  The radio went silent.

Tony turned the crank on the radio to be sure the silence wasn’t caused because the radio ran out of power.

After turning the crank twenty times, Tony, Mike and Linda sat and listened, hoping to hear more.

Despite not hearing anything more, they all sat back and smiled as a sense of hope filled their thoughts.

Tony smiled, “Damn! I wasn’t expecting that.”

“Thank God,” Linda said. “Help is on the way!”

“I’m glad to see our military is still in business,” Mike smiled. “I guess that if anyone could get through this it would be them.”

“I’m so happy to know that everything is going to be OK,” Linda added. “I’m glad you picked up that radio, otherwise we would have never heard this broadcast. It sounds like if we just stay here for a few weeks, we’ll all be fine.”

Linda turned to Mike and gave him a big hug.

Mike looked over at Tony who was holding the radio up to his ear as he turned the tuning knob.

“We just heard great news. What are you trying to find now?”

“I’m looking for the Marine’s broadcast,” Tony said. “It all sounded good, but that was the Navy’s version of things, until I hear it from the Marine’s, I’m not going to get too excited.”

Mike and Linda laughed as Tony smiled.

  “Anyone still hungry?” Linda asked.

Mike and Tony quickly followed her back to the kitchen table.

For some reason, they all felt like eating again.

As the doctor on the broadcast had said, it would not change quickly and it would be easy, but they now at least knew that there was someone out there.

  For now, they had hope.

It was a hell of a lot more than they have had over the last few weeks.

  They ate and talked excitedly.

“I can’t wait until tomorrow night,” Mike said. “Finally we are going to find out what happened.”

“It will be great having some intel to know where the walkers are too,” Tony added. “You know, a month is a long damn time to wait until we get any help.”

“Think positive,” Mike said. “Think positive.”
