to be careful. People could get hurt in those types of exchanges.

Kira sat when Rock pointed to the chair next to him and slid it close to him. Sam stood and pulled Carmen’s chair out for her and Carmen grinned at him.

“Such a gentleman,” Carmen purred. “A girl could get used to that real quick, Sam. You better watch yourself.”

Kira noticed that Sam blushed when he sat back down. Kira saw Rock’s mustache twitch and she knew that he was amused with the couple as well. Kira jumped a little when Rock reached out and placed his hand on her forearm. He left it there for a moment and then started to stroke her forearm with his thumb. Kira relaxed again. It felt nice. His hands were always so much warmer than her skin.

Kira had finished her drink and had started on another. She was feeling buzzed. A good type of happy buzz. Carmen was telling Sam and Rock about what she did as a psychiatrist and how she didn’t try to solve problems but created more options for patients to find ways to work around their problems. Sam seemed genuinely interested. Soon Carmen was lost in what Sam did for work and Kira actually started to see him as more than just a pain in her ass. He truly did seem to care for the community that he served.

“Someone let the cat out of the bag,” a loud voice called from across the pool followed by high-pitched giggling.

“Oh God,” Sam said under his breath.

Kira looked in the direction of the voices and where Sam was looking. Her pulse instantly jumped when she saw Melissa and Michelle, the same bitches from Walmart, the same bitches from high-school, the same…

“Ouch,” Kira squeaked when a pinch on her butt commanded her attention. She turned her eyes to Ro
ck and he glanced at each of his shoulders. Kira giggled. The drinks were certainly helping because she felt almost giddy as she looked at his different colored eyes. “You have big shoulders and beautiful eyes.”

Rock’s smiled at his little flower. He hoped that the women across the way would now leave them alone. He had managed to distract Kira, though Carmen still looked like she was ready for a good rumble. Rock had no doubt that between Carmen’s street life upbringing and Kira’s Marine skills the two of them could take out everyone in the pool area and not suffer any damage. They may not even be breathing heavy after the fact. The image of Kira and Carmen standing with one foot on top of a pile of bodies as they raised their hands in victory suddenly entered his mind. Rock chuckled at the thought and saw that Kira laughed with him.

  “What’s funny?” Carmen asked.

“I was thinking of the two of you.” Rock took a sip of his drink and then explained the image.

“There will be no killing tonight,” Sam said seriously. “I may be off duty but I still have an obligation to uphold the law.” Everyone looked at him. Then he hiccupped and the table erupted in laughter.

A thought formed in the back of Kira’s mind. Something about what Carmen had said. Something about showing Sam what she was hiding. She was trying to get all of the jumbles together as she looked at her drink and tilted her head.

“What’s that thought? Oh sweetness, this isn’t good,” Carmen said from across the table. “Whatever you are thinking. Stop. Now. Last time you had that look we ended up hunting for meteorites in Chile.”

Rock choked on his drink. Kira was spontaneous and got into trouble? This was news.

“Does she get that look often?” Rock asked.

“No. But it always means trouble,” Carmen said. “We’ve spent a Christmas in Australia, seen a solar eclipse in—I forget what Soviet country we were in—been three sheets to the wind for a festival in Brazil and to top it off we saw the Prince and Princess get married in England.”

“That sounds like fun,” Sam said as he patted Carmen on the arm.

“Oh, it would be but trouble seems to find us wherever we go,” Carmen hissed across the table. “We were rescued by some type of nomads in Chile when the jeep broke down and the type of Spanglish they spoke was like nothing I have ever heard. The Australian trip was marred by shark attacks and saving a pod of dolphins that had beached themselves. Don’t get me started on the Russian trip because neither of us navigated that very well and do you have any idea how potent drinks are in Brazil? Not only that but you have to be careful during the festival. Is it a guy or a girl? Who knows? You will when the lights are out!”

“Is there anywhere the two of you haven’t been?” Rock asked. Kira shrugged her shoulders looking innocent as ever but Carmen took the bait.

“New Zealand,” Carmen said, crossing her arms across her chest. “We missed our flight, thankfully. We would’ve arrived just as the town was experiencing the worst earthquake in like, a thousand years.”

“So this look only means trouble?” Kira asked, pointing to her face and smiling innocently as the plan came together with a snap.

“Not trouble,” Carmen retracted, but she looked at Kira warily. “It means it will be another event to chalk up on the most memorable moments of my life. Be it good or bad. And this can’t be good.”

Carmen looked to the two women that were approaching the table. Kira followed her gaze and smiled at Melissa and Michelle. She stood from her chair, smiled so sweetly and warmly that she could feel the sugar in her mouth. She clapped her hands together.

“I’m soooo glad you guys are here,” Kira gushed.

“Not good,” Carmen whispered to Rock and Sam. Kira heard but shrugged it off.

“I’m going to have a Memorial Day party. I know pops always had it on Labor Day but I’m going to break tradition and do one on Memorial Day.” Kira paused dramatically. “I wanted to invite both of you. Spouses as well because not inviting them would be impolite.”

  “A party?” Melissa huffed.

“You’ve been to the Labor Day ones before,” Kira reminded her. “But this one is special.”

  “I bet.” Michelle grinned.

Kira ignored the snide remark and leaned forward like she was giving away a big secret. “This is the grand opening of Caged Kitty, a little online store I run, so it’s kind of a coming out of the Quonset party, so to speak. All the dirty little things I’ve been hiding and doing will be in full view. I’m inviting some of my friends from abroad and then only special invitations to people in town.”

“Special invites?” Melissa was serious. “Exclusive party.”

“Oh yeah.” Carmen nodded her head and rolled her eyes. “Better make this one twenty-one and older only.”

“That’s true,” Kira admitted, still smiling sweetly. “No kids.” She lowered her voice and whispered. “They may have nightmares. Everyone who attends will have to sign non-disclosure agreements, too. I mean, not everyone wants everyone to know what happens behind locked doors.”

“Count us in,” Melissa said and then she dragged Michelle away from the table.

Kira sat down and rubbed her cheeks. Smiling that widely and faking it for that long had taken a toll on her muscles.

“With all due respect mis-dress,” Carmen leaned across the table, “that was the most fucked-up idea you have ever had in your entire existence on this planet.” Then Carmen broke into a smile. “For some sadistic, though I’m leaning to masochistic, reason, I can’t wait.”

“Will you help me plan?” Kira asked.

“Will a bird eat the trail of bread crumbs?” Carmen downed her drink. “What is it you say again when something is really serious but you are there for me?”

“Semper fi,” Kira said, smiling at Carmen after flicking a gaze toward Rock.

“Well then Semper. Fuckin’. Fi.” Carmen reached her hand across the table and when Kira shook it Carmen added. “Hoo-Ra.”

Silence filled the table. Kira and Carmen sipped their new drinks.

“What the hell is mis-dressed?” Rock finally asked.

Kira laughed and Carmen looked nervous.

“I call Kira ‘mis-dress’ because when we are doing a scene for her clients she is in her work clothes and completely not dressed appropriately for a submissive. I call her that because it sounds like Mistress, the clients have never made a move on her as a Domme and it helps me stay in the moment, too.” Carmen shrugged her shoulder as she explained her title for Kira.

“It helps me stay in the work mind frame as well,” Kira admitted.

Sam hiccupped, Rock tried to hide a belch. Carmen was finishing her drink and Kira felt the acute effects of alcohol on her system. She tried to muddle through what she had done. What she had promised. But the promise of another drink being set in front of her was more inviting than figuring out what type of party the community had just been invited to at her house in less than five months.

Rock studied his little flower. Her cheeks were flushed and she was smiling for real this time. She looked at Carmen and then she turned her big green eyes to him. She smiled and patted his knee.

“Thank you,” Kira said and exhaled sharply. “This has been the best of all my New Year’s Eve nights.”

“That’s saying a lot.” Carmen laughed as Sam kissed her cheek.

  Kira looked at Carmen.

“Right there!” Carmen said, pointing at Kira. “That look!”

“Cannon ball,” Kira challenged Carmen as she stood and shrugged off her towel.

“Last one in is a…” Carmen started and then shrieked as Kira forced both of her arms behind her back and lead her to the pool. “I’m going in first at this rate. I will win!”

Kira scooped Carmen over her shoulder. “My feet will hit first.” Then she flung both of them into the cold water.

Carmen surfaced, started swearing and was pulled underwater quickly. Sam stood and laughed as he noticed Kira circling Carmen like a shar
k.

Rock relaxed. Kira was in her element right now. She had given her worries to his big shoulders, was playing with her best friend, and the rest of the world, for once, didn’t matter.

Kira surfaced and looked directly at Rock.

Rock was caught off guard by his wandering thoughts and his brain focused acutely on Kira’s eyes. Obviously I still matter in her world.

  Chapter 13

Kira looked at Rock. He had ordered her to strip out of her swim suit the minute that they had entered the suite. She was wet and shivering in front of him. He smiled at her and she felt warm despite being cold. He was a ruthless and nasty Master.

“You will ride me tonight,” Rock said as he stripped out of his clothes and sat in the middle of the sofa. He turned his gaze toward Kira and she nodded her head. He lowered his gaze and got the response he was looking for.

  “Yes, Master,” Kira said.

Rock could help but grin at the way her entire body flushed. The perfect combination of excitement and nervousness. Rock looked down at his throbbing cock. “Climb aboard.”

Kira giggled at Rock as he had turned playful. She could handle playful if she was going to be up there for the world to see. She hated being on top. It never went well. She always messed up. She never had the right pace, the right angle, or the right moves.

“Hands on my shoulders, little flower,” Rick said softly. The feel of her delicate hands on his shoulders reminded him that she was fragile despite her ninja skills. She could probably kill him now, snap his neck, tear his beating heart out of his chest and eat it while smiling, but she was submitting. All that worry, all that control, and all that fear. It was on him now. He accepted it with his entire being.

Rock sighed and held Kira’s hips firmly in his hands as she settled, hovering, over his cock. Her entrance was slick, already throbbing, and ready for him. He could smell her and the scent was like no other musk he had ever experienced. It wasn’t thick and dark. It was tangy, spicy, and so heady that he wanted to thrust upward and fill her with himself. He wanted to mark her. He wanted his seed inside her. They hadn’t ever gone without the condom. Now that they were cleared he couldn’t wait.
