Complications

She was a horny wreck. Mel always did that to her. She didn’t know if she’d be able to keep up the no sex part of the deal. Surely, Mel would acquiesce, right? Surely, she wanted Susan as desperately as Susan wanted her?

Susan stripped off her clothes and put them in the laundry hamper. She walked, naked, to her bedroom, aware of every breath of air touching every inch of her body. Her body was one giant erogenous zone and she needed someone to take care of it. But there was no one. Not for now, anyway.

She lay on her bed, bent her knees, and let her legs fall open. She moved her hand down between her legs. She was so wet thanks to Mel. She closed her eyes and imagined it was Mel’s fingers playing over her slick clit. She imagined it was Mel stroking her deep inside.

Her breathing got heavy, and she wished she had one of Mel’s toys to play with. She wished Mel was watching her pussy swallow her monster dong. Her fingers weren’t doing the trick.

She got out of bed and grabbed the toy she’d used on Mel. She turned it on and slipped it inside.

“Oh, fuck,” she said. The toy felt so good moving around inside her. She turned on the clit stimulator and that was all it took. Her world split into a million pieces as she climaxed over and over again.

She was panting when she was through coming. She’d needed that. She lay back, exhausted, closed her eyes, and fell into a deep sleep.

She woke up the next day at noon and hurried to shower and shave and get dressed for work. She showed up right at one, with no time to spare.

  “You okay?” the bartender asked.

“Yeah, I just thought I was going to be late.”

“Oh, well, you just made it.”

  “Yeah, I know.”

The place was jumping, and Susan waitressed all day. Everyone was in a good mood. Must have been because it was Friday, she reasoned. She’d only been working a couple of hours when Joey and Mel walked in.

“Hey, you two,” Susan said. “You’re awfully early.”

“Brenda let us go early,” Joey said.

  “That was nice of her.”

“No doubt. Can we get a pitcher?” Mel said.

  “Coming right up.”

When Susan came back with the pitcher, Mel couldn’t help but notice a radiance about her.

“You look really good today,” she said.

“Thanks. It’s a good day. Nice and busy. Speaking of which, I’d better get back to it.”

“Right on. Don’t work too hard.”

Susan smiled at her before she walked off.

She came back as often as she could to check on them. Mel looked so good that afternoon, and Susan was drawn to her.

“I don’t want to work,” she said. “I want to sit here with you two.”

“Well, you’re welcome to join us once you’re off work,” Joey said.

“I can’t,” Susan said with a pout. “I need to take care of Lucinda.”

“So, what happens if you’re a little late?”

  “I’m not that way.”

  “Fair enough,” Joey said.

Susan looked over at Mel who was focused on her beer glass. She clearly didn’t care if Susan joined them or not, so she felt better when seven o’clock rolled around and she could leave.

She walked over to their booth.

“I’m gonna get going,” she said.

“We were just leaving, too,” Joey said.

“Let me walk you out to your car,” Mel said.

  “Sure. That would be great.”

She took Mel’s hand and went out the back door. They got to her car and she turned to find Mel inches from her.

“Good luck with Lucinda tonight,” Mel said.

“Thanks,” Susan said. Though, as much as she hated to admit it, her mind was more on Dorinda than Lucinda.

“I hope she has a pain free night.”

“Me, too. I hate to see her in pain.”

“Well, I guess I should let you go now,” Mel said.

  “Yeah, I should get going.”

Mel leaned in and kissed her. It was soft and tender and Susan felt it to her core.

  “I’ll see you tomorrow?”

  “Yeah.”

“Come over when you wake up. I’ll be waiting.”

  “Okay. I’ll see you then.”

She was trembling when she got in her car. She took a deep breath before she started it. She was crazy about Mel. She made her feel things no one had made her feel before. But Dorinda had changed and deserved a shot. She drove to Lucinda’s house with butterflies in her stomach. She wanted to kiss Dorinda again now that she was here. But her first priority was to Lucinda, she reminded herself. That was the reason this whole thing had started.

Susan let herself in and crossed the room to Lucinda. She was lying there staring into space.

“Susan? Is that you?” Dorinda called.

“Yeah. It’s me.” She couldn’t stop staring at Lucinda. She watched her chest. It rose and fell so she knew she was breathing. But she looked completely out of it.

Dorinda walked up behind Susan and wrapped her arms around her.

  “How you doin’?” she said.

“More importantly, how’s Lucinda?” Susan said. “She looks out of it.”

“Oh, she was in a lot of pain a little while ago. I gave her a pill. I figure she’s stoned out of her gourd now and will be fast asleep soon.”

“Dorinda, you’re careful not to overmedicate her, aren’t you?”

“Of course.” Dorinda let go of Susan. “What kind of question is that?”

“I don’t know. I guess I just hate to see her like this.”

“Would you rather see her in pain?”

“No. But I’d rather have her lucid. So I can interact with her.”

  “Well, I’m lucid.” Dorinda grinned.

“Yeah, but you’re not going to die in the next six months,” Susan whispered.

  “You never know.”

  “Don’t be morbid.”

Dorinda put her arms around Susan’s waist and pulled her close.

“So, we have nothing to do now until she comes to. What do you say we make good use of our time?”

“That sounds like a good idea.”

“Why don’t we go down the hall to my room? I’d love to have my way with you.”

“No sex,” Susan said rather abruptly.

  “Huh?”

“That’s one of the rules. I can date you both but can’t have sex with either of you.”

“That’s hardly fair,” Dorinda said. “We can have sex and just tell her we’re not.”

  Susan pulled away.

“No,” she said. “She took it really well overall, this business of sharing. All she asked was that I not have sex with either of you.”

“You really expect me to believe she’s not doing you?”

“Doing me?” Susan said. “We are not having sex, if that’s what you’re so crudely implying. There have to be rules. That’s one of them.”

“What are the others?” Dorinda plopped herself down on the love seat.

“The only other big one is that since I’m seeing other people, you can see other people, too.”

“Well, there you go. I don’t want to see other people. I only want to see you. Clearly, if she wants to see others it should make you think twice about her.”

“Please, Dorinda. When I’m with her, we don’t talk about you. When I’m with you, I’d rather not talk about her.”

“Fair enough.” She patted the love seat next to her. “Come on. Sit.”

Susan sat next to Dorinda. She smelled clean and spicy. It was a good smell.

“Are you wearing a new perfume?” Susan said.

  “I am.”

  “It smells good.”

“Thanks. Are you wearing perfume?” Dorinda said.

“No. I forgot to put it on this morning.”

  Dorinda nuzzled Susan’s neck.

“You still smell good,” she said.

She kissed up her neck to her cheek and finally stopped with her lips just millimeters from Susan’s.

Susan felt the butterflies fluttering fast and hard in her stomach. Her heart was thumping. She wanted Dorinda to kiss her and she wanted it bad. Dorinda finally lowered her lips and claimed Susan’s in a tender kiss. Susan wanted more. Dorinda seemed happy to provide it.

Dorinda pressed hard into Susan’s lips then and ran her tongue over them. Susan opened her mouth to let Dorinda in. Their tongues frolicked together, and Susan felt herself grow wet.

They kissed like that forever. Dorinda eased Susan back on the love seat and climbed on top of her. Their kissing intensified. Soon, Susan thought she would explode. She tried to push Dorinda off of her.

“Huh?” Dorinda said, as if coming out of a trance. “What gives?”

“You should get off of me,” Susan said. “Please.”

“No way, Sus. I’m enjoying myself too much.”

Dorinda kissed Susan so hard on the mouth, Susan was afraid she’d bruised her lips. She squirmed under her, trying to get out. She was hot and bothered and needed to stop before she broke her promise to Mel.

Dorinda slid her hand between their bodies and cupped Susan’s breast. She let out a moan in Susan’s mouth. Susan found strength somewhere and was able to push Dorinda off.

“What? Come on. We’re just getting warmed up.”

“I think I should go,” Susan said and stood.

“Aw, come on. I’m sorry I got carried away. It’s just that you’re so beautiful and I’ve missed you so much.”

“I get it, Dorinda. You are driving me crazy. So crazy I was practically ready to break the rules. But I can’t. I owe that to both of you.”

“I still don’t get it. Sex is part of dating.”

“How do you feel about me sleeping with her?”

“That thought makes me want to hurt something,” Dorinda said.

  “See?”

“So don’t sleep with her. Sleep with me.”

“That’s cheating and I won’t do that. Please, don’t ask me to again.”

  “Okay. I won’t.”

“Thanks. Now I think it’s time for me to leave.”

“Can I walk you to your car?”

“No. You stay here in case Lucinda needs you. I’ll see you tomorrow night.”

Susan didn’t know what to feel as she drove home. She wondered if she had what it took to date two women. But she was bound and determined to try. She needed to see who she truly wanted to be with, and this was the only way to find out.

  CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

Mel woke early Saturday morning. She was excited about her day with Susan. She planned to have her surfing on her knees by day’s end. She also planned to leave her absolutely exhausted for her date with Dorinda that night. Mel smiled to herself over her coffee. Maybe she wasn’t playing completely fair, but she wanted Susan for her own. End of story.

At ten thirty there was a knock on her door.

  “Come in,” Mel called.

Susan came walking in wearing her swimsuit and wrap. She looked stunning, even though she looked like she’d just woken up. How could someone look that good when they just woke up?

Mel stood and kissed her on the cheek.

  “Want some coffee?” she said.

  “Please.”

“What are you doing up so early?” Mel said.

“I don’t know. I woke up and decided I may as well head over rather than try to sleep some more. I want to learn to surf on my knees today. You promised.”

“I did. And I will teach you. It’s gonna be a little trickier than just lying down.”

  “I figured.”

“So, plan to wipe out quite a bit today.”

“Oh, ye of little faith.” Susan laughed. “I plan to nail it the first time.”

Mel laughed with her. It was nice and easy to be with Susan. It was hard to remember she wasn’t hers anymore.

  “We’ll see,” she said.

They each had another cup of coffee.

“How was your night?” Mel said.

  “Huh? What? Why?”

“Huh? You know. How was Lucinda?”

“Oh, she was out of it. She’d had a bad day and Dorinda had just given her her meds when I got there. She was basically stoned.”

“Ah.” Mel wanted to ask how things had gone with Dorinda, but she knew, as curious as she was, that she really didn’t want to know.

“Okay.” She gathered their coffee cups and put them in the sink. “You ready?”

  “Heck yeah.”

“I love how excited you are.”

“I want to learn to surf. You’re the best teacher, I’m sure.”

“I don’t know,” Mel said. “Joey might be the best, but I’d rather teach you.”

“I’d rather you teach me, too.”

They parked at The Shack and Mel carried the board as they crossed the beach to the water. There was a lone figure out bobbing in it.

“Hey,” Mel said. “I wonder if that’s Joey.”

  “Did you see her truck?”

“I wasn’t looking for it,” Mel said. She didn’t pay any attention to anything but Susan when she was with her. “Let’s paddle out and see if it’s her.”

They got in the water and Mel helped Susan lie on the board. They made their way out to the figure, and sure enough, it was Joey.

“How are the waves today?” Mel asked.

  “So far, so good.”

“Right on. We’re going to teach Susan how to surf on her knees today.”

“Excellent. She’ll be needing her own surfboard soon.”

  They all laughed.

“I hope so,” Susan said. “So far, I love surfing.”

“Don’t we all?” Joey said. “Hey, it was good seeing you two, but I’ve got to get home. DJ has a birthday party I need to take him to. You two have fun.”

They watched as she paddled in to shore.

“Okay,” Mel said. “First thing we need to do is get you on your knees.”

  “Sounds dirty,” Susan said.

“Funny,” Mel said. “Now, come on. I’ll hold the board. You just pull your knees under yourself.”

Susan struggled to maintain her balance and fell over into the water. She surfaced and spit out water.

“This is not as easy as it seems. Either that or I’m really lame.”

“That’s why you’re not standing yet. It’s not that easy. Now, come on. Let’s try again.”

Mel held the board and Susan climbed on it.

“Now, easy, easy. One knee at a time under you.”

Susan was shaking as she tried to maintain her balance. Mel held as tightly as she could, but once again, Susan fell over.

They repeated this routine five more times until Susan managed to get her knees under herself and maintain her balance.

“Now,” Mel said. “You’re going to have to lean forward and put your hands in to paddle. Can you do that? Just practice. I’m holding the board.”

Susan leaned forward and dipped her hands in the water. When Mel felt confident she could do it and stay on the board, she steered them deeper to where the waves were forming.

  “Are you ready?” Mel said.

“As ready as I’ll ever be.”

“Okay. Here comes a wave.” Mel gently pushed the board and yelled, “Paddle.”

Susan was off. She was paddling and she looked like she was going to catch the wave when suddenly, she seemed to lose all hope and wiped out. She surfaced and Mel swam over to her.

  “Are you okay?”

“Yep. That was my first try. I’ll get this down.”

Mel knew there would be more wipeouts before there was a perfect ride, but she didn’t mind. It worked well for her plans to wear Susan out for the night.

Susan was wearing out after about an hour.

“You want to call it quits?” Mel said.

“Heck no. I’ve got this. Trust me.”

&nbs
p; “Okay. But we can always take a break.”

“But I’m so close, Mel. So very close. I can feel it.”

“Okay. We’ll give it another shot.”

They assumed their positions and along came a perfect wave. Mel gave Susan a slight shove.

  “Paddle,” she called after her.

Susan paddled and Mel watched as Susan gripped the sides of the board and rode the wave in like a pro. She dragged the board back out to where Mel was waiting. She wrapped her arms around Mel’s neck.

“That was so much fun!” she said.

“I’m glad.” Mel gave her a salty kiss. “That was an excellent ride.”

“Oh, my God. I want to do it again.”

“Okay then. Let’s do it again.”

Susan wiped out a few more times, but she had more successful rides than wipeouts, so they considered it a successful day.

It was one thirty when Mel finally claimed starvation.

“You ready to call it a day?”

“Oh, man. Do I have to?”

“I’m starving. You’ve got to be hungry, too, with all the work you’re doing.”

  “Wow. I guess I am. I hadn’t even noticed.”

“So, let’s go grab some food.”

A hard day on the board and a big lunch should really wipe her out, Mel thought. She’s going to be too tired to be very good company tonight. The thought made her smile.

  “What?” Susan said.

  “What what?”

“You’ve got a shit-eating grin on your face. What’s that about?”

“Nothing. I’ve just really enjoyed today.”

  “Yeah. It’s been fun.”

They got to The Shack and each ordered a double cheeseburger.

“Seriously? How do you keep your figure?” Mel said.

  “I’m lucky. I have a great metabolism.”

“Well, I’m glad you can eat what you like. That’s great.”

They ate and laughed about their day.

“You really are a natural at surfing, babe,” Mel said.

“Thanks. It’s a lot of fun. When do you think I’ll be able to stand?”

“A couple more lessons, that’s for sure.”

  “Okay. If you insist.”

  “I do.”

They finished lunch and walked back out to Mel’s van. Mel pressed Susan against it and kissed her.
