Altair Sagal released a breath he’d been unaware he was holding once the doors to the elevator slid shut, blocking his view of the sexy attorney with the ease of a brick wall. Normally a single glance at a woman did nothing for him more than Yes, she is hot. This one, however—this Roz, as the older gentleman and the scum asshole had called her—it was like all he could think of was shoving that tight skirt of hers up over that bubble butt and fucking her until they both passed out from exhaustion.

Her light gray suit conformed around her fit body like a wet dream. No, it wasn’t more than a proper work outfit, but to him—on her—it was sex, pure and simple. Those damn long legs of hers, toned to perfection, carried her as a woman with purpose.

He scowled when he spied the jackass who had bothered her. Something about him was off. Altair didn’t know what, but it was something. The urge to protect had swarmed over him.

I am not even sure how I knew there was something going on in there. Something just told me to get in there and do it fast.

He got back to work. Replacing windows wasn’t anything exciting to many but, personally, he loved watching and being part of a building as it came to life—or back to life, in this one’s case. The old courthouse had been renovated a while ago but the contractors had supplied some shoddy windows. He’d been asked to come in and replace them.

At the end of his work day, he undid his tool belt and draped it over his shoulder. Readjusting the ball cap on his head, he took three steps then froze. The tingling zipping up and down his spine told him all he needed to know. She was behind him.

He pivoted and found his senses had been spot on. She stood there, her gray suit just as pristine as it had been earlier in the day. He, on the other hand, was sweaty and dirty.

She flowed toward him in the manner with which water flows over rocks—surely and effortlessly. She gave a small shake of her head while she assessed him.

“I’m Roz.” She offered her hand.

Wiping his own off on his pant leg first, he accepted. “Altair.”

Her grip was strong and warm. Spikes rocketed through him and, from her expression, he could tell that she was experiencing the same thing. From the corner of his eyes he swore he saw some lightning but when he turned to see, the sky was still blue outside.

She released him and stared, eyes wide and pupils dilated. His cock hardened in his jeans. He’d never wanted to kiss a woman so much in his life. Curving his fingers into his palm, he glued himself to the spot.

“I wanted to thank you for what you did today.”

  “It was nothing.”

“Maybe not to you, but it was to me. Can I buy you dinner as a thank you? Or, do you have a Mrs. Altair waiting for you?” She pursed her lips. “Or Mr.?”

He laughed. “No Mr. waiting for me. Never will be. Nor is there a Mrs.—or anyone angling to be.”

Her smile should have come with a warning label. If his cock got any harder, it would punch free of the denim struggling to contain it.

“So then dinner is a yes?” She moved closer to him, increasing the need in his gut.

  “That is not necessary.”

“I think it is.” Another two steps. “Very much so.”

He remained rooted in place. “Why?”

“Because I think until I get you out of my system, I am going to be focusing on you and not my work.”

  “Then why offer dinner?”

Her full lips twitched up again. “I thought my suggesting a quick fuck behind the scaffolding might sound a bit crude.”

A chuckle emerged from him as he crossed his arms. “Are you sure? It may just do the trick.”

Fire flashed in her eyes matching the flames in his blood. Her tongue peeked out from her lips, just enough to tantalize him more. Currently, he was sure everything about her was a temptation.

She reached up and touched the leather of his tool belt. There was knowing in her gaze—the knowledge a woman has when the man she wants is on the hook—and he was—and not just the hook but the line and sinker as well.

“Very well. How about a fuck behind the scaffolding?”

He lowered his head. “Nothing about a quick one this time?”

She nibbled on her lower lip. “I’m hoping you don’t know the meaning of quick.”

Lord, he was seconds away from dragging her out of here. That was, if he made it past the nearest wall to fuck her against. This was insane. He didn’t do this, especially with an attorney in her place of work.

“I do, but I promise our encounter will not be.”

“My office is just down the street.”

  “So no scaffolding?”

“I can offer you a desk. And a couch.” She splayed her fingers across his chest. “Also a chair or two.”

He finally gave in and touched her. Brushing his hand along the side of her face until he reached the nape of her neck, he noticed she closed her eyes and leaned into his caress. He tangled his fingers in her hair, messing up her neat bun. “That sounds like a good start.”

This time he knew he saw flashes of lightning. They skated along his skin in hues of white, pink, blue and pale yellow. He would worry about that later.

“Let’s go then,” she murmured, opening her eyes.

They walked the two blocks side by side, not touching, and the tension between them never lowered. In fact, it grew with each passing second. He kept his distance from her in the stairwell, knowing once he got to touch her again, he wasn’t stopping until they were both sated. Plus, walking up behind her wasn’t at all a bad view.

“Back again, Roz? I thought you were going home for the night.” The woman who spoke was shoving things into her bag.

“You know me, Mellie. I never quit.”

“You should get out more,” she said with a smile. “Have a nice dinner and a date. You can’t work all the time.”

  “Night, Mellie.”

“Night.” The woman shook her head and he realized it was a common discussion for them to have.

He followed Roz into her office and as she shut the door behind him, he dropped his tool belt to the floor. Facing her, he hooked his thumbs in his belt loops. “She did not seem all that surprised to see you here.”

“I work long hours,” she said, putting her briefcase on her desk. “Before you ask, no I don’t bring guys here to fuck.”

She perched on the edge of her desk, crossing her legs. He looked at her then around the room. The frosted windows kept it private but he wasn’t sure how much the sound carried. Then she unfastened the first button on her suit and he didn’t give a damn how it carried.

A possessive rumble escaped him as he grabbed her upper arms, her flesh singeing his palms. “You have one chance. Say no and I will find a way to walk out of your office, right now.” His voice sounded like distant thunder.

She dragged her finger along his lower lip. “What happens if I say yes?”

He nipped the tip as his cock jerked in his jeans. “I fuck you. Long. Hard. Until that perfect face and body are drenched in sweat and you’re unable to speak. Until I know when I see you walking in the courthouse tomorrow, your slow steps will be because you are still feeling my thick cock spearing between your legs.”

Her eyes widened before a come-hither smile tilted her mouth. She moved her touch to the collar of his shirt. “So does this happen with clothes on? Or were you planning on undressing me?”

He was going to have a damn imprint of his jeans along his cock. “Do you have another shirt in here?”

  “I have another of everything.”

That’s all he needed to hear—she would be using them. With little effort, he ripped open her shirt, buttons scattering across the dark wood top and onto the floor of her office. A pale green bra held breasts he couldn’t wait to have in his mouth.
