He went back inside and closed the door, pulling the curtains shut. Stripping off his clothes, he wandered into their bathroom. Her eyes lifted to him as he walked in and her heart shuddered beating faster as her eyes ran over his firm muscular frame.

“Is there room for one more?” he asked, raising both his eyebrows comically at her.

“Always,” she replied, giving him a tender smile. He grimaced as he climbed into the bubble-filled water slowly.

“Why do you always have it so hot?” he moaned and she laughed as she pulled him to her.

“I like it steamy,” she whispered, lifting her eyes to his, he fell head first into them. His hand clasping around the back of her head he kissed her tenderly and with such love that he thought his heart would explode. His magic surged throughout him and she felt it too, gasping as she broke away from him, her body tingling from head to toe, she gazed at him seductively.

“My King,” she then whispered, arching an eyebrow at him her mouth aching to kiss him again. His hands grasped at her body and as he pulled her on top, the water gushed out over the top, covering the floor with bubbles. She laughed as they slipped and slid and then as his mouth met hers, they kissed hard and passionately.

He stared at the Crystal, and then glanced towards his wife and she smiled warmly at him, he returned her smile. He was back where he had stood all those months ago when he had taken the Ardor Crystal and set in play the prophecy. He could never have imagined that fateful day would have led to all of this. Many of his people had died, and he felt saddened in his heart by that, but knowing that he had saved thousands more helped to heal that wound. They had only been back in their castle a week he had had no trouble from the people, they had settled back in as if they had never left. He had returned those who had wanted back to earth and as promised, he had shut down that portal. He had made a start on building a new village in the place of Gemini’s Fortress, and they had aptly named it simply, Fortress.

Reaching forward he placed his hands on the Crystal and unlike before, this time he knew it was the right thing to do. Within seven to ten days, the boundary that separated his two Kingdoms would be gone, and the old and the new would unite. Times ahead would be difficult, he knew that it was going to take time for people to adjust to their new freedom, and both Kingdoms would need time to integrate with each other.

He breathed deep. He always knew he was more than just a carpenter, a woodsman. He was a King and, he glanced back down to Arweyn and his heart shook, he had the most beautiful and intelligent best friend and wife to rule alongside him. He lifted the Crystal from its holding device and placed it into the sack that Santon the Faerling held. It was going back to Sarconia where it would remain in the care of the Faerlings, just in case there was ever a time that they would need it again. Kainan jumped down off the pedestal, he hugged his mother, father, and then his brother.

“This is the beginning of our new Empire my son,” his father said proudly, now leaning on a staff for support. Kainan nodded, he thought of the Sorceress and he scowled, the search for her had begun, and it would continue until she was found and destroyed.

“Indeed it is father and one which I shall defend to the end.”
