NuNu, sat up in bed, head against the headboard rubbing her stomach watching 106 & Park on BET as she waited for Leah to wake up. Leah had been sleeping for the past four hours, sleeping so hard that she never heard when NuNu called Tyson to take her to the pharmacy to get a pregnancy test. NuNu was anxious to know if Leah was pregnant, she wanted to wake her up to pee on the stick. However, she decided to let her sleep and wait for her to wake up on her own. Usher’s You Got It Bad came on and NuNu couldn't help but to turn it up because it was her song, she loved her some Usher. Hearing the video caused Leah to wake up. Blinking her eyes slowly as she rubbed them, she sat up in bed leaning her head on NuNu’s shoulder.
“It's a test on the dresser, go pee on it now,” NuNu said with authority.
Leah’s eyes pierced hers. NuNu was on it. She didn’t waste any time now that Leah was up. She had to know.
“Bitch where the hell you get a test from?” Leah asked as her eyes landed on the box sitting on the dresser.
“Girl, just get yo ass up and go pee on it cause I need to know and so the hell do you, GO!”
Leah got up from the bed, rolling her eyes as she walked over to the dresser to get the box. She snatched the box off the dresser, read the back of it and then turned to face NuNu.
“Let's just get one thing straight heffa, you run Tyson and that baby in your stomach, NOT me.”
“Girl just go pee on the fucking stick,” NuNu said dismissively.
Leah went to the bathroom opening the box along the way. She was so nervous that she was shaking as she sat on the toilet. She began urinating on the stick. I’ve ruined my life, she thought as she finished. Leah placed the stick on the box, while she finished her business on the toilet. She got up and washed her hands and dried them. Leah looked down at the stick and saw two lines appear. Her hands instantly went to her mouth, she was flabbergasted. She looked in the mirror and Mandy’s image appeared. Her eyes were boring into Leah’s. Leah snapped her eyes shut and then she heard a voice.
“YOU TOOK MY BABY.”
Leah stumbled back and fell to the floor. She put her hands to her ears and screamed.
“Nooooo.”
NuNu heard the scream and barged into the bathroom. She noticed Leah on the floor and headed straight to her.
“Leah, what’s wrong?” NuNu asked.
Leah quickly shook off the paranoia. She couldn’t tell NuNu the whole truth, so she opted for telling her part of it.
“Nu, I’m pregnant. What am I going to do? What am I going to do?” Leah wailed.
NuNu squatted down, not wanting to get on the floor because she knew she wouldn’t be able to get back up. She rubbed the back of Leah’s back as she tried to soothe her.
“Shhh, it’s okay boo, remember what you told me, I got you and you got this.”
Leah nodded. She closed her eyes and sighed. Only if NuNu knew it was more things that scared Leah than the fact of knowing that she was pregnant.
