His genuine smile gave the old phrase meaning as he said, “I serve at the pleasure of the Queen, Your Majesty.”

  Chapter Forty- Three

  Aaron

The day had been long, but we were finally in the bed of the house we’d rented in Charleston. Sophia would be spending a great deal of time down here in the coming weeks, and I wanted her in a secure location we could control.

Tonight we’d run everyone off except a small crew of our most trusted guards, and even those men and women were at the outskirts of the property to keep watch. Tonight I would officially make Sophia my wife and My Queen.

I now understood why Mabel and Titania wanted the marriage consummated before today’s ceremony, as it made Raul’s magic dig in tighter until we glowed on stage as one being instead of two. However, tonight was about us. Not the Swans, the Dragons, or anyone else. It was about the two of us joining together for eternity, mated in every way.

After years without touch, most of the time Sophia craved it, needed it like she needed her next breath, but as we walked into house and took a tour, I could tell she needed some time alone. I kissed her forehead as I pulled her into a hug, and my heart smiled as her tiny arms went around my shoulders and she was happy for my embrace even while needing some time to herself.

“Why don’t you get the strawberries out of the refrigerator and take a long bath while I walk the perimeter and talk to the guards.”

  “You don’t think we’re safe?”

“I know we’re safe. The house was rented in the name of a corporation I own but am not known to be affiliated with, and we were careful no one followed us here. Even if they did, you’ve successfully terrified everyone against coming after you, I believe.”

  “Then why—”

I put my finger to her mouth and said, “Shh. Go take a bath, or a shower if you prefer. Chill out a while, process the day, and then be ready for me to keep you awake past dawn.”

When I finally got out of the tub and dried off, I chose one of Aaron’s t-shirts. He liked seeing and smelling me in his clothes, and I wanted to thank him for understanding I needed some time to myself. I love him with all of my heart, but he’d been right about my needing some time to process the millions of emotions, thoughts, and responsibilities floating through my head.

Today had been demanding and full of emotion, with my father doing nice and thoughtful things, and huge transfers of energy I hadn’t been expecting. I could literally feel the weight of every Swan on my shoulders now. I could pull energy from them all, a tiny amount they’d likely never miss, if I needed to, but the combined energy I’d receive would be huge.

I knew Aaron felt it, too, and it occurred to me his reign as King only included a few people, not tens of thousands, and this was a new experience for him, as well. Sure, he’d been responsible for an entire race, and was treated as an important King by the other races, but now he had so many more people looking up to him.

Aaron’s shirt came to just below my knees, but I still added some pretty lacy panties underneath before I went to find him.

He was stretched out on the sofa in jeans and no shirt, waiting for me. One look at him, sprawled out and comfortable as if he owned the place, had anticipation simmering in my blood.

“Take the shirt off,” he said, the Dragon looking through his eyes more than normal.

Suddenly playful, I cocked my hip to the side, put my hand on it, and said, “Isn’t that your job?”

Before I’d drawn the next breath, the t-shirt was lying in shreds at my feet and Aaron stood a foot from me as I watched his razor-sharp dragon claws slowly absorb back into his fingers.

I wanted to say, “Nice trick,” but my heart was in my throat as I realized he hadn’t left a single scratch on me.

He touched my lips and then rubbed the bottom one, his eyes so focused on me there was no doubt I was his prey for the moment.

Our gazes locked as he pulled the ponytail holder out of my hair, ran his hands through it a few times, and then pulled me to him as his hands slid down my back, under the waistband of my lacy panties, and cupped my bottom.

My nipples pushed into the hard wall of him, and I kissed his chest, leaning my head sideways to lick his nipple, and then gasped as scraps of my panties floated to the floor. I looked up, my gaze met Aaron’s again, and I was stunned by the look of possessive sensuality on his face, full of promise — and possibly a little warning — of what the night would bring.

He let me smell his arousal, the rich musk of alpha-male desire, and I closed my eyes and inhaled.

Without warning he stepped to the side, bent me over the padded arm of a chair, and drove his fingers into me. “Mine. My wife. My Queen. My love. I’ve waited an eternity to find the right woman for me.” I couldn’t speak, couldn’t respond, and he pulled his fingers out, pushed them back in, and muttered, “An iron will, but such a soft, luscious body.”

I moved my bottom, wanting more, needing more, and he didn’t disappoint. “That’s it, Sassy. Give yourself to me. Submit to the pleasure. Can you come for me? Let me see and smell you lost in ecstasy?”

I wasn’t ready to orgasm yet, but his words pushed me closer to the edge, and then the palm of his other hand curled under me, holding me in place as he worked his fingers in and out, and my scream echoed through the cavernous room.

“Again, Soph.” I rose on tiptoe and pressed my thighs together, and he added a finger to create a delicious stretch. I froze for a moment, but then couldn’t stop my hips from pushing back, begging for more, and more. His chuckle had an edge of cockiness as he spread the fingers invading me.

I gasped as I sucked air in and said, “Please, Aaron. I want more than your fingers! I want you.”

“And I want to taste your orgasm on my fingers. Come for me again, Soph. Give it to me, submit to the pleasure.”

I did as he ordered and surrendered to the sensations, to the exquisite way he handled my body, and when I came this time the pleasure slipped over me, nice and slow and gentle as I tossed my head back and gave a dragon roar.

He was holding me to him when the orgasm lost its grip on me, and I didn’t protest when he carried me to bed and settled me on my hands and knees, stroking me. I arched into his hands as they ran over my back, my bottom, my thighs. I spread for him without realizing it as his slow, lazy strokes had me moving where he wanted me.

His hand on my shoulder blades pushed, and I went from my hands to my forearms, and then finally to my chest, with my arms out to the side. He ran his hands over my arms, the unspoken message he wanted them to stay put, and I suddenly wanted to do it for him, to surrender to him in every way. I tilted my bottom up even more, and the air grew even thicker with the spicy scent of his arousal.

There was no warning before his mouth was on me, his tongue inside of me, and his arms wrapped around my thighs to hold me in place as he ravaged me. I screamed, squirmed, twisted, and then screamed some more as another orgasm swept me under and I fought to pull oxygen into my body under the weight of his heat, his hunger.

Five minutes later I was still in the grips of the climax, shuddering and writhing, my body held in place by Aaron’s arms or I’d have collapsed into nothingness. He was relentless, full of thunder and lightning, and then his teeth were on my clitoris and I screamed as the orgasm obliterated all conscious thought and I became pleasure and bliss, heat and hunger. A sob wrenched from me as I shattered, grabbing the sheets to try to find an anchor, and it was at this moment he rose up and plunged into me, taking me, owning me, possessing me.

His heat scalded me, branded me. Nothing that came before could compare. My Dragon King was claiming me — body and soul — but he was also giving himself to me on every level.

Waves of darkness and light crashed over me, and I saw into his soul, saw the very core of him. His breath brushed across my neck, and the heat and width of him dominated me like never before as he pounded me from behind. I
arched my back and lifted my bottom even higher, offering more of myself than I’d ever given, had ever known I was capable of giving, and he growled, “Yes, Sophia. I’m yours and you’re mine.”

I hadn’t been prepared for the transfer of energy to make Aaron and me as one earlier today, merging our energies until I knew his thoughts and he knew mine, and we stood before our people as one being, so in love there were no boundaries between us.

So now, when Aaron gave me so much pleasure I thought I’d die from the overload of it, I reached for the bond we’d formed earlier today and shared it, let him help me before I shattered into a million pieces as lightning traveled through my veins.

Aaron came with me, and now I was getting his pleasure, too — so piercingly carnal my screams were never-ending, and as much dragon as human. The bond between us blazed, but the fire didn’t break it. It seemed to temper it, forge it, making it even stronger, until the sensory overload took me under and I floated in a sea of Aaron’s love for me.

  Epilogue

  Sophia

I sighed in joy as I watched our two daughters and one son frolicking on the beach. Sapphire, Emerald, and Hunter were still in dragon form, exactly one week old after hatching from their eggs. We hadn’t yet turned them human, as Aaron said it was best to wait until they were comfortable flying before their first change.

I’d had to stay in Dragon form while the eggs developed inside me, but once I laid them I could spend time on video chat with people back home, to be sure things ran smooth.

Aaron and I were a mere eight months into our marriage, but it was strong, and I knew he’d waited an eternity for kids and I hadn’t wanted to make him wait any longer. We planned to have swan babies in a few years, but the dragon babies came first. I’d also changed seven male and eight female Swans into Dragons, though surprisingly, neither of the two men who were already Dragons had chosen a Swan mate, but were both living amongst the Swans and would wait until the right woman came along. Meanwhile, they were coaching the new couples, helping them learn their abilities and talents as Dragons, and teaching them what they needed to know.

Aaron flew in from the ocean with a huge shark in his mouth. He dropped it from high up so it crashed onto the rocks and split open, and my babies ran to it, hungry.

I wasn’t a fan of sushi in human form, but as a dragon the mere thought of fresh shark meat had my mouth watering, so I flew down to join my family on the beach.

Aaron had paid a midwife to fill out the paperwork back home so our kids would have birth certificates and be official, though it would be a month or two before we took them home. I was in no hurry to leave, though — I loved it here, our own private island with the perfect dragon cave in the extinct volcano, and a beautiful house on the beach for when we were human. At least one of us had to be dragon at all times when the kids were awake because you wouldn’t believe the trouble three dragon juveniles can get into. I was exhausted, but I’d never been so happy in my life.

We finished the shark in no time, and Aaron and I led the kids up the mountain for their next flying lesson. They had the hang of it, just needed to work on their strength and their landings. Crash landing into the beach was funny, but I figured crashing onto something not quite so soft might hurt even them.

Aaron hovered as each jumped from the precipice, their wings caught, and they flew. I waited with them until they were all airborne and then jumped and flew with them.

The sea breeze on our wings, the crash of the surf below us, and an unlimited buffet in the ocean below us. Best of all, was my family flying together, climbing and diving, dipping and soaring.

We’d go back home to real life soon enough, but for now, I had the fantasy.

  Chapter Five

Gen usually picked her clients up and drove them to see listings, so she drove one of the most luxurious Mercedes, with a large, comfortable interior.

The bikers, however, had told her they’d meet her there.

Since there was a good chance she’d need to walk around on a rough surface, she’d worn three inch heels with a wider base, instead of four inch spiked heels. Her hair was in a French twist, and her business suit looked as if she could step in front of a television jury and give closing arguments. She’d learned long ago if she wanted to play with the big boys and sell million-dollar properties instead of podunk family houses, she needed more than her smarts and business sense, she’d need to look the part.

She smiled at Brain and Dog, as they’d been the two she’d walked this property with yesterday. Her eyes went to the other four men and her feet stopped moving.

Keith Bevering. God, she’d crushed on him so hard her freshmen year in high school, and he’d never given her the time of day. Then he’d graduated and she’d seen him at Isaac’s a few times, but she’d never managed to have an entire conversation with him. She’d dreamed of those lips a thousand times, though. Maybe a hundred thousand.

Brain introduced him as Duke and, like an idiot, she said, “No, that’s not right. It’s Keith.”

He tilted his head, thought a second, and smiled. “Frisco’s little sister? Gen?”

She nodded and he stepped forward to pull her into a hug. She thought it highly unprofessional, but he was large and apparently didn’t care. His arms wrapped around her and his hand landed on her gun, folded over it, and then brushed away. His mouth went to
her ear and he said, “Tell me you aren’t wearing that because you’re afraid of us?”

His voice came out in a growl, and while she hadn’t been afraid, she suddenly was. “No. I pretty much always have it with me. I’m legal, I have a—”

He stepped back, folded his arms on his huge chest, and demanded, “What’s happened that makes you carry a gun almost always, Genesis? Something you need help with?”

She shook her head. “Frisco and Isaac’s girlfriend, Cassie, was raped two years ago. And before that our friend, Sam, was shot. Cassie’s rapist came back after her again, and Cam, her other boyfriend, shot the rapist. Frisco hadn’t been able to help because he didn’t have a gun, but Cam walked in with one and saved them all, even though most would think Frisco is the bad-ass, because, well, he kinda is, you know?”

They were all looking at her like she was growing things out of the top of her head, so she wrapped it up. “Long story short, Frisco put in a shooting range out back, and Isaac taught me to shoot and helped me get my license to carry. They have a party at their house the first Sunday of every month, and we all go out back and shoot. Isaac sets up these obstacle course things in the woods, so we have to watch things pop up, see if it’s a good guy or a bad guy before we shoot. He times us, makes it a fun competition.” She looked around at them all and added, “I meet clients who contact me online, and I pick them up and take them to empty houses and office buildings. I pretty much always carry a gun. It isn’t just ya’ll.” She looked at Brain. “You put me at ease about two minutes after I met you yesterday. It was like, if someone came at us, you’d take care of them and I wouldn’t have to. I felt safer with you than away from you.”
