“Cute accent. I’m Rosie.”

  “Aye. I know.”

He was enjoying every fucking minute of this. She was reacting as he expected and if I didn’t need to talk business, I’d have taken her back upstairs and shown her just what I thought of her cute girly flirting. “Babe. Clothes.”

She snapped out of her daydream and did something close to a skip as she passed him and went back up the stairs. I went back to rescue the bread toasting under the grill as he followed me into the kitchen.

“See your wee lassie has forgiven you.”

“I didn’t really give her a lot of choice. Sit.” Mac did as he was told, but only because there was food on offer. If I was giving a club order, I probably wouldn’t have been so talkative. “Anything change last night.”

“Nay.” Like some Laird of the manor, he reached for a knife and fork and delicately cut through a piece of bacon. In truth, I’d seen him operate a knife on a different occasion and he was just as delicate then, too. “Digit has located the funds that were withdrawn and confirmed they’re sitting in an account that has less to do with Mexican nationals than your dick of a wall building president.” He laughed at his own analogy.

“I’m going to have to smooth things over with them. I need you to stay with Rosie.”

  “Aye.”

“I thought you said you weren’t going anywhere,” Rosie chimed from the bottom of the stairs. I’d figured she might tiptoe down in an effort to glean information. I was going to have to keep an eye on her; she was sneaky and it wasn’t like I didn’t know this about her. The fact she’d only added a pair of yoga pants that were like a second skin and was still wearing the same t-shirt told me that she hadn’t hung around in her bedroom long and could have been listening for a while.

“I need to settle things down with the Mexicans so I can focus on Razor.”

“I’m coming.” Rosie sat opposite me and stole a piece of bacon from my plate rather than serving up her own.

“No. You’re not. You’re not anywhere near those guys. Ever. You’ll stay here in the house with Mac.”

Rosie looked at me, and then him, before I saw him give her that panty-dropping grin again from behind the moustache. “But who will protect you, Dec?”

Mac nearly choked on his food and failed miserably to hide his own laughter. “I like this lassie. A fooking keeper, Prez.”

“That smart mouth, at times it’s debatable. You finished, Mac?” I didn’t wait for him to answer. He knew where this was going and what was about to happen was not a spectator sport.

“I’ll be in the truck until it’s time to come back and babysit the wee un?”

“I do not need a babysitter!”

Mac was still laughing his ass off as he walked out the front door.

  “Don’t do that, Rosie.”

  “What?”

“Flirt and act all cute with my men.”

“Nice subject change,” she snapped, seemingly not interested in my request. “Let’s get back to how you’re going to meet with the Mexicans alone.”

“Can you do anything with that mouth besides bitch and argue? What’s it going to take to get you to listen?” I already knew what, but I thought I’d give her the chance to see sense herself.

“I can’t sit here while you go putting yourself in danger. I’ll go insane. We are better off sticking together.”

“Don’t confuse my politeness as a request. This isn’t a request and you’ll do as I tell you. This is club business.”

Rosie’s face dropped and while I knew what I’d said was true, being so blunt about it probably wasn’t necessary.

“Same fucking excuse,” she shouted. “Just a different club badge.”

  “Rosie—”

“Forget it. Do what the fuck you want, just like I will. I’ll be sure to have a blast here entertaining your brother.”

As she stormed off, I followed. “You’ll behave.”

“I’m not some trained circus monkey.” Rosie stomped up the stairs and I was hot on her heels. When she stormed through the bathroom door, I continued and didn’t stop until I had her pinned against the wall.

“I’m not trying to piss you off, but keeping you safe is more important than pandering to your mood swings.” She huffed and puffed and ignored me. “You’re going to stay here. Be good and not flirt. It’s bad enough that I have to leave you, but thinking about you showing Mac all the goodness I’ve got my hands on won’t help my concentration.” Rosie didn’t appear to be mellowing, so I placed my palm on her ass cheek and smoothed it down the material. “You gonna behave?”

There was no reply but for the slight change in her posture. She’d moved her ass into my hand, offering it to me. “I asked you a question, baby.”

In response, she forced me back and turned to face me. Rosie attacked me, her lips hitting mine, and her hands were frantically undoing the belt, button, and zipper on my pants. Her complete three-sixty had me harder than a flagpole and desperate to do something about it. “And I was looking forward to fucking compliance into you, beautiful.”

  But she had other ideas.

When she fell to her knees and sheathed her teeth behind her lips, I felt the blood rush towards my dick. In ten seconds flat, she was sucking and slurping hard enough to make my vision blur. She was phenomenal.

“Sweet fucking Jesus, slow down,” I begged, but she didn’t. That fucking girl blew my mind and in no time at all, blew me until my load was pumping down her throat. I was still semi-hard as I pulled my dick from her mouth, and ready to continue in another way.

Rosie stood up, smiled at me, and stepped back. “The problem with putting your foot down is that sooner or later you have to pick it back up again. Us females are masters at making you do that without you even realizing it. See, I can do more than argue and bitch with this mouth. You want to see those tricks, you best come home in one piece.” Leaving me wide-eyed with my dick hanging out, she strolled off, pretty much guaranteeing I would hurry the fuck home.

With two of my biggest badass brothers at my side, I waited at Creek Point for Miguel to arrive. Creek Point was the safest place possible to meet your enemy. It was completely visible all around so there was little to no possibility of a sneak attack.

As was customary, Miguel, President of the Death Rebels MC, rolled up with his two banner men. After parking their motorcycles, they walked our way, mirroring our poses. In an expected tradition, all of us pulled our weapons from our cuts and placed them on the ground in front of us. With a nod to begin, we all took a step over them, leaving all weapons behind us. This was as close to a gentlemanly discussion as we got.

“Came to put your mind at rest. The Carnals do not seek war, despite any word on the street.”

“What about retribution? Your incarcerated brother started that trouble. My man reports seeing him shank the old guy.”

Fucking hell! Razor had completely engineered everything. I even sent him to go and see my injured brother in hospital and report on the situation. It was now becoming clear just how much I’d been played.

“Assuming your word is true, there will be no retaliation for that. I want your word that our original relationship stands. No blood is shed between the Carnals and Death Rebels.”

  “Agreed.”

“I need to add the Sentinels to that agreement.”

Miguel laughed and the statuesque men beside him finally reacted. “Rumor mill is true then. You’ve claimed the Prez’s fallen angel.”

“Is that a yes?” I wasn’t here to discuss my love life and he would be the last person I’d ever do it with. “New business and territory lines are understood?”

  “Understood.”

“I have one other request,” I began.

“Consider it done. We find that motherfucker, you get first dibs on him.”

  “Appreciated.”

Miguel wasn’t done, though. “Understand this, though, Wolf: Razor nearly upset the natural balance of things, the long standing natur
al order between our clubs. I don’t feel you’ve dealt with him appropriately, or your new beating heart has developed feelings that mean you might consider letting him live, we will deal with him, agreement or not.”

  “Understood, but unnecessary.”

With no more to be said, we repeated our original steps in reverse all while keeping an eye on each other as we went.

Now that had been taken care of, I felt a little bit lighter. My club was no longer under threat of war. The Sentinels were safe from any remote ideas the Death Rebels may have had of takeover. And Razor was mine the minute I laid eyes on him.

When I got back to the house, I was greeted by the most bizarre sight ever. Rosie was on the floor, leaning on her elbows, her eyes glued to the TV, and Mac was pretty much the same, only stretched out on the couch above her. They were both so enthralled that Mac didn’t even hear me until I got close. “What’s going on?”

  “Jesus!” Rosie jumped.

I sat down in the chair next to them. “Some fucking protection detail you are.”

“Heard ya swing yer bollocks off yer bike at the end of the yard, ya dick.”

Neither of them turned to look at me. There was a gorgeous platinum blonde on the TV flying with dragons. “What’re we watching?”

Rosie hit the pause button and finally looked at me with daggers in her eyes. “You have got to be shitting me.”

“Apparently not,” Mac chimed in, also staring at me like I had two heads.

“I don’t think I can be with you. There is no room in my life for anyone who doesn’t love Game of Thrones.”

“Catch me up then.” I grabbed the popcorn bowl.

Rosie’s mouth fell open and Mac did the talking for her. “One does not get caught up like that on Thrones.”

“I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt,” she told me. “For leaving me, your penance will be a Thrones marathon.”

  “But you’ve already seen them.”

“Mac, I’ve decided I love you instead of him.”

I fucking froze at her words.

And so did Rosie when she realized what she’d let slip.

Mac wasn’t stupid; he knew exactly what had gone down. “Time for some shut eye. Be back on duty later.” He left without waiting for a reply.

“Okay, I’ll catch you up.” Oh yeah, she definitely knew what she’d done and the nervous rambling was on its way. “The blonde is Daenerys. She has about seven royal titles and is kick ass. She is also the mother of dragons. She’s my girl crush. In a Friends style agreement, she would be on my list.”

  “List?”

“List. People I get a pass for. People I’m allowed to sleep with.”

“No, still don’t get it. Didn’t have a lot of TV time growing up.”

Her face softened when she remembered why, but I ignored that. Hearing that my woman would possibly fuck a beautiful female caused more than a twinge in my dick. But hearing that she loved me sent a definite message to it. “Anyway, back to what you just said.”

Rosie seemed intent on ignoring that. “Her main enemy is Cersei Lannister. She’s a brother fucker, literally. They’re twins and had kids together. The kids were twisted and deranged. Basically, they’re evil and make everyone pay their debts, because a ‘Lannister always pays his debts’.”

I liked the logic behind the latter bit, the brother and sister getting it on, not so much.

“To be honest, her brother is hot. Maybe I should be putting him on the list, too.”

  “This explanation gonna take long?”

Rosie blew out a breath. “I’m prepared to keep talking until you forget my earlier mouth malfunction. The words, I mean. Not the bathroom stuff from earlier earlier. That was hot.”

I smiled hugely. This was just another side of Rosie that I loved. I’d always loved. She was the queen of trying to cute her way out of shit. “Baby, you love me?”

“And there it is. The exploded moment you can’t take back.”

  “You gonna answer?”

I hated to say it, but I was enjoying seeing her squirm. Her eyes flitted around trying to avoid mine until she sat up on crossed legs and then shrugged. “Any chance we can rewind time by about five minutes?”

“Do I look like the forgetting type of guy?”

  “Fuck.”

“Baby.” I was getting impatient. “Yes or no?”

  “Well… yeah.”

I didn’t hold back my grin. She was fucking stunning. A beautiful, intelligent women who knew her way around a motor and could hold her own, even against me, and now she was shy about admitting how she felt.

“I mean, I felt the connection when you first came back. Like some energy I didn’t even know was missing had come back to me. Then when we, you know, field fucked, well that kinda sealed the deal. The hardest part about being with Throttle was having to hide what I felt for you. Hearing your name sent him insane, and sometimes, when I wanted to shout it from the rooftops, I sensed it was a life and death thing to keep that feeling to myself.”

“Baby?” I said, deciding to finally get involved in the conversation.

  “Yeah?”

  “Come here.”

Rosie unfolded her legs and climbed up to straddle my lap in the chair. “I’ve always known I loved you.” I took her face in my hands. She was trying to play it cool, but there was no hiding what this meant to me. “Rosie Collins, you’re not conventional and you’re as hot as fuck, but it’s your integrity and loyalty that’s the biggest turn on. For as long as I can remember, you’ve always been home to me. Everything I’ve done has just been part of my journey to get back to you.” She had this dreamy look on her face, one I knew she’d deny if I pointed it out. “Now, about this morning. I fulfilled my part of the deal. I hurried home.”

  “You did.”

“I feel like a fuck of the finger clenching variety.”

“Oh, the best kind.” The one thing I’d noticed about being with Rosie was the spark I had. It was the same one she felt and when we were both together, it ignited. I didn’t need to go slow and soft, or treat her gently to prove my feelings. She was more in tune with fast and frantic. As long as our eyes stayed locked on each other, that was the main thing; that was the one thing that got us both off.

I fucked her over the arm of the couch, making sure to turn her round so I could watch her as she finished. I needed to let her know that I was all in her with her, that she was the one who truly knew me, and that when she looked into my eyes, they were the keys to my soul and that was her privilege and hers alone.

After that, I let her educate me about Game of Thrones.

“I’m getting cabin fever. I need air. Can we go for a ride?”

It took seven hours for her to feel cooped up and while I agreed with her, going out on the Harley was not on the table. “No, baby, we go out, I’ve gotta drag a couple of brothers with us, too.”

  “I’m going crazy!”

“We could go to the workshops and tinker with the Mustangs?” Her squeal of joy nearly burst my eardrums. “Really?” I asked. “I’ve been inside you, you’ve had some of my best moves. I’ve sat through hours of what can only be described as televised porn, and I mean that literally, and it’s the ‘Stangs that get that reaction.”

“That sounds like you got more good moves left.”

I raised my eyebrows and she didn’t say anymore. Instead, got up and headed to hallway where she began shoving her arms into a little sweater and her feet into her boots. When she noticed I hadn’t moved, she turned on me. “Why are you still sitting there? Wanna race me across the field?”

“No. The last time I nearly broke my neck. And we need to stay together. Things are still dangerous with Razor out there.”

She actually fucking pouted. “Well, move then, man. I am itching to tinker. At least I now understand why I was never allowed around any of Carnal’s cars when they came into the workshop.”

  “Yeah. Me.”

  It seemed she was happy
that mystery had been cleared up for her.

The walk across the field was educational. Rosie told me some of her secrets and how she learned about the hazards. It was great to hear her stories and it reinforced everything I already knew—that JP and Vix had given her a great life.

“How did this morning go?” I sensed her apprehension as she asked the question.

  “As I needed it to.”

She was itching for details that I wasn’t going to share. It wasn’t because it was club business. It was because there needed to be some boundaries. If the outside world thought she was inside the inner circle, she’d be a constant target. Letting everyone think she was just an old lady, plain and simple, would keep her safe. She’d still get the respect she deserved, but the latter was just sensible.

When we finally hit the tarmac, the security lights started to ping on as we got closer to tripping each one. “It’s quiet. I love this place when it’s closed.” Rosie smiled like she was truly at home here.

“I had a few more lights installed on the outskirts, too. Figured that if they came on, we’d see them from the house. A nice early warning system for the brothers if someone is where they shouldn’t be.”

“Hot and smart,” she mumbled and kissed me before remembering about the metal attraction concealed on the other side of the large shutter doors. “What am I allowed to do?”

“Whatever you want.” The gleam in her eyes was like a kid seeing a magic trick for the first time. All the stuff that took place here day to day was her nirvana.

I’d rung ahead and told my brothers that we were coming over and as we got closer, they’d discreetly backed out of sight, with only one of them popping his head round the door before leaving us to it. Rosie went to work on one that was on the floor and already had a protective blanket over the wing. The car she’d picked already had the engine in place. It was just a matter of connecting up the loose hoses and cables. I moved to one just behind her that was up on a ramp and needed some bodywork completing on the wheel arch. The garage was completely silent apart from the sound of a screwdriver connecting with other bits of metal or the ticking of a ratchet tightening. Every now and then I’d hear her have a conversation with herself before giving herself kudos for a job well done. It was so fucking cute.
