“Ok, still not going to help you.” She laughed. “You go first.”

He moved a pawn to start the game. He watched as El moved her Knight thinking to himself that was a bold move possibly a mistake for, she could block in her pawn.

The game lasted for hours; they had just finished up right before mid-day meal. El had won; he was still baffled as to how she beat him again as they walked on to the balcony. He enjoyed spending the morning with her. This place was beginning to feel like home to him; he prayed to the stars he wouldn’t ever have to leave for good.

Taking their seats at the table, it was a beautiful day today. El was enjoying the time they were outside. She quickly ate the food placed before her. Yawning, she was getting sleepy if one battle could take this much out of them, then what would a whole army do to them? She just knew they had to be ready before the enemy enters their borders. The way that Giant talked, their time was limited, as to when the enemy may arrive. She excused herself. Seeing her mother nod for, Ivoka had a mouth full of food. She got up from the table, and walked off, headed for her room.

Zamian took El’s lead. He excused himself as well. The Queen nodded, due to her mouth was still full of food. He got up, walked off to head for his room. He assumed she was going to take a nap, which was a great idea; he planned to do the same. They need to recharge before they start there training again.

El had just arrived at her room, as she opened the door, she walked in checking everywhere to ensure no one was lurking in the shadows, satisfied she walked over and locked the door. She headed straight for her bed, as she climbed onto her bed, fluffed up her pillow before grabbing the throw blanket that was at the foot of her bed, she covered up while laying her head down on her pillow; she closed her eyes drifting off to sleep.

As Zamian walked into his room, he went over to his bed. He laid down on top; it wasn’t long before he was fast asleep.

EL WOKE UP THE NEXT morning. She couldn’t believe she had slept through the evening meal the night before. She was way more tired than she had thought. She climbed out of bed, walked over, gotten dressed in her armor; after the battle with the Giants, she decided to wear it full time, never knowing when danger will be at the doorstep, plus her body needed to get used to her wearing it all the time. It was light, however, after several hours of wearing it, even this light armor got heavy.

Thinking about the Giants, El felt that they had aimlessly lost their lives due to being misguided by a hooded creature that worked for the Magnus Shadowmend. The only good that came from that battle was it allowed her to see what areas she needed to improve on before going into a big fight.

Arriving at the training area, Zamian was standing in the middle of the arena, waiting on her. She walked over to him.

“Aye, sleepyhead is awake.” He laughed.

“Ha, ha, you're so funny. I was tired.”

“I don’t blame you. I, too, just arrived myself.”

El hit him on the arm, “You make fun of me, and you’re the same as myself.”

  “Yeah, but I got you.”

“That you did, so what are we working on today?”

“Well, I thought we would work on long term usages. You will be sending your magic into the air for long periods. Just make sure you don’t freeze any birds.” He laughed.

“You’re just on a roll today, aren’t you?”

“Awe, don’t be cross, just having a bit of fun.”

  “Yeah, at my expense.”

“I am sure one day you’ll be doing it to me. Like when we play chess.”

“Ok, maybe you’re right.” She smiled at him. She was glad he was around; she hoped he would stay. “Which one you want me to start with first?”

  “How about your energy blast.”

“Ok, will do.” Looking into the sky to make sure the way was clear, she released her magic. “How long you want me to do this for?”

“Well, I figured we do it for several minutes or more like the length of time it took to freeze the giants.”

“Enough I think you did rather well holding that stream of magic.”

“Yeah, it is different when you can relax and use your magic then when you are scared to death and freaking out when using your magic.”

“True, there is no real way to prepare you for that. It is something you will have to learn that in battle, I am afraid.”

“You know what, let’s call it a day. I think we have done a lot in the last couple of months we should have some time to ourselves. I enjoyed it yesterday, let’s walk and enjoy our surroundings. I don’t know about you, but I am glad to be back here.”

“I know how you feel. I, too, missed this place. I would love to spend the day with you. I have something I want to discuss with you anyway. I thought we should gather some magic-users to create our own army. Call them the Dragon Squad.”
