“You’re always welcome to come visit us, especially now that I’ve renovated my dad’s house. There’s plenty of room.”

“Trust me. I’ll be there.” Mel smiled at Katie and looked up at Alex who held her close with his arm slung around her shoulders.

Evan moved his mouth closer to Katie’s ear. “You know we’re playing Vegas next month. How about we get hitched? You could invite Mel.” He waggled his brows when he pulled his head back to look at her face.

She smiled and shook her head. Evan had gotten used to it. He’d asked her at least five times already.

“I’ve told you, you’re too young for all that.”

“I’ll be twenty-three by then. That makes me older than you when you got married.”

“Well, babe, that’s different. I was knocked up.” She cocked her head still smiling.

Evan grinned, making her squeal as he lifted her off her feet and slung her over his shoulder, landing a slap on her backside as he exited the room with her. Laughter and applause rang through his ears.

“Looks like we’re going to have to work on that then, angel.”
