“Netflix, I think. I have Hulu, too.”

“I don’t know that one.” Temple turned on the TV and figured out the remote fairly quickly.

“It’s more TV shows. I spend a lot of late nights with the tube on for noise.”

“Ah.” Temple found the menu on Netflix and began scrolling through it.

Luke closed his eyes, breathed nice and slow. He wasn’t sleepy, he just needed to center.

“Here it is. You okay, darling?”

“I am. It’s been a stressful day and I’m feeling so much better.”

Temple’s hand settled on his thigh and squeezed. “I’m glad.”

  “Me too. Thank you.”

Leaning in, Temple kissed him softly. It was insane. This was crazy. He prayed it wouldn’t end.

  Chapter Five

Temple had been to the hospital for his five year check-up last week. His appointment to get the results was tomorrow and he had to admit, he was a little freaked out. If he made it this far, he’d taken a huge step toward beating the odds. But what if he hadn’t beaten them?

He felt good. He felt better than he had in a long, long time, which he knew was down in a large part to Luke. When the man asked him to move on, it was going to break his heart.

He tried to center himself, to find some balance and quiet while he waited for Luke to get home from a piercing party he’d been working. Ooommm and all that shit.

Frankly, he found focusing on Luke’s butt to be far more conducive to meditation these days, even if it was only in his mind’s eye.

“I brought home vegetables and rice.”

Smiling, he opened his eyes, gaze going immediately to Luke. “You’re good to me, darling.”

Luke always made sure to accommodate his preferred foods.

“I know rice is cooked, but…”

“That’s fine—you know I’m not militant about the raw food.” Besides, Luke needed the rice even if he didn’t.

Although if tomorrow didn’t go as he wanted, he would be going back to being super strict about what went into his mouth. He’d been a little obsessed, back in the beginning, and he was hoping his current attitude was healthier. Especially given that he didn’t want to change things.

Oh yeah, like his diet was why he wanted tomorrow to go well—it had nothing to do with the fact that cancer was quite often a death sentence and there was a good chance he could be battling with it again. He rolled his eyes at himself. God, this whole thing had him on edge.

“Come and eat, huh? We’ll deal with it tomorrow.”

“Huh? What are we dealing with tomorrow?” Whatever it was, if Luke needed it from him, he would give it.

Temple went over to Luke, stealing himself a kiss before his lover could answer. Luke wrapped one hand around his nape, rubbing his neck. He happily lost himself in the heat of Luke’s mouth and the slide of his lover’s tongue against his own. Luke’s little touches were coming more and more frequently.

Ending the kiss, he rubbed their noses together. “Hey, there, darling.”

“Hey. And I meant the doctor’s appointment. It’s tomorrow, right?”

“Oh. Yeah. I didn’t realize you’d remembered.” Just because it was all he could think of didn’t mean it was at the front of everyone’s mind. “I wanted to ask—will you come with me?”

“Of course. I wouldn’t ask you to do that alone. That’s scary.”

He wanted to brush it off—he’d done plenty of doctor’s appointments on his own. But Luke was right, this one was freaking him out and he was relieved not to have to go it alone. No, that wasn’t true. He was relieved Luke specifically was going to be there with him.

Luke squeezed his fingers. “Let’s eat.”

“Yeah. You want a glass of water with your food?”

  “I brought green tea.”

“Oh, you rock.” Luke was so good to him. He impulsively gave Luke a tight hug.

  “You’re special,” Luke told him.

He had to give Luke a smile. “I was just thinking the same thing about you.”

  “Reading my mind.”

Chuckling softly, he nodded. He loved the little joke between them. Loved even more that it so often seemed true.

“All right, green tea and food. Before either of us faints from hunger.”

“Yep. I pierced my fingers off.”

He took Luke’s hands in his and examined Luke’s fingertips. There were bruises peppering them.

“You really did pierce your fingers off. Darling, I had no idea it was this hard on you.” He brought one of Luke’s fingers to his lips and kissed it.

“Oh, I’m just being a whiny fuck. Ignore me.”

“Language, language.” He tapped Luke’s nose. “I hate those words from your beautiful mouth.” Then he sucked Luke’s finger in, tongue playing with the pad.

The tiny ache should mingle with the pleasure, excite his dear lover. He would turn every pain into pleasure, let the two become one. He let Luke’s finger go, then pulled the next one in.

“I thought we were going to eat,” Luke’s voice faded off.

“Are you not on the menu?”

Luke chuckled, finger lingering in his mouth.

“I could eat,” Temple admitted. “Better yet, I could feed you.”

  “That sounds delicious.”

“Then let’s sit and I will put food in your mouth in a sexy manner.” Temple waggled his eyes at Luke, though he’d held off on the bad and very cheesy French accent.

“Dork.” He did love the way Luke smiled.

“The dork who’s about to feed you.” Temple tugged Luke to the table.

The food smelled amazing, rich and delicious. There was a curry sauce along with the vegetables and rice and he put a little bit of everything on a fork before holding it up to Luke’s lips. Luke opened to him, so sweet, so hungry. He slipped his fork into Luke’s mouth before taking a mouthful for himself.

Oh, tasty. Delicious. There was a deep spiciness, waking him up. He offered Luke another bite.

“It’s good, huh?” Luke took it, ate hungrily.

“Yeah, very good. Curry might be my new favorite.” Even if it wasn’t raw.

“I like it. I like the soup from that place—coconut and spice and lime.”

“That sounds nice, too. And it’s vegetarian.” He slipped another forkful into Luke’s mouth, then leaned in and licked an escaping bit of sauce from the corner of Luke’s lips.

“Of course. I wouldn’t ask you to eat meat.”

“I know. But you don’t have to hold back just for me.” He didn’t dictate anyone else’s menu, even if he did think giving up meat, for the most part, was a healthier way to eat.

“I know.” Luke opened his lips for another bite.

He picked up a chunk of carrot and fed it to Luke with his fingers. Luke moaned around his finger, sucking hard. Groaning, he felt his cock harden.

His finger popped out of Luke’s mouth.

“You make me feel so sexual, so erotic,” Luke told him.

“Ditto, darling. You make me feel so alive.”

“Good. You’re the most alive man I know.”

“I just know how quickly it could all get snatched away. If you don’t totally live every moment, what’s the point?” He’d learned it the hard way, but he wasn’t going to waste time regretting how he’d been taught. At least he knew now.

“Yep. It’s not going to be bad news, though.”

“I sure hope not. I feel like I’ve got more than ever to live for.” Like the man he was looking at right now.

“You’ll be fine. You have to be.”

“Yeah, I do.” If he wasn’t cancer free he had a huge incentive to beat it back once again. Last time he’d managed it without a beautiful man in his life.

Luke kissed him again, hard. He took the kiss and encouraged Luke to stay close for another one. Then another.

“Want you. Want you to feel good.” Luke’s words were fierce.

“I do, darling, you make me feel so good.”

Luke smiled, the look still so worried, deep down.

He recognized and shared that feeling and he twined their fingers together. “Take me to bed, darling.”

“Have you had enough to eat?”

“Probably not, but I want you more than I want food.”

“I’ll put it in the fridge, for after.” Practical man.

“Okay. I’ll watch your butt while you do it. How about sticking it on the lower shelf?” he suggested.

Luke laughed for him, gathering up the to-go boxes and playfully sticking them on the bottom shelf. His cock jerked and Temple gave a very appreciative moan.

He loved how Luke’s cheeks heated, how one hand was offered to him. “Ready?”

“For you? Always.” Because this man was special and he would always drop everything to be with Luke.

Maybe it had only been a few weeks, but he was as sure now as he’d been in the flush of new love. He stopped them halfway up the stairs, bringing Luke in for a kiss. Luke’s body was solid, firm against him, cock like a long brand. He pressed Luke up against the wall, rubbing their fronts together.

“Hey…” Luke’s hands settled around his hips, holding on.

“It’s like nothing else exists when I’m with you.” Hell, Luke was always on his mind. Always.

  “Is that good?”

“It’s utterly fantastic.” It made him damn happy.

Luke chuckled, then started dragging him up the steps.

“Oh, I like how eager you are.” He goosed Luke, being careful to just get butt cheek, no crack.

Luke jumped, grinned back. “I’ve got you and a bed waiting.”

“Uh-huh. And we haven’t come since this morning.”

  “The horror.”

“Sure is. Gotta do the things that feel amazing as much as possible.”

  “I totally agree.”

“I’m glad, darling. Because you’re the thing that feels the most amazing to me. So I need to be doing you—much easier when you’re agreeable.” They went into the bedroom, the bed right there, calling to them.

  “Love that you want me.”

“All the time and twice on Sundays.” He was grinning as he closed their mouths together, the expression fading as he slipped his tongue into Luke’s mouth.

Luke wrapped long arms around him, fingers digging into his scalp. He pressed their bodies close together, enjoying the tease of doing this dressed. He’d discovered that Luke could kiss for hours. Just go on and on, their tongues sliding on each other, Luke’s piercing mixing things up.

It was a good quality in a lover.

Sliding his hand behind Luke’s head, he tilted it slightly so he could deepen the kiss. He loved the deep moans he got, the way Luke groaned for him. They kissed forever and he waited as long as he could to start undressing Luke.

He needed to feel that warm skin, though, to touch and rub. He got his fingers beneath Luke’s T-shirt, slowly pulling it up. Luke’s abs rippled, body jerking under his touch.

“Oh, damn.” He stroked those pretty muscles over and over. His fingers dragged on Luke’s warm skin, loving on it.

“I thought you said no cursing,” Luke teased.

“I couldn’t help it, you’re just so sexy.”

“Nonsense.” Luke’s snort was dismissive, but pleased, he thought.

“No, it’s truth, plain and simple. You are the sexiest man alive.”

  “Now you’re just being silly.”

He could see Luke playing with the studs in his lip.

“No, no, I’m not. I mean every word, darling.”

Luke pulled his shirt all the way off. Temple took a moment to admire. Skin and ink and metal. Luke was the wet dream he’d never known he wanted. Those double pierced nipples begged for attention and soon he’d see Luke’s decorated cock.

He trailed his fingers along Luke’s chest, groaning at the sight of Luke’s muscles flexing. That found him flicking and clicking those nipple rings together. Which made Luke’s muscles clench harder and he groaned, kissing Luke again, his tongue slipping into Luke’s mouth.

Now he wanted that pretty, bejeweled cock to play with. Going to his knees, he began opening Luke’s jeans, tugging them down. Luke kept touching him, stroking his scalp, the touches feather light. Humming, he turned his head to kiss Luke’s palm, then went back to exposing Luke’s pretty cock.

“My brave darling, so needy for sensation.” He blew on Luke’s hot, hard flesh as it was exposed, admiring the piercings. He touched each piercing, one after another. “You know how I know that you really are a sensual, sexy man?”

  “No, love.” Luke’s thighs parted.

“These.” He touched the piercings again. “Only a sensual, sexual man would want these.”

“I wanted to be. I wanted to prove I could be.”

“You are.” He smiled up at Luke as he traced the veins on the hard cock. “You so are.” How weird, that someone would want to tell this wonderful man he wasn’t a fine sexual being.

Leaning in, he touched the tip of his tongue to Luke’s slit.

“Yes…” That was a needy noise if he’d ever heard one.

He teased it, then pushed his tongue into it. Luke arched, hips rolling in the tiniest motions.

“Needy.” He most definitely did not mean it as a complaint.

  “Yes. Yes.” No hesitation there.

Nodding, he wrapped his lips around the head and began to suck. He loved the piercings—they made Luke’s cock like no one else’s ever. Luke arched, cock sliding on his tongue. He took it as deep as he could with the piercings and swallowed around the head.

“Temple!” Luke was right there, driving into him, so hungry.

He encouraged his lover to take what he needed.

  “I… Gonna make me…”

Oh yeah, that was the point. He sucked harder, head bobbing as his lips slipped along the pierced flesh. He could tell exactly when Luke stopped thinking—when his lover started fucking his lips.

It was just what he wanted and he took it, hands wrapping around Luke’s ass to encourage each thrust.

“I…” Luke’s words trailed off, cock swelling in his lips.

He nudged Luke’s balls, wanting his lover’s cum. Just like that, Luke shot, pouring bitter salty seed into his lips. He swallowed it down, sucking quickly to make sure he didn’t lose any.

“Make my knees weak.” Luke was breathless, panting.

“Better lie down then, darling.” Smiling, he helped Luke get out of his jeans properly.

Luke just stared at him, dazed, blinking.

Temple pushed gently, sending Luke toppling onto the mattress before standing and beginning to strip. Luke slowly played with the bar through the head of his cock, eyes focused on him. He made a bit of a show of it, seeing as Luke was watching—pulling everything off slow and easy. That made Luke wet his lips, moan softly.

Smiling, he toed off his Doc Martens and stepped out of his jeans. Then he gave Luke a little turn.

  “Beautiful man,” Luke told him.

“Thanks, darling. I’ve got nothing on you, but I’m glad you like me.” Luke was the looker—Temple was…tall and skinny and bald.

“I think you’re stunning.” Luke wasn’t bullshitting him, either. He could tell.

Smiling, he climbed onto the bed. He moved up his lover’s body, rubbing all along the way. “You feel so good, darling.”

  “Uh-huh. Totally.”

He pressed their lips together, tongue slipping into Luke’s mouth. Luke reached up for him, kissed him back like there was nothing else Luke wanted to do, that fascinating, pierced tongue playing with his.

Pushing his erection against Luke’s hip, he rubbed their bodies together. There was a long, soft slide of skin there, begging to be stroked. He began rocking, finding a rhythm.

“I wish…” Luke took his lips, trapping the words between them.

Groaning, he pulled their lips apar
t. “Tell me. I’ll make it happen.” He would do anything for Luke.

“Shh.” Luke shook his head. “Come here.”

  “I’m right here, darling.”

Luke pressed their lips together again, hand sliding down to give his cock more friction. Groaning, he let it go, concentrating on the sensations Luke was giving him. Luke’s touch felt like worship, dragging up and down his shaft.

  “Fantastic touch,” he murmured.

“Need to feel you come, Temple.”

“You keep doing that and I’m gonna.”

“Good.” Luke’s thumb slid along his slit.

“Luke!” He jerked, body pressing hard against Luke.

“Feel good?” Luke’s lips brushed against his jaw. “I love that, slit play.”

“Uh-huh. I figured that out when I saw the jewelry. And yeah, it’s good. Makes me want to curse.”

Luke chuckled, fingers pressing in, touching him again and again and again. Groaning, he kept his hips moving, working Luke. It wasn’t going to be very long at all.

“Sweet…” Luke’s thumb dragged over his skin, making him want to scream.

His breath panted from him. Soon. Soon. The word sounded over and over again in his mind.

“Come on. Need you.” Luke was insistent, demanding.

Temple didn’t even have a chance to nod before he was coming, spilling over Luke’s hand and hip. Luke moaned, fingers massaging the spunk into both of their skins.

“Mmm.” He rubbed their noses together.

  “Better?” Luke asked.

“Yeah, I’m feeling very mellow now. And you make a decent mattress. Shout out if I’m too heavy.” He was disinclined to move.

“I’m happy.” Luke nuzzled his ear.

“Oh, good.” He chuckled and turned, kissed Luke’s lips. His lover’s lips clung to his. “I think we should do this all night long.”

“Works for me.” Luke clung to him.

  “Yeah, me too.”

He went back in for another kiss, intent on doing exactly that. He wasn’t going to think about tomorrow, damn it. He wasn’t going to think about it at all.

  Chapter Six

Luke had woken up early, gotten Temple in the shower, made the man a smoothie, then manfully resisted the urge to have a cigarette before they headed to the doctor’s. He wasn’t nervous. Not. Nope. Cool as a motherfucking cucumber.
