“Finally” he muttered under his breath before calling at Alice to come in. Alice Holiday sauntered into his office wearing a low cut top, tight pencil skirt and a pair of expensive looking high heels. “
Sir you wanted to see me” she stated more than asked. “
Yes, please take a seat” Harry offered as he sat up straight on his leather chair “I wanted to talk to you about the massacre at The Police Station” “Sir” Alice replied “I have already approved a cover story suggesting the deaths were caused by a gas leak. It’s a plausible cover and will be easy to spin.”
“I think we need to go public on this” Harry said gravely “with the truth”
“But Sir” gasped a stunned Alice “The out cry alone not to mention the mass panic such a statement would cause. We need to keep the truth under wraps It’s in the publics best interests”
“I’m not so sure any more” Harry sighed “We don’t know when the next attack could come. I’ve not long got off the phone with Giles Price and he is convinced the Vampire’s are just getting started. Do we keep finding cover stories for each attack until the Public realise the truth for them selves. Because believe me with smart phone’s and social media that won’t take long.”
“We don’t know for sure if they will attack again” Alice insisted “We need to keep to protocol and stick with the gas leak story.”
“I’m sorry Alice” Harry said standing up in an attempt to further exert his authority “I have made up my mind on this matter”
“Well” Alice said ruefully “I am sorry to hear that”
As his Home Secretary finished her sentence Harry Worthington looked at her face in stunned silence. The Prime Minister just couldn’t believe what he was witnessing as Alice’s face twisted and contorted into the hideous visage of a Vampire. Alice climbed to her feet and lunged across the desk towards the terrified Prime Minister. It was all over in a matter of moments as Harry Worthington was swallowed by the oblivion of Darkness
