The Boss Deal Page 4

“Blame her?” Smirking, I take a long step forward, making her step back uncomfortably. “No one's at fault here, Misty, neither of us knew. I didn't know who you were, you didn't know who I was, we're even. But,” I say, reaching out, and taking a loose strand of her hair, and twist it around my fingers, “I won't lie and say I wasn't a little upset to wake up in an empty bed this morning.”

She hangs her head, obviously a little embarrassed by her choice. “I just wanted to keep things simple. No names, no one getting the wrong message, no expectations; just sex, and that's it.”

“Well, looks like your plan just got more complicated now, didn't it?” My eyes slip down her chest, watching her breathing increase and her nipples harden.

They bead under her shirt, turning into little pebbles. Licking my lips, they get firmer and more defined. My cock jerks in my pants, ready and willing to fuck her right here and now.

She swallows hard, and I watch the lump get stuck in her throat. It jumps softly, and she has to swallow again. “Look, I didn't mean to offend you by leaving. Just don't take it out on Vanessa, she has no idea we hooked up.”

“So you want me to keep it a secret?”

Nodding, she clamps her hands together in front of her waist. “That would be great.”

Stroking my jaw, I let my eyes stay firmly on hers. “And what do I get out of this? What are you going to do for me to keep this little secret of yours?”

“It's not just my secret, it's yours too.”

“No.” I take another step toward her, she holds her ground. We're toe to toe, so close I can smell the lavender shampoo in her hair. It heats my core, making my stomach knot and my balls draw up against my body. I want her so fucking bad it's killing me. “I don't give a shit who knows we fucked last night. It was just sex, Misty, like you said. But, if you want me to keep my mouth shut, maybe you need to make it worth my while.”

“Yeah, no thanks. We had our fun, and now it's over. I'm just asking for some discretion, that's it.”

Chuckling, I thumb my bottom lip and smirk. “You do realize I'm your boss now, right?”

She folds her arms across her chest, kicking her hip out as she glares up at me. “That's not how this is going to work, Nick.” Her lips curl down, and her pupils turn to pin pricks.

“But it's the truth. You had your first assignment last night, now I have a new one for you.”

Misty's about to go off on me, it's written all over her face that I just pissed her off. Her nose crinkles in the center, her brows drop hard, her lips thin. Growling, she throws up her hand, and I ready myself for a slap.

“Oh, there you two are!” Vanessa yells from the door, running up to us. “I just got a call from Lewis up in the New Hampshire—”

Cutting her off, I smile confidently. “It's all taken care of,” I say, resting a hand on my chest. “He called me earlier, that's who I was talking to, and I didn't want to worry you. It's all set. Tomorrow, Misty and I are going to head up there and take care of everything.”

Misty's body stiffens as her head slowly twists back in my direction. Vanessa lets out a big gust of air as she rests anxious hands on her knees.

“Oh, thank God. I had no idea how I was going to get up there, because this definitely can't wait.” She grabs Misty and hugs her. “Thank you, you're a life saver, you know that?” Pushing out her arms, Vanessa has a warm smile on her face. “I'll get you all the information I have so far on the place.”

  “Van—”

“Perfect,” I chime in, not giving Misty a chance to back out. “We'll leave in the morning. I'll pick you up at nine.” Taking out my phone, I slip a finger across the screen. “What's your number? I'll text you mine, and you can send me your address.”

“How about I just meet you here at nine, I think that'll work better for me.”

She's avoiding giving me anything more than her name. And I'm lucky to even have that. If luck wasn't in the cards for me, she'd just be a face in my memory, and a body I'd never forget. But, I do have her name, I stole it without her permission.

“Have it your way, just don't be late,” I say. I'll let her have this one, she can take the lead, and I'll just follow.

Because by the time I'm done with her, she'll be begging me to fuck her.

  Misty

  I can't believe I'm doing this.

Looking over the clothes I have out on the bed, I think I have everything I'll need, so I pack them in my suitcase. I'm regretting agreeing to this. I'm going to be in a car with Nick for over four hours. Just us, no one else.

No one else. My stomach clenches at the thought, filling with butterflies.

Zipping up my suitcase, I glance in the mirror as I walk by. Picking up the lip gloss off my dresser, I spread it over my lips, and smile.

  Here we go.

I'm not sure what to expect on this trip, and I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm a little bit nervous. Our night together is all I can think about. It was incredible. His hands were rough, his mouth greedy, his cock hard as steel as he drove in deep. . .

I'm wet just thinking about it. How am I going to survive this?

Pulling up the handle on my suitcase, I roll it to the curb and hail a cab. The entire ride to the bakery to meet Nick my belly is getting hotter and hotter, my hands are clammy, and I feel sick to my stomach.

The taxi slows, and as I open the door and look up, he's leaning against the building with his foot up against the wall.

Fuck, he looks so damn good.

In fitted jeans, chucks, and a plain blue t-shirt, the simplicity is jaw dropping. The fabric of his short sleeves squeezed his biceps, and his muscles bite back, threatening to tear the stitches apart.

His hair is loose, moving easily across his forehead as the wind blows. A cut jawline, sharp with angles, and a light shadow of hair, make my thighs clench together and my pussy tingle. Even behind the sunglasses I feel the heat off his eyes, and my entire body ignites like a fuse.

This man is going to destroy me, I just know it.

Nick smiles, stepping off the wall, and coming to the cab. His muscles tense with each step, bulging and thickening as he moves. Resting his arm against the roof, he leans in the passenger window, and hands the driver some money. “Here, keep the change.”

“You don't need to do that. I can pay him.” Digging in my purse, I pull out my wallet and start to open it.

He crooks his jaw and shakes his head. “I'm sure you can, but I beat you to it.” Nick opens my door to let me out. “Are you as excited for this as I am?”

Rolling my eyes, I walk to the back of the cab, and open the trunk. “Excited? No, not exactly. I'm ready for it to be over.”

“Come on,” he says, reaching into the trunk and taking out my luggage. “It'll be fun. You get a little break from the city, a paid vacation by work, what could be better than that?”

“First of all, I didn't agree to this, you put me here. I don't know what your secret plan is, but it isn't going to work.” I grab the handle for my suitcase, but Nick quickly grabs my arm, holding me in place.

“I plan on having a good time, and so should you.” He releases my arm, softly running the very tips of his fingers down to my hand. “Life's about having fun, Misty.”

The hair on my arms stand up, and my whole body shivers. Nick licks his lips as he pulls the suitcase from my grasp and carries it to his car.

I'm frozen in place. Whatever spell he just cast on me is working. My pussy is dripping, my nipples are tender and perked as my stomach fills with butterflies.

“You coming? Or do I need to pick you up and carry you too?”

Shaking my head, I reground myself. “I'm coming,” I say, walking to his car and dropping into the passenger seat. Nick closes my door and moves to the front, waiting for the traffic to pass so he can get in.

I take a second to look around quickly before he climbs inside with me. His car isn't as fancy as I expected. I pictured him driving a Mercedes or a
BMW, but to my surprise, it's just your classic sedan.

It's clean, no frills, no fancy leather, or computerized dashboard. Twisting the air freshener that's dangling from the mirror in my direction, I smell it. It's not a new car scent or one of those pine tree scents, it's green tea and lavender. Glancing out the windshield, Nick is still waiting for traffic to stop, so I pop open his glove box. Nothing.

There's no trash or dirt in the car anywhere. The windows are crystal clear and there isn't a speck of dirt on the floor.

“Okay,” he says, sitting down and putting the key in the ignition. “Let's do this.”

“Your car is super clean, like too clean.”

“What can I say, I like keep things tidy.” He checks his mirrors, and the car jerks forward as he pulls into the street.

“If this is how you keep your car, I can't imagine your house.”

“Well, maybe you'll have to come over one day.” He looks over at me briefly, and my heart hammers inside my chest.

Turning away, I look out my window. “Not going to happen. I don't even want to know where you live.” Tucking my hands under my thighs, I just watch the buildings as we drive out of the city.

I'm standing my ground. Nick might be flirty, he might be one of those guys who thinks because he had it once, he can have it whenever he wants. But he's wrong. We are a one-time thing.

My best friend is interested in him, and I'm not going to screw up our relationship for some guy. Not going to happen.

“Well, I live just over the line in Connecticut.” he says, “Now, why don't you tell me something about yourself.”

  “Like what?”

  “I don't know, something interesting.”

  “Why?”

“Because we have a four hour drive ahead of us, and I don't want to do it in silence.”

Arching my brows, I lean forward, and turn on the radio. “There, problem solved.”

Nick chuckles, running his hand across his jaw. His eyes are flicking between the road and me, but his smile, his smile is making me weak in the knees.

“Fine, you don't have to talk. I'll tell you something about myself instead.” His lips fold down as he hums and thinks. “Well, let's see, where to start. . .” Pausing, he keeps his eyes forward. “Well, I'm good in bed, we both know that.”

“Seriously?” I ask, jerking my head in his direction.

“Hey, you don't want to talk, remember? This is the Nick show now, you're going to have to deal with it.”

“That's fine, but can we not talk about sex?”

“Why not? You loved it.” He bites his lip and flashes me a sexy grin.

I want to tell him to get bent, but he's right. The sex was great. It was incredible, probably the best I've ever had. But I'm not going to tell him that.

“Ask me again,” I say. He looks at me, not saying a word. “Seriously, ask me again about myself.”

“Oh, all right, I wasn't sure. I thought maybe you were talking about us and—”

Cutting him off, I avoid the sex topic, “Yeah, I get it. So, ask me again.”

“Tell me something about yourself, Misty.”

“I once got arrested for indecent exposure at a water park.”

“What?” he balks with a laugh.

“Yeah, I didn't realize my bathing suit was see through when it got wet, and the park called the cops because a few parents complained. I guess I had walked around long enough baring all the goods.”

Nick is laughing hard, his eyes watering so much he has to wipe them with his hand so he can see. “Wow, that's crazy. Hilarious, but crazy. I wish I had been there.”

“Yeah, it wasn't so funny when I had to call my parents. Now it's your turn.”

“Okay, how's this one for you. I got arrested once too, on Halloween, in a ninja costume.”

  “For what?”

“Me and a few friends had gone to a party, and I was walking home, but I guess there had also been some burglaries in the area, and well, I looked suspicious.”

“Yeah, I would think a guy in a ninja suit, alone, late at night, might catch some attention.”

“The looks I got were something.”

Giggling, he laughs with me, and I start feel a little more relaxed. We're getting further and further away from the city, and the distance is putting me more at ease. We talk about our childhood, funny stories we have, jobs, relationships, and it's actually really nice.

Nick is smart, he's funny, and his confidence is sexy as hell.

“Oh, hey, did you see that?” he asks as he looks out my window.

“See what? I don't see anything but trees.”

We're on a mountain road in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. All I see are trees. Every so often there's a break in the forest and I get a glimpse of the valley below.

“I swear I saw a moose, or maybe it was a deer.” He's squinting his eyes as he slows the car down.

“What are doing? Why are you stopping?”

“I told you, I thought I saw something.”

Nick pulls the car to the side of the road, and into a small clearing. He's staring out my window, looking around me. I try to scan the trees, but I don't see a damn thing.

He turns the car off, and starts to open his door. Throwing my arm out, I grab his forearm. “Wait, where are you going?”

“I'm going to look. Come on, let's go see.”

“I don't think that's a good idea, we don't have time for this. We're supposed to be—”

“Misty,” he says, leaning into the car as he holds the roof. “You're with the boss, you're not going to get in trouble.” He nods his head for me to get out, walking around to the front of the car.

Letting out a weighted breath, I sit for a couple more seconds, before reluctantly climbing out. Crossing my arms over my chest, I walk to him. It's a little cooler up here, and I notice instantly the air is different.

It's crisper, cleaner, and easier to inhale. I can see down into the valley from the small ditch we're in. There are a few houses, and the rest is fields. I've never been this far into the country before, but it's beautiful.

“Do you think it's gone? He wouldn't attack us, would he?”

“Why, are you scared? Don't worry, I won't let anything hurt you.”

“You're going to fight off a nine hundred pound animal?”

He looks back at me over his shoulder as he stalks to the tree line. “I will if I have to.”

I smile with his response, a flutter in my belly at the idea of him protecting me. It's a sweet idea, but he isn't taking down an animal that size.

There's a rustle in the leaves, and Nick reaches back, and slides me behind him to block me protectively. His hand slides down my arm, and I don't even realize it when it happens, but I wrap my fingers into his.

His hand is warm, his fingers capturing mine like he's been waiting for me. Nick squeezes my hand, his eyes no longer on the trees but on me. He looks down at our braided fingers, then up to my eyes with a satisfied smirk on his face.

“I like this,” he says, lifting our hands as one.

I don't answer, I can't. I like it too, but I told myself he's off limits. Look and don't touch, that's the rule now.

His thumb sweeps over my knuckles, and my heart bucks in my chest. His eyes are on mine, strong, bold, and making the world around me disappear.

Nick takes another look over his shoulder, then turns and pulls me towards the car. “There's nothing here. Whatever it was is probably long gone by now.”

Reaching the front of the car and he stops. Leaning against the hood, he swiftly swings me around and pulls me into his chest. I'm at his mercy, coiled in his arms, trapped against his hard chest.

My hands sit on his firm chest muscles, my mind a swirling mess of desire and resistance.

  You can't. . . But I want to.

  Don't. . . But I need to.

  No. . . Yes.

With one slow blink, I peer up at him like a deer in headlights. There's so much
I want, and so much I can't have. I bite my bottom lip, unsure of what he's thinking.

Nick moves his fingers up and down the center of my back. The motion is soft, delicate, but I feel the need. The pads of his fingers deepen, pressing harder, massaging with long, firm strokes.

I melt into his arms, letting him touch me in a way I know he shouldn't. His hand slips over my side, brushing the outside of my breast as he presses the small of my back closer to his body.

Tipping my head, Nick shifts his face, causing our lips to almost touch. His mouth hovers on mine, testing me, waiting to see if I'll accept or reject him.

Be strong! You promised yourself you'd stay away!

My lips open as my head tries to pull away. My tongue tempts the opening of my mouth, while my hands push against his chest. It's a battle, a battle I'm losing. A battle I'm never going to win.

In one quick swoop, Nick captures my face in his hands, and kisses me deep. His tongue licks and tastes, and I lick back. He sucks my tongue into his mouth, palming the back of my head and kissing me deeper.

Wrapping an arm around my waist, he spins me so I'm against the car. Our lips never break away as he lifts me off the ground and sits me on the hood of the car. Neither one of us is speaking. The only sounds between us are wet lips and gasping breaths.

Feverishly he starts to unbutton my shorts. Reaching down I grab his hands, and ask, “Right here?”

“Right here.” He smirks, pinching my zipper and pulling it down.

Lifting a hand to my shoulder, he pushes me back on the hood, and starts to wriggle my shorts and panties down my thighs. Digging my heels into the bumper, I lift myself up, and he tugs my shorts to my ankles.

His fingers grip my thighs, and he groans as his eyes drop to my pussy. “Now that's fucking beautiful,” he says, licking his lips.

A cool breeze blows across my pussy, making me shiver. Nick chuckles, biting his bottom lip. “I'm going to make you fucking shiver all over, just wait.” He pushes my thighs open wider and drops to his knees.
