  “Thank you.”

We walked down the hall to another room exactly the same as my first room, only it was flip flopped. “I love it!” I said.

“I’ll get someone to help move your things, Tempest.”

“No, I’ve got it,” I said, not trusting any of the students around me. Somehow I figured out there was an underground message that was sent to all the students to try to get rid of me. I was the hit, and all assassins are now game to come after me.

“Ok,” Ms. Turlington handed me the keys to my new room. “Oh, this is something a few students here have…security. They have their own bodyguards and servants. Do you think you might need one? I can talk to a few students who have a bodyguard to see if we can work something out for you to share one or something like that?”

I thought again to the fact I couldn’t trust anyone here at Kingsbury. Especially the students. “Nah, I’m good. I wouldn’t want to take away the full protection of a bodyguard from the student who hired him. Besides, I think I could take care of myself.”

“I’m sure you could, but for added peace of mind, sometimes hiring a bodyguard would be a viable option.”

I thought about it for a while and said, “No, I’m fine.”

  Chapter 5

I’d debated about staying in my new room and having dinner delivered like room service or go to the cafeteria and meet up with my new friend Lina. On the one hand, I could stay and make sure my room didn’t get vandalized again while I was out. On the other hand, if I stay in my room, it would look like I had given up, that I was afraid. That was clearly not the case.

I decided to go to the cafeteria.

And to make a clear John Hancock statement that Tempest Ryan was here to stay, I wore my new Kingsbury Prep uniform. The burgundy blazer with the gold embroidered crest, Kingsbury Prep plaid skirt, a white blouse and the Kingsbury Prep tie became the proud armor I would wear to show those bullies who wanted to kick me out of Kingsbury I was fighting back. I had every right to stay as any student. My application was accepted fair and square as anyone’s applications.

To complete my outfit, I wore knee high socks with extra padding on the knees and my steel toed combat boots. On my fingers, I wore special brass rings that were girly girl decorative, but can tear off the skin of people like it was paper. In my purple hair, I wore the Kingsbury Prep plaid bow barrette on top of my head sweeping the sides of my hair up and away from my face.

Placing my album and laptop in my bling backpack, I added a few other goodies for just in cases.

Finally, before leaving my room, I made sure I had a camera running in my room, as well as right outside my room as part of the doorbell. From my phone, I could see who would be at my front door. I had placed a similar camera facing my window. As a last overall safety measure, I added a sticker of a happy face emoji on the bathroom mirror with a saying, “Smile! You’re on Camera!”

Another reason I decided to go to the cafeteria for dinner was to check out the rumor mill. See how my ball busting fight had been received.

I made my way to the cafeteria, crossing the lawn, but was soon flanked on each side by the K3. Hunter joined me to my right, and the White Night whom I now know as Orion joined me to my left. Kaz, the blue black hair King, joined me in front. “You didn’t come to my place earlier today,” he said walking besides me.

“Oh, I forgot or I probably didn’t want to go,” I said.

  He didn’t look too happy.

He grabbed my wrist then and said, “We’re going right now.”

I shook his hand off my wrist. “Didn’t you learn any manners? So grabby. How are you supposed to make a good king when you act so selfish and all about ‘me’?”

He was in such shock, his mouth fell opened.

  “Ask me nicely,” I said.

  “I don’t ask,” he sneered. “I command.”

“I’m not your subject,” I said. “Where I’m from we don’t have kings. We have elections for a president whom we elect to serve the people.”

“Then I feel sorry for you for not having a monarchy,” he said.

“I don’t. Not at all. As you can see, the US is doing very well despite not being a monarchy.”

“Kaz,” Hunter said. “Are we taking her to your place or are we joining her at the cafeteria?”

“She’s joining us at our table in the cafeteria,” Kaz said.

“Assuming I want to sit with you,” I said. “I’m fine sitting anywhere else, believe me.”

Hunter put his hand on my arm, and the heat between us flared. “Tempest, join us, we have something to say to you.”

Orion echoed Hunter. “Tempest, it’s important.”

I took a deep breath and walked up to Kaz, my violet eyes looking into his azure blue ones. For a brief moment, I forgot what I was going to say.

He inched his face closer to mine. His hand reached out to rub his finger on my lower lip pressing down so the rest of my mouth would open. Before I knew it, a moan escaped from my lips, which he swallowed as his lips locked unto mine. Immediately I was lost in his kiss, and no one existed except for Kaz and me. Then it was over, as Kaz broke it off.

He ran a hand through his thick hair and said, “Now that I’ve had a taste of you for myself, I understand what Hunter and Ori was talking about.”

“What do you mean?” I asked.

Kaz didn’t elaborate but continued walking to the cafeteria to the gilded entrance. He flung the door open and strode in like the first time I saw him. I followed behind him while Hunter and Ori followed after me.

All eyes were on us, fawning and oohing and awwing.

“Who’s that gorgeous goddess with the K3?” a girl in the crowd shouted.

  “Never seen her before.”

“So pretty she must be a crown princess.”

I followed Kaz right pass Lina, who was standing next to the Q2’s Veronica and Sabrina in front to see the K3. When they saw me, all three of them had the look of pure envy. I tried to stop to talk to Lina, but Ori pushed me forward.

Lina looked crushed as she fled the cafeteria.

I was about to go after her when Hunter took my arm and led me to the largest table at the back of the room. Away from other tables, it was clearly the best one in the cafeteria. Kaz sat down first, Ori pulled out my chair, and Hunter seated me. I was seated next to Kaz to my right and Hunter to my left.

Unlike the other tables, this one had menus and a drinks list. Kaz handed me a menu, while the rest of K3 reached out for their own. “I’d get the filet mignon,” Kaz recommended perusing his menu.

“Yes, it’s quite good,” Hunter said.

“Like the faculty at Kingsbury,” Kaz continued, “the kitchen staff are top-notch. Kingsbury only accepts the best of the best.” He reached out a finger to trace my cheeks. My body heated with his touch, and I almost shuddered.

Kaz noticed the effect he had on me and moved in closer until his thigh was touching mine. His finger dipped down to my bottom lip, and he leaned in to whisper, “I heard you’ve been very naughty.”

“You’ve heard wrong,” I said, my voice huskier than a few minutes before.

“They were wrong and out of line,” Kaz said.

  “Who?” I asked.

“The five boys you demolished today,” Kaz said. “Eric, Terence, Wilhelm, Julian, and Charles. Freshmen and Junior class juveniles.”

Hunter moved in close on my other side until his thigh was pressed against mine. “Tempest lives up to her name. She’s a whirlwind of hotness.” His hand touched my knee under the table and traveled under my skirt. He leaned in, “Your fierceness is fucking hot.”

Sandwiched between two of the K3s, I was smoldering. With Kaz rubbing my lips and Hunter’s fingers now inside my panties, rubbing my nub with my own juices, I couldn’t think. I couldn’t breathe.

Hunter licked his lips and his eyes glazed over with heat. “I could take you right here, Tempest, you’re so ripe.”

  Kaz dipped his
finger into my mouth before replacing it with his mouth. His tongue was assaulting mine as his mouth devoured mine. I moaned but his mouth swallowed it, kissing me deeper and deeper until I was lost in a depth of heat and lust.

As our tongues tangled, Hunter’s fingers were circling my nub in a dance of fire. Each touch inflamed me until I was writhing against his hand.

I let out a moan which was silenced with Kaz’s mouth before I exploded, waves of pleasure wracking my body. After I subsided, Kaz whispered, “Those boys should never have touched you where Hunter’s touching you or kissed you where I’ve kissed you. You’re ours first. We claimed you first. They went against K3’s decree. You were right to destroy them.”

Hunter bought up his fingers from under my skirt and looked into my eyes with his chocolate ones. He licked his fingers slowly, “Your sweet honey pussy is ours. If you haven’t annihilated them, we would make sure they’re never heard of again.”

Ori had moved his chair behind me as his hands kneaded my shoulders. “We’re pretty pissed off with what’s been happening.”

“We don’t want what happened to you happening again,” Hunter said. “So, we’re bringing you into our fold.”

“That’s why it’s good for everyone to see you with us at this table, at the cafeteria, and at our place,” Kaz said. “Always with us…”

“We want to make it clear to everyone at Kingsbury, that you are now our girl,” Hunter said. “At Kingsbury, we are the K3s and we rule this school. Under our protection, you would be able to be free to go to your classes, eat with us without being afraid of being drugged by some dweeb freshmen K3 wannabes, and sleep in a protected environment with us.”

“Kaz’s place is an entire house,” Hunter said. “There’s enough room for you even if you want privacy. But it’s protected. We have security. We’re probably the only ones with guards since…”

Kaz shot Hunter a look. “Some of us needed it.”

“Word on the Kingsbury Prep street, Tempest,” Ori leaned in. “You are the hottest thing that had ever stepped on campus. Commoner or not, all the boys hands-down polled 100% they want to fuck you. Including us.”

“Only us,” Kaz said almost too fiercely. He looked exasperated and said, “I’m too angry with this student body at the moment to eat with them. Let’s go back to my place.”

“Ok, before you decide to go to your place with me, I don’t know what just happened. First of all, I’m not some prize. No one can claim me. And, what the fuck do you have to do with those guys who tried to rape me or all the crazy shit that has been happening to me just because I accepted the fucking invitation to attend your so-called best-of-the-best school. K3 or F4 or whatever you think you are, if you think your school is the best of the best in the world, then prove it to me. Because everything I’ve experienced so far today has shown me this place is a shit house!”

I got up and grabbed my backpack and shove my way out of their table to go find Lina. What a way to start a friendship than to snub her. As much as the guys made me hot all over, I had my pride and principles.

My stomach growled in hunger on my way out of the cafeteria. Dammit, I ran over to the dome-platters and grabbed a plate, filling it myself before I tossed a bottled water from the drink table into my backpack.

I found Lina sitting by herself outside in the patio area. She didn’t have any food in front of her, just an apple and a glass of milk. “Hey, Princess,” I said. “How’s it going? Did you not get any food? Here, have mine.” I placed my dish of food in front of her.

My stomach growled. “Or we can share,” I was going to take a bite of cheesecake from the plate when strong arms lifted me from behind as Lina’s eyes looked to my side and glazed over into dreamy pools.

Kaz was carrying me in his arms as though I was as light as a feather. “We decided to take our dinner to go,” Kaz said. Hunter was carrying boxed bentos to go, while Ori was carrying a cooler filled with drinks.

“Don’t they deliver straight to your place?” I asked.

“They do,” Kaz said, actually smiling as he was proud of himself. “But I wanted to do it your way, Peasant-style.” He laughed.

I couldn’t help smile. “Peasant-style? Newsflash Mr. Recluse Royal, Peasants or really the rest of the world who isn’t a Royal, do get room service, food delivery service, and if you could afford one, some non-royals do hire a personal chef these days.”

Hunter laughed, “That’s why I kept saying it’s fun to keep her around, Kaz.”

“You know why I’d like to keep her around,” Kaz muttered.

  “As your bodyguard?” I asked.

“That would be interesting,” Kaz said. “There is one part of my body I’d like your body to guard in you.”

Our eyes met, and his spoke to me about the many parts he wanted to guard of my body. At that moment, I was very aware of all my parts touching his body.

  Suddenly Orion coughed.

Hunter put a hand on my thigh.

  Kaz’s grip on me tightened.

Ahead of us was the Q2’s Veronica and Sabrina, standing with their arms crossed and staring daggers at us. Behind them were a group of ten students of various ages, size, and build.

“How dare you flaunt Peasant in our face at your table,” Veronica sneered. “What, she’s here only less than a day, and she’s now sitting with K3 at the table?”

Sabrina nodded, “What did she do? Fuck all of you guys at the same time? I could do that.”

Veronica shot Sabrina an exasperated glare.

“Veronica could do that,” Sabrina corrected herself, smiling proudly at figuring why Veronica was giving her that evil glare.

“You’re pretty hopeless,” Veronica said, indicating that Sabrina was dumb.

Kaz stopped and slid me down his hard muscular sexy body to stand next to him. “What are you doing, Ronnie?”

Veronica’s scowl went from evil hateful bitch to totally in love bitch. “Kaz…you remember my name.”

Kaz looked surprised. “Why wouldn’t I? I know every student’s name in Kingsbury.”

“But you called me by my nickname.”

“It’s a known fact on Wiki. Veronica (Ronnie) Belvedere. Crown Princess of Normandy, and you’re also engaged to marry Prince Rodney.”

“Oh that,” Veronica said. “Just a childhood arrangement. We’re not really bound by it.”

Kaz looked at Hunter. “How bound is she?”

Hunter smiled. “Free as a bird. She has her eyes set on someone else to fill that role.”

Kaz nodded. “So what is this gathering about?” He looked around.

The ten students looked nervously at each other and then at Veronica. “It’s the welcome committee for Tempest.”

I snapped a photo with my phone and said, “I’ve already been welcomed by you this morning. And Sabrina. And your attempt to try to get me into a meat grinder had Hunter didn’t stop you by offering himself up to you for your sexual pleasure.”

Hunter nodded, “Yes, it was indeed a sacrifice.” He looked at me, his eyes smoldering with the memory of the lust that pass between us. The way he was looking at Veronica and Sabrina, he had nothing but contempt for them.

Veronica blushed in front of Kaz. “Hunter is, you know, so good-looking, every girl would want to have sex with him if he offered.”

All the students in back of Veronica looked at each other in confusion. I looked at the sky in confusion. What did she just say?

Kaz shook his head. “Unless you have important business with the K3, please get out of our way.”

The students who had intended to find me alone to gang up on me, all stepped to the side to let us pass.

When we had all walked by to the other side of the walkway, Kaz turned back to Veronica and her new posse.

“And, let it be my decreed as King of Kingsbury Prep’s Student Body. Tempest Ryan is under K3’s Protection. You mess with her, then you mess with us.”

They all opened their mouths in shoc
k.

I was about to walk along with Hunter and Ori when Kaz picked me up and swung me onto his back. He pulled my arms forward until he was holding on them to keep me steady. “Wrap your legs around my waist, Tempest,” he said. “I know you haven’t gotten much rest since you’ve been here. You can rest your head on my shoulders and sleep. I’ll wake you when you get to my place.”

The soft rocking of his gait lulled me to sleep. Soon my cheeks were nestled against his broad hard shoulders. I didn’t realized how tired I was until I fell into a deep sleep.

My mind was racing. I was spinning. So many choices. So many things happening all at once. I was in a medieval castle dressed in a beautiful purple gown encrusted with amethysts, pearls, and diamonds. My father and I lived in this castle, along with a well-cared for and beloved staff.

I was in my room when my maiden Annabelle came to fetch me for the ball. My father’s Birthday Ball was well-known throughout the land. Kings, Queens, and royalty from around the world would attend for it was the only night and only place where my father would reveal his prophesies for the kingdoms.

So true were his prophesies, knights and warriors from lands all over would visit our castle to wait for a chance to hear his wisdom. Many who heeded his advice proceeded to become kings. He was known as the Kingmaker, and he was more powerful than kings, queens, prince, and princesses alone. With one vision, he could place a new ruler in place. With another, he could change kingdoms.

His castle was known as Castle Kingsbury for it was where Kings were buried, and new Kings rose.

Though of no royal blood himself, he was wealthier than some kings, and had his own army. But he doted on his daughter the most who would one day inherit his ability to see who should be king, and who should be buried. She could see through to the heart of a person, to see the goodness around them or the darkness. Like her father, she was visited upon by kings, queens, and even princesses and princes.

I twisted and turned in my sleep. The castle looked so familiar and the three princes who came to ask for my hand in the dream, looked familiar.
