Hangovers and Holidays (Untouchable Book 5)
Page 34
Pivoting, I glanced around the parking lot. It was filling up gradually. Familiar faces were grabbing their crap out of their cars and heading in the building. Rachel’s car appeared with the yellow SUV right behind it. We kept the PDAs off at school, we weren’t advertising. I’d been hearing enough crap from the exes and the gossips and more.
“You know what,” I said, glancing back to Ian and meeting his startling blue-eyed gaze, “I’m okay with it.”
“With…?”
I rose up on my tip toes and wrapped an arm around his neck. He dipped to meet me automatically, and his lips smoothed over mine. They were cool and chilly, but his mouth was hot, and I opened to him easily. We clung there for a long moment, just teasing each other, before I slowly lowered to stand on my feet again.
“Angel?”
“I don’t care who knows,” I said flatly. “You guys are my boyfriends. That’s all that matters.”
No more hiding.
It was us.
His smile grew slowly, and then he nodded. “Damn straight, we are.”
“Well fuck,” Jake said as he wrenched his door open and looked over at me. “You sure about this?”
I glanced from Archie’s bemused smirk to Coop’s genuine curiosity to Jake’s fiercely protective scowl.
“I’ve never been sure of anything more.”
They were mine.
I was going to fucking own it.
“Well bring it on,” Rachel said as she strolled up, and I grabbed a hug. She laughed against me. “I got your back.”
They all did.
We’d have each other’s.
“And look, I’m even happy to see these assholes.”
Laughter bubbled up through me. “Look, they even brought you coffee.”
“I could get used to this,” Rachel declared, winking at me. “Ready to kick some ass?”
“That’s my job,” Jake declared, and he wrapped an arm around me before pressing a kiss against my temple. He laced his fingers together with mine and stroked his thumb over the ring. “Shall we?”
“Let’s,” Coop said with a mock accent. “We should probably get video of the dropping jaws.”
“And the jealous looks,” Rachel said with a hum. “So many jealous little bitches are going to cry.”
“Be nice,” I told her.
“What?” Rachel said. “You want me to offer them a fucking tissue?”
It was our last first day of high school.
It was going to rock.
Frankie and the boys will be back in Brazen & Breathless.

It’s a new year.
It’s a new me.
Or maybe I should say a new us.
We’re out there. We’re not hiding the fact that I’m dating all of them. PDAs are back on the table. The final semester of high school kicks off with a bang. I have to keep my eye on the prize though—make every AP class count, keep my grades up, and find a way to balance life with my guys. My best friends. My boyfriends. My lovers.
The battle with Maddy is still on the table. So is figuring out our future. It’s one thing to say we’re sticking together, now we have to make it happen.
I never thought it would be easy. Apparently, we don’t do easy.
But am I ready for this?
All I know is I’m not giving them up without a fight.
Ninety some odd days to go, and we graduate. We can do it, right?
*Please note this is a reverse harem, and the author suggests you always read the forward in her books. Contains some bullying elements, mature situations, and is recommended for 17+. This is the sixth in a series, and the story will continue through future books.
Afterword
Whew. We made it. Halfway through senior year with five books under our belt and it’s finally official, Frankie and her guys are in their relationship. Every one of them is on board. Every one of them is committed. More, Frankie is owning the relationship.
It’s easy to look at them and wonder why this is a big deal, I get that. I see some of the comments I get and I read the emails who all want to know why it’s taken so long. This book is part of the reason we took our time on this journey.
Building relationships takes time. Shifting a relationship, particularly ones founded in deep friendship, is nerve-wracking enough. When you shift the dynamics in a group with more, you run the risk that not everyone can handle the change.
At the beginning of the year, Frankie was not in a good place emotionally. She’s still struggling. It’s been a tough few months and yet, she’s also got the guys at her back and the best kind of friend in Rachel. She’s standing up for herself and she’s owning her decisions. Owning up to the fact she loves these guys and wants it to work.
They love her enough and are close enough as friends that they are willing to make it work for her. Does that mean it’s all sunshine and roses? No, relationships are effort. Happily ever after is always a work in progress. But we’re seeing the progress now.
Best of all, they’re a unit now and ready to handle whatever life throws at them.
So thank you again for being on this journey with me. I am so excited to see where we go next.
xoxo

About Heather Long
USA Today bestselling author, Heather Long, likes long walks in the park, science fiction, superheroes, Marines, and men who aren’t douche bags. Her books are filled with heroes and heroines tangled in romance as hot as Texas summertime. From paranormal historical westerns to contemporary military romance, Heather might switch genres, but one thing is true in all of her stories—her characters drive the books. When she’s not wrangling her menagerie of animals, she devotes her time to family and friends she considers family. She believes if you like your heroes so real you could lick the grit off their chest, and your heroines so likable, you’re sure you’ve been friends with women just like them, you’ll enjoy her worlds as much as she does.
